WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 93 - Carnarvon Day 1. Day trip to Gascoyne Junction and beyond. My last county beckons and I hit the road early for a day trip. I found the cache I was looking for in Gascoyne Junction and headed a bit further north to The Kennedy Ranges National Park for a small hike up onto the plateau for two more. With time sill available I headed south to a random roadside cache before getting back on the blacktop for the run back to Carnarvon. In the late afternoon I stopped at the Rock hole on the Gascoyne river and then went back to the van to cook dinner. Tomorrow is a day around town and a chance to meet some more east coast cachers. With the sun low, I pulled in here for a look. The rock platform is very apparent and I was happy to have a good look around, but there was no onsite information so I have tried to put together some answers and have sent them off. Thanks for the cache H_M_A48679.7 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Lackey ktayor211 A#500**Albida**

Found with e.gregory1 on a trip from Adelaide to north-western Western Australia for four or five weeks. Camped out along Milinya-Exmouth Road before heading southward to spend most of the day around Carnarvon and on to our next campsite somewhere near Overlander Roadhouse, finding a few caches along the way. Thanks for the earthcache H_M_A!

Found on a trip to Western Australia from Adelaide with FeatherWaite. Last night we camped south of Coral Bay and this morning we continued traveling south towards Carnarvon and beyond. We had some time, so decided to make the short diversion out to Rocky Hole to do this earthcache. The place was a disappointment today. Just a small, stagnant green puddle. However the geology was interesting and it would be an impressive place when the river was flowing. We completed the earthcache tasks, forwarded our responses to the CO and got a quick reply. Thanks H_M_A for the earthcache.

We are having a little bit of time off from helping our friends in Nanson we decided to head north to try and collect a few more LGA's and Lab caches and anything else that pops up on screen.

As the CO will know we are far from geologists but we really enjoy earth caches and learning a little bit more on each one we do.
This one was certainly above our pay grade but with a bit of thinking and reading we came up with a set of answers that we hope will allow us to scrape though with a pass, if not we will happily delete this log.

Many thanks H_M_A for bringing us to these geological area and also for the fantastic scenery s well. We are leaving behind a favourite point.

We are on the road travelling up through central Australian and down the coast of WA .Geocahcing has taken us to so many great places in this beautiful country.I was happy to grab a few caches along the way and this was one of them.

Heading back from Gasgoyne Junction and stopped off to admire thsese lovely pools. We did have a few showers of rain while here and the road was a bit slippery on the way out. Would be fantasic on a warm day.

Thanks H_M_A for placing this earth cache and checking our answers, so we can enjoy finding it.

Heading out to Gascoyne Junction to tick off a LGA and thought we’d drop in for this earth cache. Recent rains have ensured a nice bit of water here, though we were pleased the track in was dry. Interesting place and worthy of a fav point. Thanks for bringing us here.

Isn't this a gem of a place!
TFTC, answers sent moments ago.
Just over 7 months since we left home and stated our lap, just over half way in our original time allocation and not even close to half way around the country… 25,000 ish km done, gosh we have seen a lot, but there is so much more to see.
Perhaps if/we I stopped looking at so many rocks, trees and beaches we wouldn’t be taking so long…then there are the flowers, old things and street art that keeps catching our attention.. maybe it’s the Geocaches… or the time we have spent prospecting, enriching our lives but not finding anything of material value, it’s all about the journey not the possessions. Whatever it is, we are having a bloody brilliant time and I wouldn’t change a thing!
The last few weeks have been a bit blah with some bad news from the east, apologies for the late and generic log, catch up time a lot harder than I thought, I really need to make a concerted effort (even in difficult times) to stay on top of logs answers and photos.
Thanks for being one of the caches we found in the past few weeks.

We made the detour out here from Carnarvon on our way to do a spot of glamping in Karijini. So glad we did as this was a spectacular location. So peaceful and natural. Thanks for placing this rather testing earthcache here. Tftc

We are spending a few weeks travelling to some of Western Australia's warmer regions and grabbing a couple of the LGAs that I need.
Heading out to Gascoyne Junction and we decided to stop here for lunch Looks like it might be an OK place to camp but it didn't suit our plans.
The water did look inviting but it was still a bit too cool for us.
Thanks for bringing us here.

This was find number 1 for the day.

A great time heading to the North West on a little wander out yonder holiday. Travel from Perth to Exmouth and back staying at many different locations and accomodation styles.

Thanks to all the cache owners for adding a little extra to the trip and taking us to some very magical locations.

An interesting location and a good earth cache even if most of it flew a fair way over my head.

Worthy of a FP for the location and being a remote cache. Thanks.
