We are on a caravanning trip around Australia seeing the sights and finding a few caches along the way. After visiting the museum we decided to do the Western Loop. This was our first cache we stopped at today. After a bit of searching we located this one. Thanks for hiding and maintaining this cache for us to find.
Spending some time caching around the NSW/ACT southern tablelands with lots of side trips. TFTC.A quick trip to pick up Boaham and off to the event with a trad grab on the way.Took a while to spot this one. Nice.
Great spring weather for a walk with cachemetwerking and we had some success in this area, only leaving one cache unlogged ?? First find of the day. Took us a few minutes of searching but a quick find after reviewing the past logs. Juuuuust visible. TFTC
Geogeneve spotted this one after we looked through the previous logs (and avoided falling into the lake) - TFTC
After a CITO nearby we stopped here to collect this trad. A bit of searching then the hide revealed itself. All in good order. Thanks Tankengine. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to Traditional Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
I've been saving up the Denman Drive mini-series for achievable streak fodder, and seeing as though I'm now entering a stage where such things can be consumed relatively safely, I cast my eyes towards this little wander for a few straightforward days! One final sunny afternoon walk down this path led me to a slightly more exposed location (provided the fisherman several hundred metres off was paying any attention to me!)The past logs seemed to suggest this one could be difficult, but a few clues were gleaned that prompted me to follow my instincts and spy the glint of a cache soon enough. It's only a small victory but nonetheless pretty nice to get this trio ticked off given the frequency at which I travel down this road and have had to leave these ones aside! Thanks to Tankengine for this hide!
DNF @ 4:50 PMMy plan was to collect this series while waiting for a nearby CITO today. As the late great Meatloaf said: Two out of three ain't bad.I shall have to try a bit harder next time I come this way. But I was starting to get a bit tense about controlling the Ridgeopup so close to a bicycle commuting highway as peak hour approaches.thanks for the challenge, Tankengine
Out on a bike ride and decided to treat myself with a bit of treasure hunting. This had me searching for a sec until I stepped down and looked again. TFTC Tankengine!
5.47pmAttending Mega from Qld and today have joined RoddyC hatzofff and Imbunda for another day of geocaching in Canberra. No luck for us here today. Probably too tired from all the caching we have done today. Next time.
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia we arrived in Canberra to attend the Canberra Walking Festival. Today is the first day of walking. This cache was not found during the first day of walking.**Tankengine**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Yesterday we drove from the Blue Mountains to Canberra where we wil be staying for three nights. We are here to participate in the Aussie Peace Walk. Today is the first day of this IML walk. We are lucky the weather is lovely. A clear blue sky and an exuberantly shining sun, but not too hot. Since the schedule it a bit thight for us there is not much time for geocaching but we cant restist having a look for this one. Unfortunately we were not able to find this one in the short time we allowed ourselves for the search.
Happy New Year As the seconds countdown to 2024, its time to reflect on the year of 2023. What better way of doing this, than logging my last GC finds for 2023. Some geocaching highlights for the year were: the Ballarat Geo-Tour, completed my first D/T loop, 1000+ finds for the year, finding GC7A (a 2000 cache) and of course the places I visited and the Geocachers I enjoyed it with. Todays adventures included finding caches in various locations around Canberra, completing my first D/T loop, avenging a DNF and enjoying the Canberra Fireworks. My last find for the year was GC3TE06. Unless stated otherwise, the caches were found in good condition and were quick finds. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTE & TFTCs I still had a little bit of time before the fireworks so I decided on finding these two caches. This was the first of two and a nice quick find here. Now onto the next one.
Too good for me today. I searched from different angles, heights, and locations. I asked the lizard for help, but nope, l couldn't find this cache.
TFTC. Wasn’t sure where to start my search. Had a look at the area and decided I needed a different perspective so changed my position and the cache revealed itself.
I initially scanned GZ on the way out to Groot's Grotto, but as nothing stood out - and discouraged by the lack of recent finds - I walked away after a couple of minutes.
Upon return, I did my best to take TE's perspective on GZ - and quickly had the cache in hand. Log is a little damp, but still signable.
TFTC!

Guessing it is totally there!
We were out on the bicycles and stopped here for a good search, but far too well hidden for us today. We will give this a try again on another day.

Thanks to tankengine for the live assistance on the chat about where this was. I did send one large boulder into the brown waters of LBG in an effort to retrieve and definitely got my stretches on to get to the cache
Day 3 in Canberra already, still going strong and loving the caches here. Another cracker of a day only makes it more enjoyable!

Finally found this one. That's tricky. I was searching elsewhere then saw a spot that required further investigation. Then I had the cache in hand, soon signed and replaced. TFTC Tankengine!
#12495 - 2:06:00 PM; The geohoney was undertaking some pre-Christmas retail therapy, so after dropping her off, I headed off to collect some of the caches around Black Mountain and the inner suburbs to tick a few more boxes towards my current range of personal challenges that I'm working on. I'd had a quick look for this one a few weeks ago without success, but with a bit more time available today, set off for a more thourough examination. Ended up using the PAF option, which confirmed I was looking in the right spot (NOT the one involving blackbverries!). Returned to the hunt only to discover I'd virtually had my hand on the cache container, but for some recent weed which had flourished due to recent rains right at GZ! Nice to tick this one off today. TFTC Tankengine
Ding ding ding!
The bell sounds the start of round two. Today the location if the cache was no match for Injuryman. TFTC!

Was not able to find this one, but I'm sure it's still there, will be back at some point!
With a bit of spare time and keen to tick another off one of my lists, headed this way after a find on Black Mountain. Sat and checked a few spots before expanding my search slightly and finding the cache soon thereafter. Thanks again Tankengine.
Lovely day for a stroll down a mountain, we decided to attempt the hidden valley trail up Black Mountain.
After finishing the others we decided to head to this little trio before going to the car.
Took a bit of searching here before coming up with the goods.
This certainly was one very busy cycle path.
Thanks for the hide Tankengine and thanks Rapidlywild for the fun day out and about.

After a long dry spell from caching (with the random here and there), plans were made with the FFLL ladies to go for a wander using our allowed 4 hours of outdoor exercise. We decided to head down Black Mountain to give the Hidden Valley mini series a crack. It has been a while since I have ventured onto this mountain so it was good to get out again. The weather was great and fortunately, it wasnt wet underfoot.
After making our way down the mountain, we decided to grab this cache as we were nearby as the car was conveniently parked at the base waiting for us. We had a little bit of gogo juice left in the legs, so wandered along this very BUSY walkway and collected the 3 Denman Drive caches. All were found, signed and replaced as found. Of the 3, I think this one was the hardest to locate.
Thanks for the cache placement Tankengine and thanks to the FFLL ladies for a lovely day out on Black Mountain

Out for a little caching on my two hour window for adventure! Lockdown has bought a totally different approach to caching with the introduction of homework! Much time for homework in fact. Therefore many more puzzles solved, both as a solo and collective effort. Thanks to my fellow geo buddies for assistance when needed.
And in between were a few traditionals, though not nearly as many of them left these days
Logs all in good condition unless otherwise noted.
Thanks to Tankengine for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment!

On the 15th of September I went out to do one of the WhereIGos and when I finished had to wait to get the coordinates for GZ. I decided to get some other caches while waiting and managed to find Denman Drive II and III, but this one eluded me. I mentioned it to Barb2e and she found it that same day in the afternoon. Apparently it was only centimetres away from where I had searched a couple of times in the morning.
Today I had a better idea of where to look (again), I just had to wait for muggles to disappear over the horizon.

Glad of extra eyes to find this one. Needed to be at the right angle to see the telltale signs. Tftc
I walked and biked around this mini serie few times, but always gad a muggle company.
Today I finally ride around myself so devided to grab these 3 caches.
Here I was bit lost and it took me way too long.
But once I looked from a corect angle and spotted "it", it was matter of moments to have the CIH
Sneaky hide for me.

After a dash around the lake with Fox in Jox, we decided to grab these trads, a much slower and sedate ride to these ones! This one took a bit of looking as the coords pointed us a few metres along the path but we both figured that the CO would more likely put it in one particular place, and indeed it was there!
Thanks Tankengine for the cache and the fun!

After riding like a maniac around the lake with Annie, we decided to collect this one. Took a bit of searching, but got there in the end. TFTC TE
A straightforward find at GZ on an early morning walk along the lake. I’m not sure this is exactly where it was meant to be - it’s no longer attached to anything, but otherwise in good condition. Thank you Tankengine.
This took me a good 10 minutes of searching. Not at all where I expected it to be. Lots of cyclists and walkers out and about to day. So made finding even slower. Telltale signs of a TS cache spotted finally. Thanks for the little adventure
There were a few bike riders out this afternoon but none came past while finding and replacing the cache.
decide to come out to get some air and sun.. was meant to come here for awhile but finally i did it today sign and placed back where belong.. TFTC Tankengine
A quick find while grabbing the final of some other caches.
It was just sitting under a rock near a small rock that had fallen. Might pay to check how it was originally placed.

# 6237 I decided to do a great circuit of LBG today, primarily to complete mtbikeroz's adventure lab and to find a few extra caches along the way. In the spirit of mtbikeroz's cache, I was on my bike today and parked out at the Jerrabomberra wetlands. I managed to find quite a few before disaster hit with my phone battery packing it in just after half way into the adventure lab. Oh well, still not a bad afternoon effort.
This one was a bit trickier after the last few.
Thanks TE

I decided to get some caches around this area this morning before heading home to binge the AFL (so glad that it's back). After getting the caches in the middle of the Glenloch Interchange, I walked over and tried this series out - after all, despite the high terrain, the bike path looked very nice to wander along, which it was! I actually tried this cache back in summer without success, however today I have realised it was better to do the easier caches beforehand because it gave me a better idea on what terrain to expect. This hide was unique to the others (and was very clever), but the morale was a lot higher than last time (also due to the cooler weather), which meant that I had it found reasonably quickly. Beautiful views on a lovely day. TFTC TE!
Was doing a maintenance run replacing my last disabled cache..... huzzah, they are ALL enabled now. Saw this nice little series just a bit further around the corner so mosied on over and grabbed them. All were found reasonably easily
Found with a few mates of mine including Ransom29 while making our way to Black Mountain Peninsula to get my beard shaped and trimmed! One of them is a professional beard trimmer (at least that's what we like to call him) and he offered to do up my beard at a nearby park
Continued our walk from the previous cache. It helps that we come under the guise of a group of young adults messing around - distracting passing muggles as we make the find! Some more tricky terrain around GZ, but soon had the cache in hand. Cheers Tankengine.

Decided to scoot around the lake as it was such a nice day completing the cyclist wherigo but these were in my sights. Actually I needed much warmer clothes as it was pretty chilly. But the view was awesome as the lake was like glass. All good with cache. TFTC Tankengine
Its all in the aspect! Took a little while & two sets of eyes certainly helped! TFTC
Today was a day I needed a few caches to meet caches found per day challenge, so after work I came down to Lake Burly griffin to get the caches I needed.
I took the scooter out for a run from Black mountain peninsula to get these three along the shore
Thanks for the cache Tankengine

Parked off Lady Denman in the recommended parking starting at #3 first. A beautiful still day and lovely walking by the lake along the path. Had to watch out for the many bikes, runners and walkers, and some of them surely fly along! Still, a stunning day to be out and loved walking along this short but enjoyable path. Thanks for the Cache Tankengine.
Just when I was about to get a bit cocky about where this might be and arrived to find a very different hide type. A bit of a look and was sure about this though and made my way to a likely spot and the cache was soon spotted.

Found on our second attempt. Much fewer people around this afternoon. Managed to stay dry!
Passed up on this one a few weeks back due to nearby fishing muggles. This time it was all clear and fortunately soon spotted the cache and managed to sign the log without getting wet. TFTC Tankengine.
Part 2 of today's outing was a nice walk around part of the Lake we don't often visit, and find a few caches! Slightly harder this one!
Of course! Maintaining our separation we navigated what at times was a busy bike path. A nice little series of caches. Thanks Tankengine.

I completed one of the West Lake Loops but then coordinates did not pop up so I sent an email to the CO to take pity on me . I decided to find this cache while waiting for a reply. TFTH
Chilly, windy, but still an enjoyable walk today to find some geocaches (with my hand sanitiser in my pocket ); just under 5.5 kilometres. I am pleased I wore my woolly hat and duffel coat.
This was a very tricky cache to find. I searched for some time before I rang for help. Very well hidden cache and the hardest cache to find today. The cache and log are good. TFTC Tankengine.

Found with [@Decrypter](http://coord.info/PR75QXD). We decided to head out for a walk and had this cache as our destination. We parked about one and a half km away and headed to GZ. There were quite a few cyclists out so we walked on the grass when we could. Once at GZ we started searching, but our units didn't settle down. There were a few lizards and water dragons out sunning themselves. After some minutes of fruitless searching D spotted the well hidden cache. Log stamped and signed and we headed back to the cars. **Today:**
Itching to cache today so checked out the map and decided on a list I could hopefully achieve whilst the weather was so nice, to get outdoors and go for a walk or two...!
Ended up finding caches near Belconnen Way, Lady Denman Drive and also Yarralumla! Cleaning up any that I still hadn't found along the way. Was lucky to not see too many other people on my adventures, just the odd bike rider on some of the trails I went too! I did notice the Yarra Kebab shop was packed with people waiting outside for takeaway's however as I drove past... crazy times!

**This Cache:**
It is certainly not overly often you see a mini cache series by Tankengine! Even more so in the city! So was quite surprised to see these and decided it would be a good place to go for a short walk and hunt.
All three caches in this mini series were located very quickly without too much hassle, just had to wait out a couple muggles! Great to see some caches along this section of a very popular walk. Well done and thanks for placing!

We haven't done a run/bike ride around LBG for ages, but today seemed like a good day, so we headed out. On the off-chance, we decided to see if there were any new caches on our route, and these three came up!
We only had our phone GPS, so it was jumping around a lot, resulting in some unnecessary blackberry scratches, but we finally found a likely spot, and sure enough, there it was! Thanks for the cache TE!

20,140. Found during a meandering circuit around Canberra today.
With several hours up my sleeve today I picked some new caches to try and some long-ago solved ones to finally knock off. Still with a bit of time left I targeted these three caches. Parking at the rowing end I walked along collecting them with no problems and with few cyclists to avoid. Lots of local wildlife out as well. This was tricky to keep balance.

It was a Happy Valentines Day bikkozz I found a coupla caches. This was the first of them. Silly me chose a time of day when lots of commuter cyclists were heading home, so I had a few bells tinkling behind me.
At GZ I saw an interesting hiding spot, but the cache was not there. I moved about one metre across, and noticed a couple more interesting locations. Lo and behold, the geocache was hidden in one of those places. Cha-ching! Chalk up another find.
My next target was a LARGE KittyKatch cache, so I headed off in that direction.

This was my first day of riding along this path on the way to work. I’m now driving half way to work and riding the rest. My ride is an electric bike which means I just ride in my work gear. So my footwear wasn’t ideal for this cache but it was thankfully a pretty quick find being a class TE cache. Yes there are plenty of fishermen around here - I saw two today. I actually caught the only carp I’ve ever caught not from far from here at the mouth of Sullivan’s creek. Sorry I forgot a pen. I’ll sign tomorrow but here is a pic of the log. Tftc
My kayak had almost been forgotten in the backyard due to the heat waves/bush fires/ smoke haze so this long weekend was a great time to dust off the cobwebs and take it out. This was the 2nd of 9 dotted around the lake , near the shoreline, and all up it ended up being about 6.6km.
This was a park and grab, from a kayak. The water was very calm and yep, co-ords spot on. Tftc.

Continued on in the reverse direction, lots of lovely water dragons sunning themselves, one even decided to play chicken with me on the bike path ! After weeks of dry hot weather the humidity was definitely noticeable, but not complaining ! Can see why this area is popular for fishing, but according to the fisherman at DDIII it can be quite perilous for your lure with all the rocks and drift wood! The drop off is quite apparent, suspect this is one of the deepest parts of the lake. Luckily I didn’t become a victim of the Denman Dropoff with some of the loose rocks around GZ. Had to carefully navigate and found the cache after only a few brief minutes.

*FTF* with TikvaNZ Delta Response Team, Dino & Flintstones.
I got the notifications a little late, but wasn’t really worrying about going out until contacted by DRT who encouraged me to come out on a warm night.
I drove to the carpark of number 3 and was beaten by TikvaNZ who had signed the log and was ready to head for this cache. He kindly waited for me to catch up then we were off to the next one.
We got the last one quickly and dashed off to this one. As we approached we recognise one of the figures standing by thankfully searching the area still.
Not long later we found the cache and the dash was done. Nice to finish the ftf trio with a group.
We soon all went our seperate ways. TikvaNZ, DRT and I headed back toward number 3. DRT and I decided to pick it up while on the way back to our cars. Tftc Tankengine!!!

I noticed the new challenge caches being published, and considered whether to attempt a FTF on one of them. I decided not to, then the first of this series was published. Without hesitation I rushed out the door. On the way two more were published. Not sure if anyone was ahead of me, I decided to do these in reverse order. After a successful FTF on the first one, I came out of the bushes and noticed DTY73 heading my way, so I waited for her to catch up before we headed to the second one for another FTF. Onwards to this one. 3 others were already here, but hadn't yet found it. DTY73 soon had the cache in hand. TFTC.
