Strange creatures lurking around the bush surrounding St Arnaud in the dead of the night.....Sounds like the start of a horror movie. Actually, it was just Strange Quark1 and his family on the hunt for yet another night cache. Really, it was just me that was strange.....the others are just...odd (I am going to get smacked for that). We were sitting at home in the comfort of the heater, a nice warm drink and the TV on quiet when we decided, "Blow it, let's get cold". Out we went on the hunt for a couple of night caches. We hadn't done one of these for quite a while, if fact so long ago that Luna couldn't remember the last one she did.We headed out and had the car parked up at the coordinates and the hunt was on. Some of the lesser seen St Arnaud residents assisted us on our hunt, guiding us towards GZ.Yay, soon it was found. We signed the log then hightailed it out of there before we were too spooked.TFTC
Find # 9116 . We noticed this night cache during our daytime adventures and decided to come back after dinner and find this cache
It didn't disappoint!

Well i got there in the end but i had a bit of trouble with this one. Im not sure if a waypoint was missing or im too tyred I didnt find waypoint 5 if there is such a thing but did manage to stumble across the gz from the wrong direction. After i signed the log i tried to backtrack from there in the direction it faced but i couldnt find anything and after trying for a while i gave up and retired for the night. Thanks for all the fun and challenge, i have loved your caches again today, or yesterday really.

I found A ghostly night cache today as part of our weekend in St Arnaud. We had planned this for International Geocaching Day but had to postpone. This weekend was a good as any.
Very excited as this is my first successful night to cache.
Many thanks Tyred n Cranky for providing and maintaining this game piece for our enjoyment.

I know it’s not halloween but we decided it was time to hunt ghosts, well we were in St Arnaud and we had a phone and it was a strange night - as it was raining. We’ve never seen that here… must be something amiss
If there's something strange. In your neighbourhood. If there's something weird And it don't look good
GHOST, GHOST then I started to see double GHOST GHOST.
Thank goodness no getting slimed occurred tonight as we are running out of spare clothes. But we kept telling ourselves…. I ain't 'fraid of no ghost
I ain't 'fraid of no ghost
Geo babe remembers something: Ooh, I hear it likes the girls…,Hm, I ain't 'fraid of no ghost. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
The ghostly figures became a more Casper like the more we used our mantra.
I ain't 'fraid of no ghost
I ain't 'fraid of no ghost
Lemme tell ya something
Bustin' makes me feel good!
And so does doing caches like this!
Wet
Dark
Cold
But oh so worth it!
Thanks for the fun tonight.
I ain't 'fraid of no ghost
Log slimed, oops I meant signed

St Arnaud is spoiled for night caches.
They certainly have more than their fair share around here, so catnap777 and I made plans to make the most of it with three mini adventures in the one night.
We left this one for last. [8)] Closest to the witching hour, we delighted in this final folly in the frightful forest on this moonlit night perfect for us boos and ghouls to sweep the surrounds summoning the spooks and spectors within.
With this last cache snatched from the clutches of its deathly guardians, log signed and cache laid back down to rest, it was time for us to put our heads down as well and sleep like the dead.

dalerious and I hightailed it up to St Arnaud for the weekend, and as usual we had a full consignment of caches on our wishlist to try and sign. The majority was leaning my way, as there was a whole bag of Challenge caches for me to scratch my name into, as well as some down right quality mixes that sets St Arnaud apart from the crowd. More night caches than you can poke a stick at, and did I mention the wherigo's . We sure are spoilt for choice here, that's for sure .
What a fantastic bunch of night caches. I know I am repeating myself, but this town has all the caches you could ever want.
Loved this one so much . I wish my honey and I had a few more nights in town to do the other night caches. We would of had a ball.
Thanks again Tyred n Cranky, you never fail to put out an awesome cache.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.
Multis are usually not my thing, so it wasn't surprising to me to find a lot in my found database that hadn't been logged.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!
Thanks Tyred n Cranky (F=3637 H=165) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

Got a call from Micaparamedic to say he was going to cache in out St Arnaud way today, so Chook decided she would head up to join him. After a fun day caching, including a catchup at lunch time with FUF009 and Tyred n Cranky, we thought we would try our hands at this cache. Well, it wasn't quite dark when we did this but we were able to find our way through the bush, busting the ghosts and finding the numbers we required for the beautifully themed final hide. TFTC Tyred n Cranky and a favourite point awarded for yet another excellent and fun night cache.
St Arnaud is blessed with seven night caches. We had been working during the day and decided to see how many we could complete in the evening. So we jumped into the geomobile A’Tuin with the three geodogs and headed out for some adventure. The night was perfect for caching cool, clear and still. We have attempted a night cache before but had issues with some reflectors missing. No such problem with this cache, all the reflectors were fairly quickly spotted and we loved the thematic reflectors. We spotted the relevant coordinates and made our way to GZ. We found the cache in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache Tyred n Cranky
Maintenance done.
All markers for this night cache are still in place and easily spotted.

Arfter a creepy bush walk last night with not great torches to guide us and wandering the wrong direction multiple times we finaly got to GZ to realise we forgot a pen!!
Came back this morning with an easy trail to follow and realizing how lost we got we happily singend the log and claimed our smiley.
Thanks for this fun night cache.

So we wondered through the bush on Monday night and finally found Casper and all his friends but as we opened the cache Ghihash asked for the pen and we both realised what we had forgotten; so we came back on Tuesday during the daylight hours and wanting to know how far we actually walked did it all over again. my first night cache and had a blast
Awesome night out doing a few night caches with whatever1010 thanks for an awesome cache
Last year we went to the Mega and didn't know much about caching...we are back now with a bit more experience and glad we made another trip as this trail was lots of fun. Happy I wasn't too spooked by the ghostly residents and made a nice find. Thanks for a favourite night adventures Thanks @Tyred n Cranky for the trail.
As amateurs at last years mega we missed a number of the night caches. Hi n this return visit we made sure not to miss the opportunity and we clearly saved the best to last. A spooky adventure which lead to a fun trail and a logged cache!!! Thanks for all the effort to put this multi together. Thanks so much!
# A big couple of nights chasing reflectors in the dark. Aliens, Big Cats, Bikes with scary cog teeth and now seeking out Ger-Ger-Ger-Ghosts!! . Under full moon conditions, the spooky level was raised a notch but we held our nerve and went about catching these ghosts. Again super cool creations to add to our entertainment along the way, before being greeted by a superb final. We took a great photo with Oscar the geohound at the final. Now late in the night it is back to camp and straight to bed. Lets hope no nightmares tonight in our dreams!!! TFTC and fun Tyred n Cranky.
After setting up camp (after hours) with huge thanks to Tony, we set off to do the new lab cache and a couple of night caches with The Tritonz. We had chased black cats when here for the Mega but the ghosts had eluded us. Pleased to be able to chase them down and sign the log. Thanks for another great cache.
After chasing black cats in the dark, this was the next one on our list. Had to laugh when we saw the ghosts floating around in the bush. Thanks for another great cache.
In St Arnaud overnight as we head north west to the Murray - Sunset in the company of Papi4506 and Geoturtle37 we grabbed our accommodation in the best caravan park for miles and headed out to do the new adventure lab caches and the night caches we missed out on at the mega.
After chasing the elusive black cat and proving that it does exist we moved on to chase ghosts in the bush with a favourable outcome.
Thanks Tyred n Cranky for the spooky night cache.

Now that the Mega was over, there was still more caching to be had so I joined up with fellow Canberra geobuddies kittykatch, Smittengranny and Joolay, AKA Capital Crunchers.
This one was the first of two night caches for us this evening. We arrived at before dusk and we could see what we were looking for without much torchlight at all. It was fun wandering around discovering all of the ghosts and it was an easy find of the cache at the end!
Thanks for this cool multi, Tyred n Cranky - Awarding a fave point! Well done!

chasing night caches with mogni and aussie m and m. A wander around the dark with torches and a quick find at the final.
Came over to the 2019 mega in St Arnaud with Mogni. We where joined by jj52, Aussie M and M plus others at different times over the mega weekend. Many caches where found over the course of the 8 day trip. Targeting multi's on the way there and back plus the challenge trail in Mount Beckworth reserve. The creative trails around St Arnaud where the highlight of the trip.

The St Arnaud Mega has been and gone with six days of non-stop caching and now the worst part is to log them all.
By the time I have completed this task I think I should have a clean sheet with all smileys until the next caches are published.
The dust out on the bush tracks is very fine like the bull dust that you get in Central Australia, the White Beast is not white anymore. The bush is tinder dry and most dams and waterholes are dry or very close to it and the farmers are working around the clock, I think because they are either in the middle of harvest or madly baling grass hay.
I would like to thank all the cache owners whose caches I have found in the last few days as this has to be a cut and paste operation to log so many.
The folk who run the Event are to be congratulated on a supreme job and from my point of view every thing ran like clock work but I guess some things did not go to plan but I have not heard of any major problems.
I had a forced extra day in St Arnaud waiting for a couple of tyres as I had the misfortune to wreck a tyre out in the bush on Sunday but I could think of worse places to be stranded.
I had a disagreement with a rock or something sharp but now I have two new tyres so should be good for some time.
We were in the wrong place again when this guy was published as we were seven km away from the start so we did not arrive here until 10.30pm or later but were surprised that there were still folk wandering around the bush.
Thanks Tyred n Cranky for placing this guy.

What a great night cache. Not the darkest to start but still successful. Loved it.
Has been a fabulous weekend at St Arnauds. While we were here for the Mega we had heard to bring our favourite points for the series around here. And the advice was not wrong. The variety and effort put into these trails has been fantastic and I wish there was a way to give out more favourite points. This afternoon it was this one with after picking up out out of the way ones with Smittengranny, Kittykatch and Specimen X. Luckily I have kept some points to give.
Thanks for the great trails, the effort and for getting us out and about.
Its been an awesome visit.
Apologies for the generic logs.

On our last evening in St Arnaud, Capital Crunchers set out to finish off the night caches in the area. Loved this one too. It was a good quick find at the final GZ, and with the log being signed we, Joolay, Specimen X, Kittykatch and Smittengranny set out see if we could find Kitty.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us to enjoy Tyred and Cranky. It was great to have had a meet up in the park.

Out with Roosta and Rebel today. Madly grabbing caches before I have to head home. Long drive back to Brissie. Weather is great and we are having a heap of fun. Thank you so much
Found as part of our trip to the St Arnaud Mega event. On Day 1, e.gregory1, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday morning, straight after the Earlybirds event in North Adelaide. We travelled a long and circuitous route via Bordertown, Nhil and Warracknabeal to find caches in 5 additional Victorian LGAs that I had yet to visit (namely Buloke, Loddon, [Greater Bendigo - I’d previously visited], Mt Alexander, Hepburn and Central Goldfields). On Days 2-4 we met up with Freddo and Davidwazza. As a group we systematically completed each of the many series around St Arnaud and found all other caches along the way, signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, Featherwaite and gridge98), as well as attending the events and completing the Lab caches. After the Mega, e.gregory1 and I headed back to Adelaide camping out in Little Desert NP overnight. On Day 5 we had intended picking up caches around Mundulla and Mount Monster but a last minute change of plans saw us head into Ngarkat CP instead, for a solid drive and a few extra rewarding cache finds. Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the huge variety of caches around St Arnaud and to all those who organised the Mega and the fantastic weekend away. Thanks for the cache Tyred n Cranky!
we just couldnt leave one night cache unfound after doing the other 6 in one night now could we
So it was back out tonight with Tassie Trekkers to grab this one and yet again we had a great time.
Thanks for the cache.
Our last day in St Arnuad as we head out in the morning to melb to fly back to Tassie, so it was grab a few of the local caches we had overlooked and a couple of series's we had heard good things about.
This was the Mega trip that started out as a simple trip to St Arnaud for just the Mega and turned into a mega road trip starting with myself and GooseandEgg flying into Adelaide to collect a rental 4WD so we could drive an indirect route to St Arnaud and then on to Melbourne so we could fly home again.
The Goose had put a lot of planning into the trip so we could both complete or get close to completing our D/T grids, collect a number of good interesting caches and cache types we didn't have many off.
For me this was the best organised Mega I have been to, the stand out was how the committee had managed to get the whole St Arnaud community to welcome us all to the area, just about everyone we meet knew what we were there for and I had no awkward moments explaining what Geocaching was.

Well the weekend is nearly over and the hoards of cachers have been turning up all week and the fantastic Mega weekend has involved , events, lots of caches, lab caches, signal the frog, more events and catching up with friends and making some new ones.
After helping out at the Mega site in the morning I then went out and found the new series that had been put out since I was last here then attended the GIFF, closing ceremony, found a few more caches around town before tea.
So after tea I made a plan to find a few night caches before heading back to camp for a rest.
Other cachers had the same idea as well I think.
I followed a car in from the main road to the starting coords and I met up with Everlasting, Crank1 and pwala so we did this one together.
Luckily I had some company as some ghostly figures appeared in our torch beams that lead us along the path.
Thanks Tyred n Cranky TFTC.

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the 2019 Victorian Mega event. The weekend was spent primarily with e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98 as we geocached around the vicinity of St Arnaud. All of the events and CITOs were attended, we completed the available adventure labs and lab caches available at the showgrounds, many of the creative trails were gasped at their construction, and interesting puzzles were solved and collected during the weekend.
We all left on Thursday in two separate cars, and met up at the evening event, before finding a camp spot for the night in a very CITO location. On Friday, we targeted the StARS (St Arnaud Ramble Series) and the higher quality, well-constructed geocaches that were famous here in St Arnaud, and got lucky with the 2019 published series that we managed to snag FTFs on. Sunday had us continuing to find the other sets of high-quality caches around the neighbouring town parks, the challenge series, before spending a few hours at geocaching HQ participating in the labs that had been published. The event was also great to see some of the South Australians honoured with geocaching life awards (in amongst everyone on the list). Our final day, Sunday, had us do a big loop finishing off our geocache collection, driving all the way out to Kooreh and around via Stuart Mill, walking the conservation park at Mount Gowar, and finishing off at the GIFF event. A massive weekend that turned out to be a great mega! Thanks to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. The variety between the local high-quality caches, the new series placed by the mega team, and those who needed to be around for the labs and main centre fielding questions was appreciated immensely.
Today with our final day in St Arnaud, we went east and south focusing on some of the *Original Road* series, and the various geocaches that were placed along these routes. Once we did a loop through Stuart Mill, we did a final drive around the town vicinity finding caches, including this one. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. The logbook was signed as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98).

After a wonderful dinner and lots of chatter we tackles this one last cache. We arrived at the staring point to see a couple of teams just finished but joined up with others to do the walk.
A good fun night cache.
Much appreciated Tyred n Cranky
When planning the St Arnaud mega trip I was keen to incorporate some missing D/T’s from my grid. Stainless steel rat suggested flying to Adelaide ‘on the way’ and driving across so a route was planned and a fun week of caching began. I cherry picked in my planning so as not to run out of time for the ones I wanted, and we added a few on the day if there was time. We met up with various teams along the way including a planned rendezvous with Tassie Trekkers in Kaniva for a fun days caching. I ended up with around five hundred finds (including labs) for the week, and still had plenty of time for socializing along the way. It was great to catch up with some old friends and of course make new ones.
Special thanks to the St Arnaud mega committee for a great weekend.
A good fun night cache.
Much appreciated Tyred n Cranky

Out caching again with gabs1963, we decided to hit some caches neither of us had found. We had a great day making finds! Thanks for placing the cache Tyred n Cranky, the town is awesome because of you. A favourite from me!
9366 Located by baby&Mrs gopher on a nighttime sojourn with Hand and Linda at 2030. Wandered off into the bush all lights ablaze. Saw a ghost or 2 as we went. After finding some reminders the container was located and log signed Tnx Tyred n Cranky
Stayed at St Arnaud for Mega week ??and enjoyed with possum at night fav from me Found your cache today??. Tyred n Cranky, thanks for placing it.??
Bettyboo3747, Lady Morris and I started the day with a few caches we had not found in previous years, then on to the new series down south on the Link Track. A few more caches on the way back to lunch in St Arnaud, and then back to the event.
We attended the GIFF and Closing Event, then went caching again. A quick dinner, then a couple of new night caches to round the day off.
Our last cache for the day (night).
Very nice ghosts, but we didn't need to call anyone.
Thanks, Robmc.

#16739. Sunday at the Mega. Robmc, Lady Morris and I headed out to do the new series published on Friday after we arrived. We gathered a few others on the way around and finished with a healthy appetite for lunch. A wonderful series that we admired greatly. More caching later in the afternoon and a quick run after dinner, finishing off with the two new night caches. A good second day at the Mega.
Our last cache of the day (night). Nice and quiet prior to 9.00pm. We could see torches making their way back to the cars already there. We waited for them as we didn't want to blind them as we made our way in. Off we went and found a couple of ghostly apparitions and then we made a mistake (our torches must have been a bit too keen). We arrived at GZ (didn't know that at the time of course) but after looking at things for a while I realised we might be at GZ and soon had the container to hand and the log book signed. Favourite point.
Always a pleasure to cache in and around St Arnaud.
Thanks Tyred n Cranky

TFTC. After the close of the Mega and dinner at the Sports Club we arranged to go out with baby & Mrs Gopher to attempt the two new night caches . This wa the first as we spotted the ghostly figures with little trouble and made our way around to more ghostly apparitions at GZ. Quickly had cache in hand and completed signing duties. We then made our way back to the vehicle where we caught up with three more teams not afraid of the ghost in the forests. Thanks for the adventure.

Sunday at the St Arnaud Mega Event! Logged as a part of 'The Mob!' or 'Team Happies!' Today was a mixed bag of different types of caches and a bit of driving in the bush away from the mega site until the GIFF event this evening. Yeah, errr, we did this during the day, we had been cached out yesterday and wanted to grab this one before we left for home this afternoon. Esily found in the daylight. Thanks for the cache!

A new night cache, we stopped by and followed the reflectors today the week easily seen in day light. Cache was all good
What a big trip this was! I headed over to St Arnaud for the 2019 Victorian mega with e.gregory1, Davidwazza, Featherwaite and Freddo for the long weekend.
The weekend was filled with a lot of finds ranging in puzzles, a few events and some very well constructed hides around the area.
Day 1: I headed over with e.gregory1 and featherwaite, with the aim to collect some unfound LGAs for the guys, with only a 500km drive to the mega from home we added an extra 450km to the trip by going over to Bendigo and further south exploring some regional towns, overall we added an extra 6 LGAs with only 18 finds for the day. Was great to see some of the interesting little towns and what they had to offer for future visits.
Day 2: As a group we hit the trails in St Arnaud as a group signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, featherwaite and gridge98) to save a lot of room in the logbook. We started off with the geoart Stars and thought it would take most of the day, as we finished it in 2.5 hours we were a bit surprised so hit the well constructed caches in the south of the town in the bush throwing a CITO in the mix. All the caches were amazing and something you don’t see anywhere else. Adding in 15 FTFs along the way with: everlasting, crank1 and Pwola. The evening settled in and we headed into town for a buffet dinner and a catch up with some familiar faces.
Day 3:
After attending the GV2020 event for the morning we set off to hit the last of the trails left in town of the metal containers, followed by the challenges for the mega as well as quite a few trads around the back roads. We ended the day by having a go at the lab caches at the mega then off to the CITO. I don't think I have ever seen so mant people at a tip before. Topped off the day with an evening event.
Day 4: By today the town was almost cleaned out and only a few caches to find, so we did the last few caches within a rough 15km radius driving around finding the odd cache here and there. The GIFF was finished off the mega so we decided to head to Horsham for the evening.
Day 5: After leaving our camp site for the morning, we cached for the morning around Horsham collecting a few grads and a well earned swim. Then made the long drive back home to Adelaide.
Thanks to all the COs for their cache placements and the Geocaching Victoria crew for organising a fantastic weekend away.

Once again Geocaching Victoria has absolutely put together another enjoyable Mega event, and what a great place to have it.
I have never had the opportunity to cache in St Arnaud before but after this weekend I will definitely be back.
Cheers for the cache and adding to the great weekend of caching fun.

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the Mega event.
FeatherWaite, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday, taking a circuitous, but scenic route to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches in some other Victorian LGAs. We met up with Freddo and Davidwazza at the event that evening and teamed up to complete a couple more caches that night together before camping out of town.
Over the next three days we cached very solidly in and around St Arnaud, finding a diverse range of Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches as well as attending all the events associated with the Mega. We also managed to complete all the Lab caches over the weekend. Logbooks were signed D.E.F.F.98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo and gridge98).
On the Sunday afternoon, after the final GIFF event, FeatherWaite and I began making our way back to Adelaide, picking up a couple of caches before camping in the Little Desert NP. The following day we continued towards home with a side visit to Mount Rescue to pick up a few caches along the tracks there.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches. They included a huge variety of containers, hides and puzzles, many of which were very clever and/or amusing and had obviously taken considerable time and effort to construct. Thanks also to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. I’ll be looking forward to the Mega at Millicent in South Australia next Easter!

Couldn't wait for this to be published and tackled it with feathertop and we met up with about 6 others. These ghost busters held my hand and wasn't so scared of of these glowing things.

This weekend was the St. Arnaud Mega event and I was looking forward to hitting the road for a few days doing some flat out caching, visiting many new and amazing places and catching up with lots of caching friends. The event was a great success and heaps of fun. The caches provided by the local cachers were, in many cases, absolutely mind blowing (FUF009 caches most notably). All in all it was a great weekend, very warm weather and lots of caches found.

Last one for the day and a fun night cache as well. Thanks Tyred n Cranky for all the effort.
We thought the crowds would have well and truly dissipated by the time we finished the Bush Meander Night cache... how wrong we were.
Unfortunately for us it made it very difficult to start this one. Couldn't find marked waypoint to start, couldn't find the first reflector between a narrow gap in the trees and needed someone to point out where to look and too many people coming back to cars and shining torches back at the start point making seeing difficult.
No doubt on a normal night after the Mega I wouldn't imagine future cachers would have this trouble, I think of it as a vie of approval of the quality and popularity of your caches in this area.
Once underway it was just Mrs Perpetually and myself working through it and we had no further issues.
In the end we both thought it was a great cache, better than Here Kitty, but that was good too.
Thx Tyred N Cranky for this one, a most enjoyable night adventure.

We were on our way to 'Here Kitty' when I noticed a car parked in an unusual spot and then torches flashing around in the bush. A quick check uncovered a new night cache A quick U turn later and we were soon hunting ghosts.
Another great night cache and happy to fluke being the second group to sign the logbook.
Thanks Tyred n Cranky

Today was a big day for Michells&hound and me as we had an early start with the GeoVenture 2020 Event in town, then tackled the StARS series along with a few others that we passed, and the remaining caches of the BW series that we didn't get to yesterday. Then it was a CITO in the Hard Hills, some more caches, the Dinner Event back at the Showgrounds finishing with a couple of night caches. [^] All in all another fun day with some good numbers and quality caches found.
We had finished at the event and met up with Aussie M & M, mogni and sir_spectre to go and get a few more before calling it a day (or night)
We had just completed another night cache when we noticed this new one published, so we decided to go and find it as well. There were lots of others who had the same idea, but we easily followed the ghosts, found the info for the final and then found the cache, our last for a big day. Another great night cache and a favourite. [^]

Out at night with the Suscoe duo we had quite a ghostly adventure, there was much discussion as to what a gathering of ghosts should be called. A FP dropped in for fun.

After a pub dinner and attending the Saturday night event we headed out to start and finish the whole O&A series and all the night caches.
Halfway through the O&A series we received notification of this new night cache. So close - surely we can beat the crowds from the Mega HQ to the FTF...
We got to the start quickly (noticed one car already there), followed the ghostly apparations, and made it to GZ just 10 minutes after publication - still 2 minutes too late for FTF!
Some great fun, though, and by the time we were leaving the starting coords looked like the Deni Ute Muster.
Thanks for the fun Tyred n Cranky.

This cache was found during the 2019 St Arnaud Event getaway.
Highlights of the Mega were attending all the weekend's social events, finding all 50 challenge caches in under 1 hour, finding all 40 lab caches, all 6 wherigos, and doing all 7 night caches in one night. No DNFs. Finding 11 cache types in 1 day. And of course making a start on the impressively creative constructions that FUF and TnC have made St Arnaud renowned for over the years.

We were around the corner when this one was published, so decided to head off to see if we could get a FTF. I was skeptical the whole way, highlighting there was hundreds of FTF hunters in the area and we literally had no chance.
We rocked up to starting point, and sure enough a Geo vehicle was there. About 50 cars were on the way in, so we started off. Good thing this is a very straight forward multi, and we could just follow the reflectors, the ghosts, and the fun!
We got one set of coords, then saw lights, followed those, and sure enough it was FTF group walking off. We feel like we probbaly missed a WP or two here, however had other plans so didn't go back and backtrack. This was a sensational night cache and we were fine about missing the FTF as saw there were kids so a good experience for them.
Shame lots of people are giving such shitty one sentence logs for such a well constructed night cache. A fave from me!

Day 4 of my road trip from Newcastle to St Arnaud for the mega event, and tonight I joined maccamob and pprass for some ghostly night fun. We arrived at WP1 to find to find plenty of torches bouncing around in the dark, and so it was just matter of following the horde. The ghost we met along the way weren't overly chatty, but they showed us the way to GZ, so we let them be. Great fun.

Day 6 of our epic trek to the St Arnaud Mega via Geelong. As you do.
The constant was my travel companion for the entire trip, - Anymules. but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire for a lot of the escapades
Today it was the last day of caching our way back over to St. Arnaud from Bendigo. We took a very slow and circuitous route finding numerous caches along the way. In fact it took unstill just after lunch until we caught up with Bushfire to head out to find the StARS series. But it was taking us too long and we had to leave the trail and head to the CITO event. Having done that of course we made a few more detours before getting back out to the StARS
Meanwhile this cache got published. What to do - what to do. [?] Bugger it we decided to complete the StARS first and then headed to this which was not very full parking lot on a narrow dirt track. A helluva lot of fun doing this one. Didn't take all that long and we soon had the cache in hand with many other hands as it turned out! FP from me.

Once at the very nice final the cache was found in the company of a large group of geocachers. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache - we love it! - and a favourite point awarded. Greetings from Zimbabwe ??????
This was one of the nightcaches I didn't have loaded on my GPS from memory, something was screwy with my St Arnaud pocket query (and I never did figure out why random caches didn't appear...) Nevertheless, the others in our party (loch, landau351 and ozibags) had the details between them and we headed of on our night-time ghost hunt. I loved this one so there was never a doubt about it getting a favourite point from me
Day 2 St Arnaud Mega
Today was another jam packed day at the Mega. After a good night's sleep it was an early start so we could go to the GeoVenture event. So quick brekkie and off we went, fueled with more coffee from Dabbling Duck (who seemed to be doing a brisk trade with all the geocachers just over the road). Also got a sandwich for lunch.
Enjoyed seeing the promo work for GeoVenture2020, just a shame I won't be able to attend the actual mega, but an Easter trip to the UK has got in the way of that.
It was then off to the Mega site to register and log a few of the trackables. A very slick operation indeed.
Then time to tackle the Stars having solved all the puzzles in advance of the trip over. It was great that the caches were spread over different roads as it meant cachers took different routes and thankfully we didn't get caught up in too much mega traffic! It was good to meet other cachers along the way. Some of the hides proved to be a bit trickier than others and we did place a throw down at No88 as with 4 teams there we could not put our hands on it.
After the Stars we finished off the BW series that we had started yesterday, some more fabulous hides there. Plus a few other caches thrown in too. It was then over to Hard Hills to do a little rubbish collection, what a lot of rubbish there was too! Also collected photos of many car trackables which was fun.
The evening saw roast beef rolls back at the Mega site, another excellent catering job by the team. After that a couple of night multis (first I have done) which were fun, hopefully one day will get to come back to St Arnaud and do the others.
Super day all round, lots of caches found. This Mega rocks.
A gang was formed to head out and do a couple of night caches, JJ52, Aussie M&M, mogni and SirSpectre. Many hands make light work. Really enjoyed my first 'proper' night caches and hope to find a few more.

A weekend of caching with AlphaDeltaIndigo and Ying-Yang in St Arnaud, along with a heap of other people. We stayed at Wedderburn, and commuted to St Arnaud each day, and what an amazing area this was to cache in! We very much enjoyed our trip to the Northern Grampians Shire! My fifth Victorian Mega (sixth overall) and can't wait to come back next year and do it again!
This was find number 28 of 28 for the day for me. TFTC Tyred n Cranky!

Mega time day 1, been a busy day but I have managed a few caches along the way, people everywhere, it's great to see!
Headed out to do some night caching with MuggleWifeDoes, gmj3191 and Highrod.
This FTF opportunity popped up just as we were finishing the last night cache but by the time we got across town and ran through the waypoints to find the prize, we were on the 3rd page of logs only 30 minutes after posting time
**Thanks for placing this cache Tyred n Cranky**

16/11/2019 22:02 With Birget(lochb), John(quiet1_au) and others we went night caching for another group find Also met 2y'stassies. This is a new cache that was published during the evening but still had many signatures before we got there. TFTC Tyred n Cranky TNLN SL
Found by Mary and David at 21:10. Tonight's cache was released a little earlier than last night, and we were quickly ready to drive to the starting point. As usual, and although we hadn't wasted any time, there were many cars there already when we arrived. Finding the waypoints and the cache meant following those ahead of us as much as we followed the trail of reflectors. There were numerous ghostly apparitions to guide us as well, and we soon had the final coordinates to the final which was not far away. Our thanks to Tyred n Cranky.
Found with Bucketeer while in St Arnaud for the Victorian Mega Weekend.
Loved attending my first Mega. Can't wait for the next one!!
I never believed in ghosts... until now!!

Suscoe and Phetlern enjoyed the task of checking out this ghostly night cache.
We saw quite a few spirits along the way.
We wondered what the collective noun for ghosts was as we walked and drove back to town.
A pleasant walk and we enjoyed finding each waypoint and seeing what looked like "Min min" lights in the bush, we hope they were all attached to other cachers.
Thanks to Tyred n Cranky for this night cache, a favourite from us.

Im not a huge fan of night caches but Im slowly warming to them. Especially the ones in St Arnaud.
Thankfully the crowds had dispersed and I was able to take my time and do this nice a peacefully. As usual, well laid out and a fun theme. Cache was found without issue. Tftc

Not often Ive headed out and claimed a new night cache while the weekends events have been on. But seeing as it was a MEGA weekend I decided to head out with sharkiefan (about an hour after this was published) and go for a look see.
Well as always the reflectors could be seen from down in Ballarat but i think they can seen the ghosts from up on Mars. boy them things reflect well. All making for a good walk around the bush late at night.

The St. Arnaud Event 2019... Day 1:
One of the great things about attending a Mega is teaming up with other cachers for a cache, a morning, afternoon, or in this case, the evening, when I was invited along with ahomburg, n0w0rries and a fun couple from Zimbabwe, to do some night caching.
Though this had only just been published, it had already turned into something of a procession by torchlight. That didn't detract from the fun, nor the quality of this cache. So good.
Cache Type #7: Multi
Love your work, Tyred n Cranky

We were out doing a different night cache with bektheraccoon and jambochicken when the notice for this cache came out we finished that cache and then headed to this one where we met up with RideTheGeoWalrus, AlphaDeltaIndigo, and Ying Yang. The ghost's where easly spotted and they were kind enough to converse with us to show us where we need to go to find the treasure of this cache. SL TFTC
One last late night cache with Maccamob and Pprass whilst the ladies stayed back at the shed. Really nicely set out. Thanks from D B-A

St Arnaud MEGA Day 1. An early, but not too early start for the first day of this Mega. More excellent caches around St Arnaud to be found and this was one of them. SteMicMitSar and I joined forces and we set off together to tackle those caches which we didn't have time to find over the Grand Final long weekend.
After a good meal, we headed out into the night to find the two night caches that had been published during this Mega. No problems in finding the waypoints and then a short walk to GZ.
**Thank-you to Tyred n Cranky for placing this geocache**

We found several along the way then another 3 appeared to reveal the cache location...
We had fun walking through the bushland by torchlight...

Day two of the St. Arnard Mega event had us looking for this cache.
After a great dinner event, we decided to head out and have a look at this one seeing that we didn't do it the night before, turns out everyone else had the same idea.
after finding Here Kitty we come around to this one, we managed to pull away from the crowd so that we could at least find it ourselves instead of arriving at GZ when the log book is being passed around.
**Thanks to Tyred n Cranky for placing this cache.**

A very quick find walking fast in the footsteps of a few other people who were not even the FTF.
Somehow we arrived at the final with Monchichi1 and 11/5 with only having found one co ordinate.
