Day 4 of our 4 day anniversary road trip to Maryborough and out West. Lots of adventure to be had with my love SCAHPA. Log signed as CS & SC to save time and room - Trademark skeleton animals sticker left in cache - TFTC, effort time and maintenance
My wife and I had spent the weekend at Kingaroy and were making our way back home to Redcliffe. We decided to tack on a few hours to the drive by returning through Gympie. This was our first find of the day. tftc
I am again headed north for the weekend. And again, I have time to find a few caches on the way to break up the drive and stretch the legs. There is a good spot to park the car right next to GZ where I made a quick find. The cache is in good condition. Thanks for the cache.
Miss TT accompanied Chamad and Willis007 on a day out caching in my home town, all in name of chasing a special event cache in a hard to get LGA. When I do a day of caching, there are groans from the back-seat. Apparently she really enjoyed herself. I think the deal was sweetened with Bella the geopup tagging along. I am pleased that my little mini me was able to explore the countryside that I called home in my childhood.
Road trip! Attending an event out this way this morning, geopup and I caught up with chamad and a turmoil in Gympie and joined forces to collect some caches.A quick find here, log signed, cache replaced as found. Thanks youngoldfella for the cache.
Working our way back home now after a Saturday morning drive to a special event in a rare LGA, (cherbourg) and a continious drive up to Gayndah. I had triple turmoil (naya) with me and we meet up with Willis007 in Gympie, before heading to this event. A good size turnout and only time enough to catch up with a few of the teams there. It was then off to hopefully grab a few caches northwards as time was pressing on us today. We had no real plans just to get a couple in Gayndah and a few as we passed by. Success and we have made it to Goomeri now just stopping at the ones that were convenient. As always it was a day filled with laughs and jokes. We signed the log on this one and replaced all as found. Thanks for placing this one here. With the areas so lush and grass so high it did add to a little extra fun in finding the caches. This one was an easy grab. All good with this one.
After a lovely dinner at the blackbutt pub last night and a peaceful nights sleep it was an early morning start today to score a few caches before work begins. My target to day is to get to 100 caches in the south Burnett LGA to get one step closer to a challenge cache Im focusing on in Brisbane.Upon arriving at ground zero I found a safe place to park the geowagon and made my way to ground zero. It didnt take long until I had located ground zero and I soon had the log out and was making my mark for prosperity. Safely returning the cache to its hiding place I was soon back in the van and off to the next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Travelling the roads today. We headed towards Murgon. This was on our way. A quick find. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks Sweet-Sour. All good with this cache.
TFTC. Sweet-Sour for your cache Rail Trail @ Kinbombi that we found today.
Arrived in Goomeri for an overnight stop. After setting up camp at the showgrounds we went out for a few caches. A lot of long grass but managed to find what we set out to find.
Find Count: 16345

Missed the turnoff to Kinbombi Falls and came down here to turn back. I wonder if there is a cache down here and when the App opened there was one 35m away. A quick find was had after scaring a hare which was a couple of feet away in the long grass. Also found a snail on the cache. An interesting stop. TFTC
Out doing a circuit ride from Kilkivan to Ipswich and then back to home over a couple of days.
This was another cache for the afternoon on today's part of the journey to Goomeri. The local council says the trail is closed, we however found no difficulty riding a maintained and mowed track all the way with only one single creek near Goomeri washed out to the extent it could not be ridden.
It was just after this cache that the washed out crossing appeared. However we just jumped across the creek closer to the old rail bridge foundations. If you didn't want to risk this it would only be a short ride along this old back road back to Goomeri.

Another day in Kilkivan. We were going to have an easier day but as usual, it didn't work out that way. We changed plans along the way which was a bonus and headed towards Tansey. Then we decided to drive a loop and headed off to Goomeri. Having no lunch with us we stopped in Goomeri to see what we could find. A lovely older small town with some amazing old buildings and a fantastic bakery. Great coffee, but the pies are up there with Mataranka pies. Excellent. We then headed out to Kinbombi Creek Gorge and Falls another unexpected find. We only headed out because there were caches there, but what a bonus. Well worth the diversion.
We then returned to camp a Kilkivan.
Lots of really good sized caches in good condition.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Sweet-Sour.

This is a very busy road, so its good to take the side road to the rail trail (CLOSED). Two Tassies out and about staying in Kilkivan for a couple more nights. So, a little trip back to Goomeri for a look around, liquid supplies (not open today) and of course a spot of caching. Found soon enough and in good nick in a usual place. Sweet-Sour TFTC.

In the area today and decided to pick up a few caches and this was one of them. I parked nearby and once at GZ the cache was soon in hand and after signing the log all was returned as found.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.

I’ve come up here to try and qualify for a crazy Challenge Cache in Cunnamulla… Forward planning, I’m driving L’DeVine, so hopefully no busted tyres today…
My third find, and a slight drive out of Goomeri to collect it…
It was the cache guardian, who even after being hurled 8 metres “that way” refused to decamp that made this cache more interesting… tftc…

A fully loaded mini motorbike and rider passed me near this crossing, and then came out again as i was parked here about to go on the hunt.
A brief chat about how cool this rail trail thingy is (some more caches along here would be great ) before i mentioned geocaching.
Then wandered over for a quick find after seeing the spor, passed the card over for a better description than i could give then he went on his way. (Was just curious about the trail amd wanted to check it out but was so worried about upsetting farmers by using a motorbike)
I was attacked my magpies several times after this cache. Even crashed into the long grass while defending my head. Sure gets my anxiety working.
Thanks sweet-sour for the easy cache alongside the rail trail.

On our way home in the motorhome & this easy find filled another calendar day. TFTC
Day 10 of 10 – Goomeri to Kilkivan via the KKRT - Cache 1. We are riding from Walkuraka to Kilkivan. Our last day of our epic adventure riding rail trails. It has been such an awesome way to spend the school holidays with the little chikins. Finding caches along the way has been the icing on the cake. This was very quick and easy cache to start our caching day. TFTC.
Out and about caching north of Kingaroy, where I was staying for 9 days, doing a house-sit. Travelling around the countryside stopping here and there to find various caches in different locations. Logs signed and cache placed back where found. TFTC
Doing the loop drive of Wondai, Murgon, Goomeri and BP Dam, while staying in Kingaroy, and collecting a variety of caches along the way as well as an AL. Many thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment as well as showing us around your region.
On our way home after a fun day full of pumpkin-themed things at the Goomeri festival. Huge crowds and great markets, got lots of interesting nick nacks to help support the country town. We sampled pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, pumpkin scones and even pumpkin ice cream which was surprisingly good! Lots of great entertainment and interesting parade. Never seen so many caravans in one place before!
We left after the first half an hour of the pumpkin roll as it looked like there were still 100 more rollers to go and we wanted to beat the traffic out. So we had some time up our sleeves for some caches on the couple of hour drive home to the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Once at gz this was a fairly quick find at the rail trail road crossing.

Spending a day doing a bit of cycling on the rail trail again and noticed a few new caches we could hunt down. The trail was well used today with a group of cyclists with period bikes and dress showing the way sheep shearers moved from station to station in days gone by. All good with the log. Thanks for the cache.
Gotcha !!! On our way home from Glen Innes via a round about route. Not much time for caching today . Visited TBs and GCs. TFTC
Well, here we go again!
Our 3rd trip out this way in as many weeks, another 4 days for this run.
Why do country COs place their caches so FAR APART! [?]
Camping at Kinbombi Falls free camping for the first couple of nights, a really great spot!
#8 of 26 smilies today.
A nice quick find where all is good.

Hi there Sweet-Sour.
We found your cache **"Rail Trail @ Kinbombi"** today. (This makes our find count 25487).
We're camped at Goomeri Showground for a while. Today the plan was to head off to Kilkivan, but our "next closest" route managed to take us somewhere completely different.
We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache finds, and our tally today was 19 caches today & 1 DNF's. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels. Thanks also for not placing an eclipse tin or a 200ml Sistema here. It made us feel really good to find a regular sized cache here.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found each cache within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking. [:(!] (We did have to look a little further afield for some though). [:(!]
**Cache Condition:** The PVC containers we found were damp inside, but the log books were mainly in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

TFTC had not seen this part of the rail trail before was beautiful Thankyou.
I got rail-roaded into another cache find here [:o]
It was a great detour off the main drag
But after parking the geomobile,
I had to wait a couple of minutes for the farmer to turn the tracktor around in the next door paddock,
and head off across the paddock with plough in tow
After the coast was clear,
the cache was a quick find a short distance from the rails [:d]

Goomeri for 2 nights staying at the showgrounds.
We enjoyed the many caches we did along these backroads, the countryside being a lot dryer than we expected.
The caches were generally typically roadside caches.

Nomads hunkering in their caravan near Murgon . We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Now we have to cope with Corona Virus ..... and social distancing. We are currently hunkered with our caravan on a farm at Manyung near Murgon.
Caching at least keeps us sane in a time of social distancing - when it is suitable. And now we have had some restrictions lifted, and we can go hiking, and national parks are open, so we are out and about again, with caution.
Today suffering from cabin fever on a miserably drissly day, we targeted some of the caches between Goomeri and Kilkiven
Ok so it us raining, prefer it not, but what the heck, it is needed in this area. Mr D found the cache, and hunkered under the tree while I bought him the stamp. Thanks Sweet-Sour

A great opportunity to cache around Kilkivan. A selection of hides kept things interesting. Thanks to for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

Out and about chasing the 20 new hides by this CO placed for the 2019 Kilkivan New Years event. Good hide and a quick find. I love driving in country like this. TFTC Sweet-Sour
Visiting Kilkivan for the annual Cache-up event. Sweet-Sour kindly offered to chauffeur me around for the day. Who was I to refuse? After finding a nearby cache, we took a pleasant stroll to this one. My caching buddy is the CO, so I was left to search for this one on my own. The cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
Attending the Kilkivan event finding mostly newer caches with a few older ones in between. It was an early start after a peaceful sleep in the swag and awaking to a rowdy chorus of birds.
