I left Hahndorf and it was misty, but it didnt deter me, I had to get out for some air and a walk. I came to Mount Barker to have another go at #1, this time with inside knowledge. I was still unable to find it. Undeterred, onto #2 and then walked on to this one #3. A relatively quick find here, I wonder should I head back to #1 now with the new knowledge.
Thanks for the cache hevwalker. Cache in good condition. Find #8856 at 4.48pm

A quick easy find today; took the opportunity to watch the Steam train go past as well - magnificent! TFTC
Southern Autumn adventure Day 50. Mid North section of SA trip Day 21. Mount Barker 1. Today and the next two days are really transitional to me getting to Mildura in time to do the Paddle Steamer with friends from Canberra. In the meantime I had a day around Mount Barker area today. There was light rain on and off, but it was not much of a problem. I tried to find the multi's I worked out the numbers for yesterday and had a load more caches on the list that went from smoothly to very problematic. I had to skip a whole section as the only access road we being re-surfaced. It was a long and quite difficult day at times, but with that comes a sense of achievement with what was found. I finished the day with dinner in the pub in town and had a great night !
I was happy to find two of the well disguised train track caches to day.

I had a time to look for a few more caches in Mount Barker before I really had to return home. I parked fairly close by to the tracks and made my way along the walking path. This was the first one I came across and I had a good idea what I should be looking for. Even armed with this potential knowledge it took me a while to home in on the well disguised cache. I haven't actually seen one quite like this before despite finding a number like this over the years. TFTC hevwalker
Out for a days caching before Trail06 around Mount Barker.
This was a previous DNF for TRail06 so we had to stop. Took longer than it should have.
All caches found were in good order unless otherwise noted.

Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks hevwalker for the cache.
Cache was still in place but drowning. Have moved to slightly higher ground & has new logbook.
Sneaky one

A nice day to be caching in Mt Barker, the temp being 28°C here, while it was 36°C down in Adelaide .
Took awhile to find this one [|)]. TNLNSL.
Thanks for another one Hevwalker.

i got inducted to the highway upgrade site between stirling and craters last week. It turns out that i was allowed on site but the truck wasn't, no UHF radio to talk to the traffic controllers. Today the UHF radio was getting installed, that was a 2 - 3 hour job. That left me plenty of time to go shopping and then stroll down to these nearby caches. Walked down from number 2. I got to gz and again the phone wouldn't settle. Found in about 2 minutes. At least no school muggles this time of the day.
This evening, I headed to Mount Barker to visit a new few reserves and areas. It was a nice evening, and as it started to get dark, I headed home.
This was my first cache for the afternoon, and took a few minutes to locate. The cache blended in very well, and was a different type of these that I have seen. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks hevwalker for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Found with Erine14 on our Mt Barker area caching day to celebrate her birthday! TFTC!
Taking a small break from being essential in the area for some exercise with Purrfect Di.
Lots of dog walkers and cyclists here, but all keeping a safe personal bubble!
No trains for a while though. Nice quick find.

Mr Tardis & gridge98 were hijacked by freddo and Trigger_Fish, off for a leap day caching adventure starting at 4am and caching until the evening when Mr Tardis's brain and body stopped functioning. Leap days do strange things to geocachers.
A sneaky hide, but it was spotted fairly quickly.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache hevwalker.

Today was a loooooong day, it’s the 29th so we really stretched the mark on it. Out for the day with : Freddo trigger_fish and tardis trio. We followed the events around the state all up there was 8. Followed by the odd cache here and there.

Complete the Calendar to have found both a mystery and a multicache on every day. Should be able to do one probably not both. [^]
After filling the calendar to have a minimum of 5 caches per day last year, let's try for 11 this year. Possible but not probable.
Today I needed to find At least six caches including a multi-cache. So once again I headed over to Willunga!
Having talked to the CO and several past finders about this nemesis cache at an event the other night I decided I would give this a go on the way there. [^] So up I walked and looked in the same spot where I thought it would be and had searched at least four or five times before....no way Jose......there it was. I think I need my eyes checked again. [B)]
Nemesis cache now complete - as are all but one multi cache within 20 km of home.
***Thanks hevwalker for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

On our annual holidays to South Australia for the Tour Down Under Bicycle Race and staying in Mount Barker Caravan Park for the week.
We arrived on Saturday and that evening while walking around the streets we worked out the multi's around town. By the time we finished it was getting dark so we had to leave the finals for another day.
Today is a Rest Day for the race and we had plans but alas with the drizzly rain our plans were changed. When the rain stopped we decided to go for a walk and grab a few caches. We managed to get 12 for the afternoon after walking 10 ks around town. We ended up with 8 multi's, and 4 trads. Included in these we were able to find 2 that were previous DNF's from years gone by.
Train Tracks #2. What happened to #1? On a closer inspection of the map by FUF009 we soon had it worked out (See FUF009 log)
Again we spent a bit of time here looking for this one but not as long as #2. Then Mr Tyred n Cranky came across the cache. We all wondered why it was hidden where it was as it was in such a peculiar spot. Oh well at least we found it and were able to sign the log.

Find # 8734
Over in SA, with Tyred n Cranky, for the Tour Down Under and as normal Mount Barker is our Home for the week.
Saturday we walked the streets and got most of the Newer multi's sorted that are around the town but it got late and we only got one of them found that night.
So today after the rain and drizzle had stopped we decided to get out of the cabin and go stretch the legs a bit.
Ended up with 12 finds (8 multi and 4 trads) we had 2 caches that were previous DNFs from years gone by. It was a long and enjoyable 10k walk around the town.
We wondered what happened to "Train Tracks #1" as we could only see 2,3 and 4 on the map. it was soon apparent that the bridge we walked under had an old cache on it we had found back in 2018..... arr that is now #1.
This one took us a quite some time to locate. We hunted around and kinda had an idea what we should be looking for. After spreading our hunt area around, it was Mr Tyred n Cranky that made the find back at were the GPSr was Pointing to.
We had to have a laugh as it was a little of an odd placement.
****Found out from CO, At the TDU event, that this one had been elevated slightly and not in its original placement. Also happy to help out brisal5 with a "Nemesis cache" Ha Ha Ha it was not that hard to find.

Sal was free to come and cache today so I gave her the choice of Goolwa or Willunga as our target area. Willunga it is!
But on the way I had to just stop here. After a disappointing DNF last night by torchlight I thought that by having a second set of eyes, having sunlight and having confirmed what I was looking for by finding #2 - this would be found. No so. despite a good half an hour and spreading out 10 metres either side of where my GPSr said I should find it I had another big DNF.
Some caches are just destined to be a NEMISIS cache. [B)][B)] Shall wait to see if it gets found before I embarrassment myself a third time!

Had organised to come up to Mt Barker and surrounds with Michells&hound to find some of the newer caches that we both hadn't found. We had a shaky start, but once we got into the swing we ended up having a successful day, although we had to resort to a couple of PAF's.
The day was mostly spent visiting churches and old buildings and I ended up finding 11 multis the most I have ever found in a day.
After not finding #1 then moving on and finding #2 we headed for this one. Took a little longer, but found it after looking from the right direction...now on to #4.
Thanks for the cache hevwalker.

Today was a day of caching in and around Mount Barker with JJ52. I think my caching mojo was way off, navigation skills poor (missed both turnoffs to Mount Barker too busy chatting so a bit of a detour to Callington!), cache hunting poor, meaning more than one Paf. But in the end 19 caches found by me and 25 by JJ52. It was a good day out despite the heat. Lots of multis found, lots of churches visited and lots of Mount Barker history gleaned.
This one took a while but JJ52 found it in the end. TFTC Hevwalker

After finding the last one this one was a little more straight forward knowing what I was looking for... great cache. TFTC.
Today I headed up the freeway to do a few selected caches mostly in the Littlehampton, Nairne and Mount Barker areas, but some a bit further afield. I was a bit surprised at just how busy it was, but I guess it is Sunday, nearly Christmas and a nice mild day so everyone is out and about.
I managed to visit a number of earthcaches and complete a few multis, traditionals and letterbox caches. All were found easily and were in good condition.

With possible information gained came back here for another look. Liz and I persisted with the given co-ords while Gwen went further afield and thankfully made the find.

Well this one had us stumped for awhile .Even Trogg who we happened to meet up with here was just about to give up . Well after about 15 minutes we decided enough was enough and continued to the next cache along the trail.hoping we would have more luck .
After getting a joint FTF with Earthlight and Trogg at that cache we thought we New what to look for back at this one . We searched far and wide and eventually found it hiding in the shade. Co ords about 20 metres out for us today
After signing the log as joint FTF once again we walked away with a smiley on our maps.

Sorry cachers. Fat fingers or fatigue have caused a slight error in entering coords. Now corrected.

Took my trusty bike for a pedal to the next cache hoping to grab a possible FTF.
Not good timing as the local kids had just come out of school.
But got rather crossed eyed looking at rocks.
So moved onto the next cache & then came back for one last look, too good for me.
Thanks for the hide hevwalker.
