Found it TFTC Found in good condition. Well that had us scratching our heads until we realised that we were measuring the wrong "rope" attached to the wrong "drum" . Its actually a chain holding the drum, and the local TOTT was just the step up we needed
Great spot for a multi !!!Gathered all the required info, some educated guessing required due to the deteriorating sign, but all good in the end, clever hide, had us going round in circles for awhile before more consideration was undertaken from the hint, TFTC BenM70
We stopped by here to take care of the necessary chores required for a few days away from civilisation in our caravan and afterwards I collected up the information needed for this multi. When I got to GZ, it wasn't until I read a few previous logs that I actually worked out where the hide was! Clever!
A favorite point because you nearly beat us with this hide!
Thanks for find #4773

Sadly not today, did not find at 1:43 pm
Departed Melbourne several weeks ago now and have been travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully ), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel.
Finally made the northern warmth and the Cape and we have loved every minute of it now we are on our way home again and having many more adventures as we slowly travel south.
Spending a few extra days in Townsville now due to a cracked chassis and tow bar mount, due to get fixed this week before we can move on again.
Out on a day trip today heading from Townsville to Charters Towers and back grabbing caches here there and everywhere
Arrived at GZ hot on the heals of O319 and SJG66 so we were spared the need to find the prize as it was already open, therefore this was a quick log
I'm sure that I found the hide but I had no tools that would allow me to access the log sheet
**Thanks for placing this cache BenM70**

The sign is very difficult to read, but we worked it out in the end. Love the attention to detail on the log container. TFTC

On our day out in Charters Towers we headed to this location. Now the hardest part of this one was that it was guarded by some large stinging muggles. So whilst trying not to upset the crowd. I gently manooved around GZ as quietly as I could locating the treasure. Such an interesting and educating location about the local mining industry. TFTC.
found on our yorke to york trip.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 80. Charters Towers to Townsville. Today after a relaxed start, I began my journey to Townsville by stopping at the gold mine multi for one last look, then on the road. Plenty of roadside stops and a few a bit further away for a slow drive that was interesting and good fun. except one DNF.
I worked out all the numbers for this except one yesterday, but could not b too active going for a look as a camper was set up in his bus in the car park just watching, and another fellow parked his car over the road watching as well. I am sure they were both doing other things, but I chose to move on. This morning there were only caravaners washing their vans at the dump point tap. I needed my full on tool to get to this one, I really need to grow a bit, but at least it was where I thought it would be.
Thanks for the cache BenM70

Today we were driving further afield, doing the TTHS series of caches, and then a few wider out on the return trip.
Grabbed a little local boost for this one today. All good.
Thanks BenM70 for the caches.

Total Cache Finds 12965,
We was not sure if we would be allowed to get tott out here .. we are traveling through town ,only staying a few days.. Couldn't let the smile go.. Gotcha..
Last day in town before heading South. Collected the numbers a few days ago and puched them in. Back to collect the prize. This one definitely needed a tott. T4T$ FP awarded
We are so glad we stopped at this location. Plenty to read here, and certainly a lot to see. We enjoyed it all at this multi gave us the opportunity to really look at the history in a bit greater depth.
With the numbers crunched, we found a likely spot, and with a little ingenuity, soon had our name added to the log book.
Thanks BenM70. A great multi and hide.

Quick visit with AtTheLakeHouse. Nice and easy find after doing the morning gymnastics
Loved this!! I’m not a big fan of mining itself, but I do love history. And I love caches that highlight it even more. So charters towers was a must visit for me, and so was this multi. Love the GZ too. Even though I’ve seen a couple of these already, each is different and the questions served as the local education. My fav for the day so I better give it an FP (if I’ve got any left)

Like all geocachers, I’m taking the scenic, slow route to Townsville. Along the way we detoured for, amongst many others, this geocache.
I really enjoyed this one. It was hard to read the signs, but I was able to work things out. A favourite point.
Thanks for placing the cache BenM70, without hiders the game wouldn’t exist.

**This Cache:**
Fantastic location! I really struggled with this multi though, but I was so drawn to this location that I persisted!
Firstly, obtaining the information provided a few challenges. I struggled a bit with finding the answers to a couple of the questions but that was all part of the fun and meant I got to really explore this spot.
Then came the cache, wow that was a tricky find! It could really be in many spots with the terrain and coordinates it had. I started looking in a few spots with no luck. I then got very interested in one spot, but despite a thorough search I couldn't find anything. I continued coming back to that same spot, over and over again. Until eventually I realised the cache really was there! It was just placed so well that it was really hiding away from me!
I was pretty excited when I finally had the cache and logbook in hand, that was cool. A favourite point from me for the challenge.
OH AND TRY USING THE BUBBLER AT WP1. I couldn't stop laughing, please it is the craziest water bubbler I have ever witnessed in my life, you won't regret it

**Today:**
Day 5 of my road trip from Canberra - Townsville Mega Event!
Today was laid back, I had made excellent time and only needed to get from Pentland - Townsville! I spent almost the entire day in Charters Towers! I initially only had a couple of caches planned, but I fell in love with the caching and town itself and ended up spending all the time I could until I had to be in Townsville to meet someone at the airport!
Wow, caching in Charters Towers was just fantastic, super high quality hides and a very cool town with lots to see. It was a highlight of my trip!

Coongoola & Geodog are on an adventure travelling to the Townsville event in Qld. Love the goldust. We found your cache today, 5 April 2022 11:20 am , while enjoying another day out adding to our tally. TFTC BenM70
After a visit to our fav cafe in CT we came to look for gold. And this place has gold... enough to give you gold fever. Found the numbers needed but wasn't impressed with them. It helped when we realised we should check the questions again. Loved the location and the final. Our apologies for inadvertently taking a few specs... TFTC BenM70, FP!
On our way back down south from Cairns heading to Cunnamulla for QOGM then to Sth Australia, Then WA then back to Cairns June 2022. 8 September 2021 3:42 pm Tyfc BenM70 total caches now 2312, finally got it, thanks Ben.
That's it! Whilst Uwe was filling up our caravan with water, I looked at the questions and searched for the answers. Very determined to get another Multi.
Yes, asking a guy what is a gear top bracket... He didn't know... But I found what was needed.
Made the calculations, Uwe came and I spotted that beast.
We had a beautiful time in Charters Towers and met lovely people. We found more caches than we thought - also thanks to the event organisers and participants.
We had only one DNF and one Multi where the locating of the cache was just in a too crowded mugglers area.
Thanks to all COs in this area!

We stopped here to fill up with water, and I realised that this multi was at my fingertips. The facts were gathered and the coordinates sorted. GZ was a surprise and I was a bit dismayed as I am a very short person. Fortunately muggle husband came to the rescue, armed with a TOTT. The cache was retrieved and the log signed. Love being back in Charters Towers.
I found it! I needed the tool that I had bought specially for this cache, but, it was not enough and I had to employ the help of another cacher. Ha Ha the gold was found. A Favourite for me. TFTC.
I believe I solved the co ords for this one, however I need to come back with something to help a vertically challenged old lady! I will be back. TFTC.
Came across this location a few times but never had the time to do it. Was great exploring this historical construct a bit closer and we struck gold in the end.
Woohoo, finally all the right pieces fell into place with access, timing and muggles. A favourite point for this one. Many thanks BenM70.
Thanks GeocachingMegaMind for the cache! This was great, fun to find and figure out the puzzle #BenM70forPM. Found with Greencordial even tho she already found it.

A very nice multi we managed to collect the data we needed to make the agreeably hidden cache. Fav point and thanks to BenM70.
Day 18 of my trip north from Adelaide.
Today was spent caching and sightseeing around Charters Towers. I had picked out the multis, puzzles, wherigos and traditional caches that I was keen to do and picked ip a few other opportunistic traditional caches along the way. I also completed the new Lab caches in town.
All in all it was as a very pleasant day, with a cool morning and a relatively mild day, which made things much easier and more enjoyable. In all I managed to find 7 puzzles, 9 multis, 3 wherigos, 12 traditionals and an earthcache for a total of 32?caches for the day ples the Lab caches). I only had one DNF.
I wandered around the various pieces of machinery collecting the information and soon calculated the final coordinates. I had to stand on tippy toes to reach the container, which was in good condition.
Thanks.BenM70 for the cache.

Charters Towers.
For the last 2 days we have covered the four corners of the region.
We have found such a good variety of caches in some incredible locations, this has been a wonderful way to tour the town.
Had to confirm my final with the CO. I was over thinking some of the questions.
This was a great place to have this multi, lots to look at.
The final location was spot on & a well themed cache container.

BlackPearl and I were drawn back to the Towers by the influx of new caches 2 years since our last visit.
Thankfully I couldn’t solve this one online in prep for the trip as we enjoyed exploring the site and collecting the answers.
Interesting site and a well themed final. My kind of hide.
Have a favourite point Ben. Cheers.

Worked out the numbers last weekend and spotted the cache. All that glitters may not be gold? Out and about with various attitudinal tools ... took the chance for a retrieve between the sparse traffic. Could well be the third cache we have found at this location over the years! Thanks for another local cache and informative multi BenM70.
A nice quick night find with the visiting nephew, glad he is visiting and willing to help out.
had found a cahe nearby in this area years ago, great to see another one here, its an interesting piece of equipment.
