5th of 11 found today.Wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get here what with all the work going on, but no problem at all. Managed to do a few contortions looking into things before changing level and making the find.****The condition of the cache is - good ****TFTC Tankengine and the Dorito.
Wee JasperInternational Geocaching Day 2025I took a road trip to Wee Jasper to find a bunch of caches with contesta, Joolay, Tankengine. We stopped for this one on the way home. Interesting to see they have started building the new bridge. Thanks for the hide Tankengine
After a breakfast event to start IGD, a group of us set out to clear out an area to the north west of Canberra. We didn't quite succeed but almost did, and we were all very happy with our achievements. Our group consisted of barb2e, Kittykatch, Joolay, Tankengine and contesta. Firstly many thanks to them for a fabulous day out and then to all COs for making today possible. Especially TE who owned so many of these caches and was doing maintenance. All caches found were signed and returned to their hiding place. This cache was found as we neared home after a chance remark that I still hadn't found this cache. That has been rectified now.
What a nice location!Cache and log doing greatOut caching with Buckoraider before he heads overseas to walk 800km I told him about Ubers but he doesnt trust them, so he said he rather walk
2nd cache of the night, quick run with the pup to find some that have been on the list for a while. Nice to reflect on the old memories of this area before all the development. TFTC
Was in the vicinity for the nearby Earthcache, and as I drove over this bridge headed for Woden I spotted a muggle (fellow cacher?) parked nearby and emerging from the crossing underneath. Was he perhaps looking for a cache?! I looked at the app and lo and behold, there was one here all right. And it wasnt a bridge banter thankfully (I only had a few mins!).The muggle/potential cacher cleared off, I parked up and headed down. I should say, Im pretty sure Ive never crossed this bridge despite its significance as part of the stretch of the Molonglo downstream from the lake, but before it flows into the Murrumbidgee.Anyhoo, I overcomplicated things at ground zero as per normal before it appeared right in front of me. Fresh log and I was the first to sign, so that chap before me was either a muggle or didnt manage to reel this in. Im tipping the former.Went for a bit of rock hopping downstream afterwards before remembering I had somewhere to be and shooting back to the car. Thanks Tankengine!
Nice one, although somewhat exposed. It did take a second to spot though and this area’s pretty quiet in terms of foot traffic so it’s probably fine as is.
Busy traffic-wise (plenty of cars and trucks) but no pedestrian passers-by around. Wonder how this area will look when the new crossing gets built. Cheers TE. All good with the hide.

In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

Nice wander down to the water on a stinking hot day. Cache soon spotted, log signed (small person thought we were FTF, alas just first to sign new log). TFTC
We found this one exactly where it should be. It’s tether is safely there, however, there is no bison attached any more.
A clever Hide in a good location.
Thanks Tankengine.

Next stop on a day out and having driven over this one many many times, it was time to stop and give it ago. Parked close by and took the short walk to GZ where the cache was quickly spotted. Sat underneath the upper deck to sign the log, listening as traffic went past. Log was replaced and then it was a quick walk back to the car before driving over the crossing and heading further afield.
Thanks for the fun TE.....

# 8213 iPlod65 and I decided it was a good day for some geocaching and lunch, so we cast our eye over the Coppins Crossing area.
This was our first stop and we pretty much walked straight up to it. Good to see it survived the flooding. Sadly while we were doing this, some low-life pulled up, broke into our car and stole a bag containing a wallet, keys etc, all while we were watching less than 100m away.
Thanks Tankengine

Given the traffic going over it now, they need to upgrade to a triple decker bridge. TFTC
Back in Canberra for a stint. Best catch some caches, old and new. TFTC.
I didn't even know this old bridge was here. Looks like this will be the old old bridge once they build a newer one.

Down to Canberra for a little visit and have some spare time today ... time to climb trees and mountains. And cross a river. A somewhat raging little river after the recent rains. I was actually aware of the history here - when I lived here some 30 years ago I would drive this way occasionally on the old causeway - but very often flooded. This new bridge is better - although I understand it still goes under. But not today - bridge was clear, time to off the shoes and go for a little wade in the water. Lovely and cool.
Got to GZ and after a bit of a search came up with .... missing cache. There has been some debris through here as well, and sadly sheered off the container from it's spot. Details sent to CO who has kindly allowed this log. It gets a FP due to the placement and the fun getting here.
Thanks Tankengine for entertaining me at this location.

Short walk near Coppins..... I have been better prepared this lockdown and more willing to get out.
Short stroll to the easy find, very interesting to see the history of the crossing

Today’s adventures saw me collecting smiles around Coombs and Denman Prospect on a gloriously sunny ?? winter’s day after all the rain of late.

Despite the passing traffic, the cover of darkness was a perfect time to have a look for this cache. With spot on coordinates I made the find within moments. Retrieved the cache and signed the log under concealment. Driving over this crossing for over 40 years (not all with me behind the wheel) it was good to pick up a cache in such a worthy spot. I certainly remember it long before it was raised. Thanks Tankengine for placing and maintaining this one through the floods. Nice mini ftf for me on a fresh new log sheet!
Was in the area so decided to check on this after the heavy flooding. Cache good, log was wet, so have replaced. Old log sheet attached. Good to go!
Had my car parked here to get to an other cache and then thought I might as well claim this one too.
It's very muggy and in fact just now the thunder started and I felt a raindrop.

After an afternoon tackling some puzzle caches in Higgins, we stopped by Coppins Crossing on the way home to make this find. Nice and quick grab and great to visit the old crossing up close and personal! Thanks for this one Tankengine!
Out on a great caching morning with the WEEO when we found this one. Hard to believe that I was learning to cut in and out kayaking on the rapid just below here a couple of years ago. Love the cache's brazenness, so Fav point from me.
Found today with three kings after a great morning caching Thanks Tank Engine for another of your classic hides and a favourite from me
Found with AngelG27 on a Wednesday lunchtime mission. Angel did the expert finding while I did the expert driving. Sorry for the late log, TFTC
Knew where to go after finding half of it following the floods - it was meant to be my 900th. Now it's been replaced - thank you Tankengine! - this cache became number 1048 for me. Getting there slowly...
Cache 6633 on 21 Oct 2020.
Out for a quick lunchtime jaunt with Bobl27 to find a couple of caches.
I had been saving this cache for a quick pick up one day, and today was the day. I figured that I had better sign the log while the new cache lid was in place and before construction on a new bridge started in earnest. Quick find thanks to having precious scouted it out!
Thanks Tankengine for the cache and the fun! T go

Yay ... B&S with his handy 'caching' bag saved the day! (or was that the cache??) TFTC
Thanks, TankEngine.
Found yesterday, damaged.
Turned up today with a new bottom and log for the cache, only to find it already repaired!
Signed for Tig & me.

As per previous log, we found the fixing & the top but not the log or the bottom of the container
I had hoped that this would be my 900th cache, but when GeoKid and I arrived we discovered that although the top part of the container is still attached to its wire, unfortunately the bottom half and the log are missing - I presume they went missing the last time this crossing flooded?
We were able to find our 900th slightly up the road...

Well after an involved early morning caching mission to find a perplexing cache, AngelG27, TikvaNZ and I continued on our mission and go for the hike for more.
After parking up the geounit this one was a quick and easy find. Lovely to see the water flowing!
Thanks for yet another one, Tankengine!

I might have chosen the wrong day to grab this cache! Maybe it made it more fun though! TFTC!
Found with barb2e. I have always wanted to stop here and now I have. Huge amount of build up on one side and lovely river the other. All good with cache. TFTC Tankengine
Beautiful day for walking near the river. Cache found quickly, and we enjoyed wandering about near the water.

With all the wood that has washed down the river and a few good level covered colvits. I think this would be a great place to set a camp fire. I wonder how long it would be before someone noticed the smoke.
Not long with all the traffic.

Out and about doing some cache maintenance, so took the opportunity to make a quick find here today. Water quite high after some recent rain, flowing nicely. TFTC TankEngine
The river's pretty high after 34mm last night and impeded my attempt to grab the other nearby one on the river bank. Might have to wait for the water to subside a little there but this one was easily accessible and after searching a couple of other spots, managed to home in on the correct one. Well tucked away and not easily visible. TFTC Tankengine.
This was the start of a pleasant 4 km loop walk from here to Butters bridge and back. A couple of years ago, I used this location as a parking spot but my inexperience meant that I did not find this cache. I am really taken by the quality of these TE caches. TFTC
Found with [@Decrypter](http://coord.info/PR75QXD). We were in the area to test D's whereyougo capabilities on a nearby wherigo. Being wherigo-challenged I came along for the walk. After testing the system, and coming across two black snakes, we decided to leave the final for another time. So we headed for this one. Once at GZ we quickly had CIH. Log signed and replaced and we headed off. TFTC.
A lovely day today so before doing our duties for the day we decided to collect some caches on the way. A lot of new ones have been appearing around Canberra of late so we thought we had better start collecting a few.
This one was the first for the day and luckily no recent rains to cause any issues.
Quick find at GZ and we were on our way.
Thanks for the hide Tankengine.

Picked this one up on the way back from Kama Reserve. If I'd logged it a couple of hours later I might have been well-placed to pick up one of the many caches that have just been published around the area! TFTC TE
This is a cool spot by the river, lots of water but safe, we explored under the new road too. Cable bit me and while I was bleeding Lisa went to help and it bit her too, ouch! That cable was sharp! Straightened it a bit so might be better now but loved this spot. Thanks for the cache.
Dino and I had an outing visiting just climbing caches. Dino loves it and I am often happy to have hime there. As I had to get him motivated tree climb caches seemed a perfect aim for the afternoon.
This was not a tree climb, obviously, but our glorious final foe the evening. After not risking the new nearby challenge and climb cache as it was too dangerous looking we relived the bad tast on a DNF by visiting here. I am glad we did, this is a fairly obvious hide and I would be afraid it goes missing again. Especially now with scarce space for outings more people seem to come here too. There was a father on the phone and a haply little girl jumping the rocks, as she was so glad to be out and about it seemed.
Thank you Tankengine for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Cache repaired, but if it happens some more - I might have to think of a plan B.
Heading past this way today and decided to grab the couple of new Tankengine caches on this part of the Molonglo River given it was such a nice day!
Parked in a convenient spot near the gate and wandered to GZ. The cache was found without too much trouble, or what was left of the cache at least
Only the attachment and the lid remained. Seems like someone has stolen the bottom part with the log, sorry to bear the bad news! It is a great spot for a cache however!
Thanks Tankengine, hope my photo evidence is OK to claim the find Let me know if not!

February 29th and a big day for many cachers it seems to fill that elusive blank spot on the calendar. For me this was my first opportunity since starting so was keen to make a good day of it and find as many of the different types as possible. The Project GC badges offered a good incentive to make the finds also.
After parking in the nearby car park it was a quick and easy walk down to the old bridge. I was having a good look at everything that I wasn't looking where the cache was and about to pull out the phone to check and spotted the cache! Nice and easy!!
The old road makes a nice footpath here now, great spot and although not a lot of water still pretty. Thanks for the cache Taknengine.

Had to find a geocache on Feb 29, this was the nearest easy one to home. Despite a busy schedule for the day was able to get it in. Planned to do the three by the Murrumbidgee but with a bit of a walk decided to leave them to Sunday. TFTC.
After an enjoyable extra day of summer I came down to try and find this cache for my 29 feb find I looked initially in what I thought were likely spots but after 10 unlucky minutes I checked a different location still nothing but turned around and saw the tell-tale attachment TFTC.
Looked and lookedd for 20 min before phoning several friends who gave me a hint. The cords were 7 meters out for me so I was looking in the wrong spot. Cords were out because I was using phone and not GPS to navigate. Thanks for the cache, I signed it DSD
Sunday morning was bright and sunny and I wanted to get out for a walk. I stopped by Coppins Crossing and ended up following the river upriver on the southern side to two caches along there. On my return I crossed the river to the main track and found myself near a solved puzzle, I could not skip it so I extended the walk a bit. I did struggle to get back to the car, I need to do more walking.
The cache here was in an interesting spot, I would not want to try it in a high flow. I was interested that it was the old road.
Thanks.

Took the time to get the approach right and found a large baby formula tin right on GZ. Hmm - thought not subtle enough for Tankengine......I was right. This is a great location for homeless people to shelter - strange how I have always made mental notes just in case! Anyway, enjoyed the hunt - TFTC
Noticed this new cache by TE, we had to locate today, here I was poking my stick in all the holes I could find, when Gerriactive says "I have it"!! We were a little concerned about getting down to the "2nd level", but for two elderly ladies we did manage to find an easy path, tftc.
Travelgran and I found it easier to get down to the lower level than we had expected. Had never looked at The crossing so closely before. Thank you Tankengine for placing the cache and bringing us here.

Following this morning's event, I found a few of the newer caches on the western side of Canberra. Cache easily found - it would be a different story in high water! TFTC.

Second day of a long weekend caching. Today is all about the ACT. Australia day, so there will be muggles around, but it does not spoil the fun. Focus is on lab caches and whereIgo, but all other close caches were grabbed as well.

20,012. Found with minniek on a meander around Canberra today.
With a few hours up our sleeves before today's event we decided to tackle a few caches northside. I remember driving over the original bridge with my folks years ago - long before the expressway was built. minniek came up with the quick find.
Thanks Tankengine !!

Headed into Canberra with fitzy_1965 for an event on the proviso that I could pick up a couple of Jasmers that I've had solved for a while.
With the Jasmers collected, we had a bit of time up our sleeves before heading off to DSD's baby shower and the podcaster event afterwards.
This cache is definitely high and dry at the moment making for a simple find. Hardest thing was getting the log back in the cache....maybe a bit too much paper making for a tight squeeze.

Found with sebass14. Before heading to the event at Jamo, we decided to get a few caches along the way during the time that we had available. Parked at the gate and wandered down to GZ where after searching in a few spots, the cache was soon in hand - I honestly didn't expect that hide, so very cool how this subverted my expectations! Beautiful location next to the river. TFTC TE!
Stopped to pick up this cache on the way to see the grandkids, then onto my favourite south side gym. Bridge/crossing is heavily used but was very quiet down by the creek bed itself. Surprised to see the cache location and was not the first few places checked despite GZ being spot on. Had trouble removing the log and, as for the previous finder, much more trouble putting it back again but got there in the end. Sadly, a mostly dry place that will be completely by-passed with the new road to be above and further over in the coming year. Quick and easy find. TFTC Tankengine.
Called in here on the way home. Was expecting something more devious, but spotted it quickly. Got out just as the fishing crowd arrived.

Headed out after dark to hunt down a new cache and check out the river levels! Yep, still low and extra stinky!
Was interesting to walk along the old pavement, we just hoped no one lost control on the upper one.
Cache was found it the first spot we checked, always a nice bonus.
Thanks for the cache TE, guess a new super level will be added soon!
