Out caching with Loci612 this morning doing a handful of caches around Cooleman Ridge. The weather was perfect which made it a beautiful day to explore with amazing views the whole way around the ridge. This container is so good, such a good idea to allow for swaps! Thank you charlotteleclerc for the cache (and a container idea)!!
Thank you for bringing us to Coolemon Ridge Nature Park - we enjoyed the walk and views. TFTF
#3979 I had to negotiate my approach here as I was coming toward GZ from the rear, but once there it was a quick find with great coords and maybe a little luck first go. Then off on the main track back to the car. TFTC charlotteleclerc.
#16306 - 10:44:00 AM; Out on a caching run around Cooleman Ridge with Sol de lune. Collected the eleven caches I needed as we made our way around together initially before Sdl headed off and I continued for the last few solo, including this one. Nice views from GZ and adding a favourite for the variation on the container which was quickly located. TFTC charlotteleclerc
Found on a big day walking Cooleman Ridge. I liked this one, the container is a very fun twist on the usual design and looks well maintained. Quick find in its snug hidey hole. TFTC charlotteleclerc!
A quick find thanks to a great hint while exploring around the area with the geopup. TFTH
Grabbing some caches on this nice early morning with Wilbert67.

A beautiful morning walk up down and around the mountain with J+J.AU that turned into a couple of hrs. Weather started out great for the day and turned pretty warm later on. All caches found fairly easy.

Googlasaurus & I had a chance to wander around Cooleman Ridge & pick up some caches that have appeared since we moved away a few years ago.
Cool hide, CleC & I also love a palindrome. TFTC!

Actual plans to be undertaken outside of the ACT were dashed thanks to that thing that keeps on giving in the past year or two so I was left with a spare day and what's more it was a spare day during nice weather (a rarity these days it seems). Definitely some tops views to be had along these trail on such a day. Most found quickly and easily - this one however, was by far the noisiest! Thankfully no muggles around to surprise with my shenanigans.
Found on a walk with some friends back on Coolemon Ridge. Cache in good condition.
Thanks for hiding this cache charlotteleclerc

So good to have a sit and a snack. Been a great walk so far. Still some more hills to go though.
Tackling Cooleman Ridge today with a group. Lovely day so far but rain expected later.
Unless otherwise stated all was good with cache.

This was an interesting find with my geopals up on the Ridge again this weekend. Great views and a great place to sit and rest a while, enjoying a drink and a bite to eat. TFTC charlotteleclerc Log now carries our names.
Loved the cache. Didn't swap anything.
Favourite point from me.
There was a Cunningham's Skink nearby. Will try to upload a photo as well.

Another Sunday had come around, so our small group formed up for another visit to Coolamon Ridge. We hit twelve caches today that I had not done before whilst walking too far and up and down too many slopes. There are some great views from some of the places along here, and the newish lookout was a favorite spot for the day.
Thanks for the cache charlotteleclerc

Continuing on after a few 'creature' caches and headed down for a last few. No issues with any of them and my name was soon in the log.
Thanks for the neat container and hide charlotteleclerc....fav point for this one.

#4037 An interesting area here. Had to hunt for this one, not too of an easy find, but found in the end. TFTC.
Not sure if I missed this or if it is missing searched for a while couldn’t find anything looks like new work has been done in the area.
We arrived earlier, an Icon water muggle was here, so we went to collect other caches, then back here for a search. Great cache. TFTC
Took a bit of a search to find the right spot but got there in the end. Palindromes within palindromes!! Tftc
A long weekend and georges Canberra winter weather, while there was lots of work/school/house work we just had to plan a hike this weekend and zeroed on on Cooleman ridge as the prefect spot.
Lots of new caches since our last visit and as allways great views to the hills and mountains from there. Wilma loves it. I was happy with all the finds and Dino was happily in tow. Hoppy for that matter couldn't imagine a better afternoon spend. (Poor Pebbles had to stay home, too sikc to hike)
Cache wise we cleaned out the northern half of the reserve, no DNFs 12 quick finds finds and a wonderful hike. We will be back for the southern half.
This one was harder than expected. I neede a few miniutes of search, read the hint and followed the advice there and still only found it in the very last corner I could see around A FAVpoint for the fun hide and interesting container, a search with a view.
Thank you charlotteleclerc for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

What a fantastic set up for the cache. Found with a little help from the clue and a camera. Thank you!
Exploring some more of Cooleman Ridge today. The views either side are fantastic
Went out for a walk and this was the first stop. Cache quickly found in the expected spot. There was a peewee here sitting above the grate and causing loud echos.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Decided to try for a long caching hike today, so headed out with a bag full of swag, two cans of Diet Coke, and 700ml of water. We hadn't expected it to be so hot (the forecast got it wrong - surprise!) so had to ration the drinks. 4.5 hours after we set out, we arrived back at the car, hot, tired and covered in grass seeds (for the most part, the grass was taller than Saf!), but glad to have added so many smilies to our list. We left either Ooshies, safety whistles, or Simpsons Lego minifigs in each one that could fit swag.
This one was a bit different to all the others, and a nice quick find. Only left a small swap, since the allocated section was pretty full already! TFTC!

I felt for the cache; found nothing, so then I looked and spotted it immediately. The most interesting set-up I have seen for a mintie tin. Worth a favourite point (and I don't give many mintie tins favourite points ), for placing a mintie tin where it's unlikely to get wet, rating the size correctly, good coordinates, and for the sheer simple ingenuity of it. Thought went into this. Cache and log are good. TFTC charlotteleclerc.
22,241. Found during a lovely afternoon meander around Cooleman Ridge with minniek.
We enjoyed our walk around here last Monday so decided to come back to knock off another section along Cooleman Ridge. Parked at a now familiar gate and headed off up then down the tracks to this. Once again I'm so glad I've got my Gaitors as the grass is head high. Something a bit different here, and we tried all the obvious spots and - bingo - minniek came up with the prize. A nicely set up cache as well ! Signed the log, replaced the cache, then continued along the track to the next one.
Thanks charlotteleclerc !! Fav Point for a nice location and cache container.

Cooleman ridge is a hidden gem down south, a walkers paradise with no crowds to contend with, unlike mount Taylor nearby, where push and shove is the norm. But it also happens to encourage cachers to keep placing more and more caches due to its vast expanse so I was back again today with Jondub and muggle bro Duff. The views here are A+. Missed this cache a few months ago due to work being done here, today a blue tongue lizard was the only muggle here. Tftc
Cache 6501 on 22 Sep 2020.
After a session at the gym this morning and a very early morning FTF, I decided more exercise was in order and targeted the last unfound caches I know of on Cooleman Ridge. Found seven caches all up in the space of an hour, with over 3kms of walking on a gorgeous spring morning, then back home by 11am for a hearty breakfast!
Slipped through the gate and up the GZ location. Took me two sweeps of the general area before I spotted the hide - nicely done! Fav point comin at ya!
Thanks charlotteleclerc for the cache and the fun!

Very amusing. Not usually a fan of mint tins but that was different. Thanks for the cache.
Sometimes bulldust beats brains - didn't understand any of the clever postings and hint but found the cache anyway! I didn't need to be afraid at all - all good, thanku
Found at 10:29:00 AM with ZimbaW
I have some special date caches myself. They are based on binary of course! This took a few moments to find.

A perfect Canberra winter day for some geocaching on the Ridge with Noikmeister and the Ridgeopup.
Well the landscape here was quite a bit different. NM found it after a bit of a hunt in the likely places while I searched a bit wider, just in case. We swapped palindromes while we searched

The slashes are a bit of a problem for a palindrome...
but hey - it's a remarkable date nonetheless.

Today's mission was to cycle along the Canberra Centennial Trail on Cooleman Ridge picking up all the caches in the area. I took the lower track on my return, to pick up these newer caches. A nice hide here, but it took a while to locate. TFTC.

I have been kind of putting off Cooleman Ridge for a long time as the geofamily occasionally ask me for a nice nearby caching walk....but then they see the hills and balk at the idea.... so, as of this morning there are 16 hides up their waiting for me.
There clearly a few more coming.... 3 or 4, but never mind, they will keep for the next 6-12 months....maybe I will save them for a family walk.
Today I was out with Aquilus1 again, on a beautiful day. A little windy perhaps but it was just so nice out there.

Its always the last corner you look, right?

Looks like there has been some recent construction work around here, so I approached with a little trepidation. But cache in good order. How many of these 'caches' do you get through clc?!! Thanks for bringing me here. An interesting little spot.
Thanks the container is pretty awesome
Took me a while to find but once I found it it was cool

Big Thank You to StrangeTrousers for convincing me to espcape the house for some midweek fun caching. Have missed time out exploring and with the views out today it is understandable who. Stunning place to visit. Took along my walking poles for the hills but hardly needed them due to some clever work from my geobuddy with planning the route. It was the perfect day not to cold, the sun was out and caches found.

#6066 10th for today
Perfect mid-week caching weather today so I dragged CBRChic out of hibernation and headed down to Cooleman Ridge. I never get tired of the views over the back towards the Brindabellas from here. I used to live down this way. I've cached here a few times over the years but now there is a bunch of new caches to make a new trip well worth while. We managed to minimise the amount of climbing with a carefully chosen route and no misses today.
Thanks charlotteleclerc

Checked on the cache today. Yep, all good, not within the construction zone
Apparantly there are construction works at GZ... will disable and find out what is going on
Wasn’t sure if it was in the construction or not. Will come back to try and find again
Today Loci612 and I went to Cooleman Ridge to grab some aches, as Loci612 had many un-found caches up there! In fact it was probably his largest cluster of un-found caches in Canberra!
It was a good afternoon, only saw a couple of other people out and about from distances but we had the place mainly to ourselves to search for each cache unhindered! We ended up with 14 total finds and no DNF's which was an awesome effort!
Signed the Cache logbook DSD, Thanks to all the CO's

**This Cache:**
A crafty little container, using a container that is not always loved but making it into something a bit more unique! I certainly loved it, and this is the acceptable hide to use this container for! So well done, a good demonstration of use for these containers!
Thanks

It had been over a week since I last went out to hike in a quiet location and get out of the work / home routine so decided it was time for another isolation exercise afternoon

In these uncertain times it's still legal to exercise, and fortunately geocaching is one of those pastimes that you can still enjoy without being scrutinized. There was some work being carried out at GZ, so passed this one by. Next time.
Of course it was in the last but one spot I checked. Always seems to happen that way. A nice and unusual container. TFTC clc

A lovely easy 3.1km walk around the ridge to pick up this good series of caches. A cool day with rain in the distance where we could see where the fires have ravaged Mt Tennant. TFTC charlotteleclerc.

A quick find this morning after picking up a few other caches in the the area. thanks
Chooo ooo [FTF] with Aquilus1 and dty73. Arrived here, and thought that this structure was a little odd... Indeed - someone had left the lights on underground. But even more dramatic was that flames could still be seen to the south. And of course - one has to love the cache naming convention! - I wonder where I have seen that before .
*FTF* with Tankengine and Aquilus1.
We had been at another ftf when this cache popped up. We weren’t going to go, but then decided why not.
So off we dashed to the car dodging traffic (not really) but jumped in the car and took off.
As we drove down the road a kangaroo jumped out in front of the car in front of us. Luckily we weren’t too close like earlier tonight when we had left home, but that’s in another log. Anyway they knocked down the kangaroo, but it got up and bounced back toward the fence on the side of the road, got flustered and so jumped back in front of us and across the road and up and over the other fence into the paddocks. Phew!
The poor lady in the car pulled over to the side. We stopped on the road next to her and told her the kangaroo was fine and jumped away. She was relieved, but still a little shaken. She went around the other side of the car to check for damage. We hoped she was fine as it didn’t look like she sustained any damage, but with cars coming up behind us and an ftf waiting we continued onto GZ.
We parked at the closest spot right behind Tankengine’s car. We thought he would beat us, but luckily we still got there in time for him to add us to the log.
The fire on the horizon though just looked morbidly amazing. We can’t see it now from the side so easily. Seeing it tonight was just that little reminder to me that’s it’s no over yet. Tftc Charoletteleclerc!!!

*FTF* With Tankengine and dty73. With dty73 we had just left a new cache when this was published, great timing! Dashed across hoping that the walk across the reserve might deter some, but not all so we met up with Tankengine! The view across to the fires which glowed in the half light was a bit of a 'wow' moment as we reached the top of the little rise. An interesting GZ but we didn't stay about long, a new cache northside was calling...
Thanks for the cache charlotteleclerc.
