This one is indeed there. In fact I almost discounted it as it seemed to be in plain sight. Sure enough on closer inspection I was convinced it was the cache, but accessing the logbook was quite the task. The cache is jammed tightly in place and was not accessible to remove and unscrew its lid.Enter the MacGyver type skills and using some natural TOTTs I began the process of trying to get into the cache. It took a number of attempts, but I soon had it open and the log book in hand.A big thanks goes to napier92 for taking the time to add Botanica to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? I found this cache on my Mega Walk #28 - a 23,000 step walk through Hawkestowe, South Morang and Keon Park. Our second find in this park having found a cache called "Ducks on a Beach" a few metres north back in 2007. Once here, I soon spotted the cache. As I pulled the log book from the cache, I fumbled and dropped the log book and I was standing right over the water. Now, I am usually the person who when they drop something, see it inexplicably skitter to a place which will be an almost impossible place to go and be equally hard to locate it again quickly. This happens so regularly that I work out odds of that thing actually occurring, which is usually a very tiny fraction. So, here is what happened today - at the spot where I was standing, there was a piece of timber that sticks out from the bridge and there are quite a number of these on both sides of the bridge. From were I dropped it, there was probably a 15% chance of the log book hitting that piece of timber. Now hitting it is not enough so save it from the water. The log book is only as wide as that bit of timber and it is quite a bit longer than the width too. Therefore enough of the logbook (way more than 50% of it) had to land on the timber so that inertia does not carry it straight on past as it deflects into the water. That is a 10% chance on top of the 15% of actually hitting it so that is a total of 1.5%. However - the third factor to consider is that the log book also has to land flat on the timber. If the logbook is at any angle whatsoever when it makes contact, the greater the angle, the greater the chance that it would hit and bounce off the top. This is the greatest problem of all at a probability of 5% and together with the other two factors gives a combined probability of 0.075% that I was going to look down and see that log book lying flat on that bit of timber. And yet, there it was. So refreshing to see the odds in my favour. Thanks from D B-A

Busy... busy... busy! Christmas is almost here and lots to do still... hardly any time for caching but I had to get out this morning and find a heap of caches if I was going to earn the *December Solstice souvenir*. And so I was up early and heading over the the City of Whittlesea where I still had lots of caches to look for. The first hour was really productive... every cache a quick find... but not so the next couple of hours. As is the way of caching, my targets were either hard to find or possibly missing... Still, with perseverance, I got there... I got the souvenir. Thanks **napier92** for this cache... a nice easy find.

22-Dec-23
With a new souvenir on the line i had to get out and make the effort to find a cache today, and i had this one on my radar. After some looking around and waiting for muggles to get out of the way. I went in for the hide and found it pretty easily. Log was signed and the cache returned back to its original hiding position.

Thanks for another one napier92

Searched entire area pretty elaborately. Searched both logical sides. Video called a previous finder and no success… Dang.

11-Jun-23
Arrived to Thomastown for an afternoon walk and a few caches. Took me a while at GZ, as I’ve shrugged off the first item I had a glimpse of as rubbish. After exploring other possible troll options, I reverted to the first sight of the cache on the ground.

After finding a certain cache on the other side of town I had some maintenance business to attend in Woodlands then in Whittlesea and to finish of the WEGT trail that has been on my radar for awhile
I have been laid up with a bung knee so not much walking could be done lately but finally it has recovered enough to get me out and about and finding a few caches.
Continuing my travels along McKimmies Road picking off green dots on my map that I pass.
A nice little spot that is tucked away amongst the housing around here.
I’m glad nobody was around to see some bloke lying on the ground looking for this one.
Happy to see some recent maintenance done to bring this one back on line.

Thanks napier92 TFTC.

We’re all going to Rutherglen to participate in Victoria’s next Mega!

In the vicinity dropping off no longer needed text books and I noticed this cache quite nearby. The shower had stopped and this also meant no muggles. Nice park, I remember when it was newly developed, it has certainly matured beautifully. Thanks napier92, I found the cache neatly tucked away.

Second one while up this way today. I knew where this was going to be as I approached GZ but not *exactly* where. [8)] Nonetheless, after a little trial and error, I finally had the stash in hand at 11:10. What a great little park, complete with a family of ducks. Big Grin

TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks napier92.

Kato Potato and I had booked accommodation in Mill Park for the Whittlesea MEGA event.....non-refundable accommodation which thankfully opened up to us regional Victorians this very week. Despite not being able to attend the now-cancelled MEGA, we got back in the saddle of geocaching and realised how much we'd missed it in 2020.

Full of a delicious breakfast, we headed here to keep the good luck going and I failed the mask rules. After a return trip to the car, we were on the way and made a quick find in a typical spot. TFTC napier92

15-Nov-20
After a particularly long caching hiatus thanks to COVID-19, Mummy Short Legs and I finally got to hit the road again for our annual caching weekend away. This weekend was originally planned to be celebrated with the nearby Mega event, cancelled for obvious reasons. We still had an accommodation booking though and thought waste not, want not! A great weekend away and an opportunity to just enjoy the area.

We were marvelling at the surrounding houses in the area, particularly the blue stone one - wow! This may have caused Mummy Short Legs to get almost to GZ before clutching her face and announcing she'd forgotten her face mask, before hightailing it back to the car to rectify the situation. The COVID times were are living in eh? This gave me some time to start the search, but unfortunately I had to admire the fish and ducks for a prolonged period due to the avid exercising muggles in the area that just kept popping up. In the end, MSL laid hands on it first! SIgned and on our way, masked, once more. TFTC napier92

Well, I see that I'm not the first visitor here to experience deja vu upon arrival here.

No problem with muggles at this time of day in winter, though the park is quite busy on summer evenings.

Tonight, I noticed something that gave me a good idea of where I should check, and sure enough, there it was.

Thanks, napier92.

And on that note, it's time to head for the Ring Road and beyond.

There used to be a cache right here, that pipe you see had a tap attached, I was FTF on that cache, obviously some muggle now has it in his shed. See photo of said pipe, Shame a new cache could not be created from this.

Thanks napier92 for Botanica

Out early today before going to work to find a cache to fill the date. Glad I can count on finding a napier92 cache fairly easily. TFTC Napier 92.

Out and about with Trailstevo, on a 10km walk, which went wrong and ended up at 16km. Having reviewed the map and seen a few more cache being published in the area I thought we would do a lap. Certainly know we had covered some distance by the time we got back, but were rewarded with 14 (I think ) cache. Two of which were prior DNFs. Thanks for the exercise and adventure Napier92. Agee muggled about be we ninja style had cache in hand

27-Jan-20
Had to wait for muggles to wander off before finding it. Good hiding spot.

27-Jan-20
When we got to GZ I thought I'd found a cache here before. Then someone nearby says "it's gone". We turn around and a man shows us where the old one used to be (Which I'm sure I've at least looked for, pretty sure I'd found). Then we tell him a new one has been put out (and has been found today). So he says he will have to look for it another day, while we proceed to look for the new one. I found it pretty quickly. TFTC napier92.

26-Jan-20
Well, that 10km walk with Gunks to do a Mill Park loop collecting caches turned into a 16km trek. Found all except one. Good mixture of hides. Plenty of muggles out early but got a bit lonelier once darkness descended. TFTC

25-Jan-20
Wow!...this little oasis is a hidden gem....gorgeous urban park amongst impressive houses.
The cache was found exposed and on the ground, so I rehid it where I thought it probably came from.
This is the second cache that I have found with an adorable little hand sewn cockatoo inside....I’d have loved to have had it, but I didn’t have anything worthy enough in me to trade.
Thanks for the cache Napier92

Find #1024 @15:40

Like a few others I remember visiting this park for a cache very close to where this one was located. Today the find was made in gale force winds as the rain began to threaten on a very humid afternoon. Left a pencil pack and some handmade swag and took a dinosaur. TFTC!

18-Jan-20
This one took a bit longer to locate, GPS just kept jumping around, so then we had to
revert to brute force, and look to likely spots, so happy when cache was located and
log signed.
Thanks napier92

Out with xambo4u, we set out early to cache in Mill Park. A lovely day with some interesting caches along the way. Beautiful gardens here, a quick find. Thanks napier92

17-Jan-20
Out and about with echidna44 for an other enjoyable day of caching. Another nice green space to discover. We are so lucky to have these available. I always amazed that these water spaces do not need fencing but back yard pools do.!! Thanks napier92 for all your variety of caches and spaces that you have led us today.

It has been many years since I have not had to work on Christmas Eve. All my preparations for tomorrow have been delegated to my sons and I am free to geocache for a few hours.

Another quiet park, which I visited previously to find a now archived cache.
Another quick find in a familiar place.
Another smiley on my geomap.

This was my last cache for this today as I need to buy one last Christmas present for my son.

Thank you napier92 for keeping a cache in this park.

18-Dec-19
As I remember it there used to be a different cache very close to this one. Thanks for another cache not too far from home. TFTC.

2TF. Drove past this park on Tuesday after finding Old Red, and there were a good number of locals using it, which is always a good sign. Today the bananas log was up on the website by the time I got there, and so there was no pressure. Cache was quickly found, and signed - thanks napier92.
