So the council has replaced the original hide and I went to put a new container back in the original hide. Unfortunately is a non magnetic structure so my cache was not going to work. The cache that was there slightly to the west is still in place. And as I expected the cache was so easy for the last loggers that they didnt bother to sign. Been there done that but not really in the spirit of the game

33,821. Found with Team CIA23 - Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023.Our caching group has been eyeing off the Albury/Wodonga area for quite some time. After many months of hard work we had solved nearly all the area's puzzles, so we set a date and headed on down. CIA23 comprised of minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, isopeda, barb2e, FurfacesLL, Tankengine, dty73, Sol de lune, LuckyL10n, albida33, Aykayem, smittengranny and myself. For part of one day we were joined by local Cacher Happy Feet 1. What a great weekend of caching with such a fun group of people. An event on the Saturday night also helped make the trip memorable. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log as CIA23, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list. Thanks Thewins5 !!

We joined in on the Canberra Albury Invasion or CAI fun this long weekend. After lots of puzzle solving and planning the time had come for a four day weekend of geocache hunting and hiking in and around the Albury/Wodonga area. We could not have picked a better weekend, we had great weather and avenged a couple of DNF's for us. Apologies for the generic log, thank you to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches in this area, and for giving us a reason to come down the highway and visit this lovely area. Thanks for the hide and multi Thewins5

04-Nov-23
fitzy_1965 and I headed towards Albury/Wodonga last night. We camped at the Ettamogah Pub before joining the rest of our friends in Albury today.A great day was had with us picking up lots of trads, multi's and pre-solved puzzles with the day ending in an event in the heart of Albury and a nice hotel room thanks to a Red Balloon voucher. The logs were primarily signed as CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury) unless otherwise stated.

Albury Invasion trip Day 2. After panning and months of puzzle solving it is finally time to head to Albury Wodonga for a long weekend visit. I was with Kitty Katch, FufacesLL and Joolay for this trip, but I also spent time with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n due to space in cars. Logs for the weekend were signed CIA23 to save space. Today was a day of driving all up and down and across back and forth around Albury trying to visit as many of the Puzzle locations we have solved. Some were nice walks some just roadside finds, but there was a huge variety of hides and some were very challenging, even if they were in 'traditional' locations. We did fail to find a few, but I put that down to some really good hides that just plain beat us. There were a few puzzle highlights but matching the puzzle to the hide on the day was a little difficult, so I will just thank all the hider's for their hard work and providing the opportunity to spend a fun day. There are still more caches to be found so we have another day planned for tomorrow and will probably have to come back again one day. Thanks for the cache Thewins544912.79 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 12 Days of Caching 2007 Gold A#87**Albida**

Apologising up front for the generic logs. Cannot complain about the quality and quantity here, it was a great mixture. Some are very challenging hides and some even defeated us and some of those puzzles, just glad it was more than me working on them. Looking forward to coming back. Its a perfect weekend to get out of town. Decided Albury was the place to go. Lots of lovely puzzles that we have spent time as a group working through now its time to venture down and pick up.Signing as CIA-Canberra Invasion of Albury. Thanks for getting me out and about Thewins5

Day 2 of our Albury Trip. For the last few weeks a group of us sat together and solved lots of puzzles for this weekend.Today, SmittenGranny, barb2e, Kittykatch, albida33, FurfacesLL, Joolay, Sol de Lune, LuckyL1On, MinnieK, Fitzy_65, Tankengine, DTY73, Aykayem and me went around Albury and found puzzles, multies, trads, ALs and a virtual etc.To save log space we are signing as CIA (aka Canberra invasion of Albury). The puzzles were all quite interesting, the hides sometimes hard. Sorry for the generic logs. Caching in the group makes logging hard.TFTC

Day 2 of the Canberra invasion weekend of Albury. Being ex an Canberran, I headed up to join in the fun of the weekend with LuckyL10n, Albida33, fitzy_1965, minniek, tankengine, dty73, Joolay, KittyKatch, Smittengranny, Isopeda, Barbe2e and FFLL. Today we started to the north of Albury and headed towards the CBD, grabbing caches on both sides of the freeway as we went. Lots of pre solved puzzles, along with a number of traditionals, were found during the day. Unfortunately we had a few DNF's as well. Thanks to all the CO's for the caches...and the fun we had over the weekend. Logs were signed CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury)...

#18928; Day 2 of the Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023 weekend, which had been preceded by much head scratching and puzzle solving to prepare. Our merry band comprised of Sol de lune, albida33, Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, Barb2e and isopeda, along with yours truly, were joined by dty, tankengine, aykayem, minniek and fitzy_65 for a day of action today. Started the day to the north of town and then worked our way south, east and west as we gathered caches. Some finds were difficult as were some of the puzzles and some were easier. Some we didn't find at all! All up 103 finds, one event at the end of the day and nine DNFs for me today. Logs were again signed CIA23. Most of the caches we found were in good order. Apologies for the generic logs, but by the end of the day, like the body, the mind was slowing down as well! Thanks to all of the cache owners for helping make a great weekend for our Canberra caching fraternity. TFTC Thewins5 Smile

After stuffing up the Botanical Gardens mystery and getting locked out of the gardens at the Event I needed a win. Luckily there is always another cache nearby.
Wonderful fixes I had t noticed before. Great little easy multi. TFTC! SL at 17:50pm.

Zeus had a day's work in Wodonga so I came along for the ride and nicked across the border to grab some multis and work towards a couple of challenges. It was such a great way to pass the time.

I really enjoyed this multi. A nice short wander, gathering information from some everyday but interestingly decorated street infrastructure. I also appreciated the cryptic GZ clue.

Found at 2:27 PM GAFF3
We thought that we were at the wrong spot as we couldn't see any rivers - we just knew we were near a drainage canal - is that the river?
Spotted the cache after looking around a bit and when it was opened a heap of water came out - and it was even in the zip lock bag!
Replaced the container so that the lid was facing down - people please replace these sort of containers with the lid facing down will you! Just think a little before running away to the next cache Sad
Thanks Thewins5.

Been out from UK visiting family for the last couple of weeks. This is my last day before flying back home tomorrow so it was a last minute dash about grabbing the adventure lab bonus's and last of the solved puzzles/multi's. Made it up the monument for dawn although sadly no nice sunrise as very overcast.

The info had been obtained and I sat and admired the river, then I looked all over, saw nothing and went back to where I should have looked first and spotted it instantly.

All in good order, log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for placing this cache for me to find!! Big Grin

I've glanced at this multi a couple times when visiting Dean street last couple years - always assumed it was a large effort and I would need an hour or perhaps more (and a non-raining day). Never looked at it properly to be fair. Found myself near the starting coords (sort of) today with an hour to kill, so thought I'd give it a go, at least make a start.

Confused myself a bit on getting started ... one does not need to commence in the middle of the Botanic Gardens, this one is about Dean street, the reference to the gardens is to another multi (one I've long done apparently). Rightio, repositioned at the start, oh that was easy. OK, I am underway, and there's only two more relatively close waypoints to visit. I honestly expected to be chasing painted boxes up and down the entire main drag. I can do this.

Waypoint 1 sorted, rechecked (I am notorious for not reading things properly), checked a third time - OK, that's all making sense. Off to Waypoint 2, cool another easy one. And now I have coords of the final? Woohoo, that wasn't hard at all.

Walked to my newly calculated final, a bit wary of the hint. It wasn't making sense ... until it suddenly did make sense. Oh that's clever, and there's my target ... yup, logbook signed. Happy days.

FP for the interesting history, and location, and for fooling me. Much enjoyed little multi, and I've still got time for a coffee.

Thanks Thewins5 for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #9369}* Cool

After a yummy lunch in Dean St, we walked down the street and completed the cache information at the required waypoints. Easily found the cache at GZ, when I could see it from a distance=don't need glasses yet says the other half! TFTC.

16-Oct-20
Matho64 and I had a lovely lunch at the local ss&a and afterwards decided to go for a walk to find this multi.
I really enjoyed finding the coordinates then sat in the botanical gardens to work out the coordinates for GZ.
While I was in the gardens I found some hints for a puzzle there too.
A quick and easy find. TFTC

Found while killing time in Albury as husband had a long dental appointment. Parked near the start and took a little walk, collecting information as I went. Had a closer look at a few spots that I usually just drive past. Made the find and then continued on to collect some information for another multi. TFTC

Tftc, in town for work and staying nearby. Wanted to grab some caches while I was here. Grabbed the WPs backwards, did the maths and realised I had already used GZ during my walk. Returned and grabbed.

19-Jul-20
Had eaten some lunch nearby in the gardens so thought we may aswell do some caches whilst we are in the area.
A beaut sunny winters day to be out in some fresh air. With numbers gathered it was off to GZ and the cache was located by Junior Ez before I’d even go there!
TFTC. The log was dry but there was a fair bit of moisture in the container, we dried it out the best we could before replacing.

17-Jun-20
A trip in to town to visit family gave me the opportunity to attempt this one today.
Having been a local all my life I know Dean St. well but not the intricate history belonging to the Dean Street Bridge and surrounds.
I parked nearby the posted co-ords and set off on the trek to determine the numbers.
It was reasonably quiet in the area and so the figures were determined without too much fuss.
With all the data pointing to a likely spot it didn't take too long to locate the little hide.
SL at 12 noon. Cache all ok.
A nice little multi down this end of Dean St., and from it I know a bit more about my birthplace. TFTC Thewins5.

Invited to Albury for a day of caching by Roostaman, and to add to a great day out - we met up with Rebel Acts. It started out with cool weather, and didn't get much warmer but the caching went on. Thanks to all the CO's for making this an eventful trip.
Some logs signed at RATDR - which represents all three teams - to save space on the log.

Many thanks for placing this cache, Thewins5, for us and others to find.

Found on a fine Winter day for another drive to escape COVID-19. Wink
A fun trip to Albury for the day with The Drovers and Rebel Acts.
Some good safe hides and a few tricky hides too.
A nice walk around here and a quick find at GZ, thankfully.
Cache condition is OK/good.

A cute little multi which I beat the kids to. Yah!!!
I beleive the art work is graffiti proof stickers.

Initially imagined my maths wrong but the River View was not quite what I expected. Happy to collect another interesting multi that has got me noticing more of the signal boxes around town including the solar panel pic on Smollet. In Albury to pick up some hardware before a total shut down whilst keeping a mindful social distance. TFTC

11-Feb-20
TFTC. We had solved for the final GZ last week when we were in Albury. Dropped Linda off at the Hospital for shoulder surgery and then walked the short distance to GZ. Admired the River View without attracting attention.

I have been saving this local cache for a day that I needed to fill in a calendar grid.
Geokid#3 enjoyed looking for the information required at each waypoint. At gz the cache was found quickly, log signed and returned as found. Thanks Thewins5 a great little multi

After a bit of retail therapy in town due to gift vouchers received at Christmas time, we decided to walk off lunch with a Multi or two, and this was first cab off the rank.
The gathering of info went well and GZ turned out to be in a spot we didn't first call, but a spot we wondered if something would be there.....
Anyway, the Queen made the quick find and we signed our lives away in the log.
Cheers

01-Jan-20
I was going to do this one yesterday I had collected the information but GZ was a busy spot so left it for this morning. A lot quieter today, I have driven pass this spot on many occasions and never noticed this area, the prize was located quickly log signed and replaced. TFTC gets a favourite for nice multi and location.

This one took a little longer than expected. The numbers I got just didn't add up. Eventually I realised I had made a mistake at one of the waypoints and after that I found the cache.

Thanks Thewins5 for a great central Albury multi around this bridge and street art (not to mention fab tiger moth!).
