This was an incredible cache in a beautiful location, with locals of scaly locals spectating. The container took me a long time to locate, and I certainly wasnt expecting one so big for the setting. Well done, this was truly a great cache. And bonus point for being on a path that I was able to skate to. TFTC
Punting around having a break from a crazy family holiday, nice spot to chill out, thanks
Found it! Several local lizards watched us as we wrote our log. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot.
Looking looking looking - mum gets bo out of the car and finds it in less than 10 seconds!!
Much easier parking now that the hospital is now longer here. Enjoyed a stroll along the foreshore. Good clue. tftc
Visiting South East Queensland for a week from Port Macquarie. Our last full day on the Gold Coast, today we tackled caches right down the coastal area, from The Spit in the North down to Coolangatta/Tweed Heads in the South. The weather today was prime for caching, with clear skies and lovely temperatures in the low twenties.Great little spot down by the river, managed a prime parking 1 metre from GZ. Different style container to what we were expecting, a very nice surprise. Thanks for the cache
Beautiful sunny day with David343 and enjoyed the sound of the water lapping. Lovely place to stop. TFTC
We're down in Kirra for the weekend, so before the geomonsters got out of bed on this windy, gray day, I headed out to pickup a few more smilies in the area. This was a nice quick find once the coast was clear. Pickup a load of empty cans and bottles as well.Thanks!!#3669
Travelling south with KatieM248, stopped in to grab a happy snap at the border and some fuel. On to Port Mac! TFTC. Good fun hide.
This one had me for a minute, activity log helped - thanks jclar! Great spot. TFTC
First day of our Easter holiday in Kingscliff and went for an afternoon bike ride with a few geos in mind. TFTC
On a weeks holiday from nz.Stopped in at this cache while in the area. Good hint here meant a quick easy find.Thank you petan for placing this cache.Log signed as B&PFind number 5090
What a swell today! We circumwalked Tweed, watched the surfers and managed to pick some caches. TftCs! Frtau
Good spot and was fast and easy, no wield looks from muffles and was a really good spot to sit down and eat my sandwich while watching the water Tftc
#19100 - 12:19:00 PM; Spending some time on the Gold Coast and after dripping the junior members off at the airport, headed in to Tweed Heads for some fish and chips and a couple of caches, including this one. Checked a few options before I finally made sense of things and could add my name to the log. TFTC petan
First find of 2024. It came complete with a little history and a quick find before fish and chips nearby. TFTC.
Tftc. Container was left partially visible, so no real need to even search for it. Returned so that it cannot be seen when passing by but still easily reachable.
This morning I decided to shake off the Christmas indulgence with a nice long walk. After wandering the Tweed back streets crossing the border here and there, I finally arrived at the river and this cache. I do like caches which explain the local history. It sure seemed like a lot of work wnet into creating the river retaining walls and no achieving the intent. The old wharf piles were spotted and then cache was quickly found here in good order. Enjoyed my 7.5k walk this morning. It is always better when there are a few geocaching finds along the way..Many thanks petanPete#7,542
A Cool-y cache for a holiday. With the help of the hint I found it straight away. Merry Christmas and thanks for the cache!
Found It!A neat little hide that didn't take me too long to find. Nice spot for a cache.TFTC
There is an LP vinyl record shop across the road from the hotel we are staying in. Vinyl is the one kind of plastic that not even greenies want to recycle because the ocean wild life like listening to it. Also LP is an acronym that young people dont use anymore because they dont know what it is.For those that dont know, an LP vinyl is a method of music delivery that used to cost $5 but now costs $65. For some beautiful reason our daughter likes collecting them, but not for the music, but more for the colour of the vinyl. Yesterday she bought one from Dope Lemon. Before I say it 100 times Dope Lemon is an actual recording artist. Not only that our daughter was eligible to be at the front of the line for Dope Lemon to sign the record the next day. I have seen Kiss in one of their first concerts without makeup and also the Red Hot Chili Peppers with socks on their cocks, but Dope Melon was a new experience. So we waited around for a while and joined the line of friendlies waiting for a Dope Lemon signature. I still cant believe Dope Lemon is a thing and I apologise ahead of time to all the Dope Lemon fans, but cmon join the real world. My wife and I walked off to find the cache because we werent waiting in the line for Dope. We found the hide and apparently Dope had the change in daylight savings wrong so we were back in time for the signing. We were back so far ahead of time that my son and I drove off for coffee before the Dope even arrived. So the Dope vinyl itself was awesome and it made for a great family holiday. Our daughter got the Dope Lemon signature even though she didnt know who it was but the the event will go down in folk lore. tftc
Not sure if Crow733 was the young man we startled about 11.45am this morning, if so we apologise. We'd spotted him looking around in not quite the right spot, and pointed out a better spot to look but he scampered before retrieving and signing the log. He may have come back later. While there, I checked on the cache and the logbook. Cache still in its hiding spot and logbook still has enough space for a dozen or more logs, although I will bring a replacement next time we are in the area. This is ok to be found.
Ive been here once before, but couldnt find parking, so today, having to be at the CITO down the road at stupid oclock, it seemed an ideal opportunityExcept its started to rain and its cold and did I mention its rainingA nice quick find and it was CITO time Thanks petan
It was a very early start this morning leaving the north of Brisbane to a attend a 7am CITO at Tweed heads. The weather was cools and a bit over Caste but it was lovely way to start the morning.I quickly found a place to park the car and made my way to ground zero in high expectation of the find. The target was quickly located, log extracted and a mark made to celebrate the find. The prize was quickly returned and on my way again.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Found it! This time we parked a short distance away and enjoyed a walk along the riverside to GZ. After waiting for a break in the Muggle traffic we set to working out where the cache was hidden. The third spot was successful after feeling something a bit different. Great hide TFTC SL
I think we’ve not searched for this in the past due to muggles but empty bench today. QEF with the good description and pleasant to sign,(dry log, even a pen). Large dragon as cache guardian and even saw a pair of dolphin moving down stream. NINO TFTC
My last day in Coolangatta so I'm spending a little time this morning chasing some local caches that, for one reason or the other, I hadn't got to during the week.
Today, I managed to get a parking spot nearby but it took a little while for me to bring the cache to hand (with the help of the hint) because I didn't want to attract attention from the muggle nurses lunching on the nearby seat. With lots of other passing muggles to contend with, I took the cache to seats further way to undertake the legals before returning the cache to its hidey hole.
Thanks for a nice hide petan and for bringing me to this lovely spot on the river. It was worth making repeated efforts to come here ...
