Finally remembered to put my wellies in the car so I could grab this cache. Waded across the stream and then spent a while wandering up and down examining every hint item. In the end, I found the cache hiding under some nasty cutty grass. I presumed that cache creep had occurred so, after signing the log, I replaced the cache a small distance away but more in keeping with the hint. TFTC.

I very much love getting to visit the South Island. Until recently it wasn't something I got to do very often, but in the last year I've managed a series of mini-trips for geocaching, and here we are at the start of 2024 with another one. Just like my first SI trip in 2023, I've come to Christchurch to target a few specific caches to help with my Jasmer Grid, and qualification for a few challenges I'm currently working on.This is Day 4, my last day before catching my flight back to Wellington this evening. There's still 2 hours before I have to return my rental car to the airport, so having said my farewells to my host for the weekend, ThatDarnBear, I decided that the best way to spend 2 hours was to go look for some caches. This was one I had targeted as it would help me with my qualification for GC30AD8 DGSc Challenge.Getting to GZ ended up being very simple indeed, but then followed 15 minutes of frustration looking under every single tree/bush/plant within 15 metres of where the cache was supposed to be. Sorry to say that I left empty handed.

Took a while to get to actual gz with the river in the way but quick find. TFTC!

Visited a relative in the neighboring retirement village, and then jumped the fence and was right on gz with no wet feet. Quick easy find, then the challenge of getting back out without soaking myself. Mobbed by hopeful ducks on my way, it turned out that with a bit of bush adventuring I could make it back along the bank and to civilization without wading. Tftc!

Thank you !

Walked up and down a few times to find the easiest way and also wait for a muggle gap. Success in both and dry feet. No guests in the hotel sadly.

#20583. I'd had a look for this one on a scouting mission some time back, and came up empty handed. After that I got a pointer from someone who had found the cache, and today came back with Troodles to make the find. I found some stepping stones to get my across the stream with dry feet, and it didn't take too long to locate the cache. TFTC.

This is one of the closest to home unfound caches, so about time we turned the icon into a smile. After dinner seemed like a good time as we assumed the elderly neighbours at GZ wouldn't be out and about at that time.
There were a few spots of rain as we left home, and the skies looked a bit ominous, but luckily the rain held off while we were at GZ. This also kept the muggle factor low Razz.
StreetWalkerNZ did the searching while I relayed helpful instructions. First spot checked didn't yield the cache, but in the second spot, it was quickly revealed. TFTC.

Not often when visiting the Pub, that you have to walk through a creek!!. We also talked to a very friendly elderly pair out for their constitutional and had to explain, caching!!!So it was quite a relief to find the container. Nicely presented and quite a different find for a change. Thank you BW.

Found on a dog walk.
Enjoyed this one. Always cool to find ones where you have to think "Ānd how do you get there!?"
Found a jumpable spot, made the jump, feet dry. Thought dogo will just wade but she mustered up a big jump too and also kept the feet dry Very Happy
Looking at the logbook I got confused. trifolia argentea's log said they found it on 29th Feb. But today is only 25th! And there is no 29 anyway! They must have miswritten! Entry before from 24th, so that seems right. Took me a bit to realize, their log is almost exactly a year ago. Feb 29 but 2020!! Wow, so this cache has been sitting here unvisited for almost a year!
Although I see another log online after that but didn't see it in the logbook.

Decided to go back a different route and see if it's possible to just walk out to Lady Isaac Way. It is. kind of. Last 25m is bushbashing though. Better off jumping.

Also, the Henry Bee trackable, placed by TA, was not there.

Kia ora! Paldies!

We were a bit puzzled at first, looking in the wrong places, until we realised that the hint item was a small specimen. We left a TB to occupy this TB hotel: whoever collects the Henry Bee TB should note that it wants to make it home to Rhode Island, USA this year; so after some journeys, placing it near an airport might help it in the right direction. TFTC Brodiewill!

Kept on looking around the wrong hint so changed my approach and got to the correct hint item. This is the second pair of wet feet for the day. TFTH

Hmm. I only hope this one lasts. Got to GZ and no-one was around. Started looking and within seconds there was a muggle on his balcony, watching. There wasn't much I could do at this point so I gave him a little wave and moved down to a different tree to throw him off.
After that I didn't want to give it a decent look (he'd moved off the balcony but was still watching from just inside his door).
Fingers crossed he doesn't investigate!

P donned his gumboots and braved the water. He almost got his socks wet. After a bit of toing and froing he found the cache. Unseen we think. TFTC

#3,633: FTF@6:41pm!!
Woo hoo! Back from Japan, and back to the FTF fun! I was just finishing up vacuuming when I chanced to check the phone, and saw there had been some activity -- 14 minutes ago. GeoFamily away, so nothing stopping me. Grabbed my gear and headed out to the nearest one. Sussed out that I could get across the water with only taking one shoe off, and managed to do so. Started in searching, and after some time, changed my tack and made the find. Not quite "GL" as the hint says. Dropped off four TBs that I had picked up recently. Sorry for the late logging, but I was busy trying for the others.
SL/TFTC!!
