Caching and bushwalking with my Mum today!! TFTC! Very cloudy but was still a great walk. I went to look for this cache but I was a bit cache blind and Mum ended up finding it before me!
Thank you rhubarbroad for putting a waterproof strip in the cache so we could sign it! Two trees to choose from had us searching for a bit TFTC
After coffees in Penguin, here we are for another visit to the Gnomon. Last time was well before we knew anything about caching. We're well ahead of schedule, so we decided to summit Mt Dial as well. Good lunch spot out of the wind, great views, and a very wet cache found. Little rodent marsupial has chewed the lid ! Luckily had waterproof strips with us, so one used here to sign log. Used empty zip lock lunch bag for that, and put old log back in its buggered bag. TFTC CoxFamily7310.
Occupied myself by imagining explaining how I got bitten by a snake to the nice helicopter rescue pilot while tentatively sticking my hand down the numerous murky holes under logs in this area, but alas... to no avail.
Nice walk from Ferndene up to Mt Dial. Lots of interesting mushrooms along the trail. Quick find while having a cup of tea. TFTC!
Finally ! Although, full disclosure, Duncan found it. Easily. Clue is good. Why I had failed to find it is, in retrospect, a puzzle. Thank you for the cache.
So close yet so far. In a rush. No time for proper search. GPS all over the place. Irritating that some say easy find. Next time maybe.
Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers climbing Mount Montgomery, Mt Gnomon and Mt Dial. A damp day so not a clear view but still a great walk. Glad to have these ticked off the list. TFTC
Today, caching with whitewebbs on a cloudy autumn day we decided to climb Mt Dial. As we headed off it started to rain, so on went the coats as we made a steady climb to the top. Once at the top the view was limited, but some sight could be seen. An enjoyable day out.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Fantastic walk up Gnomon and then across to Dial. Spectacular views every where as far as the eye can see. No problems finding the cache.
It was a beautiful clear summers day so after Mrs Y'stassie returned from an appointment in Burnie we decided to head off and find this cache, our closest unfound GC cache as well as 18 GCA caches nearby. Mrs Y'stassie elected to do the walk from the MT Gnomon car park while Mr Y'stassie drove the road between the car park and Mt Duncan.
The track was very dry and she had to take care as the dried leaves and small gravel on several of the steep sections of the track could become very slippery under foot. After finding the GCA cache on the Summit of Mt Gnomon she headed down a short track that took her to the Mt Dial track. The views along the way were spectacular today. She was surprised to see the large number of fruit tunnels on the farm land behind Mount Gnomon Farm - a new addition since we were last walking in this area.
As she approached the summit of Mt Dial she was overtaken by two young walkers. After a chat on the summit they moved off and she could begin her search. Her GPS was unstable but the hint soon had the container in hand. The container and contents were in very good condition.
Thanks for this cache CoxFamily7310 and for a magic caching experience. The views out to Mount Roland and Low Head were beautifully clear today. The trip took Mrs Y'stassie just under 3.5 hours. A favourite point has been added.

A Sunday off, and a target was picked. Mainly to fill in a D / T graph location. Mt Dial was the target cache. I set off with Geo Kid O for the couple of days
Started off driving to Launceston the night before and staying there the night. The next day I was up early to get to the Mt Dial cache. The walk up was very hard. My legs felt like concrete and eventually, they came right and I managed to get up the hard first slope. Finding all 4 caches (2 x GC and 2 x GCA) took 2 hours and 20 minutes, which I thought was good time. Strangely the GCA caches were harder to find, even though one was spotted straight away when at the correct level.
After returning to the car, we immediately set off to the Event cache. A very good event was hard with a number of caches released at the same time.
TFTC
Found this cache - which was the target for the day. The D / T combination was a requirement for me.
Favourite as it clears another spot

With local reserves etc opening up this week we went for a bit of a stroll in the Dials. Went in from Montgomery car park up over Dial & Gnomon then looped back via the PCT along Keddies Creek. Lovely weather and an easy walk. Grabbed this one along the way - nice spot for a cach.
Found it with my mum but she was too tall and I found it instead geo puffers tftc
Today I went out with gridge98 to collect some caches around the north west coast, our main goal was to get an FTF on top of Mt Dial but overall we just had a great day out having a look around the area.
Majority of the caches found were in great condition.
Thanks for the cache
*FTF* nice view

This was the main target for today, with FTF still up for grabs after nearly 2 months it was killing me and I wanted to find it, I asked JL rockstar if he was up for a walk, we set off from the car park and made the nice walk along the trail over the first hill picking up the cache then onto this one.
We arrived at the summit and unfortunately couldn’t see a lot due to the growth of trees, we made our way over and found the cache nicely tucked away, opened and found a nice and blank log book,
Then off we set back to the car and were happy with our efforts for the day, overall it took 1hr 20m for the whole walk and we were walking pretty slow.
Claiming *FTF* with JL Rockstar at 1155am
Thanks for the cache and the adventure
