5th find while out for a walk, collecting a few caches on the way. I headed down from near the reservoir, though I couldn't find a trail so I bush bashed. I saw a pair of wallaroos that had been near the previous cache, again they hopped away. A little further down the slope, I saw a wallaby, hopping at a great pace. Some seconds later I saw a fox running, followed by a mob of kangaroos, one of which was very dark, almost black. I have no idea what had startled all these animals. Soon I was on flatter ground near GZ and I spotted the hide. Log signed and all replaced and I continued to the next cache. TFTC.
How good are these caches up on Cooleman Ridge! All in good condition, and all in beautiful spots offering spectacular views out west.Gonna have to return one arvo with an esky and watch the sunsetthanks!
Out caching with Loci612 this morning doing a handful of caches around Cooleman Ridge. The weather was perfect which made it a beautiful day to explore with amazing views the whole way around the ridge.Another fantastic view! Thank you charlotteleclerc for the cache!
Has not been found for ages! Found today but our pen is out of ink. Will return to write in log.
A lovely around and over Mount Arawang and Cooleman Ridge today.
It became quite windy by the middle of the day, but the rain held off on the temperature was very pleasant.
We found this one quickly, will guarded by two redback spiders.
We encouraged them to move off with a couple of small sticks and soon had our name added to the log here.
Time to head uphill again.
Thanks charlotteleclerc

#16308 - 11:03:00 AM; Out on a caching run around Cooleman Ridge with Sol de lune. Collected the eleven caches I needed as we made our way around together initially before Sdl headed off and I continued for the last few solo, including this one. After my magpie encounter at the previous cache, I had no problems here and my name was soon in the log. TFTC charlotteleclerc
Found on a loop of the ridge. Cache was in a crack in the rock but not hidden for all to see who may sit on this rock. Replace now with rocks over it and it again fits the hint
Found on a big day walking Cooleman Ridge. Went through the hole in the gate first and then wandered up the slope a bit for a quick find. TNLNSL. TFTC charlotteleclerc!
Grabbing some caches on this nice early morning with Wilbert67.

A beautiful morning walk up down and around the mountain with J+J.AU that turned into a couple of hrs. Weather started out great for the day and turned pretty warm later on. All caches found fairly easy.

Founds whilst out on the ridge for a walk. Tops views to be had along these trails today.
I somehow managed to miss logging this cache when I found it with my geopals. It was a great day walking all over the Ridge. Thanks for this cache Charlotteleclerc.
After a long week at home working, the opposite of fun, I found a few trips to make over the long weekend. I joined a small group of cachers for a walk along the eastern part of Coolamon Ridge, and back up Mt Arawang for fun so the others could get those. A lot of up and down today, but we managed the multi, a where-i-go and several traditionals. I think the highlight was the boulder climb.
Thanks for the cache charlotteleclerc

Out with a small group today to collect some caches on Coolamon ridge. Great views from the top. Tftc
Lovely views from here. It was a lovely day to be out and about. Gentle breeze bright sunny day. Caches today signed by name or Capital Crunchers.

Found on a walk along with some friends on Cooleman Ridge. Great to be walking with more even elevation for a short while. Cache found in good condition. Thanks for hiding this cache charlotteleclerc
Great to see the track here as would take me back up the hill and then down to the car. After going through the gate I followed the pointer on the GPS and was soon looking at the GZ. A few rocks removed and the cache was hand. Log was signed, cache returned and I was soon heading back up said track.
Thanks for another one charlotteleclerc....turned out to be great afternoon for a wander around the area....and with another target cache in the same area, no doubt I'll be back in a couple of days.

A walk with Dino, Wilma and Hoppy on this wonderful Cooleman ridge with it grand views on the Bullen Range and beyond. We love the views and it is always a great place to come to with a number of unfound caches in the central bit of the ridge we did a nice loop for a decent catch of the day and got some great fotos and the soaked up the views.
Quick find, nice cache, all in good order.
Thank you charlotteleclerc for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

We listened to the horses as we contemplated. Such a peaceful spot, at least on a weekday. Tftc
Perfect contemplation spot. Not a person nearby and no sound other then the birds and the occasional motorbike.

Exploring some more of Cooleman Ridge today. The views either side are fantastic
TFTC Out on the MTB this evening, making the most of the best of daylight saving. There’s not many muggles about today.
Grateful thanks to CO for placing and maintaining the caches to entertain me on my journey.

Decided to try for a long caching hike today, so headed out with a bag full of swag, two cans of Diet Coke, and 700ml of water. We hadn't expected it to be so hot (the forecast got it wrong - surprise!) so had to ration the drinks. 4.5 hours after we set out, we arrived back at the car, hot, tired and covered in grass seeds (for the most part, the grass was taller than Saf!), but glad to have added so many smilies to our list. We left either Ooshies, safety whistles, or Simpsons Lego minifigs in each one that could fit swag.
This one was a nice quick find after stumbling our way here from the last cache, and managing to avoid a huge mob of roos that were basking in the sun. Still loving these views. TFTC!

22,234. Found with minniek during an afternoon's caching around south Canberra.
Picked up minniek from work and we headed down this way for an afternoon's caching. After a few fun (?) tree climbs we then ventured up to Cooleman Ridge for a circuit collecting 7 caches. This was the next one, and after the journey through the long long grass and along the track, a nice quick find at GZ. Signed the cache, replaced it as found, and then on to the next one.
Thanks charlotteleclerc !!

Out for a Saturday meander with Fox in Jox before breakfast. We were rewarded with fabulous views towards the Brindabellas with low lying fog making the views as pretty as a picture. I nabbed 6/6 caches on our walk, he nabbed 7. Then off to breakfast at our new favourite cafe in Denman Prospect.
Third one of the morning and a quick find at GZ. Then up the hill!

#54. Nice little hide - quick find on our way around the hill. So many horses in the paddock nearby!
I have been kind of putting off Cooleman Ridge for a long time as the geofamily occasionally ask me for a nice nearby caching walk....but then they see the hills and balk at the idea.... so, as of this morning there are 16 hides up their waiting for me.
There clearly a few more coming.... 3 or 4, but never mind, they will keep for the next 6-12 months....maybe I will save them for a family walk.
Today I was out with Aquilus1 again, on a beautiful day. A little windy perhaps but it was just so nice out there.

We were certainly contemplating how steep this hill looks!

This morning I thought I'd explore the northern part of Cooleman Ridge. It got a bit blustery at times, but luckily the rain held off. A great morning picking up more caches. Thank you clc.
Big Thank You to StrangeTrousers for convincing me to espcape the house for some midweek fun caching. Have missed time out exploring and with the views out today it is understandable who. Stunning place to visit. Took along my walking poles for the hills but hardly needed them due to some clever work from my geobuddy with planning the route. It was the perfect day not to cold, the sun was out and caches found.

#6063 7th for today
Perfect mid-week caching weather today so I dragged CBRChic out of hibernation and headed down to Cooleman Ridge. I never get tired of the views over the back towards the Brindabellas from here. I used to live down this way. I've cached here a few times over the years but now there is a bunch of new caches to make a new trip well worth while. We managed to minimise the amount of climbing with a carefully chosen route and no misses today.
Thanks charlotteleclerc

**This Cache:**
Went through the fence, had a quick look and found the cache, was already signing the log by the time DSD snapped out of his day dream and joined me
Thanks!
---
**Today:**
It had been over a week since I last went out to hike in a quiet location and get out of the work / home routine so decided it was time for another isolation exercise afternoon
Myself and DSD chose Cooleman Ridge today, as I had many unfound caches up there! In fact it was probably my largest cluster of unfound caches in Canberra!
It was a good afternoon, only saw a couple of other people out and about from distances but we had the place mainly to ourselves to search for each cache unhindered! We ended up with 14 total finds and no DNF's which was an awesome effort!
Thanks to all the CO's

In these uncertain times it's still legal to exercise, and fortunately geocaching is one of those pastimes that you can still enjoy without being scrutinized. Parked at Darrell place and did a 5.5km loop picking up caches. Tftc
A lovely easy 3.1km walk around the ridge to pick up this good series of caches. A cool day with rain in the distance where we could see where the fires have ravaged Mt Tennant. TFTC charlotteleclerc.
A quick find this morning after picking up a few other caches in the the area. thanks
The Wednesday bushwalkers walked around Cooleman Ridge this morning which provided the opportunity to seek out 11 traditional geocaches in the area, of which I found ten. This one was a straightforward find, being in an obvious spot on the coordinates. Thank you charlotteleclerc for installing and maintaining this cache.
I had some time this morning and also needed to find a few caches in the Cooleman Ridge area. Turned it into a loop got on my bike and off I went. TFTC
Spotted this on a walk yesterday, but waited for another day to grab it. Today was it. I added a bit of camo as it was pretty visible.
A short walk for a quick find. BUT I then went and drove on to a multi cache to solve only to discover I have to come back here sigh. TFTC.

Out caching before the rain settles in, targeting caches that involve some walking wherever possible. A quick find here. Left TB. TFTC.

Thanks,
Thanks,
The last of four caches in this area for Decrypter and me today. It has been a pleasant walk. TFTC charlotteleclerc.
Be very careful of the redbacks that have made their nest around this cache. I used a stick to remove the cache so I could sign the logbook. I signed the cache either DSD or DARKSIDEDAN.
I love discovering Geocaches, Trackable items and collecting Pathtags. I have added your cache to my growing list of “Found It” logs. I hope that you enjoy Geocaching as much as I do. For me geocaching is a way of life. When I am not Geocaching, I am thinking of Geocaching. I would like to say a very big than you for placing your geocache and for maintaining it for the Geocaching Community. In 2019, I won the right to place a Virtual 2.0 Cache from Geocaching.com, but I have not placed it yet. I am just trying to find somewhere that is worthy of a Virtual Cache.
Here is a little information about me. I have been geocaching since 2015. At the time of finding this cache I have over 5600 finds plus 340 hides. I am the creator of the “Duck Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Place for the Australian Capital Territory in the State Vs State - Battle of the Lab Caches at the OzGeoMuster - The Gong Mega 2019 in Wollongong, Australia.
Now let’s talk Pathtags. Currently I have over 4600 Pathtags in my collection plus about 500 Etagz. I currently have two of my own Pathtags (45762 & 46950) with another one in the works.

I have included with my Found It log an Original and One of a Kind, Geocaching poem that I have written. I hope that everyone who reads it gets some enjoyment out of it.
Geocache Poem by DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

I am currently writing very detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author". This Badge challenges geocachers to write logs with an average length of more than one hundred words per log. As of the 14th August 2019 my average Found It log is 125 words per log. I would like to get all my logs up to more than 200 words per log but I will have to wait and see how I go. Currently I am just trying to get my average up by finding and logging as many geocaches as I can. My apologies to anyone who finds my lengthy logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain the highest level with this challenge. After more than 5,800 geocaches (which includes all cache finds up and including this cache, I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task very soon. Progress has been better than anticipated.

Chooo ooo [FTF] - with dty73 and Aquilus1 on a mild night. We saw these new caches come out, just as we were about to watch the Downunder podcast, so we had to let them wait a little while! After the podcast, we headed straight off! It was a bit of huffing and puffing up the hill and down the other side to get to this one, but the views from the top, and the company made it all worth while! – And with a cache naming convention that I personally like – what is there to complain about! Thanks CleC for the cache.
*FTF* 9.16pm with dty73 and Tankengine. I was over at dty73's house with Tankengine and Joolay for dinner and to watch the podcast when the new caches were published. Published right on cue, again, as has become the way on such a night... I think the reviewers are onto us! Anyway, we left the new caches for our yummy dinner and the podcast, but once finished and a look showed they were still available, so we made the move to head out to them.
Nothing like climbing the side of a steep hill after an enjoyable evening... didn't even feel the cold either. Wasn't long and the jumper was off as we trekked upwards along the trial, and then downwards along the trail some more, well aware that it would all need to be done on the way back.
The night lights seen along the way and from the very top of the hill were actually very nice, was actually a pleasant evening to be out although it took a little to warm into it.
Thanks for the cache charlotteleclerc, quite enjoy a bit of night caching so was good to be out this evening... and good to tick off the October FTF early on as well.
