Despite only having coordinates and no clue available (due to my own actions of foolishly not downloading the caches properly!) this was a quick and easy find. Awesome track and not too busy despite the large amount of cars both ends. Great day for it too! TFTC
Enjoying this bike ride in perfect weather, a group of seven of us, all on e-MTBs. Thanks GSEL for this Smurf series.
I discovered the derelict Hut site here too. Nice to find this on my bike ride, a lovely day for it.
This morning I went on a bike ride from the loop road over Goat Rock Road onto the Incline trail, over to the Cross Creek carpark and back. There was a bit of a southerly today - it made the 'swing' part of the swing bridge rather small - not like last time in the strong northerly when the swing part was huge. Quite nerve wracking in fact.
I didn't see the geotrail initially and I nearly gave this a miss because of the blackberry. But the geotrail (once I spotted it) was nicely clear of the nasty stuff and it was a nice easy find. TFTC

Switched tracks from the Rail Trail to the geotrail Quick find of Poker Smurf, cheers Papa Smurf!
Neat find on our way back down to Cross Creek. A bit busy around here earlier in the day. Many thanks
Amazing weather for our bike ride there and back today. Even had a tail wind home. Really enjoyed the historical information. Really enjoying the smurfs too - earns a fav from us. Cache is all good. TFTC
This was the next cache on our list for the day. Once we waited for some muggle bikers to pass we began our search and it wasn't long before Mrs Sherlock called out that she had found it. I remember collecting these smurfs from petrol stations as a kid. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next geo-hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC
Nice find with woolwood9 on a quick trip away finding some geocaches.
No problem with the find here, track recently cleared but not effecting cache location.

With good weather at last I came for a day's caching in the Wairarapa, starting off with a bike ride to score three unfound caches along here. No problems here, a quick in the second place checked. All in good condition. Signed log, TFTC.
I got it into my head that the smurf would be a biker one and thought how appropriate it was that the cache was placed along this trail. So, I was a little surprised to see it was a poker player instead. I guess it's not so easier to find a location to fit with that theme.
Coming up here to grab some caches seemed like a great idea this morning as I felt no one would be around on a grey Thursday. However, by the time I got to here from the Wairarapa car park I had already seen five other users, one more shot past as I was signing this log and I eventually saw around 20 walkers and bikers between the carpark and summit.
I loved the cache container here. When the smurfs first came out our family had the entire set, but I have no idea what ever happened to them.
Cache in good shape TFTC

Picking up the new caches placed on the Featherston side of the incline. tftc and a quick find
I got there first but a false geo trail sent me in the wrong direction
we are out trying our mt bikes out and what better place than the Remutaka rail trail.
This area is so full of rail way history an the things people did many years ago just to help the wheels of the industry to keep going around
many thanks

Had a phone call from 2Bulbars earlier in the week wanting to head back into the remutaka's area and start from the fear
featherston side so here we are and no rain insight yay good ride up had lunch at the summit then headed around the backroad which at the mega we only found this road by mistake so have been keen to come back and of course pick up the few caches around this way.
Quick find here thanks for the placement and the smiley.
discovered the trackable here today

Day 3 of lock down and I am logging caches from the previous weeks.... found this while out chasing goats with fanfan-77 in the area. TFTC
#11,697. A good hike on the Cross Creek Road in Rimutaka Forest Park on Waitangi Day. Came across a good number of mountain bikers too. Also met a German guy who was walking around the world with his hand-drawn trailer in tow, now traversing our little country. GZ itself was all quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

Waitangi Day. No work on a Thursday!
Sveppi and I moved to Porirua 18 months ago and have been exploring the area ever since. We took up hunting last Easter and Cross Creek has become our regular day hunting ground, chasing goats. We spent a lot of time figuring this place out, and learning our new skills, but lately we started having some success.
Before we left this morning I noticed some new geocaches so I loaded them on the GPS. It was hot and sunny today with swirling light winds. After a few back and forth on and off track, coming across walkers, bikers, and other hunters on the track, we had a massive bush-bash where we finally manage to get a couple of kilos of meat for the slow cooker. We came off the hill close to this cache so I grabbed it while we rested, glad to be out of the scrub.
I picked up a TB on Stewart Island at New Year's so it was time I took the time to drop it off!

After failing to find another new cache further down this one proved much less elusive. As always happens with caches located like this there is a much quicker and obvious path back to the track than the route I took to get to it. Not much a story to tell here so I'll just say TFTC.
FTF @ 0725 am
I was staying near Cross Creek for a few days before New Year Publication notices for three new caches up the Rail Trail were sitting around for 12 hours before I noticed I checked next morning and still no FTF's Being so close I could not resist having a crack so early breakfast and got #1 by 7am The remaining two followed during the next hour Great After almost 4 years I now have 4 FTF's! So lovely morning nice cool shade and all down hill now back to the car Three people coming up the hill What can they be up to? When the cheery call came up the trail I knew there was only one possible candidate Yes the usual culprit on his FTF crusades Yeetrees and also Mrs Y and Ethness I invited them all for a cup of tea at my place so I think I was forgiven for being just a few minutes in front today
Thanks GSEL I don't normally get up at this hour!

Onwards and upwards we went enjoying the view of the hills covered in kānuka flowers. I tried one geocache trail with no luck!! The other in was the one. TFTC.

Was at home taking some annual leave as work has asked me to take some extra leave as I have far too much leave owning, so instead of working though these quiet holidays, I ended up doing a few long forgotten chores around home.
Was in Petone getting supplies when I got a text from Ethness asking me if I was interested in coming over to the Wairarapa for the 3 new FTF caches, well as I was currently doing some shopping at that stage there was no way that I was going to be able to do so, and I also had other things planned for the rest of the day. I asked Ethness to contact Mrs Yeetrees and make arrangements, and when I finally got back home with my supplies, I discussed with Mrs Yeetrees in regards of going for a walk and she was happy to do so, I said that it would be approximately 4K
After finding GC8HAX0 - PBBP5 - Remutaka Rail Trail, it was time to continue on our walk to the 2nd of 3 caches that we had planned to come in and get today. Even though I knew the FTF had more than likely gone, I wanted to carry on so that I would complete and clear up this area again as I had previous done.
After finally making it to Cross Creek Station, it was just a matter of taking a left turn and making our way to the next cache that wasnt too far away, as we neared GZ, I read the hint and decided that I would let my GPSr show the way to GZ, as it slowly counted down and I was soon within 6 metres of GZ and soon spotted the likely hint object and once I started making my way up the bank, I soon spotted the second hint and soon spotted something and upon a closer look I realised it was the cache.
Managed to retrieve the cache, and opened to find that the FTF had gone but we were starting to get a bit closer, 39 minutes and 17 seconds now,[xx(] signed the logsheet and then it was time to return the cache back to where we got it from. Thanks GSEL for placing this extra few caches here and for bringing us to this spot. TFTC TNLNSL (15067).
Now it is time to start making our way to the last of the caches that I was after today......
