A great little multi. We do enjoy these caches at historic markers. Very interesting. Tftc.
Having come down to Bacchus Marsh for a few nights, it was time to head back home to Adelaide. The plan was, however, to spend a few days making the drive back, finding caches along the way. Todays efforts mainly consisted of targeting more caches that would help me with challenges; were situated in LGAs I had not cached in; filled uncompleted Jasmer spots; and numerous caches in between. I meandered my way along either side of the freeway, finding the desired caches before eventually calling it a night once the sun had set and I needed to find a place to stay for the night. Despite not making much distance back to Adelaide, it was a good day of caching as the desired caches were found in some quality locations. Apologies for the generic log as I have quite a few to write following this trip.Find #9783, at 03:14 pmTFTC
Leaving Ballarat today and heading to Colac area for a few nights before heading to Geelong for the end of my trip
Found It........While in the area visiting the Sunflower farm it was decided to grab a couple of caches. After pulling up and collecting the required info we set off to GZ where a quick search soon had us with the cache in hand. So with the log signed and container replaced we continued our journey. Thanks Tomsache for the cache
I grabbed a photo of the plaque a month or so ago and worked out the coordinates for GZ. Today was a chance to find it and the youngest monster made a quick find!! TFTC!!
We were here for the tour, but you can't let other opportunities like a new LGA go by, so we detoured out to find this cache. Thanks TomstacheI spent the Australia Day long weekend in and around Ballarat with 1TOOLMAN and stainless steel rat to do the geotour. We found them all plus most other caches from our short list of around 70 caches.
We only added this one as it was in a different LGA, but they turned out to be good ones too.Sometime ago myself and gooseandegg had looked at the idea of doing one of the GeoTours in Australia but due to finders losing the attributes and maybe even the souvenir I wasn't about to go out of my way to search out a GeoTour, upon hearing that finders would retain the attributes and souvenir for the Ballarat GeoTour this changed things and plans were made to head specially to the Ballarat area.We flew out of Hobart on Thursday night after work and after a night staying near the airport we were picked up early by honorary Tasmanian 1Toolman, we spent the next two days searching out all the GeoTour and some choice old or special geocache in and around Ballarat, on Sunday morning we just had time to call at GemmaSistemas event out at Miners Rest before turning tail and dashing for the airport to get on my first ever Rex flight back to Hobart, even landing early at 1307.Found on 26/01/2024 at 13:24:00 thanks to Tomstache for placing this cache for me to find. Found with barb2e whilst doing the Geotour and going for a bit of a detour. It's a bit wet and foggy today. We have a historical place with the renamed name in the ACT as well. TFTC
Last day for the assault on the Ballarat Geotour with isopeda. Lots of rain overnight but dry at the moment even if we can't see anything in the fog. Tftc
Apparently I didn't have a find in the "Golden Plains" LGA. So I decided to grab this cache to get it crossed off.I set about collecting my clues with no problems and then headed toward GZ. I soon found the well-hidden prize. A great spot for a cache and a bit of history to be learnt. TFTC Tomstache
A njce and simple multi here followed by a quick find at GZThis week I decided to head to Victoria for a few days to target finishing off the Ballarat Geotour and also find the new series in St Arnaud, anything else was a bonus. I ended up finding a little over 300 caches plus a tonne of ad labs along the way. Thanks for the cache
Needing one multi cache and 29 mysteries to complete a challenge I am aiming for this was the closest multi. Went to St Arnaud the other day and nailed all the mysteries I needed. This one has been sitting here for ages so its not before time that I did it. Got the required numbers and headed to a familiar hide at GZ. Tftc
Last day. In Ballarat already, after two days of ordinary weather today is a lovely day with perfect caching conditions. A few more geotour caches to do and lots of labs in town are good for the numbers. Thoroughly enjoyed today, thanks to the local community for putting out all these caches.TFTC Wilbert67
Our last day in Ballarat , the weather has been a little challenging. A few more geotour caches to do and lots of labs and traditional. Ballarat and the surroundings are a great location to cache. Thanks to all the COs for their placements
Today we explored Ballarat and surrounds using geocaching as a guide. We enjoyed travelling through the countryside and visiting new, to us, locations. We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty.A straight forward multi and a quick find at GZ.Many thanks to all CO's for your cache placement.
overthought this one too much and didn't realise that it was right infront of me. nice and easy multi! thanks for the cache:)
Some interesting history here with a plaque I never would have otherwise noticed.
Coordinates were easily worked out at the plaque and then it was a matter of darting to the cache between cars going past.
Cache found, log signed and returned.

After this mornings event I headed down this way to grab a few more caches. It was one of those days, raining then sunshine then rain again....
As for the cache, it was solved in a group at Christmas time last year when a few Canberra cachers were in town, however we never actually got to GZ. Fast forward to today and it was on my way, so stopped to finish it off. Found without issue and my name is now safely in the log.
Thanks for history lesson Tomstache....

Day one of the new Wheel of Challenges. Not a great day weather wise, but before it gets late and wet, it is now time to head out and get a local cache for today. I have driven this road many times, but have never taken the time to just stop and look what is here. Fascinating to learn about Waverly Park and the subsequent new owners and the significance they had on the naming of places in the area.
The cache was intact, in place, and the log had room for a new names.
Thankyou for bringing me to this point and thanks for the cache Tomstache

Travelling through Ballarat on our way home I found this on the map to fill a gap on my calendar for multi caches. It was an interesting plaque to gather information from and I walked to find the cache as we weren’t sure whether there was safe parking closer to it. It was a quick find exactly where we guessed it would be. Interesting story!
Found with Joolay on a drive to Ruthrrglen. Picked up on the way out of Ballarat this morning. Cool and quick offset multi to grab another county. Thanks for another caching adventure Tomstache
Yay another county on our way out. Quick calcs and off to find the cache.
Leaving Ballarat today. It’s been a lovely few days.
Thanks for getting me out and about Tomstache

Found as I travelled from Adelaide to attend the Mega event at Whittlesea on the weekend. I gave myself a couple of days to get there so that I could find a few caches of interest along the way.
Thanks Tomstache for the cache.
Thanks Tomstache for the cache.
After attending the nearby event and CITO, LL teamed up with SteMicMitSar to do some further caching in the area. All caches were found and a great day was had picking up a variety of caches for the day.
Making our way back to Ballarat now and with CnLL needing to add some more multi's to their list this was an easy stop by.
All information easily gathered and it wasn't long and we were on the cache.
Thanks Tomstache for sharing this history.

*Cache find # 13144.*
After attending a CITO event earlier on, it was now time to spend the afternoon finding a few caches so I teamed up with LeeLee and off we went.
We were now on the return run back towards Ballarat and decided to target a few multis.
Well as we had to drive right by this one, how could we not stop for a look.
The numbers were gathered and GZ calculated so off we headed, once there a quick and easy find was made.
**Thanks to Tomstache for placing this cache.**

After a very early start to a Sunday morning, Mr Dromaniax and Ausfox; arrived at the first cacher for the day. It had been a pea-soup fog until Bannockburn, but the sun was shining, and the morning was superb until we neared Beaufort and the cloud descended to ground level.
After a few conversations and some Twisties and Solo at the event, we headed to the lake for the CITO.
Once we finished at the CITO, we headed to Ballarat to find a few caches and drop some items off with family.
We were heading back to the Bellarine Peninsula and decided a few more caches would be a good idea.
We are both trying to increase our Multicache numbers, so a short detour was made to grab this one.
The cache is in excellent condition.
Thank you for this cache Tomstache

I ventured up to Beaufort for two events via Skipton then continue onto Ballarat with Dromaniax.
The day started in a low mist which continued throughout the cold and windy day.
This was the last cache for the day. We enjoyed the quick calculations then discovered the hide.
Log signed and replaced as Found.
Thanks for the Multi Cache Tomstache

It’s time for a weekend road trip. After speaking to the bank and remortgaging my house I managed to scrape enough together for half a tank of fuel. So I buddied up with OzHockeyChick who took out a loan for the other half a tank so we could get home again. Definitely won’t be leaving the engine running this weekend .
This was a nice quick multi to finish off the day. Time to head on home back to Melbourne!
Thanks Tomstache for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

A weekend road trip to the Ballarat area, incorporating an event, a cito, a couple of solved puzzles and exploring Enfield Forest.
Nearly finished for the day, but there’s always “just one more”.

Some good friends had decided to head to Ballarat for a few weeks so I decided I needed a break and joined them, we had a great time out caching as well as sharing stories and laughs around a meal or two. I really love the area of Ballarat there is so much history and I am sure it has the largest population of Oak trees in the Country.
This is one of the caches found today.
Some caches logged as RASP rebel acts &Ski pair.

Glad to say we got the sums correct and then made the find at GZ.
With work encouraging us to take some holidays and Mr SKI having quite a few weeks up his sleeve it was time to take another short break and do some sightseeing and caching in parts of Victoria we seldom visit.
This time we decided it would be Ballarat. There is a wide variety of cache types and quite a number of Adventure Labs to do, so the area is quite attractive. And that doesn't include the historical and interest aspects as well.
We organized to meet up with some friends while there so we would have the opportunity to do some joint as well as solo caching.
We have already had some great adventures on a few challenging caches that generated a lot of fun and as usual always good to find some pre-solved puzzles.
All logs signed as SKI Pair, RASP (Rebel Acts & SKI Pair or SP depending on size of logs and availability of space.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Tomstache.

We pass this area often and finally we managed to stop and gathered the required information. we have often wondered what this plaque said, now we know lol, Log was retrieved, signed and replaced as found, Thanks for giving us a reason to stop here, and for the interesting piece of history, TFTC and the fun
Find # 2727 for me. Found at 2:22 pm with my dog Bonnie while on our way to the geocaching event after spending some time with my aging mother as I always like to do whenever I'm in Ballarat. I've had the final coordinates on me for a long time now, but wanted to make the find on an empty calendar date for multi-caches and because February 19th was just that, and I was going to be in the area for the Buninyong event, it made sense to target this cache today. After previewing GZ in Google Earth before leaving home, I had a good idea on where this one would be and my theory was confirmed as I made an easy find after leaving my GPS device in the car. Thanks for highlighting the history of Waverley Park and the origins of the name of Winter's Flat Tomstache (not named after Ballarat's notoriously cold winters afterall!) and thanks for the cache!
kenbryl and I detoured home this way to find your cache. We worked out the coords a while ago but we weren't heading the right way back then. Today we had time and the right direction. tftc
Kenare and I worked out what we needed here a couple of months ago so we saved the coords for when we were over here next. Today was the day!! Tftc
After finding the plaque and coming up with a likely set of numbers, it was time to take a walk to Gz. The creek is flowing hard today. Cigc. Tftc
I picked this cache up at 1:33pm.
After a fail at a multi down the road, I headed to this interesting little roadside stop.
Given you don't get the opportunity to do 12 different types of caches in one day, so when I heard about this the other day from Chooknchunk, I decided to pull my finger out and plan a day. Of course this needed to start at 7am!!
Thanks for the cache Tomstache.

This multi was started a little while ago grabbing the numbers I needed and readin the interesting history of the location. I worked on the numbers and put it away for another time. Today it was time to go back past and make the find. It was quiet when I pulled up here and made a quick work of it today.

We stayed in Ballarat for the last night of our trip. We hoped to pick up a few multi's for a challenge we are working toward and also any others that we came across.
This is quite an interesting area with 3 name changes through out it's life. We often wonder how many animals died on any sort of sea voyage and although this is only a short trip there would have to have been incidents on board. At least sheep taste good.
Once we had the numbers sorted we were off to GZ where the cache was located after a short search.
Thanks once more Tomstache for showing us this area.

A quick find with the kids whilst out this side of town. A simple multi with a checksum which I needed! Ha ha. Many thanks for the cache.
We had seen this plaque a couple of years ago while driving past, and commented "should put a multi here". And now there is. Thank you for highlighting the plaque and the history Tomstache.
I had forgotten how horrible the main road to Ballarat can be as I thought all the road works would be finished but no they have signs for kilometers where you can only do 60km per hour.
Now they are not only going ahead with wire down the centre but are also digging up one side of the road.
I guess it is providing some money to those working on this project.
Gathered the required numbers and after doing the maths arrived at this location only to see flattened grass from tyre marks so I knew that I was not the first here today.
Thanks Tomatache for placing this cache for us to find.

Interesting multi and a quick find after crunching the numbers. Thanks Tomstache, I spent some time imagining what this large holding would have looked like in the day.
Found by Mary and David at 17:10. Delighted that you included a checksum! A FP awarded for the interesting local history. Here for the Events this evening, and on to another one at Seymour tomorrow. Good to see the names perpetuated. Our thanks to Tomstache.
A nice little multi highlighting a place that I would have driven straight past yet again otherwise.
Very interesting history and read on the cache page. the numbers crunched and soon the cache was found.

This is our second visit to Waverley Park now. The first time was when it was first published when we escorted wozzle68 for the FTF but chose not to sign the logbook until a multi was needed.
That time has come! A quick bite to eat after work and we made our way up the highway to finally add our team name to the logbook.
Thanks Tomstache for the multi placement.

A new month dawned,
a day later than usually
So it was time to get out there,
and find me a geocache to celebrate
Waverly Park was the first cache that popped up on the GPS,
so it was time for a game of footy
Oh not that Waverley Park ?? [:o)]
Scratch that 'e'.
A good bit of local history was read,
and numbers worked out for GZ
'Bout now I realised that me timing was bad !!
It's 'rush hour', and this is an awkward spot to be pullin' in and out of the manic traffic !! [:o]
I got lucky though,
and jagged a break,
that got me to GZ
A quick cache find,
and I was off again

30 Days, hath September, April, June & November, all the rest have 31, except February alone, which has 28 days clear & 29 in each Leap Year!

As it was about to rain, we thought we would at least try to get the needed information so that we could have this multi ready to go on another trip. We were able to work it out nice and quickly and managed to find the cache before the rain arrived. Thanks for the cache and the lesson.
Didn't think that we would be able to get this as the rain is setting in but we managed to make the find between showers. Thanks for the cache.
Suscoe was making our way closer to the events in Ballarat this morning.
We had a few moments up our sleeves and so we stopped by to gather the info and then to find the cache.
Everything was in good order during our visit.

TFTC. After attending a morning tea event in Ballarat, i was keen to add to our multi tally. I had earmarked a couple to do today but with the weather getting warmer i changed direction and attempted a couple of closer in ones
We saw the notification for this new one and thought we would leave it until the weekend. But as we were close this morning we quickly got the information and the find. Thanks for another bit of history.
