Oh my goodness we found this one, I can't really believe it! What an adventure to get here and then to find it! We did have to take to the logs to try get some further tips and tried all sorts of things but in the end really what we came up with was us just needing to bravely/stupidly go in. Deep breath! I went right into the back and had good look while Mr KBclan who was right at the front, hardly even in shouts got it so loud I nearly died under the boat!Took us so much exploring and juggelling to keep the kids safe (and dry) but what a feeling to find it. Nature is taking this area over and I wonder if a time will come where you will walk right over the top of these boats not knowing they are even there, we almost did today. There were the most amazing fungus! The size of dinner plates! Hard solid things. Fascinated us all. TFTC

In the area today with a pass for some long awaited cache location, and had this location on my radar for sometime.....As it was during the week enabled me easy searching in the park today.....Fav.point for the location on this one ...very cool location ....very overgrown...The cache is all good.TFTC.Razz

Best cache of the day!!! The boys loved crawling around in the bushes. TFTC

I was here on the 4th of June? I can't believe I left so many logs in the draft folder - sorry to all cache owners!

-----

We braved the haunted stream and the haunted boats - no spirits this time, but I'm pretty sure I saw something in the pond...
How on earth did these boats get down to the harbour? Did the stream really ever flow that high?

Thanks for bringing us to this really cool spot - be careful when reaching to grab the cache if it's wet! It can be suuper slippery (ask me how I know)

Signed Cephy and Snarsha

A solo excursion for Mr Coblet.
I didn't know what to expect with this one. I read a few previous logs and saw it had a few DNFs so I was hoping luck would be on my side.
I was pleased that the weather report today had been wrong and it was quite a nice day with no rain at all. But recent rain had made the area very muddy and slippery and any more may have led me to abandon the mission.
I could see the wreck through the bushes and very carefully clambered towards it.
I would love to know what led to this being here, I could even go as far as saying it is "Ferry" impressive,
I felt around a bit but had no luck so decided to try what was probably a rather risky move in the slippery conditions. But after a bit of careful scrambling I was successful in reaching my intended destination and was very pleased to be rewarded with the very nicely camouflaged cache. So well done, I almost overlooked it.
I got back to safer ground via a slightly different route than I had used to come in and was feeling quite victorious.
But if I hadn't found it I would definitely have come back "schooner" or later.
A definite favourite point.
Thanks G-2

Despite the rain, I wanted to get a few caches this weekend. I headed to Paremoremo to pick up Sid, and we decided to go for a walk around Sanders Reserve and see what we could find!

We ended up with 5 DNFs (aka reasons to come back) and 8 finds, with 6 not attempted. Definitely an excuse to come back!

Wow! Would have never known this was here! Shame we didn’t find the cache too! We had a good hunt around, finding both bits of boat, however came up empty! Will have to come back.

My question is how did it get there!!! If you know, feel free to PM me!!!

We were somewhat unsure what the cache title could mean here - and then we spotted it. We spent quite some time searching as per the hint before reading some older logs and finding that there was indeed more than one lost boat. Made our way a bit further downhill and spied another example. Once we were finally in the right Green Spot the cache itself was soon revealed. Thanks for bringing us to see this.

Team G0LD on a mission again today, with the 4 hiders event in the afternoon the main target. A walk around Sanders Reserve at Paremoremo was also planned if the weather held up, and it did, thank goodness.

Well this one was a bit of a mission. The direction we approached involved wading a stream and then some serious ivy navigation. By reading the hint carefully, I sorted my east from my west and dived in for the rescue. Yep, there was the classic G-2 hide and very pleased to make a relatively quick find here today.

Not sure how someone's one time pride and joy ended up here in this condition, but certainly a neat cache in a most unusual location, so gets a FP from me. TFTC

Out with Team Gold today collecting a few caches in the Albany area. How did a boat get here? After a little looking around we eventually located this tricky hide. TFTC. Favourite point from me.

19-Jun-22
Team G0LD was on another geocaching trip to Auckland. A group of 4 hiders sharing their passion and knowledge of cache making was the main event today.

We left Whangarei at a reasonable hour (7am) this morning to spend the morning walking around Sanders Reserve at Paremoremo. We were very fortunate the weather played ball.

Captain Green Spot must still be in his Magesty's nearby facilities because we didn't become a victim of his vengeance. His prize possession is certainly looking worse for wear.

As for the treasure hunt some scrambling around was done by the team. No gang plank was found to aide our mission but one of us managed to climb inside. Yippee. Cunningly camouflaged the treasure was indeed. Thanks for the fun here Smile

I didn't imagine this cache was going to be so tough! I brought my e-bike down by the big pine tree, left it there, while I walked down, down, down. I could see this crossed a stream, and yet I could cross the depths in dry jandals... dry jandals???? What the.. shoes are needed here, (gumboots in winter) never mind... I have what I have, jandals it is. I huffed and puffed, making sure I didn't cut myself on the offending boat, did I mention ants? At one spot almost nowhere near GZ, as I leaned on the carcass, ants decided to invade my carcass, I was swatting them here and there.... waddled closer to the otherside, climbed, slid down, is the cache there under there? yes it was... omg, this was a mission as such.

So pleased to find the little bugger, damn G, you did well to place a cache here, well done mate. I was a happy chappy to get this one, a FP from me for the coolness. You are right... how on earth did this get here!

Found remarkably quickly- well mister e did. Bit of a crazy one

found with flossieteacake and family. this was a really cool hiding place, not too sure how you would know this is here without looking for the cache. it was a bit confusing which end to start looking at but we found it eventually. TFTC

Lost boat? Lost us trying to work out how to get back to the path.

In agreement with a previous finder, we couldn't work out east/west so shouted to Daddypig123 to go 10m back up the path and tell us which way was east (without his phone because we were using it). Also put our big girl pants on and just got inside. Not sure the cache was at the east end, but spotted something that might be hiding some treasure and there it was.

Next treasure hunter might need to bring their pirate cutlass (or a pair of secateurs) to get through the gorse.

Think I signed as HP family because we all went down there.

Love your descriptions G_2. They're half the fun! Had all 3 of my boys on and around the "haunted" ship. Took a little while but Husband eventually found it. 9 year old pointed out that from the angle we were standing, the ship looked like a shark. This is our 250th find! Thanks

Wow. A defo favourite point coupled with utter fun & madness to get this smiley.
Ditched my day bag on the ground along with my car keys & phone. Had a last minute read of the cache page, then got a leg over to get to GZ. I dont like creepy crawlies but i like yellow smilies so i put my big girl pants on & went "there".
Well i wasnt very successful, port\starboard vs east\west, cobwebs galore, ugh. I got a bit down & dirty. Finally refocussed on something & yahoo, there was the cache.
Only geocachers are mad enough to find this. Loved it. Last cache for the day & 19\19 at Sanders. Terrific day. TFTC Big Grin

That was a pretty cool location! Nice little explore for us! Th 7 year old enjoyed the story!

10-Dec-21
Keylev took the day off and I thought I'd join her for a day of caching on a Friday! We organised the trip with our kids and started off on this route.

Trying my best to dodge the the tall grass because of allergies, we found a path more direct to the side. Keylev was searching this area for a while but to no avail. We soon gave up and I had an army of ants to show for it.

10-Dec-21
Took a much needed annual leave day off work and hatched a plan with B4Dawn to meet up with the geo-kids for a wander for the day.

Absolutely loved the description and the adventure here. Found a couple of boats, a lot of ivy and even more ants but unfortunately we just couldn't locate the cache today.

Am unable to give this a fav point but I would if I could even without the smile as it was great fun and this is what I love about the caches you put out...you find these amazing hidden spots. Thank you!!

10-Dec-21
No luck for us today but had a heap of fun clambering around here - thanks!

Nice hiding spot. Took a little searching & braving the spiders but found

Out for a walk around Sanders Reserve with AliGle on this beautiful day. I've cached here before, but took the opportunity to grab some of the newer ones. This was an unusual feature to come across, soon found the cache after carefully making my way down to GZ. TFTC!

Out and about at Sanders Reserve with Vistra. A beautiful day for some caching. Most unusual place to find a boat!

10-Mar-21
Whilst hanging out at the reserve with Geokid6 and his friend who hadnt geocached before (!), waiting for their brother's who were doing a biking session with their Cub pack, I decided this might the perfect cache to tackle with two 6 yr olds! Safe to say it went down very well (as no doubt the boat would too!) Swapped some swag, dropped TB59B6G. Thanks CO - awesome job Smile

29-Dec-20
Indeed a strange place to find a boat and not a small one. Took a little bit of searching, but found the nicely hidden cache, thanks G

A day out in the Suppa City with KGD and ABCDF4 to tidy a
few caches in the area, thanks to the Cos for the placements

14-Nov-20
Find number 7033. On a mission with ABCDF4 and eyespyben to grab a few caches in this area. I really enjoyed the walk around this park. Lots of people and dogs in one area while it was quiet in the other half. Thank you for bringing me here.

14-Nov-20
Decided to have a day cacheing day just out of Auckland
With EyespyBen and KGD
Never been out to Sanders Reserve
Lovely walk,nice easy find

08-Nov-20
Spent at least 15 minutes searching around for this last weekend, but had no joy. So I came back today with reinforcements, which made all the difference. The wonderful Pazza, who is younger and much more agile than me, was able to clamber down and grab the fabulous treasure in no time at all. Great camo. Another G-2 FP !

08-Nov-20
I think this cool cache is a very fitting one for my #3000th. Now that I have reached this milestone, all counting of caches can cease and I hearby declare myself the winner of all geocachers. All other counts will be declared as fraud and I'm prepared to take this to the supreme court to prove it.

Found the boat but no luck finding the cache here

12-Sep-20
Sure is a puzzle how this got here. A bit tricky getting there without stepping into the muddy creek. Lucky to find it in first place I looked. Tftc

Adding my name to those who can't see the obvious.

Had a good luck around but couldn't fund this one in the boat!

I have no idea how you found this, but glad you did as it's a classic. Glad I have found plenty of yours before and knew what to expect.

Spent a good amount of time here this afternoon.Quickly made our way over to the boat but took our time trying to get to some parts without having an accidents. Finally got to where we wanted to search but gutted to say I couldn’t find it.Hopefully I can come back another time.

Heading back to the car, the long way round, and just 2 more before calling it quits. Crossed the stream, a few times over the culvert, and up and down the path before sighting the cache titled item. Made my way carefully and had a Jaws scene recollection before hunkering down for a search. Using the tactile approach for a few options one looked different and yielded the log. All good and replaced as found, just as I'm placing and FP here. T F T C G-2

Well it seems we truly are in G-2 land, 2nd weekend day caching and a second double figure haul day, a modest 11 for today to add to yesterdays 10 in Long Bay and an increase in this CO's caches nudging a few South Island cache hiders down 'the list'. A good day to be out today, just a little bit of squally rain then clear and sunny for the rest of the day. Was a bit squishy underfoot in places, but nothing my sneakers didn't cope with.
Looks like I'm just a week behind South Island Kiwimykl and NZDi for the second day in a row and a great place out here at Sanders Reserve. I had slight hopes of clearing the lot but a DNF and patience losing wife had me dialling back the targets and pledging to return for the rest another time.

What an unusual find here. Climb around a bit then those words come from Dot. I found it. Wow cool find. Nicely crafted cache. Enjoyed the find. Tftc

Found the boat, but too clever for me, will have to save the find till next time. A DNF today Sad

29-Feb-20
Oh this is the boat one - yeah looked around the wrong hole before spotting something odd

Had arranged to meet Pagenz here for a walk and a catch up. Beautiful day for a walk, lots of breeze which cooled down the weather a bit. Headed down here first, always amazes me how you find these places. Pagenz took one for the team and ventured down to the actual lost boat where the cache was easily found. TFTC

Out and about with Team Welsh, enjoying a walk, chat and finding caches along the way. T4tc

Cool spot!

07-Feb-20
I decided to take advantage of this day off work to go for a walk around Sanders Reserve and find the new hides recently placed out that way. So, after lunch I made my way out into the hot sun for some exercise and cache finding. After finding "courses for horses" I took the direct route to GZ straight down the hill. This was added by the fact that a stray hay bail, of the round variety, had rolled down the hill, straight through one fence and left a nice trail through the scrub to follow right near GZ. I made my way over the creek and soon found myself at GZ. I quickly spied a likely hidey spot. But it too some navigation of the tricky terrain to safely get there. Once there the find was confirmed. Favourite point for the mini adventure. Cheers for the cache placement!

01-Feb-20
It's amazing what you find geocaching, thanks for bringing us here

What an interesting place to hide a cache!
How on earth did you find this G-2!
Many thanks for the experience!
Favourite Point!

Set out early with Merlot58 as it was forecast to be a scorcher of a day. Initially we weren't sure of the best approach to this one, and after checking the maps we were soon at the missing boat. After a brief search we located the well camo'd cache which earns a FP.

27-Jan-20
As we were only the 3rd people to find this there was no well worn geotrail to show which was the best way to access the lost boat, I'm sure that will change with more people visiting. We made our way in and clambered over and under and soon found this very well crafted cache. I love what you've done here so fp from me. I'd love to discover the story of how this boat was abandoned here in the middle of nowhere!

27-Jan-20
Well done here! Maybe the boat was used by Captain Cook on his 22`nd landing in New Zealand ? Nice work on container. Enjoyed this hide best in Sanders Reserve today on Auckland Anniversary Bank Holiday Monday. TFTC!

26-Jan-20
It was time to head back out to Sanders Reserve to find all the new caches that had appeared this week. I left early to find a few more on the way and to complete the walk before it became too hot.

This cache definitely deserved its DT rating! It was hard enough gaining access to even start searching - let alone trying to look with my backpack on. Once I took it off I had a much easier time clamouring around the tree. Once in the right location, I searched a few spots before discovering the well-concealed cache. I had no idea there was a lost boat hidden here amongst the wandering dew.

FTF with AlunB.
I'd quickly changed into cuffy footwear, before heading out, as my feet were quite sore. I had thought 'Sanders Reserve - foot paths' I could get away with jandals.
This cache reminded me, I obviously haven't done enough caching and have forgotten what it's like. Jandals, really aren't suitable.
However managed to get to GZ, just don't tell my knee surgeon what i've been upto without his clearance.
We both reminisced on the previous cache in this area. TFTC

23-Jan-20
Gosh almost got lost finding this one, certainly worthy of its three star rating. I clambered in and passed the blank [FTF] log up to Helefant. Interesting spot you found there G2, TFTC FP from me, cheers
