TFTC! Already 37 degrees perfect location for morning tea in the shade, oh and a cache is the bonus! Lots of water running and quiet fast, made it across and found it!
With a morning to get out and grab a few caches, DAB and I jumped at the chance to select a few caches that we wanted. It rained for a bit of the drive there but soon stopped for us to start caching.
Once we were on the right side of the River (the river was up and flowing fast today) we carefully negotiated the water to reach what we thought was the correct tree. The GPSr had us at 3m. We couldn't spot it anywhere. We tried the spoiler photo but depending on the angle, we couldn't match that up either. I decided to go a bit further along. And in doing so slipped of the tree branch and smashed my leg That's the second time doing the CO's caches that I have done this, thankfully todays effort wasn't as bad as the last. After moving about 10m away from where DAB was still looking, I finally spotted the cache. Wow that was a lot more difficult than either of us thought and the terrain certainly tested us today.
**Our thanks to anikano for hiding this cache for us to find**

With a handful of caches loaded into the GPSr, it was time to hit the road with Na'wal. The weather was not on our side today, with sporadic bursts of rain to dampen our spirits. It soon cleared up though and we had a very successful today.
Na'wal had a bit of a mishap here, but luckily nothing too serious. After widening our search area, he made the find. TFTC anikano

Finishing our holiday, we had planned a stop in Winchelsea for lunch. Glad we did as we all enjoyed Kenty's Bakery. After getting food we ate it down by the river looking at the old Bluestone bridge.
Reading the description of this cache while eating, we knew this had to be our first cache in Winchelsea. We enjoyed the nice stroll along the river and got to the fast flowing river over the rocks.
Son2 was then straight into the rock hoping, but of course he over established his ability and slipped off a slippery rock ankle deep into the water. So he turned around, putting the other foot in the water too. I took it a little bit slower and with my longer legs, only got the bottom of my shoes wet before making it across.
Getting out of the river into a tree, I looked up to see it right in front of my face. Signed my name and 999HKs, before making a safe crossing back.
Thanks for the cache anikano

From times long ago, we remember:
A pinch and a punch on the first of the month!
The calendar shows Sunday the first of November:
No pinching or punching, - a great afternoon for geocaching!
(The saying apparently originated after Geo.Washington provided local Indian tribes with a supply of fruit punch laced with a pinch of salt each month)
The river was running high, so with a bit of investigation, we found another way to access this gem.
Our thanks to 'anikano' for fascinating & informative cache notes & a neat hide at an interesting location.

River was to deep to cross, but luckily we had approached from the right side. Cache was found with only one of us getting wet.
Out today with sorceysal to clean up some caches in the area. A very apt name for you and I think and you should be proud of it. I don't know your friend 'the explorer'
As per another log of mine, this cache brought back memories of my youth and rock hopping but this time it was a little slower and with much more concentration that I crossed the river. It took way too long. I simply should just have got wet feet.
Anyway once across the search began on the wrong tree. Eventually positions were changed and it was soon spotted. A nice easy step or two and the cache was in hand.
Now to get back across the river. A bit quicker this time with a short stop to admire the scenery. it was good.
Back at the car it was time for a cuppa before moving on.

Out with 6hinemoa2 to finish the Bambra series and clean up a few caches along the way. A beautiful place to sit and admire the bubbling river going past. 6h2 made the very careful and treacherous crossing as my knees and hips are not quite up to rock hopping. My heart was in my mouth at times whilst watching her manoeuvre across the slippery rocks. A great effort had the log signed. Thanks anikano
Suscoe decided to have a nearby Western District wander today seeing as it was going to be a mild Summer's day.
We weren't disappointed with the weather, after a cool start it turned out to be a delightful sunny day with a few clouds and a cool breeze.
The roads were very quiet for the entire journey there (Carlisle River) and back.
Thanks to anikano for this hide, that was a bit of a fun way to end a day of caching.
Made the crossing without too much trouble and soon located the cache.
Time to head home after around 250 kms travelled in around 5 hours.

With tonight being the last day of the month we were already looking forward to next month and trying to secure a fisrt to find for our streak of find at least one in each consecutive month with is currently at 48 months straight. We had our eye on a couple of replacement cache in the Bambra area so while on our way there for a midnight find AusFox; Neville_devil and myself thought we would grab a few smileys around Winch.
This one looked like a fun challenge in the dark. We are very accustomed to doing what other would class as silly things and this would probably be classed right up there. The crossing was interesting enough but thing were made more challenging with the millions of swarming bugs that were attracted to our lights. We all made the crossing in the trying conditions all though I thought AusFox; was going to have a mishap at one point with a small slip.
hunting for the cache at GZ did take a few minute probably because of the advisability issues being night time and swarms of bug but it was located and we were all signed in.
Thank you anikano for the well thought out placement

On a balmy evening which went from 40° to 25°in a matter of hours, leaving the air thick with humidity. I joined up with SimsFamily and Neville Devil to grab a few caches around Winchelsea and Bambra.
We spotted the best approach across the stream, making every effort not to step on the slippery slime. Once across we were greeted with and airborne protein soup of millions of small bugs consumed with every breath. It didn’t stop the search which took a while to find in the dark.
Once returned to the car we still had half of them with us for the journey to the next hide.
Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache anikano

1 log since publishing - well this cache needed some love! Kudos to the Triton completing this at night for the FTF. The warm weather meant the river crossing was a bit easier, though we upped the terrain level somewhat by balancing a 3 year old on the back as we worked our way to the cache. The phone GPS was pretty vague so we used the image to guide our search and soon had the cache in hand. A great place for exploring! Thanks for sharing anikano.
Container changed to a sturdier black preform with water proof log. All good to go
Having already got our FTF for the month today, there wasn't any urgency when 5 new caches got published in the Geelong area, especially as we were in Ballarat lol As it was time to leave for home we noticed it still wasn't found so we made a quick decision to go via Winch and try our luck here. Of coarse it was dark when we approached the carpark, so the trusty headlamp was adorned so the fit Triton could manage his way to GZ without mishap. As it turned out he still had his gumboots on from an earlier cache which worked out perfect to make his way through the mini rapids , rock hopping as he went, some were slippery ,so care was taken . Once over the other side the tree was tackled and our team name added to the fresh new logbook.
A pretty area that he had not actually explored before, despite growing up only 200 metres away. Apparently the boys always ventured up the river to the right (towards grandparents home) and never came this way.

Thanks Safari Girl for the fun hide and showing us an unchartered area.
