Thanks to the CO, TeamCV and Lions & Lambs, finally got a smiley! If not for the CO's gift coords, this would have been one of those ultra-frustrating DNF's like GC2HRX7 or Extreme Ice Cream. Still pretty confused about certain answers... the Southland team had got something different again, so they've also been saved by the CO. A frosty morning excursion, 45 minutes up, much easier going when the ground is frozen and an easy find in the obvious place... once we were at the correct coordinates, duh! The original name of the cache would be perfect for s trad here. Views, sun, two hot air balloons, a quail, a skylark (or might it be a pipit?) and we heard falcons in the pine trees.
**A picture is worth a thousand words.** 450 will do. I luv a decent multi I can sink my teeth into. Let google do it's magic on publishing night when we were supposed to be having Summer with no unlogged caches for 50mi and toolbox nailed some luvly sites deserving some great spots on the clearly marked public walkway on the 'most important' geocache map for a new owner's multi cache in a town that is only starting to attract real puzzle solvers other than the 'just passing through; need something to eat' types at lake level or the park'n'grabs where so many TB's get stolen never to see the inside of a cache or swag bag again. Mind you trad ammo cans aren't safe from honest mugglers either. A previous attempters hour long search confirmed a stray ammo can wouldn't be found chucked in the broom to be delivered back to a CO's Arrowtown pad once more but an archived cache still sat in place with it's 2008 logbook noice'n'dry figuratively nearby. *Vox Clamantis in Deserto*.
The end of a busy Spring with one challenge just finished, the 'Rona poured cold water and sanitiser on the settled Autumn weather and annual leave got canceled. A failed attempt left this unfound cache get pooh pooh'd while the original published method solution confirmed the right publicly accessible zone and waited disabled for just the right new cachers to pounce on the FTF after gathering the numbers and completing the discovery of the big 520ml lock'n'lock with the 2018 logbook in dry hide.
I don't have much time for QTown, not too many caches have been left unlogged in the district and here I am again walking to a cache GZ in the dark, literally by moonlight, frozen mud and yep, 25mt odd metres off the known spot but once at the GZ; where would you hide it? *No Skindo hides here or PMO Corokia Virgata with SPOR 15mt off co'ods either*. Too far away at the end of the public walkway states the private property signs warning no further access, *ahem too far away twice over from the GZ* and a clear **'no dogs allowed'** sign at the start. Found the clear box at the hint and signed the 3rdTF spot in the red book and chucked in some swag after marking in the GC code. Back to the carpark by 7:30pm taking the same track others had mentioned adding another shortcut to the map. No more unfound caches left in QTown again. Thanks for leading me here for your first cache Shay. Me likes the DT Jasmer dot even with the adjustment from 3.5 to 4.0, it was a valued addition to PJ_GC. 3) RSJ [^] **First MemLane cache 7pt**.

Thanks to CO for messaging - turns out our earlier coordinate check with a previous finder was a dud - so we were looking 200 m away from actual GZ. That's caching!
We couldn't go to Skippers due to snow so this was plan B on the spur of the moment. Lots of people!
Sadly hadn't got around to asking the earlier finder for an explicit clue - would advise people do this because after being on site I think coordinates are about 20 m out. No hide possibilities at GZ, quite a few 15 - 30 m away. Apparently the hide also involves a bush. Searched for as long as possible, but the non-cachers got bored so had to call it off.
This would be an excellent place for a decent-sized traditional or a virtual, to bring people up for the view. Interesting how the less you can see of Queenstown, the better thd view is! Thanks for the incentive to go the extra 15 minutes beyond where we've gone before. Will have to go up again sometime in the distant future once the coordinates are checked.
But something worrying about the placement. Has it got permission from the landowner?
Realised from signs on the track and another firmly-worded sign close to GZ that this cache has been placed on private land and the landowner doesn't want people going too far. Yes, there is a walkway BUT this is only permission for walking, not for placing a cache. I know from personal experience that a landowner can be very happy encouraging people to use a path over their property while also absolutely refusing to have any cache on their land! Unfortunately there is nothing written in the description about permission being granted by the landowner. Presumably this was obtained and provided to the reviewer when the cache was submitted? If so, would the CO please add a sentence to the writeup that the cache is placed on private land with permission? If not, then the thing to do is disable the cache while you ask for permission.

Solved - thanks to TeamCV for the geocheck - but might not be able to go for that walk considering the weather forecast. Especially since apparently the final coordinates are a bit off! [Amendment - have now been contacted by CO with more info - thanks. Seems TeamCV and i both got the wrong answer for F. ]
To clarify the 5 answers you need to solve: D and J are fine, solvable on the ground or online. Number F isn't actually the number of times the letter "a" is used in the words over the Patagonia chocolate shop door, lake side of shop, but if you take this number minus one you'll get the correct F. For Number I there doesn't seem to be any historical information at the WP outside the Bathhouse, but you can calculate from other sources the age of the building at the time of that major flood that caused the building to be raised 0.5m. Number H is the par for a particular hole of the disc golf course which can be found online via the club website images - there is no sign at the WP. (Why not change the WP to the tee for that particular hole? The tee sign shows the par.) The CO said some WPs DO require you to go inside the business premises, but didn't say which these are. Hope this clarification helps others.

Hi shaymurray - looking through this cache listing it's hard to work out what information you need to find. Hopefully some of the questions will make sense once at the various waypoints, but...
3) Chocolate ibeam. "The answer is above the door" Answer = F (#AS)"
Does this mean, count the number of letter a's is whatever word/s are written above the door? Or does "#AS" mean something else?
6) Par (k): Disc Golf. Is it the Par for the first "hole" Windy Way that you want?
From a past log, it sounds like the final is quite a long walk away.
Would you please add either a GEOCHECK or a **CHECKSUM** to the cache?
A **CHECKSUM** is when you total up all the numbers and get a final figure.
E.g. suppose the correct numbers are A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, F=6, G=7, H=8, I=9, J=0.
The checksum is A+B+C+D+E+F+G+H+I+J = 45.
You tell people that the checksum for A+B+C+D+E+F+G+H+I+J = 45.
If someone makes a mistake collecting numbers, then they will get the wrong checksum and will know they have made a mistake. That means they can go around the waypoints again and make sure they have all the correct numbers, before they go to the final.
The "Additional Waypoints" numbering is different from the cache question numbering. This could be fixed pretty easily.
Do we have to go inside any of the commercial businesses to find answers? Or are all the answers visible from outside the shops?
Hoping you reply to this message soon!

So worth it for all of the waypoints. Thankfully we went on the hike and the cache was still there. Gets a Fav point. TFTC!
**For your Information:**
Stage/Question 6 ( Par(k) ) of this ccahe has got a problem.
The signs indicating what Par it is are not currently there.
The Queenstown council are working to improve this, so you can not answer question 6.
We had a sheet showing the pars, so we could answer the question, but users without that sheet can not.
Thank you for creating this cache - it was great fun!

Hi Shaymurray
I have emailed you and messaged you via the geocaching website with no response regarding an issue with your cache.
You have edited the final coordinates to this cache, which places it in a physically inaccessible area. I believe this may be by mistake, but this is something that you will need to confirm and fix, so in the mean time, I have disabled this cache listing.
Regards
The Coddiwompler

Walked around town, solved before meeting up with others. People watched, as they watched the lake levels rise. Very limited time in queenstown this weekend, will find next time in town, and when weather is better.
