Beautiful winter morning ... the sun is shining and there is no rain. Great day to get out for a little geocaching. Find #2 TFTC
Back in Epping again on my daily visits so I sidetracked to grab this one. I thought I might regret not wearing waterproof shoes two days in a row but fortunately it wasnt to bad today. This one was well hidden but I just happened to look in the right spot early on and found it. The cache was still tucked away nicely in its hidey hole.A big thanks goes to sbrundan for taking the time to add TIE ME KANGAROO DOWN SPORT to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Are you ready for Victorias next big event?Join us for Victorias first ever *Block Party* to celebrate 25 years of geocaching.**When:** March 22 - 23, 2025**Where:** Hume Global Learning Centre, SunburyLog your will attend at [**GCAP417: The Sunbury Event** ](https://coord.info/GCAP417) Visit our [**Block Party website** ](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/the-sunbury-event) for more details on the exciting lineup of events and activities as they are released!
An all-day event (in comparison to the usual time duration of a geocaching event) drew me up to Whittlesea for a walk whilst caching. It was good to see a familiar face at the event and chat about things geocaching. After bidding the BBQ team farewell I drove over to my starting point for a loop around one small part of the urban area of this fairly large LGA. My logs will include this standard blurb and then a comment or two about each cache separated from this blurb by a dividing line. Thanks to the CO for putting these caches out in this area and thus creating a nice walking/bike loop. Whilst I found most of the caches I attempted there were a couple which I either missed or were not there. I'll be back for those at some point.---Finally! After having passed a number of curious roos on the way to GZ, I can only surmise that they turned my luck. Well that and a thorough check of GZ revealed the hidey-hole. I wonder whether I ought to go back and circle What's Log got to do with it but given blackberry bushes abound the same technique of brushing away vegetation would leave me fairly bloody.
Found the cache laying on the ground so took a guess where it was probably supposed to be. Hole in the lid and a torn sandwich bag may prove to be problematic should rain fall. Otherwise is in great condition. Tftc
I found this cache today on my Mega Geocaching Walk #6 - A 35,000 step walk from Hawkstowe Station throughout South Morang and finishing at Middle Gorge Station. Got this one just before making my fifth crossing under the high tension electricity lines for the day. Thanks from D B-A
We had a couple of false starts with this one, a burnt out container, with $1 in it, a lid which looked like a container ut we eventually got the right one!
It was a warm but not too sunny day... just perfect for a wander around the parks and streets of South Morang... my main objective was simply to get more finds in the City of Whittlesea so that one day I will qualify for the **WCW - Cache Local Mighty Challenge**... a small matter of 200 finds within the LGA.After parking near **Little Lending Library** cache, I set off for my circuit... finding almost all of the caches I came to... and mostly with little difficulty. Plenty of kangaroos to tie down near this cache today. Thanks **sbrundan** for this cache.
Out and about with My good caching mate Omegaman1971, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles.
This is one of the caches found today.
Thanks sbrundan for the cache.

*Found on the 30 Jul 2023 @ 3:18 pm.*
*Cache find # 14881.*
After the CITO event that was on earlier today, I then moved down to this area which I have been too a couple of times before but still haven't finished as I am still needing more finds in the Whittlesea LGA.
This one was visited and found without any trouble.
**Thanks to sbrundan for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**

Nice big cache container found today. Coordinates were spot on and a lively walking track near by. Love it. TFTC
No.2 for today. A lovely walk with my best friend who didn’t particularly like the hoping friends we found along the way.
Don't think we've ever seen any roos out and about in the middle of the day!! Great name to go here as we saw a family of three kangaroos. The papa one was absolutely huge and they were having a nibble only a couple of metres away. Unfortunately a walker on the path across the roos scared them away thanks for the cache!!
A lovely spot to stop and cache, once we'd fought out way across the wet grass, and Team LAKAKAGA spied a big mob of roos right in the middle of new suburbia guarding the cache. A quick find and we were off. TFTC sbrundan
On a weekend trip with with a lovely bunch of women for the Whittlesea event. What would normally be a Kate and Kelly's Amazing Geocaching Adventure (KAKAGA) weekend was this year extended into a LAKAKAGA with the wonderful addition of Laura and Amanda and we had a great time walking and talking and collecting caches at our leisure.
Find number three and we were all very much distracted by the large family group of roos nearby while we tried to approach GZ without scaring them off. Good to see the caches namesake while hunting, albeit gladly not tied down. Nice quick find and sign. TFTC sbrundan

Arrived at our accommodation for the Mega and decided to start early with a few caches to warm up. TFTC
Came up with MazzyMay for the Whittlesea event and we decided to start with a few around where we were staying. Look - kangaroos I said to Mazzy. They had jumped away by the time she looked up. TFTC

Found OK. No kangaroos but this site is rather on the nose! Smell of a dead sheep is rather offputting
Such a beautiful mob of kangaroos happily going about their day. Gave them a wide berth so as not to disturb them but they kept an eye on me as I searched for the cache. Hope they can keep a secret! TFTC
Another stand of trees, lots of firewood lol. Thank you for showcasing this area, never stops surprising me how beautiful some of these suburban parks are
Great spot to sit & write in the log under the shade of the magnificent surviving old trees. TFTC. All in good condition
Really lovely spot and easy find, had trouble getting the log out as so many souvenirs! TFTC
Lots of kangaroos today despite the building works next to them . Had a little seat while I signed the log thankyou
Accompanied with silence49. finding your cache sbrundan, thank you so much for placing it.
Still catching up on late logging from earlier last month. Managed to find a way in and walk to GZ. All was good here as accurate co-ords led right up to it. Always good to find a large cache.
Thanks sbrundan
Thanks sbrundan
Got out for a few finds this afternoon, have walked past here many times and have seen many kangaroos in the past. Mostly where the construction is happening so that may have scared them away.
I continued my walk from The Lakes and found this cache in a beautiful grassy area. Unfortunately I didn't see any kangaroos but I am sure that they are often there.
My plan for 2020 was to find all the caches along Plenty Rd between Bundoora and Whittlesea, but something happened and I had to stay close to home for a few months. I am very glad to be back on my task and found three of your caches today. Thank you sbrundan.

Awesome little hide nice and serene.. didn't have too much trouble finding this treasure. It's stocked with lots of swag swapped the cute little koala with a few Ooshies. Lovely peaceful spot with a natural seat conveniently located nearby. TFTC sbrundan
It’s a great day to be out caching. In my 25km zone of course. Thanks for bringing me to this lovely place.
An even larger cache , stocked full of stuff.

Out for a day's caching in the Mill Park - South Morang area. I found over 20, mainly on my bike - it is a great area for cycling. Thanks sbrundan
Found it! Getting back out. Some ants had made it a home, so I gave it a good shake out and sanitised before replacing. A good little hide!

After the inclement weather we've had this week, I needed to do something, so wandered out to the outer burbs for a walk. A dozen or so smileys (including a couple of former DNFs) later, I'd covered about the same number of kilometres and enjoyed some of the paths of South Morang.
Another cache, another earworm.
Oh, and another regular cache in the burbs. Nice work, sbrundan.

t was great to get out into the outer suburbs and find a pile of nice trads this morning.
It has been a while since I have been up here and after rain the parks looked green and lush.
Thank you sbrundan for your hides. They were great.
Another good sized container

Shame about the high tension wires, but that’s the price we pay for power.

Out with xambo4u, we returned to Mill Park to do a few more caches in this area. Despite the forecast of 33 degrees followed by heavy rain and hail, we had a very successful day.
Another walk in warm weather, to a well hidden easy find.
Thanks sbrundan

Out and about with echidna44 clearing out some more in the North in 33 degrees heat the promise of rain. Finding it interesting to see the northern suburban sprawl with underground wiring - excellent. None of the wolly jumpies round today. Nice easy find here. Thanks for the cache sbrundan
Suscoe headed to Melbourne today in the great company of Bushfire.
We had decided to target some caches along the Plenty Road area and we enjoyed travelling around the Mernda, South Morang suburbs as well as part of Bundorra.
It was a delightful day with plenty of sunshine and a mild breeze for most of the day. It did get quite warm during the afternoon as the cool breeze seemed to disappear.
We had a terrific day and thanks goes to all the cache owners for showing us this area.
Thanks to sbrundan for this hide, a nice walk in a very quiet park.

After claiming a very high D/T challenge cache in the You Yangs yesterday, only a two km walk but the walk there and back was the easy part, but the climb ,thorns and huge rocks proved a huge challenge for the ageing Bushfire who had done the same walk two years ago on his own but two years means a lot when your over eighty, but I made it, so today these caches were very easy but I am still feeling the effects of yesterday.
My very special caching partners, the suscoe’s invited me to tag along for a visit to this area which I have never visited before even though I have been caching since 2005.
I could not get over the number of great old Red Gums that seem to have been reserved with their own little bit of space and the number of old fallen huge old logs that have been given their own space as well.
On my day in this area I logged as I went with FLL, which simply means that I will follow up with a decent log ASAP. I had a please explain from sbrundan as to what it meant so now you know what it means and here is my full log as I said I would place tonight or as soon as possible.
Special thanks to all the cache owners whose caches that we have found today as without you guys placing caches we would be back in the early 2000’s when if you found two or three caches you had a good day and travelled many km to get them, oh so different today.
Thanks sbrundan again for placing this cache for us too find. Still we are finding your caches, you must like old logs and the Red Gum Trees that are everywhere in this area.

Found @06:45 after returning the logbook of another nearby cache (oops). There were quite a few kangaroos watching on as I found this impressively sized cache. Took a puzzle and left a festive pencil pack. TFTC!
Found with the kids today, it was actually my daughter who spotted it first. Plenty of awesome swag in this one. Took something and left a bunch of other stuff.
Thanks so much for another awesome kid friendly find.

Great container great hide, Thanks sbrundan for bringing me here, I was on the return leg of our ride so I diverted for this cache. I left a few coins for the next finders.
