TFTC FurfacesLL for the challenge L.U.C.Y Series 15,000 D1.5/T1.5 Finds Challenge #9. The Canberra Mega has finished but we are still here for a few days before we head back home. We were out with Honeysucker, Wollaston and MeAndDe for a day of caching as we were heading back into Canberra we stopped off at this series of challenges. We found 8 of the 10 as we did not have a necessary tool with us. Not sure of our qualifications at the moment but will check when we get home.
Reperio 11:21Day 5 of our Capital GeoBash mega event trip to Canberra with Miss Vitruvius, and today it was time to head home, but not before finding plenty of caches. We decided to line up the caches around the Sutton area, which had plenty of high DT caches, and plenty of easier ones as well. This one was one of the nicer drive by caches we found today, albeit another tree climb. Gratias FurfacesLLAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

Day 8: Cruising Canberra again Yet again today myself, Anymules and Muff1 set out to try and find a few more caches. A lot of puzzles were solved over many months preparing for this trip so we wanted to grab a few of those. During the last two days the puzzle finds and concentrating on completing the USG series of challenge caches meant that when we checked this morning we had all finally qualified for as particular cache. So that cache, some L.U.C.Y. caches and a special Wedding were the targets for today. ***Thanks FurfacesLL for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
Another fantastic day here in Canberra, the locals have certainly turned the wonderful weather for the event, maybe they had a chat with the Lord Above. We did not find many caches today but they certainly are quality caches. We signed a couple of challenge caches that we do not qualify for but found many others that we do qualify for and signed. The event last night was fantastic with loads of people to chat with. I made it to the outskirts of Canberra late last night and managed to get in a camping spot next to Grannysmith. This made it easy to go out this morning as we set oFf to grab a few caches around the area and in particular the LUCY series. I did not know that she has done a few already. This was an interesting series and a nice road to csche along. Some of the Challenges I know I will qualify for and some I will have to check. Thanks for the series and all logs were signed and caches returned as found I know I do not qualify here, lol

Four years ago, a Bromance team adventure to hike Australia's highest 10 peaks in Kosciuszko National Park was cancelled after bushfires devastated the Snowy Mountains (and indeed most of the Eastern seaboard). We finally returned to Kosciuszko National Park a few days ago and have just spent three wonderful days in perfect weather hiking a circuit around the mountains climbing Australia's 13 highest peaks and collecting all the alpine caches along our route. After a recovery night and a few selected virtual caches in Canberra last night, the plan today is to grab some further chosen caches around Canberra before heading north late afternoon and caching on the way towards Goulburn.Seff wanted to ignore this one, as we will probably never qualify. We just don't tend to do 1.5's/1.5's, despite them being the most common DT. However, I just can't bring myself to not put my name in a high DT 4.5/5.0 (which is needed for my next DT loop) challenge when I am driving past it. Job done. See you in 2040 to claim this one.TFTC FurfacesLL
Crookedpete, JezNDez and I were part of a group of 7 geocachers from Brisbane who set off on a 3 day hike to climb to the summit of 13 of the highest mountains in Kosciuszko National Park. Originally this hike was supposed to have been undertaken after Xmas in 2019 but the rampant bushfires closed the park just as I was picking up my fellow team members from Sydney Airport. Now, four years later and it is finally mission accomplished, and we are slowly making the drive back to Queensland, collecting a number of caches on our to-do list along the way.Well if we though ever finding 5,000 D1.5/T1.5 caches was unlikely, then thinking we would ever meet this challenge is a fever dream. Again we humoured Crookedpete to stop to sign the logbook. Logbook stamped with The Bromance team stamp to save space in the logbook. TFTC
Looks like we qualify for this challenge and now need to sign the log.[Sleepy_hollow](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=Sleepy_hollow) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8F2W7/46034 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.OK: POINTS (90,244){48,897: User has 48897 finds (0 needed) Filters:( difficulties (1.5) )41,347: User has 41347 finds (0 needed) Filters:( terrains (1.5) )}
Today, I came past here with barb2e, Domsky and Smittengranny on an impromptu caching trip. I was the only one who had not signed any of this series and the others had some. So we stopped at each cache and sorted who needed to still sign. Had not had time to check my eligibility, but from previous checks I had put succeeding in this far in the future. I need to find a lot more caches to qualify for most of them. TFTC
I had an absolutely fabulous day thanks to Domskys, who even picked me up from home to go after some very challenging Challenge caches. We were joined by barb2e and Isopeda for a pretty full-on day. Although originally the aim had been the challenge caches, we were soon tempted to change plans and try for a FTF. That didn't quite work out, but 2nd TF is not to be sneezed at. We then continued on, grabbing a handful of various caches that seemed to get in our way. But then, who's complaining? The cache was located and then Domsky's performed her magic again to retrieve and sign the log. I will have to check with Project-GC to see if I am eligible to claim this as a find. TFTC FurfacesLL

After the Dream Team found a targeted tree cache down the road it was decided that we were close enough to sign the remainder of the series while we had some key TOTTs in the cars. So, in convoy we went.
Although none of us qualified for any caches of this series today we hoped that in another life the log may still count. For some caches we don't expect to qualify ever but we had a lot of fun in the process. Thx FurfacesLL.

Tried the checker on the 4 of these L.U.C.Y caches in between DSD's Animal series today, but have fallen well short on each one. The numbers required seem a little elitist to me, but thanks for the series FFLL. I'll look forward to hopefully qualifying one day.

Cache found and logbook signed while on a week-long caching trip over to NSW and Victoria from Adelaide with gridge98.
Our main targets were the wherigo and challenge cache series’ around the Yass and Goulburn areas, although we also found quite a few other Unknown, multi, letterbox, virtual and traditional caches of interest along the way. We even managed to attend an event at Sutton and did a couple of caches just over the border in the ACT.
The middle of winter around the shortest day was probably not the best time to schedule our trip, particularly as we were camping. But despite a little bit of rain one night and sub-zero temperatures on another, the weather wasn’t too bad, albeit on the cloudy and cool side.
In all we covered about 3,300 km over the week and managed almost 350 finds each.
According to the checker at Project-GC, I am yet to qualify for this challenge.

Sol de lune dropped by to pick me up and we headed off for a couple of events with a spot of caching in between. After attending the CITO, it was time for more caching before our next event at lunch time. This series was our major target for today and we managed to find all of them and add our names to the logs.
Just under 1,000 left on this one, so adding a note after signing the log today.

After the busy (and wet) summer had finished, The Rats floated the idea of a trip to the area around Canberra and Yass with Steeba and myself. We compared diaries, and had a two day mid-week window where we could make things happen, in the week wedged between Easter and ANZAC Day.
The weather was on our side for the first time in I forget how long, and we were able to make the most of our time opportunity.
A lot of excellent caches were found, and some fantastic terrain caches too. A few power trails, some crafty hides, some hard hides, and even some climbs that I could not do... even with our ladder!
Thank you to all of the cache owners for placing their hides. This boiler plate log does not reflect the quality of the hides. Most importantly thanks as always to my two great caching mates for their company!

And... Just like that, after nearly 16 years of caching, I have completed my first lap of my Matrix! Finally!

The Gong Gangsters (steeba, Hoojar and The Rats) took advantage of an extended Easter / Anzac break to head out for another caching juggernaut through the Southern Highlands and Yass regions. Blessed with beautiful weather we targeted a few powertrails and high D/T rated caches.
After 2 full days we'd collected a plethora of finds, made some new friends, laughed alot, pushed our bodies beyond the comfortable level and most of all - had a great time with mates. Thanks to all the CO's for your caches and those who tagged along.

DNF’d this on the day it was published back in June 2020 due to a conflicting Terrain rating which has since been amended!
I haven’t been in a rush to come back and try again to sign the log as I know I don’t qualify, and I now estimate that it will take me a further 3-5 years to qualify for this challenge with the way I cache.
Hopefully one day, but not in the near future!
Thanks FurfacesLL, a crazy tough challenge! I had to kill some time today whilst in the area so decided to finally get my name in it so I’ve done the physical component!

Out on a solo run to grab this series of caches. Managed all the low hanging fruit however I will need to come back for a couple of tree climbs that were just a little out of my reach when on my own. No issues with this one and my name was soon in the log.

This week consisted of getting away from work early enough to visit a cache, either on my scooter or driving, to try and continue building up my calendar finds days. Some days needed a specific cache type as well. This week was nice weather wise and made for a pleasant afternoon.
I had the ladder today, so decided to stop here for my Unkown on the way to Bungendore. No problems getting the cache once I managed to locate it.

Catching up on some very late logs.
Day 3 of our planned assault on Canberra with the same group consisting of The Drovers, Phetlern, Micaparamedic,
Alansee GoodLook, and ourselves.
We had another busy but very enjoyable day chasing series caches and happily we found all we were looking for with no DNF's
We all had a fantastic day and would like to write more but as we have said when you do so many in such a short time it is hard to remember individual hides.
This in no means takes away from our appreciation to the CO's for all the effort, time and expense they have done to let us find so many caches.
As per the other two days we signed as "The Mob" to save room in the log books.
Many thanks /// for the hides and the fun.
Wow - we so lucky to be able to explore so many different areas of the Aussie landscape following our passion for the geo game, particularly in the company of Alansee, Good Look, Micaparamedic, Team Crackers and The Drovers. (For economy of space logs of caches we found are stamped "The Mob"

We stamped the logs as "The Mob" to save space in the logs - today there were 6 teams caching together: Team Crackers, The Drovers, Phetlern, Alansee, the lovely micaparamedic and myself.
Most of the cache finds were straight forward, yet a couple stumped us. A few were located where it was difficult to safely pull the car off of the road, but we made it work with some creative maneuvers.
2020 was not a great year, and the beginnings of 2021 have also been tricky - so when it looked like the various borders would be open again (without quarantine restrictions), a trip that was planned at the Clear Waters mega was able to occur.
Adelaide, Victoria, NSW and Canberra - a decent drive, filled with various caching activities including Adventure Labs.
Several days caching with the awesome Team Crackers, gorgeous The Drovers, fab Phetlern, cool Alansee, and the lovely micaparamedic.
We laughed, sang to a vast variety of songs and chatted - almost non-stop! [^] We piled into cars and had such a fun time. Despite the light showers, windy conditions at times, we also had sunny days to enjoy caching in.
A sincere thanks to FurfacesLL for placing these caches, an enjoyable little caching series.

Found this challenge cache while staying in Canberra for a week. Hope to achieve this challenge one day???
Cache found and log signed however do not meet requirements of Challenge yet.
This was a very challenging series. Some caches we do not qualify for, some we probably never will and some we did not have the equipment or physical abilities to retrieve. So we just did the best we could. This is one of the caches that was achieved and retrieved.
