I was out today with the main aim of picking up a particular cache to finish off qualification for a challenge cache I was hoping to complete. Before heading out this morning I quickly put together a list of other caches I could visit in the area. My route took me past this archived cache so I stopped to see if it was still in place. After quite a long search I eventually found it in position, covered by grass, but the lid was cracked and the container full of water and the contents a soggy mess. As the cache has been archived I removed the cache and contents so it is no longer geo-pollution.
Found it after a bit of a scratch around. Cache has crack in the lid and a bit of water in it. Contents are all good though.
With a guest staying with us I’ve got limited opportunity to cache… so decided to collect a couple of horses today…
Having read some logs I came prepared to replace the container with a selection but had nothing large enough, so instead I replaced the snap lock bag and added some silica to help with the damp…

Catching up on some late logs.
Out and about with BJA3 on a very wet day with the recent rains. Cache was quickly located at the GZ with no real issues apart from being a bit damp. Log is okay and still easily signable.
TFTC and bringing us to this spot!

Out and about with Team Barritts picking up smiley's where we could.

Unfortunately another dnf for the day. Not saying it isn't there could be cache blindness. Sad to be the first to log a dnf
An easy find but mind the prickles! The GPS unit came in handy close in as the trees were interfering with the phone app quite a bit. TFTC.
Container has degraded and contents are getting wet despite ziploc bags. If next could bring a replacement container, that would be great. We did not have one today.
Found it. When I got close to ground zero, I knew I had to do a 10m wide birth on it as there was nothing there that I thought that stood out. Could be my phone though. Also left a trackable inside.
Out rounding up a couple of horses today and soon had this one. Lid getting a little crisp, signed log and replaced cache as found. TFTC
The offsider and I were on our way to our next job when I remembered I needed to grab a cache for a challenge I'm slowly chipping away at. I was after a cache that would be quick and easy that didn't require a marathon to get to, and that's when I decided on this one, I've eyed it off several times in the past, but never had the opportunity to stop off for the grab. I convinced the offsider to pull over and said I needed to relieve myself in the nearby bush, I had other priorities and that was to grab this cache.
After a short walk from our parking spot I arrived at GZ and with a few spins around the cache was spotted. With the log quickly signed it was time to head back to the car and get back to work.
Thank you for giving me a reason to visit.

Last find in the bushland today. A short walk from the trail and checked an obvious spot to place the cache. Found it was called and log singed. TFTC
Last of the Belmont bushland caches and after a tricky approach to GZ (I took the hard way) and a bit of scouring, I was outdone by NurseyJulie who located the cache as I was circling around. Right, add my name to the list will you please.
All done, we'd knocked up a serious step count, got all hot and bothered along the way and tidied up all but two caches in the area. Sadly, they are at opposite ends...
Thanks for the caches in here handshow.

Needing a bit of nature therapy after work today so I stopped in here to grab this and a few others in the area. Easy find as promised, tftc
Out with KerriMG and we decided we had time for one more. Maybe we should have driven a bit closer as it was getting a bit hot by now so happy to make an easy find. TFTC handshow
Out for the morning with nikid1. This was our last horse to be found today before heading back to the car & some well needed air con.

Out caching with Milsyfynnmiester today.
We met at the car park at 6am to try and get them before it got too hot!
I solved all these at home and was telling Mitchie about them as we went - with the goal of trying to get her more interested in puzzles!
I had done some of the trads in here but she hadn’t so we did the whole circuit. According to my app it was a nice 8km walk. The hills were a bit rough in places! we saw a kookaburra, and a wallaby on our trip.
Glad we finished up just before the heat kicked in! Spent just as long enjoying a cafe brekkie as we spent caching, together makes a perfect trip! Lovey little reserve - I forgot about the Adventure Lab in here so I’ll be back TFTCes

Out chasing stray horses and the magnificent seven, it was back to the car using shanks pony. This would have been a much better walk being towed behind a Clydesdale.
Stayed within the park boundary and crossed newly laid mulch. At GZ spotted the tell tale signs of a hide and a brief reflection of sunlight from the ground reassured me that this was the spot. Thanks handshow for freeing the horses on the hillside.

After logging a DNF up the hill, I decided to head down to a blue face from the past.
It must have been a cloudy day last time I was here. GPS pointed me right to the cache and it was quickly uncovered. Good to turn a blue face yellow.

After finding a nearby oldie for the Oldest and Finest challenge, I decided to continue through the Belmont Bushland to find some of the other caches. Being a visitor here as I don't often get an opportunity to venture across the river, I thought I would make the most of it today.
Arriving at gz it took me a few minutes to spot the hide, as I turned around the light reflecting off the cache caught my eye. The co-ords were a bit out, probably my phone as it does love to play tricks with me.
Thanks for the cache handshow, all is well with it.

It was dark and my husband helped me find this one so we could finish the circuit.
I on holidays and due to covid 19 I can't go anywhere so I decided to bike ride here . This was my first find and iamt took me a long time. I was nearly going to give up when I spotted it tucked away. I did bring hand gel to clean my hands so cache is safe for the next finder just in case. Thanks for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
Attempted this one in the dark, did not go well lol much easier to find when you can actually see. Plus I saw a big ass snake. Atleast 1.5 metres
Tftc Handshow!
Attempted this one once before at night time. Came back today to find in the day light. Found a giant spider, a large snake and the cache.
SL as CJH
Cheers

Parked in front of the "No entry" gate, hoping the find would not take too long. Spent longer searching than I should have because the gps kept changing its mind about where GZ was. Located in the end OK, added to the log and replaced it. I love the sign with all the rules including "Keep to the path" - WHAT PATH? No swaps today. TFTC handshow. Another equine adventure today proving that slow and steady comes last!
We had to look very hard for this one and nearly walked into a spider all 3 but we managed to find it in the end Tftc
So many ‘possible’ hiding spots for the cache, but it was found in a logical spot in the end.
Enjoying the day out walking with E_Smiley and picking up a few caches whilst in this local area.
Like this little horse series, neat hide here.

Another horse! Wish they were real, could really help us get these caches quickly then attend RoddyC's 12,000th find celebration later.
TFTC handshow. Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment. It's nearly 2 years since I saw you. Hope you'll attend some events too!

Cache 18 of 20 today! I was on the southside of town, generally hunting QLD's oldest 100 or oldest 500 caches (with a few slipping into the list because they were so close, or filled in a DT hole).
After a very stressful week of work, it was good to expend some energy, push my lungs a bit harder, and suck in some fresh air. GZ is beautiful, as to be expected, and I really enjoyed the short walk.
Unfortunately the solitude was broken by the repeated sound of gunfire . I panicked for a while until I remembered the range nearby. I went shooting there as a teenager as part of Army Cadets. Fun memories - right until the gunpowder got into my sunburned. That feels VERY uncomfortable!
TB visit.

Take two on today’s mission to find a cache to shade another day on my geocaching calendar . This one was looking a bit tricky too and with poor sandals getting prodded by sticks and things, and a huge array of possible options I started questioning my abilities . Must be the cancerian in me! One more circle ️ later and I saw the blighter just looking at me from afar yippee ! I gratefully signed the good sized log and tucked back away as found. Tftc - 98 days to go!!
Whilst getting my badge for saying farewell to 2019i thought I might as well get one more as I still have a couple in this bushland to collect. I approached the area and thought there was a nice big feature to hide a cache. My GPS took me to a clear patch that couldn't possibly house a regular sized cache so I went and searched the obvious spot and came up with the goods.
The log is in perfect condition, but the lid of the cache is starting to crack a bit. It doesn't need replacing now, but it may in the near future.
Left a few swaps too as I just got a fresh stock from that Chinese website that sells everything.
Goodbye 2019!

Knew what I was looking for now, and after a bit of bush turkeying, I uncovered the hide, my last for the day. Tftc
Working on my November Challenge.
These caches are close to home and I have spent a fair amount of time resisting the urge to log them earlier.
I walked around looking for this cache, then the T rating had me looking in the wrong places.
The prone rang and I spoke I spotted a corner of the cache
Thank you for this cache

A little late in logging..
sometimes everyday stuff gets in the way
Having parked in an appropriate place I made my way here, noticing I could have reached the previous one from here too. I rounded the corner onto the path and then veered left into the scrub. I had to do a couple of rounds all the while being barked at by a dog across the street. Sheesh! calm down buddy, I'm nowhere near you.
Found cache well concealed, breathed a sigh of relief...the dog will now cease its noise!
After signing log and replacing cache I was on my way to the next one.

Enjoyed my walk.
I had parked in a spot where I could attack the 3 caches in the area and headed to this one. I have problems picking out the direction of sound and wondered where the banging was coming from and it wasn't until I was near the motorway that I realised it would be shooting coming from the rifle range on the other side of the motorway. Satisfied that my life was not in danger I headed to the search area and spent quite some time searching over the same spots repeatedly and finally I spotted the sneaky hide.

This one had me wandering around in circles for far too long. But eventually I found a spot I hadn’t checked before. And yep, there’s the glint. Container in hand and log signed. Thanks for the cache
This was to be a pitstop (fast by definition) on way home from an early morning trip to Carindale. Just grabbing one cache as footwear is not suitable for a romp in the bush. Then the smartyphone decided to play let's spin in circles and get dizzy as I tried to locate the cache. No overhead powerlines, no reason, just the mobi being it's usual unreliable self.
Read the previous log and thought, oh well, why not stand still and look for something... Anything! and spotted a glint of colour right away. Depending on how the cache is replaced that may/may not help future searchers.
TFTC handshow! Thx for hiding more local caches

Found @2.47pm
Mrs VC left me to enter the coordinates for our next target into the Geo-Beast's GPSr while she headed in for the cache.
Having followed instructions & co,pleted my chores I wandered towards GZ to see Mrs VC poking hither & thither but NOT finding the cache.
Again the compass wasn't playing fair but rather was leading us in circles but I soon got it to settle & spied a small reflection which turned out to be the cache.
Nicely tucked away.
Made our mark & replaced as found.
