Took a little while but we got there. Stayed the night here last night and only realised there was a cache as we were leaving. Headed to the virtual art installation first, had a lovely walk then gathered this on the way back. Thank you x
After picking up the cache at Paradise I decided to drive the motorhome to Kinloch. After locating the other cache nearby, I went after this one. It took me a little while to spot it! Landed up staying the night at the DOC campsite. Great spot and very scenic! #7347. TFTC.
Found!Fun playing in the library!(Tiny) Log signed. Thanks for the placement and upkeep of this cache. Such a beautiful part of the world.
A fair bit of cache creep had taken place so I have returned the container to where it should be and have updated the hint to hopefully make sure they container stays in the right spot. Please be mindful of NOT replacing the cache too high, as there are a number of us who are vertically challenged!
Have been parked up at this lovely DOC Camp at Kinloch. Found but is quite high for shorties TFTC
Doing day walks in the area this week. Enjoying the scenery and having some time out. On the return trip after walking the Lake Rere loop track grabbed this one. Some of my fellow trampers were intrigued by the idea of this sport. Could have a couple of new members signing up soon. When I knew what type of cache this was I soon had it in my hand. Expected this to take a little more time. Tftc
Although it was obvious once seen, it took us quite a while to spot this cheeky hide, a little on the high side for Mrs W.E.K.A.. For us it was perhaps a little south of the coordinates, although the outpost itself was obvious. TFTC
Took slightly longer then I was expecting. Cheeky little hiding spot Logbook is full.

Our NEW ZEALAND - TASMANIA - AUSTRALIA JOURNEY takes us to beautiful places and provides us with an incredible number of wonderful moments and experiences.Occasionally we also visit a few GeoCaches along the way. After an exciting day of riding in the river delta, we spent the night here at Kimloch campsite. A super nice place. We signed the guest book on our evening walk.Thank you for placing, maintaining and caring snapfish2 from SwitzerlandPS: Translated with the Deepl app
GPS was not accurate on this rainy day, but logical thinking lead to the right spot anyway. Log is full, and the added scrap of paper nearly so. Please replace log. Tftc
Got this one yesterday.
On a 7 day tour of South Island and stayed at the utterly awesome Eco-Scape lodge in Kinloch.
Got settled in to the lodge with its entire wall window overlooking the water, the mountains and the cache!
Saw a few folks looking and when I read the activity logs realised it needed a new log. So I took one down to the great Kiwi couple who just found it and we both signed while chatting. Just about fit back into cache - need to take out the old one - but a few new spaces now! TFTC

As noted by previous cachers. This log is completely full. We added a bit but new log needed
MrF and I have no work for next 4 days, over Easter. So a road trip to a place I have never been to before, but MrF has done a few deliveries this way. So on a beautiful sunny Good Friday we are off to visit..... and cache Lots of muggles about but we were stealthy or so we thought. We were approached by a fellow geocacher, from England. He was prepared with a needed TOTT. We added a little bit to a full log but a new log is needed

It took us a while to spot this tiny cache. Hope we didn't look too suspicious as we searched, but having plenty to read helped out. Sneaky hide in a beautiful place. Thanks for placing.
A couple of circuits of the structure before spotting. Log full. Sorry no spares with us. Squeezed our intials on slot 7. Thanks for the cache! River is up. I thought the Earnslaw came into the jetty here in the 1960s. Seem to remember stopping at Glenorchy and Kinloch before going on the Bryant open air bus to the start of the Routeburn. Maybe 1964 or 65. My niece used one of the buses for her wedding party in 2016, when she got married at Glendhu Bay.

Jude_E and I are helping my kids get to The Routeburn Track . I am being taxi Mum. Jude_E is keeping me company . She found the cache and a teensy weensy spot to write on number 7 spot.
This one’s well hidden. After reading through all the previous comments can confirm it’s magnetic and about 2m up. Log almost full. Fantastic spot.
What an awesome spot. I was greeted by a 4 legged friend who was keen for some pats. On to find the cache. The cache took me 3 odd times rounds to find but I got there in the end. The log is nearly full and will need replacing soon. The view of the old jetty is pretty cool to see.
Our first visit to Kinloch, what a beautiful spot for photographs. Circled several several times, it was hard to locate with such bright sun and shadows. Phew finally saw it but needed Mr E’s reach. Thanks dacotacats for enticing us out here!
Had to circle around the hiding spot a couple of times before I found the cache. Not sure how I missed it the first time I looked there! Thanks for bringing out here.
Thanks for the cache, dakotacats

Just walked the Earnslaw Burn. What amazing scenery. Unfortunately had to cancel doing the Rees Dart due to weather so walking Sugerloaf Rockburn instead. A great spot for a cache. Thanks for placing it
Before going tramping we had a great stay at Kinloch Retreat which gave us time to look, read the info board and admire the view. TFTC
It was not a quick find, but given the distance and the fact we were very very unlikely to ever be back an extra sweep was made of the potential hiding spots. Mrs SoBad took the honours, which meant some extra time was taken while she carefully rerolled the log. We had also checked out the eating spot - but as we had eaten in Glenorchy we were not concerned it was not open midafternoon today.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Kinloch really took me by surprise in a good way. I hadn't realised there was another settlement other than Paradise past Glenorchy. That lodge is gorgeous and it was interesting reading about it's history. Really neat display here too - have a favourite for the all round package. TFTC dakotacats # 17,996
We had fun reading all the info and looking around until the cache was spotted! Surprisingly well hidden! TFTC!!
#20532. A great spot for the cache (which took a bit of finding; reading it was a nano helped). Interesting see where the Earnslaw used to tie up, and to read the info panels. Time to turn around and head back to Glenorchy (after a side trip to Paradise). TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ's on our day trip out to Kinloch, Paradise, Glenorchy for a late lunch then back to Queenstown.
It was interesting to read the history of the area on the info panels. We wondered if the Earnslaw came this far, and now we know. I noticed that there was a cafe over the road, so went to check it out while SW made the cache find. Unfortunately the cafe isn't open for lunches on week days, so we will have to wait to we return to Glenorchy for a bite to eat.
Lovely spot to visit, having 2 caches here certainly was an incentive to make the trip. TFTC.

After a day off and a full resupply I'm all set to continue my Te Araroa adventure.
Green stone to mavora lakes .
It going to be a biggie as I will be back in Southland for the first time since oct 1 last year , and with less than 300 km to walk .
So a quick stop to nab this one as I head to the trail head and off down the track I think its going to be a big day.
Finally I am back on the main land , feels good to back in the south island.
And now getting closer to home and fimiler places. Otago is in my sites.
Living life one foot steep at a time as i walk from cape reinga to bluff and caching my way home as I walk the
Te Araroa and discover the hidden treasures new Zealand has to offer.
From the beachs of the north to the forest and lakes and the odd bump of the south
Blùff here i come
Thanks for the hide

Road tripping around central otago and geocaching along the way. Found with everdene22. Tftc
We had lunch in the campground in the company of two local dogs, a black and white spaniel and a honey coloured labrador. They were very friendly and they came bounding over to say hello when they saw us get out of the car. I am sure they thought that food might be on the agenda. Lots of pats and ear rubbing was but no food was forth coming. However, they still sat at our feet while we had our picnic, just in case. Such gorgeous views from here. You could see where the Dart river joins Lake Wakatipu. The lake was a much darker blue.
The GPS was not very steady but the only place to match the hint was where we looked. M saw the cache but then we were a bit vertically challenged so had to move it down with a stick. Returning it was even more of a challenge and some complex balancing tricks added to the fun.
A favourite point.

Took some time to find this, got there in the end.
Ms_KR and I decided to have an extended Show Weekend break, and today we cruised aound Queenstown, Glenorchy, the Rees, Dart, Kinloch and Routeburn. A lovely day and plenty of little distractions to find.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Felt rather grumpy that I couldn't reach it and when put back, I still couldn't see it. Now we're back at the YHA after yummy dinner at Prime I'm grateful to KR and Tftc.
5. cache today of my 92km bike trip. It is too high - above GL about 2m so I cannot reach it but I saw it and hope it counts .
The landscape has change here since last visit. The poor old wharf is now almost high and dry. TFTC
While New Zealand is at COVID-19 Alert Level 4, I am disabling all my physical caches as the only travel you should be undertaking is to obtain essential supplies, and you should not be touching shared surfaces (and this includes cache containers).
Any finds posted during this time (unless you are catching up on previous finds) will be deleted.

Managed to get here by boat as the road was flooded.

After we had something to eat we walked down to find this one. Took a bit to find and was eaten alive by the sandflies as we looked. Once found we headed back to hide from the biters TFTC
In Queenstown for the Gibbston concert and then a last minute decision this morning to head to Glenorchy and explore the area.
Was staying at Kinloch in April last year and planned on exploring the area then but with excessive rain it was all flooded and after being stuck at the lodge for 2 days we were unable to. Totally the opposite today with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the late 20's. Spent the day exploring the area before making our way to Kinloch for the night where we found this after a late dinner of yummy rhubarb crumble. Took a bit to locate as very well hidden but it was Gadget169's observant eye that spotted it in the end TFTC dakotacats

After walking up to the scheelite mine, and logging our first first to find cache, we went for a horse ride, it was great, back in Glenorchy, we decided to finish the day with some geocache, and... there was one, 3.5km away (by boat or plane) 28km by car, but published yesterday and not logged yet. As we drove to the cache and enjoyed the views we convinced ourselves someone else had visited it, but not logged it yet. Once there, we quickly found it and were stunned by our second FTF in a day, and second FTF ever... WOW, that was worth the drive. Kinloch is very nice place, but a little remote. Views are great. thanks for placing this here!
