It was at this point that I changed teams, peeling away from James0116 and doineedthis to join forces with SpiderMonkeysMum. As a parting gift, James0116 gave us a hint for this one as the coordinates are a bit out. As he pointed out, the published hint will get you there. I used to orienteer too.Blackberries have indeed taken hold in this park, but thankfully not in the vicinity of this cache. Thanks for this hide Cachehoppers.

This Sunday, I and J plus the little one attended the Walkfest in Belair Nation Park. We found some caches while we were there. We found 3 caches and 4 Adventure Lab locations, but DNF 1 cache. This was the first cache we found there. It did not take long time to find the cache, after expanding the searching area.Once I found the cache, I realised what's the hint referred to.Signed the log, and placed the cache back. Covered it well. Thanks for the cache, The Cachehoppers.

After a number of days when we didn't cache, we decided to head into the nearby Belair National Park to survey the area and, if possible, look for some caches. Given comments in recent logs about having to widen the search area, we went back through previous logs and found some alternative coordinates. Thanks JJ52 for those coordinates as they took as straight to the location mentioned in the hint. We found the remains of the cache. We had sufficient with us to make a temporary cache, although everything had to be placed in a sealable plastic bag. The cache was then hidden at the location indicated by the hint. Thanks for the cache

Too many spots too many places. I don't think the main clue helped much, but it was certainly worth a go. This was my last cache of the day. Went caching with Doomflame. TFTC

Found it

After bush bashing to Hurtles 100 days of caching challenge, myself, OZGrumpy and Jolly0 walked through the park back to the cars.

After doing the frog walk, we came past this one, coords are off by about 20m, but luckily a hint was waving his arms at us.

The travel bugs as now travelling.

aka “the coloured mint tin by the sea people”

After a delicious breakfast with a dancing banana and a few cachers it was off with doineedthis and OZGrumpy to find a few caches and a challenge or two before heading to the second event for the day.
We discovered a couple of TB’s in this hide and they joined the boys on their day’s adventures.

Walnut paddock is stunning this time of year, with the change in seasons and colour.

Found the cache 18m away from the posted co-ords, but with the hint, GZ was identified with confidence.

There were plenty of hides otherwise!

Dropped a TB and discovered another.

Not sure of exact date of the find as this was a spot we visited while staying at the Belair Caravan Park quite some time ago.We like Walnuts and blackberries, but the thorns of a heap of these berry type bushes are a shocker. Name: blackberry, bramble, Rubus fruticosus aggregate (various species and hybrids).Height: thornless varieties generally 1.5-2m; wild blackberries form dense thickets several metres high.Spread: 2-4mPlant type: sprawling, semi-deciduous shrub.Climate: cold, cool temperate and arid.Soil: moist, well-drained soil enriched with compost.Position: full sun.Foliage: each leaf is composed of three or five oval-shaped leaflets with serrated margins.Flowering and fruiting: clusters of small white or pink flowers appear in late spring, followed by small green berries that change to red then black as they ripen.Feeding: feed regularly throughout the growing season.Watering: water regularly.Appearance and characteristics of blackberriesBlackberries are sprawling, semi-deciduous shrubs with arching, prickly or thornless canes that produce delicious edible berries from late spring to early autumn. They can be highly invasive, growing into a dense thicket of canes with many suckers at the base of the plant. As such, many blackberry species have been classed as weeds in Australia. However, the varieties that are available to buy in nurseries are not considered a weed.Chester, Waldo, and Thornfree are a few popular thornless varieties. They are heavy croppers and need some support to keep them upright.Looks like the world needs to get on board those thornless types haha. Thanks Cachehoppers for the cache. TNLNSL

I sent the afternoon in and around Belair National Park, enjoying the sunshine and finding geocaches.
Warm weather so the sunscreen was on nice and thick. This was my first time geocaching inside Belair National Park so there were plenty of caches within walking distance to keep me busy.
I parked outside and took off on foot. Lots of good quality caches found. A couple required an extended search but the vast majority weee found without problems.
As previously reported, about 12m off. The hint helped.

Thanks for the cache The Cachehoppers.

Find 12 of 13 from two 9km walks, first around the NE of Adelaide with a target of cleaning up all the Ad Lab locations we had missed, then in the afternoon on a lovely hike at Bel Air.

From the trail, we were allowed safe passage by one of the biggest roos we've ever seen, nonchalantly sprawled out looking over their domain. A quick find with the more accurate co-ords.

TFTC The Cachehoppers!

Located cache at the co-ords left by another.

Easy find, in fact partner saw the cache on the way to GZ and said that looked out of place. Was in fact the cache, once the new Co-ords loaded.

Owl was getting the Owlmobile seen to (again), which was the perfect excuse to team up with JJ52 and find some caches. An excellent time was had in Belair National Park, with perfect weather for a leisurely drive, This one took a bit of guesswork, as the coordinates are out but JJ eventually made the find at S 35° 00.722 E 138° 38.848.

07-Apr-22
I had picked up Doctor Owl while her car was being attended to and we made a plan to grab a few new caches around the area with the aim of collecting a few in Belair National Park as it was a beautiful day to be out in nature. [^]

Spent quite a bit of time looking before reading logs and realising the coords were out. Once we widened the search I spotted the hide then looking from the right direction saw what the hint referred to. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache The Cachehoppers. Smile

Travelled through the city dodging potential hot spots as we went... can't afford time off right now lol. With Jack and Sebastbat.
Came for a bit of peace and tranquility in the Belair park... and it was full of picnickers, hikers, all sorts of random bods Surprised Luckily the caches we sought were mostly away from the crowds Big Grin

Took a couple of minutes to find it and the hint we spotted after then cache lol. Razz

Much thanks to The Cachehoppers for placing this cache on the SA map Cool

---

Out every day locating and logging using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck WinkCoolBig Grin Quite a bit of that!!!
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*

---

Please do stay safe when caching.
Keep a lookout for bogs, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs from alpha to omega !!! . [xx(]

Ensure that Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on Big Grin
Now our borders are open - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!

We do really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting Cool

04-Apr-21
Today was another day that I was wanting a few finds for the day and seeing as it was a nice, sunny, day, I decided to head into Belair National Park in search of a few finds. Parking as close to gz as I possible could, I began my search in some of the obvious spots, however, I came up with nothing. I then began to widen my search and after a while I spotted the cache sitting in its hiding spot, but completely uncovered; along with this I also saw the reason behind the hint. I grabbed the cache and signed the log before returning it to its spot and covering it a little better. Once the cache was returned, I was approached by a park ranger who was inquiring as to what I was doing. After a brief explanation, they were happy with what I was doing and let me go on my way.

Found the cache almost completely out in the open, must have been muggled! The log book was missing so we were unable to write our names in it, and we didn't have anything we could replace it with unfortunately. The cache was also a little wet inside. Nonetheless was a quick and fun find during a picnic with friends playing capture the flag and cricket. TFTC! Sabo + JJ
