After camping the night at Lake Cargelligo Frogs Hollow, we packed up this morning and continued North to meet up with the Father in law at a property near Carinda. It was a nice drive today through some back roads, so many different types of lizards and snakes spotted along the way. Highlight of the day was the Macquarie Marshes walk.We left Nyngan and headed for our next stop Burrima wetlands walk in the Macquarie Marshes area. Unreal spot, we spent a good couple hours checking it out. Afterwards, we continued on to Carinda and picked up the single lonely cache - a nice old pub with some interesting history!
Day 5 of my tour of Central NSW. Hoping to chase some LGAs and other points of interest. Left Bourke and headed east to Brewarrina and collected some info for an interesting earth cache by the river. Then headed south to get a find for the next LGA. Arrived at Carinda for a quick find and a longer break before going back north to Walgett. Tftc
Great to revisit Carinda. We lived and worked here 50 years ago. Amazingly little has changed.
No April fools around here, in fact nobody to be seen. .Loved having a look around.
Found while on the road trip from Cobar to Toowoomba. What great history this place has, just wish we could have stopped longer to check it all out.TFTC & FP from me.
An early morning start after our overnight stay. I am traveling with my friends, hatzofff, RoddyC, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947. We are signing all logs as "5 for QLD" to save space. All caches were found, signed and replaced as foundAfter some early caches and an event we headed off to some special geoart and an overnight stay before heading back to Adelaide for the start of the Mega. Today has been one of the hottest and windiest we have had so far. [:(!] Here's hoping Adelaide will be a bit cooler tomorrow.
We are one our way to Adelaide for the leap Year Mega. After an early start from our overnight accommodation, we set off to find the caches on our target list. All caches were found and signed as "5 for QLD" for our traveling group of hatzofff (myself), RoddyC, Imbunda, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947.
Tripping to Adelaide first time for geocaching. I am traveling with my friends, hatzofff, RoddyC, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947. We are signing all logs as "5 got QLD: to save space. All caches were found, signed and replaced as foundWe have a most enjoyable day.
A Leap Year Mega draws us to Adelaide. Today's our intrepid group has our second full day of caching. We are using the Acronym 5 for QLD to sign the log sheets. Most of the caches this day were nice quick finds. And so happily I say that the logs were signed and caches replaced as found on this day, 22nd February 2024. TFTC, alnic39.
Heading to SA for the Mega event with geo friends and zigzagging our way around the countryside to grab a few LGA's and some targeted caches for a challenge or two. Staying at some lovely country towns and enjoying the local history in each place we ventured. To save space on log sheets, we used our team name of 5 for QLD.Most caches found were in good condition and a credit to the owners who have been maintaining them.Thank you for placing this cache for our benefit and enjoyment. This was a particular special cache for me as it was the one I needed to qualify for my Centroid challenge that I signed for in 2022.
Found while on road trip their Leap Year event. Taking a lot of back roads and visiting some interesting places. Thanks to all the CO's for your cache placements.
Out and about caching while travelling through NSW. Arrived at GZ and after a search, found cache. Signed log. TFTC
Put on your caching shoes and dance the blues Tftc. Met a couple of locals who pointed me in the right direction when my GPS pointed me in another.

Departing Melbourne the other day and travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully ), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel. Leaving Coonamble this morning and travelling through the bush most of the way passing through Carinda, Brewarrina and finishing up in Bourke for the night, I'll be heading off in the morning, north again .
Very lucky I have a caravan in tow to block inquisitive eyes from everywhere
**Thanks for placing this cache alnic39**

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to alnic39 for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Staying in Walgett for a few days as a base to visit the surrounding areas. This morning we headed this way to collect this out of the way cache. Log signed and a path tag left for the next finder. TFTC
Tftc alnic39, we have taken a massive detour to collect this cache in order to log a find in this LGA.
It is amazing to think that David Bowie was here. Very interesting information, and I was surprised by a few of the facts
Favourite point, this is a cache we will remember.

#11899 - 6:55:00 AM; After spending the night in Carinda, we headed south for home through Quambone, Coonamble, Gulargambone, Gilgandra, Dubbo, Tomingly, Parkes, Forbes and Grenfell. Today we collected finds in Walgett, Coonamble, Dubbo, Narromine, Parkes, Forbes and Weddin dragonZones and counties on our way home with some 2200 kms on the clock for the mission. Didn't have to go far for this cache, it was right outside the pub where we had spent the night! TFTC alnic39
Out on a road trip with LuckyL10n to grab a few LGA's in outback NSW that we still had to visit including Bland, Carrathool, Lachlan, Cobar, Brewarrina, Walgett, Coonamble as well as grabbing a few caches in previously visited zones.
After spending a fun night at the pub we were up early to head off, grabbing this cache before another else in town was up. Log signed and cache replaced. Cache all good.
Thanks for this one Alnic39..

I decided a weekend dash north to finish my inland NSW counties was in order. The aim was Brewarrina for the two Earth Caches. Day 3. I headed south again, this time via some dirt to visit Carinda and Quambone. Then it was back to the bitumen at Gulargambone for a few more caches before returning to Wellington via Dubbo.
This was a bit of a detour as I already have Walgett County caches, but I had seen it 50km West of my track north so had to give it a go. The dirt road down from the Brewarrina road was very good and I was here early before anything was open. That did not stop several locals stopping in for a chat via the back gate next to GZ. I must have passed up and down the area on a few different occasions before I saw what I needed. At least the dog was not interested, just slept on the footpath while I searched again and again.
Thanks for the cache alnic39

Day 3 of a 7 day trip from Canberra to Bourke, to Narrabri, to Armidale and back to Canberra. The main goal (apart from having a break from working from home) is to collect counties, and see some of NSW I haven't been to before. A lot of people at the pub/cafe following a local funeral. However, after loitering near the hint I was able to spot, retrieve, sign and replace the cache without anyone noticing. Thoroughly enjoyed the drive from Brewarrina to here, and then to Wee Waa via Coonamble and Pillaga. TFTC.

Yay!! Another county and David Bowie!! The perfect cache! Great to be out county hunting with GLISS! And K8TYBEE. A fav cache for me. TFTC
Avoiding Covid places and needing a time out from work so hitched a ride with Nibletricecakes and GLISS! armed with hand sanitiser and face masks, we went touring NSW collecting counties.
We started in Canberra and spent a weekend in Bathurst with the capital crunchers then continued on North and West before heading home again. TFTC!

Fine example of places caching takes you , We spotted this cache as we were mapping out our holiday from Melbourne to the GoldCoast and after a couple of weeks away we decided to do this one on our long way home , noob mistake didn’t save to offline list so only had coords no hints or description. Searching the area for a good 10 minutes Temp was sitting around 40° , we decided to have a break and visit the cafe / post office / gift shop
After a discussion with the store owner and her local friend about Geocaching and what brought us to this cool little town , one of the ladies signed up to GC and tried to bring the local cache up , for some strange reason it was made premium only , I kinda figure if a cacher is out here then they wouldn’t be ya regular riff raff city ratbags. 12 pm clocked over Pubs open I bet they would know about the cache , so we ventured down and for a beer and a sticky nose , The publican was funny she knew about the cache but wouldnt give any clues so Mrs Bear went outside for a second look closer to the pub than coords were and she came running back in with cache in hand , we left our path tag and also left the pub with some of our bar coasters
Towns like this need ppl like us visiting , so take the time to chat and spend some coin and let them know you are caching , they love to know
Thanx for the Adventure Stay Dirty ️

We only came this way because of the cache. Due to distances between towns we stayed overnight. When we arrived a wake was being held at the hotel, so we brought dinner & decided to wait until morning to search. After our included breakfast, we quickly found the cache & took some photos of this location's unique claim to fame. TFTC
Travelling from Adelaide to Brisbane on some alternative routes saw us stopping at Bourke for the night. I was undecided with the idea of driving down to Carinda or going the more direct road to Walgett. Knowing I'd like to find a cache in the Walgett LGA and seeing none in the town itself was tempting, but still a long drive out of our way for the detour. The clincher was the last minute discovery that the First to Find was up for grabs, so off we headed along some interesting country back roads ending up outside a classic pub. The GPSr led me a few metres onto the road but the image on the building beckoned a search. Met the friendly publican who knew about the cache but to her credit gave nothing away! A short search in a cool location led to a blank log book and a very satisfying *FTF*. Called back into the pub to let her know we'd made the find, had a chat about geocaching, before heading on our way. Thanks for the cache alnic39!
