We visited the cave whilst on a nearby trip to Mt Field. Interesting spot and a nice little walk. Answers sent to CO. TFTC and for bringing us here
Just to start you can have all my FP points! What an absolute delight this walk was Beautiful shady ferns next to a crystal clear stream, meandering up to the cave entrance. Mini munchkin said this was her favourite walk on our visit to Tassie this time. I took some time to admire the cave entrance and think about the answers to the required questions. Thanks for the cache membsec
Caching in the area, we visited Junee Caves and made our observations. An interesting and tranquil area that we enjoyed visiting. Many thanks membsec for creating this earthcache and highlighting this location.Logging with permission.Adding to our favourites.
We heard about this cave and stopped by for a look see. We really enjoyed our walk here and gathering our answers. Thanks membsec for putting this earthcache out
After walking in Mt.Field National pk for several hrs we decided to head to the cave . Thoroughly enjoyed the walk to cave . Change of temp.noticable as we walked further along the trail

Found this amazing cave entrance with The X-Trailers .
Enjoyed the walk through the forest of ferns ,, moss on trees that had fallen and on rocks etc. The water was crystal clear in the river and saw the occassional fish. A beautiful area to walk. We started the walk with a temp of 35 and refreshingly cool by time we reached the cave. A fav point today. Answers sent for us both. TFTC

I remembered there was an Earthcache here, but the 'reliable' GPS and Phone were blank, dang. I took some pictures from what I remembered reading and it was indeed enough to be able to submit my answers later. Nice quick walk and many fish in the river easily visible.
Day 2 - A trip down to Lakes Gordon and Pedder and a first look at the South Western corner. Once again I had 'all' the ECs and Virtuals loaded and a picnic lunch for a full day out. Saw a dead snake on the road and plenty of awesome scenery, especially the rock formations. Long day out, well worth the trip.
We had a weeks holiday booked in Tasmania as a way of celebrating mrs capperz's 60th birthday. What can I say but WOW. What an awesome state and was everything we'd seen and heard about this gem of a place. My main PQ had only Earthcaches and Virtuals and aside from an old cache for my missing month stats I only turned the GPS on when we were stopping somewhere anyway, what a great way to tour a place. Managed one complete set of Ad Labs at the airport, and started another 6 adventures with no intention to complete. Over 50 'real' caches were completed and left behind a couple of trackables to continue their journeys.
I will upload the associated pictures and answers over the next few days or so, need to start to make a dent in my finds backlog.
Oh, and thanks to all COs for their hides, much appreciated for this New Zealander.

As a kid my uncle brought me here once. He lives in Maydena and I used to spend a lot of my youth up here with the family. I can remember pestering him for so long to show me this space and then on the day he did, it was absolutely pouring. The sound of the cave was far more impressive than anything that could be seen on that day.
Came away on an annual camping/bushwalking trip with a group of intrepid female friends. We usually go to an isolated island somewhere, but weren't very organised this year so decided to go to Adamsfield, in the hope we would be away from the crowds on a long weekend. We had a great 4 days exploring and learning the history of the area in total isolation - just how we like it!
Visited this great earthcache at Maydena on the way home, having never visited the Junee Cave before I'm embarrassed to say. What a beautiful forest walk and stunning clear water. Saw lots of trout as we meandered along the walk. Thanks membsec for placing an earthcache here.

On a few recommendations from locals we took the short and lovely stroll to the mouth of the Junee Cave along the way reading the information boards and observing the local flora and fauna. The water is so incredibly clear here and the area very peaceful. TFTC and the information.

We came south today so that we could see our daughter tomorrow before she goes into quarantine for two weeks prior to going to Antarctica for 4 months. We took the opportunity today to visit Mt Field National Park and Maydena to look for caches and during the day, we visited your Junee Cave Earthcache. We collected information and answers to the questions have been forwarded to the COs.
Thanks membsec for another interesting Earthcache.

On Friday I asked stainless steel rat what we were going to do on Saturday (usually he asks me) and out of left field he suggested Scotts Peak Dam. I didn't agree until I checked the weather forecast .
I did say if we were coming all this way then I wanted to go through to Gordon Dam as well, so we did!
After a (rhymes with) pit stop in Maydena we didn't stop again until we got to Red Knoll , figuring we can pick up the other couple of caches on this road on the way out - which we also did.
With a little time left we decided to visit Junee cave. It's been around 30 years since I was here so I was excited to return. Back then we crossed the river on a log, as the track came from further north and that nice footbridge didn't exist. There was no platform at the cave entrance either and we were able to easily enter and get up onto the ledge inside.
We spent some time here enjoying it immensely (except for the occasional drip then went down our necks) while we answers the questions and studied the plaque.
When I got home I read more about the caves and watched some videos of people more adventurous them me! Next time we're out this way I'll have to go back to the entrance, again it's been about 30 years!
Permission to log received.
Thanks membsec, a favouite point from me.

For many months now gooseandegg and I have talked about doing a caching trip out to Scotts Peak Dam to find the caches and trig's out that way but we had always found something else to do as we knew it would take up the whole day.
On Friday goose messaged me and asked "what are we doing tomorrow?" to which i replied "We have talked about Scott's peak road for a long time now" after he had checked the weather his response was "yeah ok why not"
Considering that it rains over 250 days a year there is a good chance it was going to be wet but as long as it wasn't snowing I was happy.
A fascinating earthcache for once, we enjoyed collect the needed information for this one, it's amazing whats just on your doorstep and you dont know it.

TaurusSix and I today visited this place. It was wet and rainy, and when it wasn't merely brushing the ferns caused water to rain down. But this made the visit more spectacular.
Camping just up the road at Mt Field for a few days, so made my way back to Junee Cave for a look this evening. I’ve been here more times than I’ve had Christmas dinners, I grew up in the area spending every holiday at Mt Field in the 70’s and 80’s, but one more time here won’t hurt. A lot of smoke around from the fires down near Lake Pedder that flared up again today, but still a beautiful evening, little mystical walking through the forest with the smoke.
Light levels were very low at the cave due to the smoke and tree cover, and I only had my phone with me, so couldn’t get a good look in the cave this evening, but it’s still a really beautiful spot, I can never get over just how clear the water is coming out of the cave and even further down the river. There were so many stories, rumours and myths in the early days of where this river originated, but I think the scientists sorted that out years ago, Will message my answers to the CO tonight, have included a selfie at the cave.

We had a great day today exploring parts of the Styx Valley that we've not been to, and also returning to Junee Cave for this new earthcache & a couple of other new nearby caches. It's surprising it's taken this long for an earthcache to be located here as it's an amazing spot with incredible geological interest.
Enjoyed answering the good questions and thanks for the very quick reply! Thanks too for setting up this earthcache!
Cheers,

Visited this site the weekend before last and had a wonderful time walking to the cache at the entrance to the cave.
The area is such a special place, and I am grateful it is in the national park and will be protected.
The water was so clear, that it was like justing at the bottom of the creek.
I have logged before I got the ok from the cache owner, so if there is any issues I will delete my log

Hi membsec
Emailed the CO and got the reply "Log away!!"
This earthcache is placed on one of my favourite short walks in Tasmania
The scenery is fantastic; the solitude calming and the tinkle of the creek is "pit stopping"
How great has nature been and is in this area
Last time in the area; Anne and I walked to the cave together and the joy on Anne's face has become a lasting memory
Sainted at 1104 hours
Thanks for your prompt reply to my email
