This cache took me way longer than it should have to locate. Husband did the checking out of the memorial whilst I searched, eventually cache in hand. TFTC
Swampy and I decided to visit Stanley with the aim of adding Pine Nut (GC52EF) to my list of oldest caches found. After an excellent trip, visiting the Hydro Power Trail along the way, we continued heading North West caching as we went. We found many different type of hides, cache containers and conditions. We fixed what was needed and replaced as found. What they all had in common was getting 2 geeks outside for some exercise. This find, Memorial for One, brings my total to 1616 and was found at 10:59 on 7/6/2024.Thanks GuitarRock21 for playing the game and giving us another reason to visit this area. I could not have done it without Swampy Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
A nice walk to the memorial sheltered from the wind by the trees. The GPS took us to the wrong corner of the Memorial. Mr Shadow widened his search and found the cache nicely snug in its hiding place. We were rugged up to keep warm. It was sleeting. Had to take gloves off to open the cache and sign the log. Lovely memorial to a great man. TFTC
Great spot for coffee and cake and a 3 cache haul. TFTC.Nice place to look out over lake.
Found with McAdies and Geo_Eddie.I am having a great time visiting Tasmania.Thank you for placing this geocache for us to find today!
Found with McAdies and Jelly_Bean14.We are on holidays in Tasmania. What a great spot and thanks for placing a cache here for us to find.
Found on our Trip to Tasmania. What a beautiful spot here. How strange that a grave like this is here!Cache found a bit closer to the monument than expected! Thanks for placing the cache for us to find today.
Couldn't find this one in the snow today. Come back another day. But a beautiful little gem here
Coords had us about 5m in the wrong direction but we found it without too much hastle
This guy must have been a legend, now I'm going to have to do some more research on him.

Poor Mr Beamont, no one can quite agree on how to spell your name (one of my maps had him as Beaumont), although it is no mean feat to be honoured as someone who was universally liked/respected. And what a great location for a resting place! I could think of far worse places to be pushing up daisies or other native flora. The cache was a quick find, discreetly located not far from the memorial. Nice work GuitarRock21.
Tftc, thanks for bringing us up this track to a lovely spot on a magical day
Lots of potential hiding spots, scared a lot of lizards, but no cache. Will have to find it next time.
Stopped here to have lunch and stretch the legs. Wandered along the well formed track and arrived at GZ. Mmm! This could be interesting. Followed coords with no luck, then read past log which indicated cache could be a bit further out - which made total sense with cache size and hint. Spotted it pretty quickly then. Lovely views over the lake from here. TFTC
In Tassie for March, cutting a lap and finding a few caches along the way.
Driving from Somerset to Seven Mile Beach today via the Great Lake. A beaut drive and some good caches too.
Organised a car service on the way to GZ. An interesting site
GuitarRock21, I found Memorial for One today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

I've stopped at the look out more times than I can remember. I've also found a few caches around this area too. Today after waiting out some muggles, we struggled to find the cache and ended up calling a recent finder for guidance.
Thanks GuitarRock21
Thanks GuitarRock21
This one took a bit of time to find, we eneded up calling a out of state cacher to help with the find, the coords offered by others were even further away that the originals.
My coords were S41 58.778 E146 43.548 but these could be no better that others
A day trip up to the Lakes to find (and refind) some caches, a great day out, some easy and some harder finds.
Straight after parkrun this morning i meet gooseandegg at our normal coffee shop and after a few minutes chat the goose loaded his gear in the 4WD and we were off heading North for the day.
We almost made it to our furthest target cache without stopping but called for some GCA caches along the way, after grabbing some stunning views from a new budgie cache we headed to the last one and started on our drive back after a short detour.
The cache of the day was a out of the blue surprise showing me a location i had no idea of and a feature i didn't know existed in Tasmania or Australia.
It was dark and 9:40 before I got home, almost 11 hours and 460km made for a good caching trip.
Thanks for the cache.

Today was a big day, with nearly 500km covered. The main aim was the 'Something Smells Fishy' wherigo series, with a few other targeted caches along the way. Then the plan was to head up to the Central Highlands before returning via a circuitous route to pick up a few more specific caches of interest.
I got away quite early, but unfortunately the fishing pole series took a lot longer than I had anticipated. I almost pulled the pin on the Central Highlands, but it was such a beautiful day, I thought I should continue with the plan, albeit a slightly cut back version. All in all I was travelling and caching for almost 14 hours, resulting in about 50 cache finds - not a lot for the time and distance, but they were mostly specifically targeted caches that I was keen to find.
I spent quite a bit of time up around the Central Highlands more generally - summer and winter- in the late 1970s through to the late 1980s as a part of my work. I have some great memories and its always nice to come back.
The cache was soon found and is in good condition.
Thanks GuitarRock21 for the cache.

On a trip over the highlands with Angus, 88. We stopped at this beautiful spot overlooking the dam. Walked up the hill to see the lone grave and managed to pick up a geocache as well. Thank you for this geocache well for worth the walk up the hill.
Searched quickly and efficiently whilst admiring the view from the memorial.
Today we are on the move, heading from Hobart up to Launceston. We decided on a route up across the Highlands and via the Great Lake and the day was cool as 11 degrees at it's lowest and finished the day in mid-30s in Cataract Gorge.
We had a weeks holiday booked in Tasmania as a way of celebrating mrs capperz's 60th birthday. What can I say but WOW. What an awesome state and was everything we'd seen and heard about this gem of a place. My main PQ had only Earthcaches and Virtuals and aside from an old cache for my missing month stats I only turned the GPS on when we were stopping somewhere anyway, what a great way to tour a place. Managed one complete set of Ad Labs at the airport, and started another 6 adventures with no intention to complete. Over 50 'real' caches were completed and left behind a couple of trackables to continue their journeys.
I will upload the associated pictures and answers over the next few days or so, need to start to make a dent in my finds backlog.
Oh, and thanks to all COs for their hides, much appreciated for this New Zealander.

Third one at this our coffee stop on the way to camp near Hobart. This cache is ten years old and holding its own very well. All good at GZ. Thankyou for this cache found on a beautiful windless, bright sunny day and the lake with a surface like glass.
Well this one took a while find but finally showed itself. It was not where my GPS wanted me to go. That said it is found and now into the best one.

Easy find. Cash in good condition. Found, stamped and replaced, with Maggie and Mollie, my GeoWesties, while roaming around Tasmania with our motorhome “Mylittlebus” looking for content for our TASMANIA ALL OVER facebook. Join us there. Thanks for placing this cache (and others), keeping us on our exploring toes.
Day 12 of our Lap of Tassie. Desperate to stretch my legs after the last stretch of the drive, we pulled up to check out Great Lake. Weather was windy and cold and rainy but I didn't care. Everyone else stayed in the car while I hunted around. GZ had me facing in the wrong direction and a little confused but as I spun around there it was in a nice little hidey spot. TFTC
Travelling to Zeehan today and decided to collect a few caches along the way and this was one of them. Cache and contents in good condition. TFTC.
What an incredibly beautiful location and tombstone. I'm so glad you brought me here.

Heading north for a couple of days with RLD4963 and we decided to come via the scenic route over the highlands. We have driven along this road a couple of times of the past few years, we are pretty sure we looked for this one on one occasion before but it was possible raining and so we didn't have a decent look. Today we found the cache with no trouble. A beautiful spot.

On my way back to HBA from Burnie for 2 days. There were a number of hides along this route home yet to find... this was one of two here.
Saw the grave site and began to hunt around. About 3 or so minutes passed before i noticed a bit of a SPOR and the booty was underneath [^]

Nice stroll up to the memorial. Very interesting resting place for this gentleman. Great view. TFTC TNLN SL
Great spot for a cache and a resting place for a lucky pioneer. This is my 400th find and what a perfect place. Cache quickly found. TNLN, SL & many thanks for this cache.
Found on my way home from the pioneer event in Ulverstone, and a bite to eat at the Great Lake Hotel, where I caught up with red tag jnr.
A quick find and checked out the view before the rain and wind started up.
Thanks for the cache!

Found in this lonely but beautiful place. On the road to a meeting in Ulverstone. Thanks for providing a reason to stop.

Tool a little while to find as it was well hidden. The log book is about full and I didn't have any paper to put in it . TFTC
