Found it eventually. GPS was all over the shop so we gave up and searched everywhere! TFTC
After a noisy walk beside the highway, the GPSr indicated it was time to go bush. Arrived in the vicinity of a likely hiding spot and soon had the cache in hand.
Both Willis007 and I had solved the 7 series of caches, so we decided it was time to find them. I had never been to this park before so there were lots of trads for me to find too. Soon found and log signed. Tftc
You just have to love a south east Queensland winter, whilst the mornings can be cool the days are often bright and pleasing and a trip over to the south side to find caches is a lovely way to spend a morning.
After finding an appropriate spot to park the geowagon, I walked over to collect the prize. It was soon found, log extracted and signature added before returning safely for the next cacher to find.
Very pleased to be able to turn this cache into a yellow smilie and off of search of my next adventure.
A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.
Cheers

I have become a lazy fat so and so. So in an effort to up my step count, on a slow Sunday morning, I looked to some southside hills for a bit of exercise. After a climb all over the Belmont bushland, I figured it would be rude not to collect the last few caches in the area whilst I was here.
The last of the horses today. Surprised it wasn't a bit jittery with the booming racket coming from the other side of the highway. Everything was in surprisingly good order here, TFTC handshow

I was out today with the main aim of picking up a particular cache to finish off qualification for a challenge cache I was hoping to complete. Before heading out this morning I quickly put together a list of other caches I could visit in the area, including this one.
This was my last cache before heading home. The walk to GZ was accompanied by the constant booms of gunshots from the nearby rifle range. Once onsite I had to widen my search and eventually found the cache safely tucked away and in good condition. TFTC

From a distance away this looked like the obvious spot, but up close the GPS disagreed. Common sense prevails. TFTC handshow!
Found the cache in good condition. Signed the
Log and put it back for the next hunter. Saw a wallaby on the walk in which was a bonus.

This one nearly had me beat. It is a bit away from the GZ. Looked around the spot twice before I found it. TFTC
With a guest staying with us, I have limited opportunity to cache, so elected to collect a couple of horses… and this was my second and final find of the day…
I wasn’t surprised by the container this time… tftc…

Out and about with BJA3 picking up some smiley's. Cache was quickly located at the GZ with no real issues apart from being a bit damp. Log is okay and still easily signable.
TFTC and bringing us to this spot!

Out with Team Barritts cleaning up more of our map.
Tftc and bringing us here - never seen the Gateway from this position before.

I don’t know how I missed this one the first time because it’s exactly where I was looking. TFTC
We almost gave up but one last effort yielded a result! Yes, it should have been obvious but it was starting to rain, kids, dog and partner were a bit over it all as it was our fourth cache after being up and down the hill already. Was good practice for the GPS unit as the signal was bouncing all over with the app. This one was dry and in good condition. Beautiful spot, shame about the noise (unless cars and gunshots are your thing). TFTC
The container has been replaced with a nice, fresh, new one. Thanks to the cachers who reported the water problem. All good to go now
This was a easy cache of the trail, but the hill to get here. However this cache also need maintenance and there is water all through the cache
Out rounding up a couple of horses today and had a little trouble at GZ because my GPS was sending me other places. Abandoned that and looked in the obvious area and soon had a cache in hand. Quite a bit of water in cache but the log book in plastic bag was damp but dry enough for me to sign. Tipped the water out and replaced all as found. Needs a new lid to stop water entering it. TFTC
Heading out of the bushland and collected this one along the way. Soon discovered it as per the clue. TFTC
The penultimate cache for NurseyJulie and I to turn into a smiley in this patch of bushland. It took a couple of minutes to reveal itself, but NJ eventually spotted the container and removed it for business. After a seriously long DNF hunt on the last cache, it was nice not to leave anymore behind today.
Cheers handshow.

Needing a bit of nature therapy after work today so I stopped in here to grab this and a few others in the area. Easy find as promised, tge container was full of water that was coloured blue from the disclaimer, the log is nice and dry. Dried out container and contents, tftc
A walk through the bush to this one. But a quick find fir our troubles. TFTC handshow
Out for the morning with nikid1. We bushbashed our way across to this one & soon had the cache in hand. Log signed & replaced as found.

Out caching with Milsyfynnmiester today.
We met at the car park at 6am to try and get them before it got too hot!
I solved all these at home and was telling Mitchie about them as we went - with the goal of trying to get her more interested in puzzles!
I had done some of the trads in here but she hadn’t so we did the whole circuit. According to my app it was a nice 8km walk. The hills were a bit rough in places! we saw a kookaburra, and a wallaby on our trip.
Glad we finished up just before the heat kicked in! Spent just as long enjoying a cafe brekkie as we spent caching, together makes a perfect trip! Lovey little reserve - I forgot about the Adventure Lab in here so I’ll be back TFTCes

Heading back to the car on shanks pony, came across an Appaloosa. Not sure if the horse circumvented quarantine and is hiding out on the hill. If the horse did so, it must feel at home hearing the repeated pops, cracks and bangs of firearms and the roar of motor vehicles. Thanks handshow for freeing the horses on the hillside.
A short wander along the border fence, with traffic roaring past along the freeway, brought me close to the cache, and a walk into the bush soon confirmed my suspicion - the cache has to be "there". and it was. Added a name to the log, and ambled back to the chariot parked by the road. TFTC, handshow.
After finding a nearby oldie for the Oldest and Finest challenge, I decided to continue through the Belmont Bushland to find some of the other caches. Being a visitor here as I don't often get an opportunity to venture across the river, I thought I would make the most of it today.
Geopup and I continued our journey along the paths and arrived at GZ where the cache was found quickly. I suddenly realised what the noises were we kept hearing - we were right across the road from the rifle range. A couple of them spooked geopup, but she soon got used to it.
Log signed and all replaced as found. Thanks handshow for the cache.

This is my first week of 4 weeks holidays and I decided to take my mountain bike for a ride around here. This was my 11th and last cache found around here today. I loved the ride/walk around here and looking forward to coming back to find the rest . Thankyou for placing this cache here for us to enjoy .
Enjoying the day out walking with E_Smiley and picking up a few caches whilst in this local area.
Like this little horse series, another neat hide here.

GPS was a bit bouncy and led me to the wrong spot. But I saw some inviting fallen wood that might be a good hiding spot. Turns out it was the next pile.of wood

Once I found this I realized what I needed to look for at my next stop. Left my name and headed off. Tftc
Sunday morning... Yoga followed by meditation followed by a wander through bush in the smokey air to the plink! plink! of nearby gunfire. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the skies opened up and rain soaked the ground?
A quick find at GZ and thinking it would be wise to find air conditioning to hide in and maybe there will be hot ️ Retrieved a couple of trackables to move on
TFTC handshow, the horses have been rounded up
(Incorrect date entered in logbook)

Working on my November Challenge.
These caches are close to home and I have spent a fair amount of time resisting the urge to log them earlier.
Cache quickly found, picked out a geocoin from the trackables in the cache
Thank you for hiding this cache

A quick find after I stopped following my bouncy GPS.
Dropped off three travel bugs. One from Hobart and two I forgot to take with me around Australia.
TFTC!

Sorry for the late log.
After the noisy dog at the last cache I enjoyed the quiet here and felt relaxed and happy to be caching in this patch of scrub.
I determined early on where I thought cache would probably be found, but after what I thought was a pretty good look around i branched out. I eventually went back to my starting point where I found cache tucked away. So much for my first look!
Log signed and cache returned to where found awaiting the next cacher.

It was a warm day but I wanted to get these caches so I headed off from the previous find towards this one with the sound of gunfire coming over the motorway.
I headed to GZ and for some reason I walked past the hiding spot and searched elsewhere for 10 minutes before I headed close to that spot and spotted the cache as I approached.

The GPS wanted me elsewhere but I kept being drawn back to the obvious feature. After I couple of circuits, I finally spotted what I was after. Thanks for the cache

Found @ 3.15pm (I think)
Mrs VC was keen to take one for the team here as it was a little over a 300 metre walk & we weren't sure I'd be able to hobble that far in the heat.
It was agreed that Mrs VC wouldn't spend too long searching as it was quite hot & we were out of water, I didn't want to have to go in after her.
Several minutes had gone by since Mrs VC had disappeared from view & I was beginning to wonder if she was having difficulty.
I decided to take a slow wander towards GZ & see what happened.
As I got to within about 70 metres I could see her through the trees & undergrowth, poking around still looking, so I headed in ... quietly.
I got to within about 15 metres when the leaves crunching underfoot gave away my approach.
Mrs VC had just found the cache.
It always happens this way ... if either one of us go after a cache, leaving the other behind, & can't find it then just the approach of the other of us seems to clarify our vision for a quick find ... either that or we don't want to lose out to each other? LOL ...
Made our mark & replaced as found then made a slow return to the Geo-Beast, enjoying each other's company wandering through nature without intrusion.
