Logs
The tree has unfortunately been chopped down we didn't look but we assume it gone. Tftc
Down from Whangarei for a few days, so just had to make sure to grab a few caches whilst down here.Spent several minutes here, without any luck. Not sure whether it was hidden in the hedge, which is very thick, or one of the nearby trees that no longer exist .. ??? Thx anyway.
Looks like the logging has removed the log/tree and the cache. I have a photo of the area if the CO wants to see.
I wasn't sure if it was still there as a lot of work was being done, but cache found TFTC
Possibly has been more exposed by recent logging, quick and easy find! Thanks
There's been some forestry work done was a bit concerned but found with ifyasmell cheers
Easy find - Im guessing its been replaces somewhere along the line because description no longer fits but its very easy to find at coordinates
Very Happy to get rid of the blue frown here. Took a different approach and managed to get much closer than previously. Thanks for this cache brodiewill.
Found this one on my second attempt. Was barking up the wrong tree last time. TFTC
The coordinates, description, and hint are each doing their own thing here.
Took a few moments to find and it seems to be a brand new cache container and I was first to sign the new logbook
Didn't hold out much hope for this one after a few DNF. but was the quickest find today
log to follow - I'm writing this to get my numbers up to date before a big caching day out tomorrow 15th April - especially as find #5,000 is in clear view I want to keep accurate track of my numbers.
came saw area but Didn't really bother searching- was on a mission to finish the ad lab and get to bus

Couldn’t find the cache in or around any of the trees near gz. Did find this rogue zip tie in the hedge though which may indicate it’s been muggled
I think tried hard enough. I don’t see anything. The hint has me looking one way and the description has me looking the other.
We were over this way and remembered there was a Cache here.So under the fence we crawed. It didn't take long to spot But we were absolutley shocked and discusted at the huge amout of Household Rubbish that was dumped along the line of trees.
But thanks for the Cache, and another Smiley Face.
But thanks for the Cache, and another Smiley Face.
I found a round about way into the area that didn't involve a fence (woot) and then found the fence on the way out. Ooomph, over goes the bike and off we go! Cheers
When we got there we were a bit worried about how to get through the fence. We are two less than agile semi-old ladies and although the bottom wire was high enough to go under it would not be in a very gainly fashion. Beeba got under and back on her feet again when I discovered that I could get around the end post. We soon found the cache and signed the log. On the way back we both went my easy way. LOL.
Looked for this ages ago when things were topsy turvy in the area. Nice quick find this time.

A nice easy find on this lovely (almost) Spring day
Cache was really visible so I tried to turn it away so it's a bit less obvious
Thanks Brodiewill for placing, maintaining and replacing your caches on this/my side of town

TFTC. A pleasant lunchtime wander in the sunshine.
Thanks for placing the cache.
Thanks for placing the cache.
A quick find as I stopped to visit nearby family members.
Thank for placing this cache.
Thank for placing this cache.
I was so sure with the combination of D and T I was going to be tree climbing. Was so very disappointed when I spotted the cache was retrievable with my feet planted firmly on the ground.

The trees have all been cut down, the fence has gone and there is a bark garden there now. I think the hiding place has gone?

FITW GreenMenace
Found on a dog walk.
Houston, we have a problem: one of our rocket's legs broke off, we can't land anymore! Instead we will remain forever suspended in a tree.
Had never been to Avon Park before. Line of logs still there but the cache is not in a log. CO, please update the description/hint.

With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
Apologies for some very late logging... We are down to our last few hours in Christchurch, so let's squeeze a little bit more fun out of this adventure. We opted for another visit through the Red Zone... We were temporarily sidetracked as we tried to interpret the hints. Luckily, the photo in the description helped to put things right - A good find in the end. Thanks brodiewill and TFTC.

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with EyeSpyBen we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region

Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
Found with my six year old son. We were on the wrong side of the fence for a start. Didn't help. The photo did! Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros). Find # 2391
We really tried to make this difficult and after a false start and then a heads up, we found it sooo easily!!!Love these containers, they make retrieval so quick and they are waterproof. Thanks BW
Found by junior cacher on a bike ride along the Avon. Last few logs helped us a lot. Tftc, cool container!
I needed to find 6 caches today, in my personal challenge, to bring my finds total for the 24th August up to 26 and thus into a deeper shade of green on GC's Statistic Daily Finds Calendar.
The Christchurch Red Zone looked like providing the best place to achieve my mission. In order to get a bit of exercise whilst I cached I parked up the cachemobile in Marshland and jumped on my bike and rode into the Red Zone.
I had DNF'd this cache back in January. Looking through my unfounds last night I noted that one of the latest logs mentioned a spoiler photo. Further reading revealed that the cache was now in a new location. So, I added the cache to today's target list. It turned out that I was glad that I had copied the spoiler photo and brought it with me. [^] That's it - 6 caches sought,, 6 caches found. Time now to return home. Cheers BW.

Out finding a few caches after lunch with Monsonclan and Warfi. Warfi had already found this one. Thanks Brodiewill for creating this hide. It was find 8846 for me.

Took a while to find this one as I used the cache description and hint, and spent ages looking around all the logs. Once I looked at the spoiler photo it was a quick find. TFTC.
Out with daughter for a few caches. Took a while and I still don't know what the hint means. TFTC!
Out for the day caching with mum to clear out the map a bit before the event this evening.
TFTC!!
Please excuse all the generic - ish logs. Am super behind in my logging, and will otherwise never catch up !!

The coordinates seemed a little off. However, with the helpful photo the cache was quickly found. (The hint has not been updated; so future hunters note - ignore that and use the photo!) TFTC!

Nope, not for us today. We found a line of stumps, and signs of a hiding place in one of them at the approximate location of the original coordinates. Nothing we could locate at the updated coordinates.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a warm Saturday afternoon jaunt around the Linwood / Wainoni area to polish of unfound caches in the area. Eleven looked for and eleven found , always good to have just smiles. All brodiewill caches, and I really appreciate the effort you put into your hides.
It pays to read the cache description, as we approached from the red zone, upping the terrain level somewhat as we had to hurdle the fence. It was only after realising we couldn't see the line of logs that SW spotted the hole in the fence to the park next door . Once on the other side of the fence, the line and then the cache, were soon located.
This will be a good place to return to in the not too distant future as there is at least one apple tree plus a grapevine laden with grapes just a few metres away in the red zone. TFTC.
