We are spending a few days in Point Lonsdale for our Anniversary and today we have come into Queenscliff to have a look at caches around here. After spending some time on a WP of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, we headed here for this cache. Cache was a nice easy find after waiting for muggles to pass by. TFTC au.fait - GJMMelb

Spring Victorian Incursion 2024.Day Twelve: Geelong and Queenscliff(e).Weather: perfect for geocaching. Another fairly quick find here now that all the beach goers have gone for the day. The cache was tricky to get to. A bit damp inside, but waterproof paper. Thanks for this hide Bushfire/au.fait.

Sunny but rainy day, perfect geocaching conditions as almost 0% chance of muggles Very Happy TFTC

Cabin fever (not contagious) had us fleeing the house after the winds had dropped. The cache was easy to locate ... getting it was a challenge for the rotund! TFTC

Huge newsthis was find number 11,000 for the one and only Toyhunters! And Baristayan and I had the pleasure and the privilege of being with him when he plucked this from its hidey hole.We were also with him for number 10,000, in another state in another year in another time. Big congratulations to the man, the myth, the legend and future president of the Geocaching universe.Absolutely loving our time caching in and around Geelongthanks!

11,000th find. A mere 9 months after my first 5-digit milestone, I'm pretty chuffed! Amazing that baristayan and buckoraider could be there to witness both of the milestones, I very much appreciate their friendship. Queenscliff is also such a lovely location, the views from the beach here were amazing. The cache took a couple of minutes to find, even though I was so close to it when I first started searching. Sneaky hide. The log was a little wet, but then baristayan did well to dry it for me to sign. TFTC! And thanks to all of the cache owners out there, you all rock!

So happy to come here to get toyhunters 11K milestone! We were there with him on his 10K and it feels like yesterday when he was writing his first logs on paper. This time we left him to his devices and after bit of a struggle he came up with the cache.Thank you Bushfire for this hide

A pleasant stroll down the boardwalk with my muggle friend I am holidaying in Queenscliff with. She made the find- a clever spot. TFTC

No luck. Always unsure how far, if at all, to walk into the bushes with these ones.

02-Mar-24
Day 2 of a ten week sojourn from the Apple Isle to the south. Ordinary windy weather today, but guessing that is normal for 360 days, and maybe 361 in a leap year ! hah ! just joking ............. Dreaded looking for this one, but accurate co-ords allowed it to be honed in upon quickly enough. Groping around is always a bit scarey, but came away with a find and no harrowing experiences. All good at GZ, thankyou au fait.

On the 01/12/2019 I placed this guy, gee that is four or five years ago, time flies. This cache along with over a hundred and fifty others have been adopted out to other folk who I hope are happy to look after these guys as the ageing Bushfire has developed a health problem that will only get worse so a big thanks to all these great friends. Finally, I must thank my good friend au.fait for looking after this guy as it has got to the stage when I must pass it on and wish it good luck for the future. I know it is in good hands. Thanks for all the great logs that have been placed over many years.

Found easily for my first find in Queenscliff. My 40th Victorian LGA completed means I've found caches in exactly half of them. Thanks to the cost of public transport in Victoria being reduced means that so many areas are now so much more accessible. TFTC

Tftc bushfire. In the little hamlet of St Leonards for a couple of nights with friends.
Wandered over to the winter soltise activities at Queenscliff and against the flow of the passing parade I wandered onto the boardwalk and a relatively quick find, log was signed.

My caching senses must be in tune today. As I approached the GZ, I anticipated to spend much more time looking for the cache than what I did. Fortunately it was in the first place that I looked. The log was a little wet, but still able to be signed. Thanks for this devious little hide.

A long weekend with gwd.aussie caching staying in Geelong but spending yesterday in Ballarat. This morning taking a side trip doe to Queenscliff to grab a few caches in the LGA before we have to start heading homeward bound.
Straight forward find here today.

Thanks Bushfire

Continuing our exploration of this beautiful area. We are so happy to have the opportunity to finally visit this part of the coastline of Australia.
The sun is shining, there is a good breeze and the water looks Aqua today.
We found this one quickly and have added our name to log.
Thanks Bushfire

Just had a few minutes as the storm clouds were building behind us!

21-Jan-23
Our tour bus made a stop at the park here and a quick check showed us two caches nearby. We enjoyed following the boardwalk down a wind-swept view of the sea, and of course, the smiley! TFTC, Bushfire!

20-Jan-23
After getting a sorbet fix from the nearby Scandavian Ice Cream Palour we decided the best place to get rid of all the excess energy was down at the playground. Seeing an opportunity to sneak away from swing pushing detail, I took it and quickly signed the log down along the boardwalk.
Thanks for the find Bushfire.

After a scorching day, I popped out late evening for a wee mtb ride. It was very quiet down here so a very quick find without having to dodge any muggles. Many thanks

Great hide. Didn't expect to cache so Didn't have a pen. I sent you a pic. Hope you accept that. It was a bit wet inside the cache. TFTC.

Realised we came without a pen... but definitely found it 25th September 2022. TFTC

I knew it was there your coords aren't usually off. Thinking of your hides yep ok.

With a group of scouts hiking to Geelong. While they hike and I support, my support is geocaching and catching up in the car/bike. Lol.

Hopefully get a few done today.

T and M of iTEEM had the opportunity to spend a couple of days at Ocean Grove and braved the windy and slightly damp conditions to search out some local caches.
Thankfully very few muggles about today to complicate the search. After a poke about at the coordinates without success, we worked one way and then the other, only to find the container right where we'd first (not thoroughly enough) searched. The cute little container was a little smaller than I was expecting, and very neatly tucked away indeed.
TFTC au.fait

I hadn't been to Queenscliff before, and when day1976 finally had free time to go caching, we jumped at the chance. Early morning start, a long drive and we made it to the edge of Queenscliff by 9am.
Many caches done throughout the day, and we decided to stop at the nearby park for lunch, but first did the couple of nearby caches.
Took a while searching but finally day1976 reached a bit further and got it in the original spot we'd been looking.

28-Aug-22
Enjoyed a day out with ilukaperi finding geocaches in Queenscliffe today. I had only ever found a handful of geocaches in Queenscliffe before, so that's why the location was chosen. Plus it was a good day as it had been 16 weeks since my last geocache find. So it was nice to be out again.

A lovely walk in, was found between passing groups of muggles. Just need to put the hand a little further in than you think.

*The "Gotta Sorta Isolate, But Can't Stay In The House" Adventure #2*
I'm Day 8 of my seven-day isolation period. I'm still feeling scratchy around the nose and throat, but SueHut has people coming over. I need to clear out, just in case. A no-contact Geocaching adventure in the offing!
This may very well turn into a "chase SueHut and DesHut" day. They've been out this way twice in the last few weeks, and I'm finding things they recently found. I heard *a lot* about this cache from SueHut, so there was a reasonable tip-off.
Thanks heaps, Bushfire!

31-Jul-22
Found it. Nice hide

29-Jul-22
Bloody hell. I looked for ages and even crawled under the boardwalk from all sides and directions but could not find it for the life of me. Wet for nothing

29-Jul-22
Found it after a hint from the owner and a cup of tea to get my caching eyes back on. Put my hand straight on the damn thing this time. You do not have to clamber right under like I did

29-Jul-22
A bad back hampered my participation in the finding of this one . Luckily I was caching with my daughter and she happily did the heavy work, or should I say the contortions required. A well chosen site and excellent coords meant the task should have been straightforward. However, despite my vigorous cheering from the sidelines, suehut made a real meal of the job. We were saved by the CO being kind enough to answer our pleas for help, and even came down to ensure we found it . That's the lovely part of caching. Thanks for everything .

15-Jul-22
Found by changing tracks. Good fun cache.

22-Jan-22
Out for an early morning walk along the beach with au.fait, I stopped to find this little gem. Thanks Bushfire.

17-Jan-22
It was a matter of picking the right one and dodging the boardwalk pedestrians. The GPS had us at the wrong one. A successful find nevertheless after looking further afield. Had a walk across the burning hot sand and to the beach for a paddle afterwards. Kids weren't very helpful for finding caches today. Tftc.

Cute kid friendly cache. Grabbed whilst at the park. Thanks for lacing the cache here.

15-Jan-22
First one of the day and found it in no time at all. The log is a tad damp, but signable. TFTC

10-Jan-22
Wandered a bit further down to look for one more cache before I reach the edge of the kid's patience. Even though they offered little assistance here at gz, at least they weren't complaining while I searched. After a few false starts I spotted the hide and was soon adding my name to the log, thanks for the cache Bushfire.

04-Jan-22
Found on a day exploring Queenscliff. Kids were having a play at the playground when we made this find. Nice quick find however log a bit wet. Tftc.

03-Jan-22
