Thanks for the nice bush find.

It was a beautiful evening inside. As we enjoyed a hot heater and warm drinks we decided to throw it all to the wind, head outside into the cold and find a couple of night caches around town. The coordinates soon saw the car parked and it was on for the feline hunt. As we dodged, weaved and found out way we soon collected the necessary information to go for GZ.Ahhh, there it is!TFTC

TFTC! 30 September 2023 11:48:00 pm 6000 FINDs! Thanks so much for a great night csche. This is the first night cache we have been able to finish with 2 previous DNFs. Enjoyed this cache and the night cache as intended. Picked a night cache to celebrate our 6000 as we love a good trek in the bush at night. The cache was full of water and the outside of the container was full of wet rust from the camo! Emptied the cache, signed.

I found Here Kitty today as part of our weekend in St Arnaud. We had planned this for International Geocaching Day but had to postpone. This weekend was a good as any.

Another wonderfully orchestrated night to cache . We had the bonus of seeing a possum as well as some black cats. Another favourite point for me.

Many thanks FUF009 for providing and maintaining this game piece for our enjoyment.

Here Kitty kitty Kitty Is what I remember my gran calling out of an evening as she banged the tin. Not sure these are the things we should be shouting out, in the dark in the bush in the cold wet of night.

St Arnaud is spoiled for night caches. [8)] They certainly get more than their fair share around here, so we made plans to make the most of it with three mini adventures in the one night. Big Grin
Catnap777 and I very much enjoyed the Bush Meander by Torchlight to start the evenings fun and now we were on a cat hunt keping eyes peeled for the famous big cat that roams these parts. Cool

Yep. There really is a big cat out here. Surprised
Well, at least with catnap777 at my side there was this night. Twisted

dalerious and I hightailed it up to St Arnaud for the weekend, and as usual we had a full consignment of caches on our wishlist to try and sign. The majority was leaning my way, as there was a whole bag of Challenge caches for me to scratch my name into, as well as some down right quality mixes that sets St Arnaud apart from the crowd. More night caches than you can poke a stick at, and did I mention the wherigo's Smile. We sure are spoilt for choice here, that's for sure Razz.

What a fantastic bunch of night caches. I know I am repeating myself, but this town has all the caches you could ever want.

This is the first Kitty that had something good come out of it's rear Cool
We did see a moggie later in the night, but alas it wasn't the elusive black puma Big Grin [:o)].
Thanks again FUF009.

St Arnaud is blessed with seven night caches. We had been working during the day and decided to see how many we could complete in the evening. So we jumped into the geomobile A’Tuin with the three geodogs and headed out for some adventure. The night was perfect for caching cool, clear and still. We have attempted a night cache before but had issues with some reflectors missing. No such problem with this cache, all the reflectors were fairly quickly spotted and we loved the thematic reflectors. We spotted the relevant coordinates and made our way to GZ. We found the cache in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache FUF009.

Heading away for a weekend of caching in St Arnauds with Ghihash, Locus Cache and the pups.
We managed to doge the rain over the weekend and stay dry and warm; and still get 50 caches and only have one minor miss hap where we miss judged how close a pole was to the car oops Smile
Ghihash knocked up 400caches and we managed to get a couple of the night caches done Smile

#4055 We couldn't resist another night cache as we start a long weekend of fun in St. A. After arriving at the starting coords we locked into a reflector. We then got confused and finally realised that we had jumped ahead of the intended course Surprised. But we weren't going to leave the forest before we trapped the Kitty. We walked around in circles for a while and got back on track.

Descending on gz, with Oscar the GeoKelpie with us there was no escaping for this Kitty. Nabbed successfully!!! TFTC FUF009, we had heaps of fun with this one too! Time for bed for us so we can start a local caching assault fresh in the morning.

05-Mar-20
In St Arnaud overnight as we head north west to the Murray - Sunset in the company of Papi4506 and Geoturtle37 we grabbed our accommodation in the best caravan park for miles and headed out to do the new adventure lab caches and the night caches we missed out on at the mega.
Our flashlights did all the work for us here with them flashing here and there looking for the shy kitty's but eventually the Kitty was boxed in and revealed the container we were hoping to score.
Thanks FUF009 for the wander in the bush, we can safely say that the rumours of the big black cat sightings are founded!
A favourite point added.

Now that the Mega was over, there was still more caching to be had so I joined up with fellow Canberra geobuddies kittykatch, Smittengranny and Joolay, AKA Capital Crunchers.

Onto the second night cache for the evening and we loved this one. Wandered around searching for the reflectors and the elusive lack cat! Well we found the black cats which led to the cache!

Thanks for this cool multi, FUF009 Cool Awarding a fave point! Well done!

chasing night caches with mogni and aussie m and m. A wander around the dark with torches and a quick find at the final.
Came over to the 2019 mega in St Arnaud with Mogni. We where joined by jj52, Aussie M and M plus others at different times over the mega weekend. Many caches where found over the course of the 8 day trip. Targeting multi's on the way there and back plus the challenge trail in Mount Beckworth reserve. The creative trails around St Arnaud where the highlight of the trip.

The St Arnaud Mega has been and gone with six days of non-stop caching and now the worst part is to log them all.
By the time I have completed this task I think I should have a clean sheet with all smileys until the next caches are published.
The dust out on the bush tracks is very fine like the bull dust that you get in Central Australia, the White Beast is not white anymore. The bush is tinder dry and most dams and waterholes are dry or very close to it and the farmers are working around the clock, I think because they are either in the middle of harvest or madly baling grass hay.
I would like to thank all the cache owners whose caches I have found in the last few days as this has to be a cut and paste operation to log so many.
The folk who run the Event are to be congratulated on a supreme job and from my point of view every thing ran like clock work but I guess some things did not go to plan but I have not heard of any major problems.
I had a forced extra day in St Arnaud waiting for a couple of tyres as I had the misfortune to wreck a tyre out in the bush on Sunday but I could think of worse places to be stranded.
I had a disagreement with a rock or something sharp but now I have two new tyres so should be good for some time.
We were in the wrong place when this guy was published but did get a bronze medal for being third to stamp the log.

Last day of the mega for us and we are out and about with Jascat grabbing a few more before we had to start the long journey home.
We all had a lot of fun working our way through this one, it seemed so bright, and the reflectors so good, that we didn't really need the torches, and after a short tour, we were at GZ signing our names in the log in the very creative container.
Cheers

In the area picking up a few wherigos and decided to give this one a go. A fun one to do in the daytime. Who doesn’t love finding a kitty in the wild. As a cat lover this one definitely deserves a favourite.

Another great night cache. Loved this one.

Has been a fabulous weekend at St Arnauds. While we were here for the Mega we had heard to bring our favourite points for the series around here. And the advice was not wrong. The variety and effort put into these trails has been fantastic and I wish there was a way to give out more favourite points. This afternoon it was this one with after picking up out out of the way ones with Smittengranny, Kittykatch and Specimen X. Luckily I have kept some points to give.
Thanks for the great trails, the effort and for getting us out and about.
Its been an awesome visit.
Apologies for the generic logs.

It was very fitting for us as Capital Crunchers to finish our assault on caches at St Arnaud with this cache. Kittykatch, Joolay and Specimen X were all part of this find with me as we followed the tags to the final kitty. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us to enjoy. Log signed as Capital Crunchers.

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the Mega event.

FeatherWaite, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday, taking a circuitous, but scenic route to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches in some other Victorian LGAs. We met up with Freddo and Davidwazza at the event that evening and teamed up to complete a couple more caches that night together before camping out of town.

Over the next three days we cached very solidly in and around St Arnaud, finding a diverse range of Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches as well as attending all the events associated with the Mega. We also managed to complete all the Lab caches over the weekend. Logbooks were signed D.E.F.F.98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo and gridge98).

On the Sunday afternoon, after the final GIFF event, FeatherWaite and I began making our way back to Adelaide, picking up a couple of caches before camping in the Little Desert NP. The following day we continued towards home with a side visit to Mount Rescue to pick up a few caches along the tracks there.

Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches. They included a huge variety of containers, hides and puzzles, many of which were very clever and/or amusing and had obviously taken considerable time and effort to construct. Thanks also to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. I’ll be looking forward to the Mega at Millicent in South Australia next Easter!

Bit scared about this big black cat. Lots of rumours around Bacchus of one too. Once at GZ I could see that he had transformed into a little kitty - the kind I like.
Thanks for the fun FUF009

Found as part of our trip to the St Arnaud Mega event. On Day 1, e.gregory1, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday morning, straight after the Earlybirds event in North Adelaide. We travelled a long and circuitous route via Bordertown, Nhil and Warracknabeal to find caches in 5 additional Victorian LGAs that I had yet to visit (namely Buloke, Loddon, [Greater Bendigo - I’d previously visited], Mt Alexander, Hepburn and Central Goldfields). On Days 2-4 we met up with Freddo and Davidwazza. As a group we systematically completed each of the many series around St Arnaud and found all other caches along the way, signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, Featherwaite and gridge98), as well as attending the events and completing the Lab caches. After the Mega, e.gregory1 and I headed back to Adelaide camping out in Little Desert NP overnight. On Day 5 we had intended picking up caches around Mundulla and Mount Monster but a last minute change of plans saw us head into Ngarkat CP instead, for a solid drive and a few extra rewarding cache finds. Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the huge variety of caches around St Arnaud and to all those who organised the Mega and the fantastic weekend away. Thanks for the cache FUF009!

Nice night cache.

Twelve months ago as we finished the Parkville Mega we were advised by someone that the next Victorian Mega event would be held in Saint Arnold. Somebody else told us that the Mega event would be held in Saint Arnood. And then another said that Saint Arned was the Mega event venue. Who should I believe? Struggling to understand the English language at the best of time. Freddo speaks two languages, Australian and Bad English.
Move forward a year. There is a cluster of events, including a MEGA event, at this town called St Arnaud burning a hole in my GPSr. The big white Pay Hero is loaded with GPSr, TOTT and camping gear and we headed east with a collaboration of like minded South Australian colleagues. DavidWazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, freddo and Gridge98 make team DEFF98.
Thursday: 5am event at a bakery in North Adelaide. The bed wetter team meets and says that this is way too early. Travel 500km east for the Thursday evening event. Freddo gets a prize. I am no mug. Camping in the bush under the stars.
Friday: Up early and headed out on the trails. And then back to our campground for a CITO! I am sure we did not make that much mess last night. More trails and 200 caches find for the day including a cluster of caches where freddo left DNA. More bush camping after a great meal in the Sporting Club.
Saturday: Up early for an event. Who puts an event on at 8am. Damn South Australians that’s who. After the event it was back on the trails and the Pay Hero is getting dustier and dustier. Found some awesome caches. Freddo the metallurgist was very impressed with the welding. Quality fabrication. And then another CITO. This time at the dump. Plenty of rubbish here. Some of it good stuff. Can I take some home? And finally a giant queue for a free meal. Nothing attracts a crowd like a free meal. The moment of the evening was receiving a Hall of Fame nomination. That prize is going straight to the pool room.
Sunday: Another night camping in the bush. Some fabulous night caches walks were undertaken. Night caching is a special form of entertainment. We spent the day cruising around picking up the left over unfound caches and meeting heaps of new friends. Boycotted the GIFF event since it did not show the freddo film “Cache Confusion” https://vimeo.com/372568752. One minute and forty four seconds of your life you won’t get back. A quick speech and it was back on the road for home. Well Horsham. More camping. This time by a river.
Monday: Caches around Horsham and following the Duke’s Highway back to Adelaide. Time for a shower for this smelly geocacher. An exhausted chocolate frog slept well.

We came, we cached, we ate, we slept; repeat for five days of fun and dust.

Easter 2020 sees South Australia hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Check it out. We would love to see you there.

Well the weekend is nearly over and the hoards of cachers have been turning up all week and the fantastic Mega weekend has involved , events, lots of caches, lab caches, signal the frog, more events and catching up with friends and making some new ones.
After helping out at the Mega site in the morning I then went out and found the new series that had been put out since I was last here then attended the GIFF, closing ceremony, found a few more caches around town before tea.
So after tea I made a plan to find a few night caches before heading back to camp for a rest.
Other cachers had the same idea as well I think.
Met up with Everlasting, Crank1 and pwala and after finding some ghosts we decided to find a few black cats in the bush together as well, as the saying goes safety in numbers.
Our torch beams showed us the way and we soon came across a couple of small kitty’s that weren’t that scary at all but they helped us in our search.

Thanks FUF009 TFTC.

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the 2019 Victorian Mega event. The weekend was spent primarily with e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98 as we geocached around the vicinity of St Arnaud. All of the events and CITOs were attended, we completed the available adventure labs and lab caches available at the showgrounds, many of the creative trails were gasped at their construction, and interesting puzzles were solved and collected during the weekend.

We all left on Thursday in two separate cars, and met up at the evening event, before finding a camp spot for the night in a very CITO location. On Friday, we targeted the StARS (St Arnaud Ramble Series) and the higher quality, well-constructed geocaches that were famous here in St Arnaud, and got lucky with the 2019 published series that we managed to snag FTFs on. Sunday had us continuing to find the other sets of high-quality caches around the neighbouring town parks, the challenge series, before spending a few hours at geocaching HQ participating in the labs that had been published. The event was also great to see some of the South Australians honoured with geocaching life awards (in amongst everyone on the list). Our final day, Sunday, had us do a big loop finishing off our geocache collection, driving all the way out to Kooreh and around via Stuart Mill, walking the conservation park at Mount Gowar, and finishing off at the GIFF event. A massive weekend that turned out to be a great mega! Thanks to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. The variety between the local high-quality caches, the new series placed by the mega team, and those who needed to be around for the labs and main centre fielding questions was appreciated immensely.

Today with our final day in St Arnaud, we went east and south focusing on some of the *Original Road* series, and the various geocaches that were placed along these routes. This cache was one of these found as we headed towards Stuart Mill. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks FUF009 for placing and maintaining this cache. The logbook was signed as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98).

Bettyboo3747, Lady Morris and I started the day with a few caches we had not found in previous years, then on to the new series down south on the Link Track. A few more caches on the way back to lunch in St Arnaud, and then back to the event.
We attended the GIFF and Closing Event, then went caching again. A quick dinner, then a couple of new night caches to round the day off.

Completely missed the first big cat and by the time we reached the second, we had to retrace our steps.
Probably should have read the instructions first!
A nice stroll in the bush after sunset though.
Thanks, Robmc.

#16738. Sunday at the Mega. Robmc, Lady Morris and I headed out to do the new series published on Friday after we arrived. We gathered a few others on the way around and finished with a healthy appetite for lunch. A wonderful series that we admired greatly. More caching later in the afternoon and a quick run after dinner, finishing off with the two new night caches. A good second day at the Mega.

Rob and I were caching after dinner but still arrived at this one a tad early - at dusk time. We grabbed our torches and decided to try it anyhow. We managed to make our way around to the final set of coordinates and then we were stuck. Had to retrace our steps to find the first set of coordinates. Did enjoy finding several kitties though and GZ was certainly cute. Also Simon thanks for the pathtag to go with this cache.

Always a pleasure to cache in and around St Arnaud.

Thanks FUF009

This morning woke up and set off to find some more caches and clean up the last few in the town, stopped by this cache for a nice walk following the night markers, cache was found all in good order

What a big trip this was! I headed over to St Arnaud for the 2019 Victorian mega with e.gregory1, Davidwazza, Featherwaite and Freddo for the long weekend.
The weekend was filled with a lot of finds ranging in puzzles, a few events and some very well constructed hides around the area.

Day 1: I headed over with e.gregory1 and featherwaite, with the aim to collect some unfound LGAs for the guys, with only a 500km drive to the mega from home we added an extra 450km to the trip by going over to Bendigo and further south exploring some regional towns, overall we added an extra 6 LGAs with only 18 finds for the day. Was great to see some of the interesting little towns and what they had to offer for future visits.

Day 2: As a group we hit the trails in St Arnaud as a group signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, featherwaite and gridge98) to save a lot of room in the logbook. We started off with the geoart Stars and thought it would take most of the day, as we finished it in 2.5 hours we were a bit surprised so hit the well constructed caches in the south of the town in the bush throwing a CITO in the mix. All the caches were amazing and something you don’t see anywhere else. Adding in 15 FTFs along the way with: everlasting, crank1 and Pwola. The evening settled in and we headed into town for a buffet dinner and a catch up with some familiar faces.

Day 3:
After attending the GV2020 event for the morning we set off to hit the last of the trails left in town of the metal containers, followed by the challenges for the mega as well as quite a few trads around the back roads. We ended the day by having a go at the lab caches at the mega then off to the CITO. I don't think I have ever seen so mant people at a tip before. Topped off the day with an evening event.

Day 4: By today the town was almost cleaned out and only a few caches to find, so we did the last few caches within a rough 15km radius driving around finding the odd cache here and there. The GIFF was finished off the mega so we decided to head to Horsham for the evening.

Day 5: After leaving our camp site for the morning, we cached for the morning around Horsham collecting a few grads and a well earned swim. Then made the long drive back home to Adelaide.

Thanks to all the COs for their cache placements and the Geocaching Victoria crew for organising a fantastic weekend away.

This weekend was the St. Arnaud Mega event and I was looking forward to hitting the road for a few days doing some flat out caching, visiting many new and amazing places and catching up with lots of caching friends. The event was a great success and heaps of fun. The caches provided by the local cachers were, in many cases, absolutely mind blowing (FUF009 caches most notably). All in all it was a great weekend, very warm weather and lots of caches found.
Cache found and log signed. TFTC.

After attending the Saturday night event we got together with bektheraccoon and jambochicken to go and attempt to find a few cats in the surrounding bushland who we hoped would help us find the treasure we were searching for. We did find a couple who where kind enough to share some co-ordinates with us to point us in the right direction. After a short walk we found what we were searching for. SL TFTC

Find #4028
Multi Find #357**

St Arnaud MEGA Day 1. An early, but not too early start for the first day of this Mega. More excellent caches around St Arnaud to be found and this was one of them. SteMicMitSar and I joined forces and we set off together to tackle those caches which we didn't have time to find over the Grand Final long weekend.
After a good meal, we headed out into the night to find the two night caches that had been published during this Mega. No problems in finding the waypoints and then a short walk to GZ.

**Thank-you to FUF009 for placing this geocache**

Day two of the St. Arnard Mega event had us looking for this cache.
After a great dinner event, we decided to head out and have a look at this one seeing that we didn't do it the night before, turns out everyone else had the same idea.
We had driven passed the one that had just been published thinking that there might be less people at this one but we were wrong.

I tawt I taw a puddy tat Wink Thanks for the cache, I especially enjoyed the final cache container Smile

After the evening dinner event we ended up talking to another Tassie team the Tassie Trekkers and we came upon the idea to do a couple of night caches.

Well six nightcaches later at gone one in the morning we headed back to our hotel/caravan to get some sleep at long last!

Each of the night caches was excellent with everyone being a joy to do, we werent the only mad cachers out at this time of night as we spotetd a number of other teams, some we got to talk to other we just noticed their torches.

Thanks for a great night out as it were.

This was the Mega trip that started out as a simple trip to St Arnaud for just the Mega and turned into a mega road trip starting with myself and GooseandEgg flying into Adelaide to collect a rental 4WD so we could drive an indirect route to St Arnaud and then on to Melbourne so we could fly home again.

The Goose had put a lot of planning into the trip so we could both complete or get close to completing our D/T grids, collect a number of good interesting caches and cache types we didn't have many off.

For me this was the best organised Mega I have been to, the stand out was how the committee had managed to get the whole St Arnaud community to welcome us all to the area, just about everyone we meet knew what we were there for and I had no awkward moments explaining what Geocaching was.

We met TT016, Hevwalker and LiB at the starting point purely by chance and covered the course together.
The little ones were especially impressed by the final.
Thanks FUF009 for a well laid out night cache

Today was a big day for Michells&hound and me as we had an early start with the GeoVenture 2020 Event in town, then tackled the StARS series along with a few others that we passed, and the remaining caches of the BW series that we didn't get to yesterday. Then it was a CITO in the Hard Hills, some more caches, the Dinner Event back at the Showgrounds finishing with a couple of night caches. [^] All in all another fun day with some good numbers and quality caches found. Big Grin

We had finished at the event and met up with Aussie M & M, mogni and sir_spectre to go and get a few more before calling it a day (or night)Surprised

We had fun with Kitty wandering around in the bush following the markers and gathering info for the final and after a bit more wandering we found the cache. A favourite for me. Cool

Out at night with the Suscoe duo we had a great time in pursuit of the elusive black cat. In Geelong most people follow blue & white cats. A FP dropped in for fun.

Thanks 'FUF009 (F=8360 H=111)' for adding this cache to the gameboard.

After a pub dinner and attending the Saturday night event we headed out to start and finish the whole O&A series and all the night caches.

With a quick break to attempt a FTF on the new ghostly night cache we realized this one was close by and we could complete it too while in the area.
While walking the Great Ocean Road 100km walk a few years back my mate swears he saw a very large black cat in the Otways. But he has no proof - he must have been dreamin'!
However, tonight I tracked one and unlike, my mate, I have photographic evidence to prove it!
Thanks for the fun FUF009.

This cache was found during the 2019 St Arnaud Event getaway.
Highlights of the Mega were attending all the weekend's social events, finding all 50 challenge caches in under 1 hour, finding all 40 lab caches, all 6 wherigos, and doing all 7 night caches in one night. No DNFs. Finding 11 cache types in 1 day. And of course making a start on the impressively creative constructions that FUF and TnC have made St Arnaud renowned for over the years.

Found with hevwalker, scramping, TT016 and PrincessAria1 after attending The St Arnaud Saturday Night Event. It was almost time for the littlest ones to go to bed but not before a night cache or two ?????
An awesome sight looking back at a trail of torchlights ??

This was one hell of a unique experience, torch lights going everywhere!

Joined up with Phetlern and Suscoe here for the hunt for the kitty.

This was the start of a very very busy night cache, and the traffic slowed at the caches as it got later. Another really well constructed multi. No stupid maths or counting, just straightforward and good quality. Cheers!

After the dinner event, I headed out with n0w0rries, nirgalagrin and Team GBS to hit some Night Caches and whatever else caught our eyes. Lots of fun, so many people out and about tonight due to the mild weather pattern we were in.

Many thanks to FUF009 for the cache. TNLN.

Our last cache for the night, we had followed one of the others cachers we had teamed up with, and arrived to find about 10 other cars already there. Well it was an interesting walk, that's for sure. We kept catching up to other groups, and by the time we found the final cache, we were a rather large group which took the fun out of it a bit.

16-Nov-19
This was our second night-cache tonight while out with caching with N0w0rries, ahomburg and nirgalagran. We very much enjoyed the trail and at the end another beautifully crafted cache awaited us. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and a favourite point awarded. Greetings from Zimbabwe ??????

This was one of the nightcaches I didn't have loaded on my GPS from memory, something was screwy with my St Arnaud pocket query (and I never did figure out why random caches didn't appear...) Nevertheless, the others in our party (loch, landau351 and ozibags) had the details between them and we headed of on our night-time safari and successfully capture Kitty. I loved this one so there was never a doubt about it getting a favourite point from me Smile

Day 2 St Arnaud Mega
Today was another jam packed day at the Mega. After a good night's sleep it was an early start so we could go to the GeoVenture event. So quick brekkie and off we went, fueled with more coffee from Dabbling Duck (who seemed to be doing a brisk trade with all the geocachers just over the road). Also got a sandwich for lunch.
Enjoyed seeing the promo work for GeoVenture2020, just a shame I won't be able to attend the actual mega, but an Easter trip to the UK has got in the way of that.
It was then off to the Mega site to register and log a few of the trackables. A very slick operation indeed.
Then time to tackle the Stars having solved all the puzzles in advance of the trip over. It was great that the caches were spread over different roads as it meant cachers took different routes and thankfully we didn't get caught up in too much mega traffic! It was good to meet other cachers along the way. Some of the hides proved to be a bit trickier than others and we did place a throw down at No88 as with 4 teams there we could not put our hands on it.
After the Stars we finished off the BW series that we had started yesterday, some more fabulous hides there. Plus a few other caches thrown in too. It was then over to Hard Hills to do a little rubbish collection, what a lot of rubbish there was too! Also collected photos of many car trackables which was fun.
The evening saw roast beef rolls back at the Mega site, another excellent catering job by the team. After that a couple of night multis (first I have done) which were fun, hopefully one day will get to come back to St Arnaud and do the others.
Super day all round, lots of caches found. This Mega rocks.
A gang was formed to head out and do a couple of night caches, JJ52, Aussie M&M, mogni and SirSpectre. Many hands make light work. Really enjoyed my first 'proper' night caches and hope to find a few more.

I'm travelling for the next 4 months and I'm going to visit in Singapore, Australia, New-Zealand, Japan and England. My plan is to see as much as possible for each places and also get new experiences. I try to do some caching on the way too, so greetings from Finland!

What a great night cache indeed. I did this within a big group so it was even funnier. Also the sky with full of stars was just breathtaking! TFTC!

Suscoe headed out this way in the great company of Phetlern.
It was a nice wander in the dark and we were pleased to find what we needed step by step.

Many years ago we took part in a "Kitty" search in the Grampians, but we didn't find one there.

We did get to GZ and sign the log.

So many lights in the bush.

Thanks to FUF009 for this adventure.

The St. Arnaud Event 2019... Day 1:

One of the great things about attending a Mega is teaming up with other cachers for a cache, a morning, afternoon, or in this case, the evening, when I was invited along with ahomburg, n0w0rries and a fun couple from Zimbabwe, to do some night caching.

Second really cool night cache tonight. Again, we found a gap among the throng for a great experience.

Thanks, FUF009

I love coming to this area but it was for the St Arnuad Mega and grabbing some caches with Happy pants, omegaman1971, The Empire, Snap Happy and Di Morgan. Signed most caches as the MOB. Found some great hides and creative containers. There were many deserving of favs but I only have so many to give out. We had many and laugh while making these finds along the trails.

Thanks FUF009 for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play

Cache and contents were in good condition and adding to our favourites.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Today was a mixture of lots of different types of caches - events, CITO, trads, mutis, mysteries, letterbox, whereigos, lab caches, etc, plus volunteer duty at the Mega. A day of variety. Journeyed mostly with McLookers and Alansee, plus Lochb and Quiet1_AU for some of the lab caches. We managed to do this one before the sun went down, but the overcast skies and strong torches certainly helped.

My thanks to FUF009 for and enjoyable cache.

Day 1 of the St Arnaud MEGA. A cold but fine night was followed by a mostly sunny day. After registration, Steve and I headed out to target specific caches before the CITO started. As with all the caches I've found in this area, all were of high quality with good co-ords.

Thank-you to FUF009 for placing this geocache

When this night cache was published last night it went onto our list for tonight. When we arrived, we were the only car. By the time we had found the cache, there were at least 10 cars parked in the immediate area. The reflectors were well placed and we were able to find our way around, collected the required in formation on the way. Then, after a short walk, accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks FUF009 for the cache.

Found staying in St Arnaud for a week to attend the Mega Event, had a great time finding some quality caches around the area, this was one of them. I teamed up with My good Mate Rosstaman and Green Gecko from Brisbane. Having been to St Arnaud three times we were glad of the new publications today, that gave us something to do before heading out far and wide in all different directions to find caches. nice night cache, Fav from Me.

Thanks FUF009 for the cache.

After dinner at the club I headed out with Tassie Trekkers and stainless steel rat for a night cache or two, or so I thought! Six night caches later and well past the witching hour we called it quits and headed off to bed, dropping Tassie trekkers back at their caravan on the way.
Thanks FUF009 for this another great night cache. I'm not a big cat fan but I did enjoy this.

When planning the St Arnaud mega trip I was keen to incorporate some missing D/T’s from my grid. Stainless steel rat suggested flying to Adelaide ‘on the way’ and driving across so a route was planned and a fun week of caching began. I cherry picked in my planning so as not to run out of time for the ones I wanted, and we added a few on the day if there was time. We met up with various teams along the way including a planned rendezvous with Tassie Trekkers in Kaniva for a fun days caching. I ended up with around five hundred finds (including labs) for the week, and still had plenty of time for socializing along the way. It was great to catch up with some old friends and of course make new ones.
Special thanks to the St Arnaud mega committee for a great weekend.

Reperio at 2135 with pprass and Maccamob.

Day 3 of my road trip from Newcastle to St Arnaud for the upcoming mega event, and after arriving at the event site today, I headed out to find a few local caches.

We had heard a new night cache was going to be published tonight, so once it went live, we headed out to the starting coords to find a horde of torch lights dancing around in the dark. A nice simple trail to follow, although I wonder how much bad luck we have accumulated by crossing paths with a black cat. We plotted our final coords, and found another great cache to sign our names into. Great fun.

Gratias FUF009.

Caching buddies: RideTheGeoWalrus & yin~yang and a whole bunch of people!

Just when we thought we would be FTF, we dashed to gz to spot a whole bunch of cars and more! We did a mistake and missed the first kitty. So we backtracked and finally reached gz, where the logbook had 15 signatures already.

Thank you FUF009, for creating, placing and maintaining this cache. I have enjoyed finding it and visiting this spot.
