Logs
DNF despite a good rummage. Have messaged the CO given the amount of recent DNF logs and see if we can return for redemption (hoping it hasnt been muggled).
Not today. Disappointed as the container sounded cool.Never seen anneel pass before so that was cool
Perhaps a hit and more direct location as it appears to be on the water or on the side. The obvious choice would be the table. But nothing to find.
This was my second visit to this cache. The first time I had to walk straight past as people were lunching in the sun. This time it was runners and dog walkers who interrupted my search. Careful stealth required.Cache found, log signed, all returned safely. A really creative container. Thank you.
I couldnt stop to search as people were lunching in the sun. A lovely spot to sit. I will visit again.
We were there for ages! Ducks kept annoying us while we were looking. Where was it!?!
A quick find as there were no muggles around. Had quite a mallard crowd around me while sitting signing the log - all hoping for a morsel? Log nice and dry, and tucked away again in its special container. TFTC
This months Wheel of Challenges challenge is about finding caches of all the different types. After a bit of analysis I found that Upper Hutt had at least one each of most of the types I needed, and I had not yet found them. So that's where I went. Once I was finished in Upper Hutt I headed down the valley for some refreshments, and as is often the way I ended up looking for another couple of caches, this was one of them.
Last time I was here, I could not find a cache. It was very frustrating. Since then I have seen many logs come in with no indication of any trouble finding it at all. Today was my redemption day. I did bring a previous finder along with me, just in case, but as it happens when I arrived the cache was hiding in exactly the spot I thought it should be, but that I just could not see it in last time I was here.
A very popular spot for ducks and duck feeders, but otherwise all is good here.
---
Thanks to Bax001 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

Cool place and packaging! Lots of bird life here - black swans, pūkeko and loads of ducks!
Out caching with NZ_B today to find a few caches towards the new solstice challenge starting today. We found ourselves along this lovely waterway. Took a little bit of searching but it was a nice spot to be. A lovely effort on the cache design and blends in beautifully with its surrounds. Thank you for that effort Bax001 - I enjoyed the find.
Another beautiful spot to sit in during summer. I liked the mosaic art work surrounding the table -relates well to the area. The ducks were very interested in us and hopeful we would feed them -we didn’t. I saw the eel slide but not any eels -wrong time of the day/year perhaps.
A good search found the container -favourite for a different container.
Out and about with Itchyfeet2020 having an easy morning of caching in an area we have not visited much.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Bax001.

Took longer than it should have due to no hint but in the end the coords were spot on and satellite view helped
Fav point for the great tile work incorporating various animals found here.

Hunted around for a while but eventually found it. Luckily had Wayno with me who is an excellent cache spotter. Clever design of the cache!
Went and made sure this cache was still here after a couple of DNF logs. Can confirm cache is still here in the exact place as I had originally put it. Thanks and Enjoy
What a lovely spot, surrounded by ducks, wish I’d brought some dinner for them, thanks to Just LookingOO for driving me out here to get the last E I need for this month’s challenge.
Thanks for the cache

We had such a good time yesterday in and around Lower Hutt that we decided to go back over again today for another crack.
Cache # 18 today. I have heard of eels slithering considerable distances through the dewy or wet grass at night but had never seen or heard of anything quite like this. Quickly found the cache right where the GPS said it should be then sat down at the table to sign the log while checking out this eel pass contraption and chatting to a couple of friendly local ducklings.

The ducks were been fed while we were here, but were able to sneak in and sign the log, tftc Bax001
What a cool spot! Took us a while as didn’t know where to look but awesome when we found it!!
Replaced the Cache. If you find it, please return it to exactly where you have found it as this cache seems to move around a bit.
Thanks
Enjoy
- plus a picture of the ducks

Couldn’t find this one either. But disappointed, owner might have to double check where it’s hidden cause we looked everywhere
A nice quick find thanks. A better result than the last time we looked, damp with people around.
Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we cruised up to Ohakune to see a carrot.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

I stopped by this cache a few days ago then saw that it was a size regular so left it along for a regular dot day. Well, today *is* a regular dot day, and on top of that I was working at work today, so I cycled past here on hte way home. Darn - this cache loves trackables nd I forgot to put any in.
Re the eel pass - two things - firstly, why is there a dam here anyway? and secondly I am aware, and have actually seen, that eels will travel quite some way across land. But I don't know what drives them to do this - it might not be that their way forward is blocked, and they might not want to get up on land and be hassled by all the ducks here.

#1742. Caching afternoon in the Hutt to build up my November numbers, and head towards the Peak of Kilimanjaro. A dead duck lying near GZ nearly put me off, but I persevered and finally had the cache in hand. A nearby muggle father & daughter feeding ducks (live ones) took no notice. GB Leader helped in the search.
Log quite damp as it’s not bagged. Tftc Bax001.

Saw lots of ducks and muggles feeding them. Nice little picnic table, many hog walkers passing. Logs seemed to say inaccurately co- ordinates were spot on. Larger pottel than expected.
Hmmm, well I know you can't beat Wellington on a good day, but today wasn't quite one of those. It had been threatening to rain for most of the day, but a friend and I decided we still fancied getting a bit of fresh air. We managed to get about an hour of caching in before we decided we had earned a well deserved coffee break at the nearby garden centre
An inquisitive duck walked with us part of the way from where we parked towards GZ. But we had no bread on us today so she lucked out and waddled off in disgust.
My GPS had me a few metres away from where Jus3 made the find, but otherwise no real problems here. With no-one else around, we were able to sit and take our time signing the log before everything was replaced exactly as found. Thank you for placing, and maintaining, this cache.

Found out with TharntheHalken on a sunny Saturday. All good in cache, tftc! FP for the eel passage!
Quick easy find though the cache container was quite exposed. Hid it a bit better so not so exposed. Plenty of ducks and Pukeho but no sign of any eels.TFTC.
After DNFs at three out of four of the CO's other caches in this area it was a relief to find this one.
Took a few minutes as I initially had the wrong idea about the type of hide.
Ducks and pukekos were disappointed that I didn't feed them. I happened to have some pikelets in my bag but such foods (and particularly bread) are no longer recommend as duck food.
So if you want to feed them check out more suitable options!

A fairly quick find at an unusual feature. It would be interesting to see the eels using it. TFTC
12th cache! Easy find beautiful spot too got to sit with my son for a little bit thank you!
Found on a lovely day in Lower Hutt with Flowerydaze. A neat little spot where we stopped for our picnic lunch, such a quiet spot. TFTC Bax001
Thank you so much for placing a cache here Bax001. The co-ords were spot on and the big cache was quickly found. It was a perfect place for Talla64 and me to stop and have our picnic lunch. I liked the mosaics around the seating area. Very nice.
Mum is helping me log all my caches that I haven't logged yet.Found with Mum (LL113) and Dad (GNARwhal).
What a gorgeous wee spot. Sat for a minute and took in the scenery. Had a friend come and investigate what we were doing. Swapped some swag. TFTC.
One of six caches we located in Lower Hutt today, mostly near the Waiwhetu Stream. Looked in what we thought was the ‘obvious’ spot(s) here but without success. Searched a little further afield and it didn’t take long to come up with the goods. #3610. TFTC.
Nice finding!! Didn’t have a pen with me. The ducks here are somehow expecting humans to feed them!
