Well, they are nice guardians, but unfortonately not very conserved. I hope they count as well. Their place is in Vienna and they are real cache guardians - at least one of them

[^] I have noticed these "guardians" since the early 50's when we used to pass them every Sunday morning in our Mercury to pick up my aunt for church. I'm afraid that urban blight in the surrounding area has made this area a little risky to walk around in, but fortunately this building and "guardians" have been spared the spray painted graphitti that adorns so many of the other buildings and landmarks. These are the guardians of the Scottish Rite Auditorium at Linwood and The Paseo in Kansas City, Missouri. Along with my photo with GPSr, I have included a close up shot of the name (engaved in the base) of the artist who created these statues many, many decades ago, Jorgen C. Dreyer Sc. I have also attached some historic photos of this building from the early 1930's and the 1980's. (The rocker/preacher "Little Richard" once had a one night revival meeting in this building in the '80 as I remember) Thanks for setting up this wonderful "Locationless" cache!

There are 12 sphinxes and 1 lion guarding this building. We claimed the one on the far left.
The Sphinx sits outside of a Moseleum In Greenwood Cemetary in Wheeling, West Virginia. The building was erected in 1924.Photos and GPS included. THX
Some really tacky garden sculptures of female sphinxes outside of a garden supply and statuary store on Route 206 in Hillsborough, NJ. These ones are sans wings.
Found this pair in Millville, NJ. Really liked the mural in the background as well, so I included a photo with that.
Diese Sphinx findet ihr im Grünefelder Park bei Waldenburg in Sachsen - Deutschland. Es sind 2 Sphinx-Figuren, die vor einem Tempel stehen.
I spotted this one outside of an antique shop in Great Barrington, MA while on vacation there.
I found a park full of Sphinx figures. There must be dozen of these only in that area, and these are all beautiful and noble ones and with wings. To proof that these really have the body of a lion I had to do one photo of the tail. Also, in the GPS there is a mirror image of myself. These were taken in Vienna, Austria.

Venice's Winged Lion w/Man's Head
Epcot World Showcase
Walt Disney World
Orlando, Florida, USA
Our "Sphinx" is the famous "Winged Lion" of Venice which includes a man's facial features and ears, the body of a lion, and the wings of a bird of prey. This statue is in the Italy section of the Epcot World Showcase.
The statue here in Epcot is atop a column of approximately 40 feet in height, modeled after the famous column near Doges Palace in the Piazetta of Venice, Italy. The winged lion is a symbol of St. Mark and is the mythical guardian of Venice. While by no means an exact copy of Egypt's renowned Noble Guardian, the statue is clearly modeled after the Egyptian Sphinx.
We enjoyed looking through Epcot's World Showcase for locationless cache opportunities -- thanks for adding to the fun of our day at Epcot!
Thanks for the cache!
PS: We didn't take the requested photo with a cacher in the photo, but I hope the four different photos, two including the GPS, make it clear that we actually visited the site and are not just recycling old vacation photos!

There are at least four of these unusual creatures guarding the Shriner's Temple in Cheswick, PA, USA.
This two sphinx is located in a chateau park Duchcov (Dux),north Bohemia, Czech Republic
This pair of sphinx guard a mausoleum in Colma, California (Cypress Lawn Cemetery).
This sphinx is part of a group of Statues found in Scotts Vally in Santa Cruz County in California. (There is also a geocache among the statues as well.)
Super cool Sphinx statues I found during my 18 mile Xootr ride through Springfield, MA. This one resides specifically on Laurel Hill in scenic Forest Park, Massachusetts, USA. No one but me and my Xootr scooter around so I could only shoot the GPS and the Sphinx for the pic but it's legit. Thanks!
I was doing some caching around downtown Indianapolis today and saw an outdoor jazz festival in the parking lot of The Madame Walker Theater - a famous jazz spot as I'm sure that Docto knows about being a former resident here. I always thought he had used the only sphinx in Indianapolis for the "home sphinx" for this locationless. Even though the jazz was outside, I took a minute to walk in and see the really ornate African/Egyptian stage theater inside. I look on the stage and flanking it are two sphinx's. CACHE!! So a quick run back to the car for the camera and GPSr. Thanks
Found this Sphinx in a subtown called Wandsbek, Hamburg / Germany. Thanks for cache
This sphinx guards a mausoleum in North Bergen, NJ at the Flower Hill Cemetery. We could not go into the cemetery because the gates were closed, but we got pictures through the wrought iron fence.
Thanks for the cache!

This Sphinx is located at the World Park in Beijing, China. The park has many replicas of famous structures and sculptures from around the world. It's well worth a visit, if you are in Beijing. There are also replicas of the Egyptian pyramids; you can see them in the background of the attached pictures.
