No find for us today, we think we found where it should have been… but no container that we could see.

02-Jul-21
Out the back roads with Moosetash this morning and we passed by the gz and went for a short stroll and search but despite what we would consider a thorough search we still came up empty handed. Was keen to try this one but will have to come back again another time.

We wonder just how long it takes from Idea to making all these caches, just Fantastic everyone another FAV TFTC

My aim today was to collect as many Large cache types as possible. I quailed when I realised this was a gadget cache as I have a dismal record with them. I was happily surprised to discover the way into this relatively quickly. A favourite point and thanks Washawa

After a busy day yesterday chasing Paddle Steamer caches it was time to make our way back towards Melbourne and the Spirit. We decided to stop for a few caches on our way south. This was the first.

What a surprise this one was. We stood and admired the construction before looking for a way in. After a tentative prod followed by a poke and finally a little push we gained access and soon located the log. The guardian spider remained in place but watched us closely.

After inspecting the interior we returned everything as found.

Thanks Washawa for a great cache. We admired your construction and attention to detail. Sorry that GC only allows us to give you one favourite point.

Find #4783. Found @ 14:45

With an extra week off work, I decided to go on a little 4 day caching trip, that I've dubbed the CMapLGAmer trip. Combining targeted finds for the Country Map challenge, LGA challenge, and AUSmer challenge finds in the Western Victoria region - for added bonus, I've also included some large caches in the mix as well for another challenge, but they weren't in the mix when I came up with the name.

I used cachetur.no to plan the trip and (after I worked out some kinks with how I was using it) it worked fine.

My phone routing agreed with the suggested best access, and I arrived at the parking area and GZ with no problems. I also happened to open the cache container on my first attempt. What a nice job on the cache container and gadget cache - it gets a favourite from me.

This fell under the large cache category.

Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Washawa

Found on a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Team Waldron, Brisal5 and FeatherWaite. Our main targets were the Paddle Steamer and Turtle geoart series' but we also took the opportunity to seek out a few other caches along the way.

We were fortunate with the weather. After a burst of very hot days, we timed our trip nicely to coincide with the milder conditions before the next hot spell. That helped to make both the caching and the camping along the Murray River and in the Murray-Sunset National Park very pleasant.

We ended up finding all the caches that we had targeted. Most were in good order. Some of the puzzles were quite challenging and there were some very novel and entertaining multi's. Some certainly took a bit of finding and there were many very clever and/or tricky caches and containers that were a credit to the cache owners’ ingenuity.

It would have been good to have had another day or two to complete the remaining caches in the area, but I’m sure we’ll be back.

Thanks to all the cache owners for the hides.

Over from SA for 4 days of caching with Egregory1, Featherwaite and Brisal5.

We came primarily to do the Paddlesteamer series but picked up orthers as we drove around.

Apologies for the generis logs.

All caches we found were in good order.

Thanks to all cache owners whose caches we found.

***Generic Log unless something special above this line.***

I have seen a T shirt with Sleep Eat Cache Repeat [^] Well a four day trip to Mildura with caching friends Team Waldron, E.gregory and FeatherWaite certainly fit that bill. Razz Logs were signed with initials only for the teams - BEFW

Up at daybreak, quick breakfast and cache all day stopping only to have a snack whilst out on the trails, rush to set up camp near dusk for a meal, then perhaps some night caching, early night and REPEAT! Big Grin

Strategic camping at Kings Billabong, Rocket lake and The Common meant we were close by the Geoart and target night caches. Cool Two previous trips in 2013 and 2016 by me and some by E.gregory meant we visited some (well quite a few actually) previous finds but that made it quick for the people that hadn't found them previously. Wink

I can't thank the CO's of these caches enough as some were really very inventive. Even having solved most puzzles before we came we were confronted with field puzzles and gadgets that were just mind boggling. [:X][:X][:X]

***Thanks Washawa for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Brisal5, e.gregory1 and Team Waldron with the main aim to complete the Paddle Steamer and Turtle GeoArt series but also to find other caches along the way. We camped out on the banks of the Murray River near Mildura on the first night, at Rocket Lake campground in the Murray-Sunset National Park on the second night, then back to the banks of the Murray River near Merbein on the last night. We signed the logs as B.E.F.W. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the cache!

Well this cache is interesting. Once we arrived at GZ and had a look at the container we soon knew what was needed to do to be able to open the cache container. Well done. SL TFTC

TFTC. We had come to Mildura for a few days escape from being travel restricted. We were to meet good friends muff1 but as they would not be here until lunchtime, we went out caching.
A Cold windy morning, at least it was not raining.

Hi there Washawa.

We found your cache **"Signal"** at 12:07:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 24676).

We're staying in Mildura to hunker down over the current Victorian lockdown. to get our exercise today we decided to attempt some caches around the Red Cliffs area. We found 8 caches & DNF'd 0.

Thanks for placing this cache here. Over the years, Geocaching has taken us on many adventures and to lots of wonderful destinations all over Australia. Without 'caching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wanderings. 'Caching has also introduced us to a diverse group of like-minded people, many of whom we now call friends. We awarded this cache a favourite point for the novelty construction.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge

Thank you Washawa for adding to our adventure.

Regards

Ian & Penny

Nestled in north west Victoria and so far not affected by a corona virus lockdown, Mildura has a wealth of geo treasure hidden in a variety of ways.
What a gem! Brought back a few memories as we added our name to the log and dropped in a FP.

Our thanks to 'Washawa' for adding this cache to the geo gameboard.

GeoWife knew people who lived at the house by the giant signal tower when she was a child. And on trips back from Melbourne the tower is a signal that we're almost home. This dirt road was clear of traffic this evening so we comfortably pulled the car to the side of the track and made the short stroll to GZ. What a clever construction this cache is. Didn't take too long to expose the log. TFTC

Evil. Fun. Worth every favourite this will get. Took me a while. Then the age huh moment we rejoice in.
Now I didn't see this cache when I was out here earlier. I was getting down and dirty km Irymple and thought it against my better judgement to head back out from where I had just been.. But no... The find beckoned me and all reasoning just.. Well it vaporised and I am so glad it did.. TYFTC SL grabbed TB and 2TF.
What a hoot and holler. Just so glad these aren't used anymore.! I need a shower and sleep.
