With holiday season here we headed down to Phillip Island this year and booked quite late so we had a really expensive AirBnB miles from the beach. It was nice to come to the island though because I haven't been here since I was a kid. Weather was great for nearly the whole time we were here which was awesome.
Finally events are back and it was nice to hear everyone's stories before heading over to find the 2 nearby trads.
Thanks surefoot24 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

After a late night, and a few jobs that needed doing that all started late, we weren't sure if we were going to make it. Got to the event just before the half way mark and missed a number of people's stories and introductions. However glad we did get there, as I got to tell one of my early morning FTF hunts GC79JFE and Marvel got to meet everyone and make friends with 2 other GeoDogs. Great catching up with some new and old faces.

Thanks for hosting the event Sure Foot 24, and making it a new icon for us.

Thanks for the event, not really into telling stories, I just like to go caching. My highlight of the event was finally getting to meet Manfred who I have been seeing pics of since Bec first got him, He welcomed Me like a long lost pal.

Thanks for the event.

I made a last minute decision to attend this event and headed down the South Gippy HWY in light traffic. A good number of people were already in attendance when I arrived. A very good turnout and some interesting stories were told.

A great turnout of nearly 30 attendees in perfect weather and plenty of space to spread out and maintain COVID-19 safe distancing. Plenty of shade made it easy to spread out and move around. We heard some good geocaching stories from lots of geocaching experience. I was pleased to see a few people I hadn’t met before or often and a few long term cachers who hadn’t done much caching recently. Altogether a great time was had.

01-Jan-21
Starting the new year with a nice event to get things going is always a good idea. Nice to hear from most cachers their experiences which is what we nearly always talk about at events.
Thanks Elizabeth for organising a great event once again.

01-Jan-21
Didn't make it as geo-spouse broke her ankle caching on the Ballarat Skipton Rail Trail and is still in hospital. Happy New Year!

01-Jan-21
Great 'event' to welcome in the New Year at what turned out to be a very nice destination and perfect weather. Actually got to meet new geobuddies and to put some recurring names to faces. Along with sharing stories, picking up a few more geo related hints and strategies is a an appreciated bonus. Wandered over to the nearby caches including an evil one under the bridge - when you are on the shorter side of life a group effort does more than sustain camaraderie! Thanks to Surefoot24 for organising a welcome to 2021.

Lovely to see them but some of them are new. I just came for 15 minutes. Difficult to communciation with them.
Thanks surefoot24 for organised this Community Celbration Event.

What better way to start the new year than with a new cache type?
I was excited to see this Community Celebration Event on the map and buhfuhguh and I made a day of it, kicking things off at 8am (an interesting decision on my part, considering that I'd stayed up for the fireworks and gone to bed at 1am) and enjoying a big day of caching before this event at 2pm.
There were plenty of attendees at the event, including three absolutely adorable dogs (not least Manfred who was happy to cuddle with me for a bit).
Some entertaining stories (alongside equally as entertaining storytelling declinations) were shared and it was fantastic to hear the tales of so many wonderful cachers throughout the afternoon!
Thanks to surefoot24 for hosting this Community Celebration Event!

01/01/2021 - 2.25pm - 1st & only find for the day.
NGS was kind & was my chauffeur again today. This was the fourth geocaching trip I have been on & fourth that has been more than 1.5km from home since Covid-19 working from home started for me on 17th March! The weather was suprisingly warm, we had had a good thunder storm earlier in the day so thought the location might have been awash ... turns out that we were 'lucky' to get the rain/storm so we were pleasantly surprised it was warm/hot & quite dry.
It was lovely to catch up with everyone today, some who had attended the event on previous day with quite a few more this time. A lot of chat & some stories were exchanged.
Congrats to Zoe for getting the FTF prize. It was lovely to meet our OS visitors again & others. We sloped off before the end of the event so didn't get to see any later attendees.
Thanks for event Elizabeth Big GrinWink

First find of this style of event, as I am sure it is for many. After picking up several caches as I headed down on this lovely day with Brainiac03.
Whilst driving down he mentioned that there were 2 trads near the event to which I had completely forgot existed to be completely honest. So upon arriving a little early he scurried off and did those.

Seeing many familiar faces in fact seeing other humans was a nice change of pace after the past year. Either way thanks for the event.

01-Jan-21
Attended with PapaGrouch. Met some people again who we saw yesterday, and met some new people too. Good to be able to put some more faces to names. Lovely shady spot to spend a couple of hours, where did that time go to, it didn't seem that long. Found a couple of nearby traditionals while there and then a couple more caches on the way home. Thanks for organising the event surefoot24.
