Phew! A nice easy find after the last one . . .I'd solved this series years ago but never found the right day to spend some time walking around the Warrandyte State Park. Well today was the day . . . a day off for Anzac Day, 25 April. I'm trying to find 250 caches on the 25th of the month for a challenge (https://coord.info/GCA000R) so I couldn't resist doing a third of this series on a lovely 3 hour bushwalk in the afternoon. We'd spend the morning at the Upwey/Belgrave RSL Service. Two of the kids were in the guard of honour for the parade as members of the Upwey CFA brigade. The other was in the parade representing the Upwey/Tecoma footy club. Zeus could've marched as he was an officer in the NZ Army about 20 years ago. It was a really special morning.
#1434 - Spent a very hot morning in some abnormal early Spring heat starting off the GOLD series with a nice hike. Tftc
This is GOLD! [^]
This series first came to our attention when we were chasing caches placed on any Christmas Day. We solved and found the few we needed for that challenge. Ever since then, this entire Geoart (including those not placed on 25th December) had been on a list of mine I named "Christmas Gold". [^]
Today catnap777 and I set out to find as much "Christmas Gold" as we could, and totally amazed ourselves by visiting them all and signing all bar one DNF and the three caches we found last time.
This was probably our longest hike together and now we are feeling like we can do anything.
TFTC&Series Gunks.
A golden opportunity to test our metal.

Puzzle solved and cache found with dalerious .
Signed log at 1340hrs.
We had a big day planned, and we were doing the lot, yes the entire series on foot. All but 3 which we signed on another trip.
An awesome series Gunks, and the majority of caches were found in excellent condition. We replaced the log paper and plastic bag in 2, and 1 was a dnf.
We had two things on our mind for this weekend, Gold and Cachemas caches.
Firstly, we were off to Warrandyte searching for Au, and I am so excited to say that we walked the entire park, and we signed all but one of the series. We even added a couple of other caches that were positioned around the area that we were hiking.
My knee has issues but I am built of sturdy stuff and made the entire walk from begging to end in the one day .
That was the Saturday. On the Sunday we concentrated on the Cachemas caches, picking off the ones that were in the vicinity of where we were staying. One ahomburg challenge cache was situated in an area that required quite a steep ascent.
We enjoyed a very successful weekend of caching, and thank all the CO's that have been busy placing out so many caches for us to find. There were some truly remarkable caches placed out .

Another one, where I checked about four other logs first. I had to bend down a bit here and avoid getting my eyes poked out by some low-hanging twigs. I completely missed the cache as I peered into the abyss, then an 'uh duh' moment, and it was soon in my hands.
After doing some maintenance work on the back verandah this morning, we had to wait for the paint to dry, so we grabbed the deadly treadlies, and with Chewinprickles we rode some of the Gold series.
A beautiful day and nice trails although some were a bit challenging on the bikes, but a lovely ride with very few muggles spotted.
We will return for the last third and the finals.
Looked like a nice spot for a swim near here.
A bit tricky to find our next track.
Thanks for this series, Robmc.

Decided to go after this series today which we did by bike. Must say some of the narrow steep trails were a bit of a challenge on the bike but we succeeded mostly.

Why do I always go the hard way? By the time I had got to GZ, which was really only about 40m from multi, Tiz had cache in hand.
Arriving at this cache was super cool as my Geo spirit animal made an appearance in abundance they were not fussed by our arrival. No we didn't sing the skippy song.
Note log full.

It felt like I was walking on a golf course - wide open spaces between trees, beautifully green close cropped grass. I ended up near the river, which was running hard, and made a quick find at GZ. Thanks Gunks for a good walk.
It looked like someone had great fun with bubbles in the river today - Father’s Day celebrations?
Found on our way back to the car park after finding the final in this series. Thanks
Third trip out this way finding nuggets. Didn't spot a single other person while frolicking about enjoying the stunning green plains.
First off just wanted to say congrats to this cache series for being a finalist for the 2020/2021 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards!
I am very keen on trying to find as many of the finalists for these awards as I can. So came out here today to try and work on this series!
This was my second trip out to Warrandyte State Park. I ended up finding #1 in the series back in April when I was working on the "Mystery Cache Monthly Challenge" (GC5MTHY).
The Warrandyte State Park is just absolutely gorgeous, and after a long stressful day at work, was exactly what I needed tonight to be refreshed.
Just when I thought I had figured out the CO's hiding style for this series, I ended up DNFing the previous cache. The sun was starting to set now and although there was still plenty of daylight to continue a bit longer, I did have to put on the headlamp just be able to have a better luck. Luckily my confidence was completely destroyed after the last DNF and made this find not to long after I arrived at GZ. This one was my 7th find for the day, and my 8th find in the series.
Thanks for all the fun tonight and TFTC.
Cache Maintenance Status:
The container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry but it is starting to get fairly full and the edges are starting to appear to be a bit tattered.

Coming along a smaller track I eventually linked up with the main track and got to GZ here. Another really interested spot that I have not been to. No trouble with finding this one.

Another nice and easy one. By this point we were pleased with our array of dinosaurs we had picked up!
Another nice quick find here. I'm starting to wish I had my scooter with me now, as my feet are starting to complain. It wouldn't have been any good along the riverside track, but these more formed roads would have been fun.
I can't thank you enough for introducing me to this area, Gunks. I'm having a great time and I reckon I'll be back.
Log signed and cache hidden again. Tftc.

Another ripper of a location. I think we have only come across a couple of people today and am surprised this area was deserted, as it’s a perfect spot for a family picnic. After a quick find, once again we all enjoyed our surroundings before heading off to grab more gold in them thar hills.
You certainly are a great tour guide Gunks, highlighting these areas for us. Cheers.

With failing light and no time for the nearby multi we made the comfy ride to GZ and back to an easier approach to that one tricky hide.

*Cache find # 12808.*
Yesterday I was heading out to try and complete this series after starting it back in February but after getting sidetrack, I ran out of time so I have returned today to try my luck.
Some of the trails were done by bike but most was done on foot, it was a great day out covering a big area on a few different grades of tracks.
**Thanks to Gunks for placing this cache.**

Back over this way and decided that these last 2 caches needed to be found.
Lucky last and happy to see that typical hide again
I parked in my favourite spot and enjoyed my walk to find this gold.

After a well earned break at one of the Secluded Benches of Manningham for a snack and a drink, started the walk back and found this treasure not too far off the path. TFTC
Sometimes your plans for caching just seem to go awry... like today! Needing a cache to help me complete ** The Non-Traditional Calendar Challenge **, I have picked out a Multi in Donvale... but GoogleMaps was saying the traffic on Fitzsimons Lane was a mess due to roadworks and it would be quicker going through Warrandyte.
So off I set via Warrandyte... and along the way I decided that I would go for a different Multi in Warrandyte State Park because it was closer. After a pleasant stroll through the park I arrived at the *secluded bench* and worked out my answer. Although it looked right, I couldn't get enough signal to run the checker to be 100% certain. Sure I could take a wander and have a look... but if I was wrong, I would still need a non-Trad cache today... and that would require another walk which I really didn't have the time for...
The best option was to change my target again... to this cache which I had previously solved but was still to go looking for. It was on my way back to my car and gave me absolute certainty that I would get the non-Trad cache I needed today... after all, I still need to find caches on a quite a few other days to complete the challenge so I can always come back another day to finish off the Multi...
Thanks **Gunks** for the cache and the series.

I caught up to the muggles from earlier but they were sitting around the corner from the cache. They had moved off by the time I came back around.

Out caching with Echidna44, I took the opportunity to find some of the gold series that I had solved. Echidna had already done this series, so I skipped on ahead to sniff the caches out, and she ambled along behind. All caches were found quickly and easily in the expected locations. An excellent series in a beautiful location.
Accompanied with silence49, we had a great time finding your cache Gunks, thank you so much for placing it.

Find #11696
Out this Melbourne Cup day with SedgwickDave. Purpose of today's visit was a small shakedown hike getting ready for a 2 week section of the Australian Alps Walking Track later this month.
This series of puzzles had been solved many moons ago. It was a warm 30 degree day and the car park was overflowing with cars parked several hundred metres along the road.
Dave made the quick find here.
Thanks to Gunks for the cache.

Why is it that the caches closest to home seem to be the last ones that you look for. Had the chance to go for a stroll today and find some of this series with a couple of previous finders. My GZ was some distance out here but everyone else looked somewhere else, so so did I. Thank you for all that has gone into placing and maintaining this series is a great reserve.
Beautiful spot. TFTC, another gold down but didn't find 20. I've lived in the greater Diamond Valley but never been in here before. I wonder when the farm land was resumed for the park, the buildings are not that old.
#2021 - 12.30pm
The river was riding high today.
Really high.
Even the swimming sign had nearly swim away!
Heymissjo and I had come for other business, it must be said, but she is a natural multitasker.
So, yet again, we broke the golden rule of hounding - Thou shalt only stop for virgin caches.
And this cache was no virgin.
But it was worth stopping by for a little fun.
I guess this was a more leisurely way of hounding today, lol.
Sometimes chasing the virgin log with the speed of glacier trying to escape global warming is effective.
Not often.
But sometimes...
Thanks so much, Gunks

What a beautiful part of the world! Definitely worth the hike out here. Nearby we went to sit and reflect and take in the river, but as we walked down the path, we weren’t even sure were able to sit nearby with the river up as high as what it is! The ‘swimming sign’ itself was swimming!
After a nearby faux pas… and a misunderstanding, The Welder realised that even though I had been pointing out where gunks cache’s were, I hadn’t actually found them… as we were suppose to be focused on the newly FTF multi… we were meant to remain incognito… but no.. It must be said, my partner The Welder walked here with his tail between his legs… what a hound! Not! Broken a golden rule…. Let’s just say, he got way too excited to see ‘gold in dem da hills’… alas maybe he is human after all. Thanks for another great cache! We will continue our hunt for the FTF anyway… shhhh

After a week of lockdown, and feeling pretty fed up, we used the extension of permitted exercise to 10km as an excuse to come here and find some 'gold'. These are roughly 6km away for us so we were unable to walk here during the previous lockdowns. We solved all of the puzzles during the first lockdown last year, and collected 12 of them in between lockdowns. After that, it was hard for us to get to this area because of the roadworks on Jumping Creek Rd. Today though, we were here and I'm so glad we came. This is my favourite of the three places we have been so far for 'gold'. Continuing along to the end of the track we found this one. Wow, it is so beautiful here. Thanks for placing and maintaining this series Gunks. This is the ninth for us today and the 21th overall. 14 to go. I had hoped to find two more while we were out here, but I didn't want to push it with the kids as their legs are getting very tired. Still a great day out. Will definitely be back, hopefully sooner this time, for the loop, the two more that are close (ish) to this one and the other clump.
Here I am back in one of my favourite state parks, to do a bit more of this gold series. What a beautiful wintry sunny day it is. Feels good to be alive.
What a beautiful long walk to this one. I love it.

I started this gold series a year ago and still haven't finished, which is slack given I live so close! Headed out this morning to find a few more ... such a great, quiet part of the park, just me and the roos! made the find and went to sit by the river ... looks so clean this morning I was tempted to have a sneaky skinny dip!! TFTC
We found this cache as number 11 of 12 on our Gold Diggers Warrandyte Tour Part III. Our penultimate cache for the and and our furthest point from the car for this trip. No ducking required to obtain this one. Thanks from D and HA B-A
It was about here that I pretty much knew that I'd be attempting to finish the series today (Really? Here? ) It was also about here that I was re-introduced to the myriad spider webs that I'd 'met' on previous golden treks. Anyway, the find at 15:35 was quick and I was on my way.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Gunks.

Seeing out the year with my first proper hike since before the roller coaster ride of restrictions... It's so good to be out. In all, ten klicks of trail walking for the evening.
Thanks, Gunks... had solutions for these caches straight after they were published, and have been anticipating a visit since. Well worth the wait.

Having finally discovered all seven Modern Wonders, I began the search for Seven Ancient Wonders.
Which, incidentally, is the name of a novel by my favourite Aussie author (and possibly favourite author full stop), Matthew Reilly. In the course of an action packed read, a team of heroes races to save the world while battling the forces of tyranny, finding the eponymous wonders (or what's left of them).
I decided that I'd log these seven finds in the same order.
The Statue of Zeus at Olympia:
The only Wonder that was genuinely revered.
"The god sits on a throne, and he is made of gold and ivory. On his head lies a garland which is a copy of olive shoots. In his right hand he carries a Victory, which, like the statue, is of ivory and gold; she wears a ribbon and—on her head—a garland. In the left hand of the god is a sceptre, ornamented with every kind of metal, and the bird sitting on the sceptre is the eagle. The sandals also of the god are of gold, as is likewise his robe. On the robe are embroidered figures of animals and the flowers of the lily. The throne is adorned with gold and with jewels, to say nothing of ebony and ivory. Upon it are painted figures and wrought images."
"The Statue of cuckolded Zeus,
Cronos' Son, the false deity.
While his statue was immense, his power was illusory.
No thunderbolts did he wield, no wrath did he bear,
No victory did he achieve.
Indeed, it was only the Victory in his right hand that made him great,
O winged woman, whither didst thou fly?"
To put the 12m statue of seated Zeus in perspective, the image of Nike in his right hand would be the size of a person.

Will have to come back as the kids were tired and it looked like it was on the other side of the river. Common sense said no it wasn't but and we decided to come back another day.

End of the line for this leg and a quick peek over the edge to see the river - looked fantastic!

Bingo bango! It’s GOLD of course. Can I forget? Also, YAPIDKA! Such a patch work park system. A few missions for the day include running - gotta get some fitness back and do enjoy exploring these parks. So this clutch of caches a bonus, partly so I can run rest run rest etc etc! Each GZ has been very accurate and along with the hint I had plenty of bingo bango moments. Melbs on care duty and luckily it’s close by so given it’s an almost sunny but cold summer day, the park beckons. Great spot. TFTC
Having a lovely time with echidna44,but the showers and wet long grass and higher vegetation soon meant we were quite wet. This didn’t dampen our enthusiasm and plan to complete this Gold series Thanks Gunks
Out with au.fait, we decided to complete the gold series in Warrandyte even though it had been raining heavily. We ended up with wet feet and knees from the long grass and dripping trees.
We walked to the end of the track to find a large kangaroo sitting staring at us, not intending to move. Then the heavens opened on us for 5 minutes, so we left it sitting there and went to find the cache.
Thanks Gunks.

I haven't come across one other person the whole day so far around this lovely area, and this was a particularly isolated part. It's a little snakey here and I was very careful, then found the cache quickly.

I was looking for a place that would be fairly quiet and removed that I had these solved puzzles. I hadn't been here before and as such seemed like a great day to visit. Glad it was supposed to be a cool day, as I still got dam warm hiking here.

Today had us back at Jumping Creek Reserve for our next dose of Gold. This series has been so good that we don't want them to end. We decided to have an early start and avoid the crowds.
A quick find. TFTC.

Almost done. Again no one around. Thanks for bringing me to this very quiet part of the park. Easy find again.
I don't think this secluded part of the park has many visitors. The birds were so trusting that a White-eared honeyeater settled briefly on my head. On my way to the cache I walked past a mob of around 30 Eastern grey kangaroos. All moved to let me through except a large buck who was reclining in the grass. I was hoping he wouldn't take puny me to be a threat as he would have won any confrontation. I'm approaching the end of this wonderful Gold series. Tftc.
I made looking for this one harder than what it needed to be. The river looks really high today. Thank you for showing me this part a part of the Warrandyte.
Getting back into the swing of this geocaching in the wild after Covid lockdown TFTC
Our first time doing the Mystery Cache. We came in real hot thinking we were going to get all 35 in one day. Started off really well, 10 caches in 2 hours. But i forgot to add some waypoints into the GPS which threw us off our groove.
GOLD #20 took us a solid 30 minutes before giving up and sending a message to Gunks. A quick reply saved the day along with Fleabags entry. The hint helps too, makes sense when you think about it.
Managed to get 13 today but we will be back for the rest soon enough. A great walk in a beautiful area. We had no idea that this area was so close to home.
Thanks Gunks.
GOLD #20 took us a solid 30 minutes before giving up and sending a message to Gunks. A quick reply saved the day along with Fleabags entry. The hint helps too, makes sense when you think about it.

It took me a few minutes to decide on the best approach to the GZ, but in the end it was very easy.

I haven't been out caching in AGES - its been about 5 months I think, but today was the day to get out there and find this series that was solved a while ago. It was a beautiful day today and I thoroughly enjoyed walking around this beautiful area - so good that it is now filled with this great series Thanks to gunks for creating these caches - so much work, thought and creativity has gone into this, and I massively appreciate it - I had such a great day. I was aiming to complete the series in 1 day but I ran out of sunlight, Ill be back soon to finish it off This series gets a massive fave from me and will get my vote for best series in the next Cache of the Year Awards. TFTC Gunks!

Annoying Tarbit and I headed out towards Warrandtye for a bush walk and hoping to find lots of gold along the way. It ended up being quite a big day in the end with all 35 Gold caches found and a few traditional caches thrown in for good measure. The best part was there were no DNFs (for a change).
This was the furthest part of the initial loop we did and nice to be walking down hill for a change! I was off looking in the wrong spot (again) and it was AT who came up with the find here. TFTC Gunks!

First time since lockdown that I arranged to meet someone else to have a day out caching. Lost_and_found_79 and I had planned some decent walking to tackle the Gold geoart series around Wonga Park. I had solved these not long after they were published but this was the first time I was able to head out and look for them. This was the outward point of our loop on this part of the walk. Spotted a likely place to search here and had the cache in hand before too long. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the puzzle, the cache and the series Gunks.
The grandkids solved these ones while being in lock up for school activity. Now it was a day to pick some up. This has bought us to an area that we have never walked before. Nice easy find. Thanks for the cache and the series Gunks, we are loving it .
Making our way along the second part of the loop before returning for lunch. Thanks for the find!
Took the bikes out for a good ride on this chilly Sunday. First piece of gold found pretty quickly in this beautiful area.
With another beautiful day forecast, what better way to spend it than looking for GOLD.
This was another one where we took a very convoluted way to get to it only to find a much quicker way out.
Thanks Gunks for bringing us to this magnificent area.
Chiefton!!!

We had solved this series of puzzles a few days ago and returned for our second day of searching for caches in this series. We thought that this area might be quiet and there would be little chance that we would be in contact with others. This time we headed est from the carpark. In the main the logs will be a little generic although I will note anything of interest for a given cache. Most caches we searched for were usually found quickly and the GPSRs were quite accurate.
Thanks to Gunks for this series

Out for a nice walk around the Park - one of the few things we can still do safely. Saw no-one on the walk but lots at the car park. Good place to have lunch down on the river bank.
Today was the third and final pass to complete the GOLD series (and a few nearby extras). I set out after lunch time from the picnic ground with the aim of picking the last 17.
I made good time, picking up #2, #3, #4, #7 and #10 relatively quickly as I had become accustomed to finding the precious nuggets. I found the clue allowing me to decode the coords for the final cache and continued on for a quick find of #14.
However, things came to a grinding halt once I hit #20. I searched for nearly 20min before finally spotting it. Coming across the "sheds" was rather unexpected as was the kangaroo skeleton on the mattress!
From here I went on to find #35 (final) - KACHING and a trackable! Along the way I crossed paths with a black snake and some giant fungi.
The next batch of #15, #13, #30 and #29 were nice and easy followed by a religious revelation at #12! Here I also think I had a quick chat to the telefreaks family who I suspect may have just signed the log a few minutes before I arrived, the first sign I'd seen of other cachers out and about for the day.
A deviation from the series led me to find the nearby Mercator's Ghost followed by #26, which took me much longer than average and then finished onto #25 after which my handheld GPS's battery died and then a quick find of the last one of the day, #21.
It was then a short walk back to the picnic ground and my mouth was watering after passing a few young blokes roasting a large cut of beef on a spit.
All in all, another fantastic afternoon hiking around the Warrandyte state park and completing the wonderful GOLD series. Thanks Gunks I loved the ingots!

Starting off at 9am this was a great day to clean up some more caches in this series. Jules6 and I made our way along the undulating paths easily, until later in the day, when the sun warmed up and the hills started to take their toll. I was pleased to make it back to the comfort of my car's A/C having completed our haul of 12 gold caches for the day. Thanks Gunks
So quiet around here, everything is so peaceful.

Back again with BonnyBlack to continue the Gold series . Having a good walk and no dnfs so far . Thanks Gunks .
Wow, what a great day. Knocked off all 35 of this series on foot (well mostly, I moved the car twice). Arrived at around 10 for the first lot (the souther ones) and enjoyed a walk around that area. Back at the car I drove to the next lot and parked in a tight spot. Thats when I noticed a familiar licence plate and messaged the owner (Rebel Acts) who was indeed out with Omegaman finding some in this area. My faster walking pace saw me catch up to them eventually and we enjoyed some caching together, before they ran out of caches and I had one to grab still in this area. So, jogging my way to the one I needed still I was still able to find it and meet them back at the car park before car move number 2.
Grabbing a few other caches we met some other cachers on the trails, it certainly was a great day for it. RA & OM and I enjoyed finding some caches, albeit it was a little slower than I am used to, but it was nice to have some company. Unfortunately at one stage OM had to retire hurt, but RA continued on with me until the very end, although the pace was getting slower, I still managed to nab every one of them in the day. Very happy with that achievement.
Messaging my usual caching companion on my way home, she was a little bored so I dropped by her place and we went out and found 7 more before calling it a day, so one big day out caching for me. Thanks for all the caches, all found with great co ordinates and all log books in excellent condition. A great series of caches. TFTC!

I was on leave so I messaged Omegaman1971 to see if he wanted to go caching, I had to head to the area to take My Mum home so We decided to continue searching the hills for gold, we were soon joined by Day1976 who was in the area, I managed to get all but one finished today, I have to say the legs were real sore by the end. We also came across Spiffy and Flebag on there extreme bikes. I appreciate the effort made with this series.
Thanks Gunks for the cache.

When these were all published I was way down on the Flinders foreshore at a CITO event but had a quick look and worked out mostly what was required but put them on the backburner for a little while since I was no chance for any first to finds. A few days later though I had them all solved and was ready for a road trip.
So today with the weather cloudy and cool we headed out with both the bikes on the back of the ute and the last speed bump into the main car park caused one of the bikes to nearly fall off but all good after that.
We rode around and collected the whole series in one go today and once I got back to the car the bike only had 6% battery left from all those hills and super tight hilly tracks draining the life out of it. The iPhone 11 fared much better, it still had 50% battery left.
At the end of the ride with a lot of scratches and one bull ant bite it was a very fun and satifying trip. A couple of them were quite tricky to ride within 25-30m or so but we managed it ... you have to maximise your laziness to override the lack of fitness you see.
At one point we met Rebel Acts, Omegaman1971 & day1976 on our travels but never saw them again after that. We started at the north end first and they started at the south. Just a tip for future players ... start south, you will work out why later. Wasn't a huge drama but we had a couple of extra rides to do backtracking over already covered territory by starting north.
An awesome series with an lot of effort put in to all those containers and hides.
Thanks Gunks for the caches, the puzzles, the hunts and a really fun day out.

I lived in East Doncaster very close to Warrandyte for 26 years and even went to Warrandyte High school. But back then Geocaching was non existent and I didn't explore the area very much. The Warrandyte tunnel is always an interesting place to visit and now I am also chasing gold in the town.
Geobuddy Spiffy- and I had this series, plus another random cache in this area. With no real plan on how to best tackle these we took our Stealth Electric bikes and off we went. The hils sure sucked down the battery and some fallen trees and steps made for a tough terrain, but all in all we found lots of "Gold".
The effort on the containers was brilliant - very much appreciated. I did get caught out a bit when putting the log book "container" back into the cammo only to have it fall back out the other end.
Thanks Gunks for an awesome series.

Our fourth crack at this great series and we focused on a specific stretch of river. This was the eighth of nine on our list for the morning and about as far from the car as we planned to walk. Easy find as the cockatoos screeched. Tftc

Chipping away at the gold in the area, mining our way towards a complete treasure chest. Today was on bike. Some trails easy, some a little tricky. A bit of bush-bashing too. Apologies for the copy-paste logs, but I’m getting too far behind with logs.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, Gunks

We had just headed down from looking at the previous cache that did not reveal itself to us. After we spotted the very dead roo on the bed the geokid freaked out and insisted we move to the next cache. As we arrived at gz the geokid screamed! Out of the bushes bounded a rogue roo. Luckily the cache was quickly located and we were on our way. As we headed to the next cache we had a lively discussion about whether the dead roo on the bed is this live roo's ancestor!

Unfortunately after my first luck find I discovered all others I visited were signed but not logged but was a wonderful walk all the same and I will be back at more respectable hours to explore the area more

Snake
Not that B1 worries about these little creatures because of one particular fact. Water off a duck's back.
But B2 saw the slithering beast first, and panicked. Called out to B2 who gently looked down and watched it slide away from their feet.
It is where snakes live and today the bananas were visiting. Like good visitors, we watched and let this host go about its normal duties.
It was a beige coloured snake about 5 feet long. To B1, beige is not a threatening colour.
Anyway eventually B2 calmed down and onward to more Gold.
This is a lovely park. And B2 has a story to tell.
And as for that fact.... Long pants
