Thanks 2y'stassies for placing Waiting For The Ferry: Entrance To The Mersey. Swampy and I headed back to plunder more of the Northern coast over the Hobart Show long weekend. 4 day long weekend for 1 days annual leave. Sweet. This is day 2. Devonport and surrounds. At least my log is not full of bad 80s references. This run has us finding both GC and GCA caches. So many caches, so little time. This is my GC find #2125 and was found on 25/10/2024 at 06:57FTF: Found with: SwampyWeather: fairMuggles: noneLight level: goodCache condition: goodDistance from GZ: Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
Hi 2y'stassies. Today we found your cache on the Devo trip for the year. VK7HCH and I hatched yet another plan to whip it up to the north to continue our plundering of caches both GC and GCA. As there are so many caches in this area we had freedom of choice to do those we wished to. We have solved a few puzzles so we can find those and lots of others. Although I didnt find the girl U want, the caches were enough. Its a beautiful world here in Tassie. Thanks for hiding the cache for us to find today. Finding this cache takes my GC finds to 5187 and I found it on Friday 25 Oct 2024FTF: NoMates: VK7HCHMuggles: Condition: GoodWeather: slightly cloudyMy favorites:Creative - Back to the future 1 by peaches (GCA5JYD)Hardest - Men in Black Holes by SG-3 (Archived)Most visited - Dragons Lair by Shagzter (GC2E33)Tractable also visited your cache
This cache was only 120m away from the cabin we were staying in last night. A beautiful morning for it! TFTC!Cheers,The Hancock Clan
Found on our short walk whilst uh, waiting for the ferry of course. Ably assisted by our geohound who has something of a nose (when at home taste even!) for plastic. Though we did start off parking in the wrong spot as we took the cache title a little too literally!
The mistake container vs the actual geocache was about 2-3 Meters away. Thanks For The Cache INFORMATIONSearch (EST)/SL Time:3M/15:07TODAY FINDS/DNF:2/0Trackable not in cacheFinder Note: All SYSTEMS GO ON THIS CACHE!
This cache required to be disabled due to being stuffed with illegal needles... the caravan park nearby is a common place for drug users but can't provide images since they weren't taken due to safety concerns at the time... the devonport police station will be soon notified to remove the cache safely...
This cache will be disabled until further notice. This is the first time that anything like this has been reported. It will be checked out and the cache relocated if practical - otherwise it will be archived.
This morning we did a maintenance run on some caches from the "Waiting For The Ferry" series. Of the seven we checked, all were in place and in good condition (except for one having a spilt plastic bag). When we saw the request for this cache to be reviewed by the Reviewer and the reason for it, we were concerned and made this cache the highest priority for this maintenance run. We quickly found our cache container and IT WAS NOT STUFFED WITH ILLEGAL NEEDLES. The cache contained two log books and a stash note - nothing else. A photo is attached. So we widened the search area and found a sharps container 10m away - the container was the same style as that used by insulin-dependent diabetics (photo attached). We are not clear if the container contained legal insulin or an illegal substance as we didn't want to explore the contents. Without expert analysis, one could not say that the needles were illegal. We removed the sharps container and have disposed of it legally and safely. The only disappointing thing is that the sharps container was either dropped or discarded by the user and wasn't disposed of correctly.Occelot09 needs to be much more observant:* the cache description said that the cache was a 200mL sistema; what was found was certainly not a 200mL sistema but a standard insulin sharps pack* as the hint indicated, the cache was hidden at the base of a tree under pine needles; where we found the sharps container was certainly not consistent with the hint* the sharps container was 10m from the published coordinatesBy the way, it is short term stay holiday park close to where the cache was located and to characterize this well managed tourist establishment as a hang-out for a number of drug addicts is totally erroneous.Occelot09 indicated that they intended to contact the Devonport Police "to remove the cache safely". If that contact has been made, then the onus on Occelot09 is to contact the Devonport Police and to withdraw their report.
Heading back home to Victoria tonight, had a great 2 weeks visiting Tasmania, nice quick finds before boarding the Ferry. TFTC
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, our visit to Cradle Mountain and Tasmania has already come to an end. Tonight, we sail back to the mainland with the night boat.We arrived early in Devonport and before the boat leaves there is still time for some cache in the area. This cache was not found during that tour.**2y'stassies**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. The last days were spent in Cradle Mountain which we absolutely loved. Today we drove to Devonport and tonight the Spirit of Tasmania will ferry us back to the mainland. It is lovely weather and we arrived rather early. So plenty of time for a nice walk along the coast. Apperently we had some starting problems because we weren't able to find the first three caches of this seres we visited. Luckily we then picked ourselves up and the rest of the caches we visited of this series were all found. Thanks to this series we had a excellent walk and a very enjoyable time while waiting for the ferry. Thank you very much for this series.
TFTC. Staying at the caravan park nearby for a couple of days so picked up a few caches
The 9th and last day of our Tasmanian Adventure, we arrived back in Devonport to be ready to board the SOT early tomorrow morning. With the afternoon to fill in we opted for some more of these Waiting for the Ferry caches. SL at 1.40pm Left: Oz Mega 2012 geocoin #10,684 TFTC 2ystassies
After Parkrun did some grocery shopping and then we had to shift camps over to East Devonport. We had omelettes for lunch and then headed out for a walk to collect some more of this series. It was 1.2km from where we parked to the furthest cache but somehow the walk ended up being 4km there and back .Pretty pleased to find most of the caches just one dnf for today. This one was a nice quick find thankfully these trees give me awful hay fever so was grateful for a quick find. We continued today our tour in Tasmania, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.
The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.
The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.
Thanks to 2y'stassies for the generation of this nice cache Waiting For The Ferry: Entrance To The Mersey (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.
PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.
Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

This cache was missing when we checked today. The tree has grown filling in the part of the trunk where the cache was hidden. We guess that recent finders could not replace the cache where it was originally hidden and it became too exposed. We have hidden the cache in a different location but with the same coordinates. The hint has been updated.
Searched on two separate occasions in only multi trunk pine tree scrapping all trunk forks and could not find. Don't think cache is here?
We are starting to change our caches to Premium Only because we have become increasingly frustrated with some finders who
* have logged a find without signing the logbook
* not taken care by replacing the camo after finding a cache
* shifting the location of a cache to "an easier find"
These unthinking actions have resulted in a significant increase in maintenance, time we could better use for caching.
We had deliberately made our caches available to all who want to cache but as some are not showing respect, we are reluctantly changing many to Premium Only. We apologise to those responsible cachers who are not Premium Members but we have reached the tipping point.

Great find, on a track we’ve never been in before despite being locals. Super fast and easy find. TFTC

In town again, staying with family with gave us and opportunity for picking up some more of the hides, which we haven't got previously.
It was a beautiful day so we were making the most of it. We had a lovely day taking in some beach and river views and finding some great hide.
Out for an evening walk grabbing a few along this area. Found after digging around a bit.
Thanks 2y'stassies for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Mason has found his first treasured cache. He swapped his pikachu for a really cool stamp, he is rapped with his new treasure
These caches were a perfect time filler while waiting to board the Spirit of Tasmania we enjoyed a leisurely stroll enjoying the beautiful weather. We enjoyed the variety of hides and had to exercise quite a lot of stealth. Thank you for placing these caches 2y'stassies.
For past 2 nights wehave been camping 180 m away, waiting for the ferry. T4T$, our last this trip.
Watching the Spirit Of Tasmania approach at the speed of a Catamaran {Huge Tail Wind from the NE}, i made the quick find of this one at 15:55 on Monday 22 March 2021.
