Archiving this one, we've just had a New Years Day flood rip through this area and while I haven't gone to investigate the bridge from all photos and videos I've seen if the cache was still here before this it is definitely gone and I won't be able to replace it for a while due to extensive damage. So see you later Hopping Dicks Creek, thanks to everyone that found it during its time.
It’s a strange day today… we dropped our dog at the Ekka this morning at 6:30… we can’t even watch… so to take our mind off the drama of the Ekka Dog Show, Blkthunder and I are caching through the Tweed Valley…
The vague plan was to work our way from Murwillumbah to Tyalgum along Tyalgum Road… that fell apart when I came across a road closed…
Our only DNF of the day… expecting a quick find in the usual location we failed to find anything… the rail and parts of the shoulder look new… so that may explain the missing cache…

Murwillumbah Day 2
Our caching companions today were the Snakepitters, We planned a circular route that took us out along farming country side, with amazing mountain views, & flowing creek beds.
It was a good day out with some great cache hides in some wonderful locations
Thankyou LizBeth1998 for placing this cache.

After spending the day with the cousin in Tyalgum, I felt like I needed to get at least some caching in while in the area and went for an hour long caching mission to find 12 caches and see more of the pretty area and sunset views.
Quick find, nice cache, all in good order.
Thank you LizBeth1998 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Another trip south of the border to finish off an Adventure Lab and to catch some smiles. Make a list of the caches, print out some new border passes, pack the hand sanitizer, hoh hum!
Another quick park and grab. It is still 42C so not much time to look around. TFTC LizBeth1998

Found at 10:22 AM GAFF1.
With the cattle mooing in the background we had to reach a long way in to get to that one!
Thanks LizBeth1998.

Had an afternoon free so thought I would go to a couple of spots to look for birds got my annual list and also attempt a few of the caches that had been placed since my last visit a year ago - good to see a range of new caches around Murwillumbah. Such a pleasant drive and most of the caches were quick finds - and even got a FTF to boot.
This one was the first attempted and was a quick find of a typical hide at this location. Log signed before the next car appeared and quickly on my way.

Thanks for placing this geocache at a spot where there is a conveniently placed writing desk, my log is so neat! It is a shame the Lolly Bag loop is not loved by the owners any more and I thank you for maintaining it for them. The cache was found during our Leap Day 2020 roadtrip, a day which saw us attend an event in the morning, find a stack of caches, do a fair chunk of maintenance due to recent torrential rains and another event for dinner! We also managed to complete 24 geocaches in 24 hours so I can now go and buy a new geocoin! This is now also a new record for us, beating our 2012 record of 22 finds. All is good with this geocache.
One of the many caches we stopped at on our way back from lunch at Tyalgum, quick find
A day out to Chillingham markets and some caching with Bebbles61 & NikkiRB nice hide TFTC

When I saw the name of this cache I instantly knew it was Lizzy's. So I decided I needed to come out this way to have a look at the Hopping Dicks. Amazingly, it was still a bit wet after a such a long dry spell!. Not much momentum in it though.
It took me a little while to spot it, but after looking here and there I could see it waving back to me, so formalities were done and the cache was put back where it lives.
Great little place in the Northern Rivers, had to take a Dicks Pic and attach it to this log. Hope it gets wetter again soon! Loved it! Thanks Lizzy!

Going out to the Tyalgum area for the day, stopped here to find this cache. Parked very close and hopped out find the cache. Found very quickly, signed the log, returned where found and was on the way. TFTC LizBeth1998
Spent many a time walking along the banks of this creek as a kid. So sad to see it with so little water in it - have seen it when it has been in flood a few times - but not like Cyclone Debbie though! Thanks.
We are impressed with the strength of the new bridge and can imagine the devastation and destruction Debbie must have wrought here. This new bridge looks like it should last some time now though. We had some handsome young bulls watching us find the cache here today and hope they can keep a secret. Cache was found in good condition and we gladly signed the log. Thanks for bringing us out here for the drive LizBeth1998. The Jacarandas were in full bloom and struck us with their beauty and there was even one right here near GZ. Thanks for this cache and cheers and happy caching!
