Had a good poke around for ages, I got put off by bait station at G Z. unfortunately not there for me today. Thanks anyway, hopefully will be back at some other time.
Nice camo, all in good order. Sunny, cool & windy - another lovely day in Te Aotearoa - and a quick march to GZ for me.Be careful not to disturb other important equipment at GZ. TFTC Flowerydaze
Easily found by my 2 helpers. HNeeded to warn them away from the stoat trap. TFTC
#2714. A weekend away with GB Leader in Raumati was a good excuse to go caching in an area I had never visited before - and it so happened that Flowerydaze wanted to do a maintenance run in that very area.So along with Talla64 we hit the Pathway Wander trail. Nice weather, a nice easy trail shared with many cyclists & a couple of runners and good company. The caches were all fairly easily found by me, except for one which had been overgrown by blackberry. A couple needed some work with Talla64's secateurs to improve access, and two needed relocating. All in all, a successful afternoons work, and well worth the effort. We'd walked past this cache on the way south, but got it on the return. All good.Tftc Flowerydaze
I joined Flowerydaze on a maintenance run along the QE Park pathway and picked up one or two myself which I had missed in the past. We were joined by RogerW1nz and GB Leader to form a nice little raiding party. My has this path changed since we first put these caches in, especially the blackberry which seems to have taken over the whole of this part of the park. We did some pruning and moved a couple of caches to enable access to get to the caches. Thanks for the cache Flowerydaze
Great day out and about on our bikes, geocaching along the bike trails. We did about 40kms in the end, found 23 caches and had about 4 DNFs. Wonderful. Cache is all good. TFTC
Awesome cache just stowed behind the log recommend for others lots of things inside
**19,160**A lovely shared pathway and deserving of these cache placements (even if we are jumping all over the place with the collection of them. A nice quick find here, TFTC
With the household chores finished for the day it was time to head out for a walk with Lulu the dog.
I’d had this little trail on my list for a while. I’d never been on this walkway before. The last of the autumn weather was gorgeous and I enjoyed the walk collecting this series of caches along the way.
Another nice quick find. I turned around at this point and headed back to the car.
Gets a favourite point from me.

A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off for a wee break "up north" and today we cruised around the Kapiti Coast. Cyclone Gabrielle has had little effect hear that I can see. There was light rain with some strong wind gusts in the morning and this cleared up in the afternoon..
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Yup, logged it. Those blackberries! Darn, the black ones are still too sour. Thanks Flowerydaze
Out for a bit of exercise in between todays slight "tinkles" of rain and thought we might check out another couple of members of the Smurf trail. Being the hardened Geocachers that we are, we decided to forgo the nice flat easy route from Rainbow Ct for the steep gravel, gut busting, mountain from The Esplanade entrance. (Amateurs!) Fortunately though we made it to GZ for a nice quick find. Log sheet was a tiny bit damp but still completely sign able. TNLNSL TFTC
Quick find of Jailer Smurf — he should be employed to lock up the person throwing a dog poo bag next to cache. Cheers Flowerydaze!
Out on a lovely Saturday morning jaunt with Trinity Seagnoid and Twig and now joined by Justlooking00 and Itchyfeet2020. The sun is shining. Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Flowerydaze.
Driving thru this area with Itchyfeet2020 we decided to catch-up with some other fellow geocachers (TrinityNZ, NZ_B, Seagnoid, TwigNZ) who had earlier been chasing FTF's nearby.
A good location for a cache - made a quick group find on our trail stroll. TFTC Flowerydaze

Found with a whole bunch of others, standing in a group yakking in the sun. Will expand later.
I didn't have anything at all exciting planned for early this morning, having enjoyed a lie in and then put a wash on whilst sucking back my first coffee of the day. Then a couple of caches got published. Taking a look at them, I figured "nah" as I knew locals would have a much better chance than I to get the FTF. But then I got a phone call that basically acted as the catalyst for a great day indeed.
Grabbed my flatmate, and headed out the door to go and pick up the catalyst caller before heading up to look for them. By this stage, we were now a group of 6 and were heading back to our vehicles. But there's a cache just over there, 100m away! So of course we had to go and find it.
A quick and easy find at GZ, made by Itchyfeet2020 and finding no issues with the cache, the logging was sorted and everything replaced as found
Thanks for putting it out, and helping to make my day brighter.

I came out with TwigNZ for a bout of FTFing. Met up with TrinityNZ and the appropriate cache where we find we missed the mark by about half an hour. Then met up with a couple more friends, Itchyfeet2020 and JustLooking00 and we all piled into here. The cache was found in no time flat, and we all headed back to the fleet of cars. Rather a nice hide - looking very... foresty.
Somehow, I found myself out this way on a Wednesday night, as often seems to happen in the life of a geocacher. It was dark. I had used public transport to get here, and so would be using public transport to get home and I was aware that they stopped running at some point, but that was a problem for future me. Oh well, while I'm here I may as well find a few caches. So I did, and this was one of them.
I managed to circle the cache a few times before I find it, exactly where it had always been.
Thanks to the CO for enticing me to this place with the lure of a geocache.

My 8 year old felt a bit ripped off by the clue but appreciated it in the end

It didn't take long for us to locate this one. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next geo-hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this geocache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC
Enjoying a bike ride through QE park on a beautifully fine sunny, calm winter's day. Thanks for this straight forward find along your trail Flowerydaze.
Nice quick find in-between passing muggle cyclists

Lots of bikers out on a glorious Easter Saturday, so stealth def required! Hint object took some searching, but spotted it after a couple of minutes. All good in the cache, tftc!
Lovely Day to put some miles into the training and bruises to the shins with Dianne and Kimmy+co
First time out in the Queen Elizabeth Park, will need to come back to venture more in this wonderland

Decided today was a lovely day to try out the Smurf Trail. It wasn't quite what we were expecting, but a lovely walk none the less. We start out at the North end. Wasn't expecting as much bush bashing as we had to do, but found them all eventually. Lots of blackberries along the way gave the kids sustenance. Bumped into two lovely ladies who setup a little business giving away free lemonade (The Lil Lemonade Bike) and had the most delicious home made lemonade ever. Thanks for the cache and walk. Did with Mycro Man, Ezratar, Astro Hunter and Violet Butterfly
A nice afternoon to be out enjoying the sunshine (long may it last). Found the cache ok. Lots of memories of some great days down south came flooding back to me. Cheers and TFTC
Great to do this trail on a warm dry with very few muggles. An easy find so thanks CO for the cache.
Approached GZ and approached from different directions before finally locating. Then , oh no, my writing stick had disappeared from my pocket. Took a photo of the Smurf instead TFTC.
Sometimes, you just have to go cache hunting, even when the weather is miserable outside. DNF'd one nearby (or perhaps I didn't search properly), so headed over here for what I hoped would be easier pickings, and to restore some shred of caching credibility. General location easy enough to locate, but the best way to access this took me a moment or so longer. Was just about to exit, when a muggle came by, so I had to freeze in place (as opposed to just feeling frozen) until he had passed by and it was safe to emerge. TFTC!
Cache # 4,872 - This one took a while to find. It was in the obvious spot, but so well hidden that we had to take three different approaches to actually spot where it was. All good once there. Did with Violet Butterfly and Astro Hunter and Geo-Kelpie. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Did with The Wandering Dragons and Astro Hunter. AH and TWD did most of the searching while I watched the dog. Great day to be out. Thanks!

Found with mother and Pup. We identified the obvious spot as we meandered down the track. We branched off and made this a quick find. TFTC
We decided on a bit of a break from the farm and headed here to enjoy a little walk and to get some caches for the latest souvenir challenge.
It was such a beautiful day today. There were some muggles coming and going which we had to be mindful of, but not too bad at all.
This took us a while to spot but we got there eventually.
Thanks for putting this here for us to find

Down for a bike ride along this track to find some caches before the rain. Thanks Flowerydaze for the cache.
The last of this mini trail. and it was soon in hand when i looked just that bit further.
We decided to come for a mini holiday and at the same time help out NZ tourist industry so we came down to Paekakariki for a few days staying at the local motel which is very pleasant and run by friendly and helpful hosts with a lovely generous meal last night.
While husband did the 4hour Escarpment walk i looked around for a few other caches ( having done quite a few along there already) and a drive up to Raumati with a chance to catch up with old teachers Coll. friend also seemed the best idea.
so i set off along this walkway , wishing i had my bike!, and completed 5 caches before turning around and heading back .
All needed that second thorough look but all were in good condition and duly signed and replaced.
thank you for this mini trail of smurf caches.

Had to look twice but found it thanks. Didn’t have a pen, so took a photo of the log. Thanks.
I didn't quite make the correct approach to this cache site but I very quickly had it all sorted. The plastic bags used in this series aren't faring all that well but I think they are probably not needed as there is other protection that is working very well.
out and about on my mt bike today and enjoyed it through here as i have been cycling in the hills above Upper hutt
many thanks
Loved the Smurf trail

One of seven caches located today during a bike ride through Queen Elizabeth Park. This was the fourth in the Smurf series. Made hard work of finding this one. Looked in various spots but we hadn’t gone around the back. As with the previous find, it was Mrs tbird who did a better job than I did and came up with the goods! #3163. TFTC.
Called here with Mrs agcnz on a very warm afternoon on a walk to get 6 unfound caches along this path. A quick find here with good accurate coordinates and a good hint. Signed log, TFTC
Found during a midweek bike ride. Was a bit concerned about proximity to traps but a rethink took me on a better way in. TFTC
Went for a smallish geocaching trip through Queen Elizabeth Park after the school run. Turned out to be a horrible day for hay fever so my intended run turned into a sneezing ans spluttering stumble to tick of a few caches.
Another straightforward find here.

If you get to the trap you have gone too far. The wife found the cache on the other side as I had gone way too far.
A quick find this time -just a bit of "where would I have placed it?" led me straight to the spot.
Took a couple of looks around the wrong trees to revisit the first and obvious location where it was easily spotted.

#11,470. Returned to explore a bit further on Te Ara o Whareroa Trail in Queen Elizabeth Park, Paraparaumu. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

(# 5506). Came up the coast to go visiting. I decided to retrieve some of the new caches this morning before doing my duties. The trail had its fair share of cyclists and walkers but every time I reached the GZ it was all clear. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
My 2nd Smurf find of the morning. Great caches. Thanks so much to the CO. Will look for the rest on my next visit to Raumati.
Nearly lost little blue hen here as she spotted a coffee symbol en route and was sorely tempted. Decided it was such a lovely day we would take the dog we are dogsitting for a stroll and see if she could help sniff out a few caches. As it turned out little blue hen was a lot more use.Tftcsl
