Nice location, once we saw that smooth sloping rocks on the hill side, we thought bet you it's there, so we knew this wasn't going to be fun rock hopping that distance, and sure enough it was tftc but could have been a lot closer
We are strong believers that a geocache should not just be a plastic container at the base of a tree but be either of an interesting design or take us to an interesting place. This one did just that thanks to the interesting information in the description. As for the cache itself this Humphrey Bogart quote kept coming in to my head as I walked back after making the find - "Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine" Why - because of all the beaches along all of the Great Ocean Road, on a horrible day, why did two elderly fishermuggles have to be right in front of GZ.They watched me as I rockhopped to them. One called out to me, probably wondered what I was up to, but I couldn't hear what he was saying due to the wind so after I'd discreetly returned the cache container I walked down to them and was going to explain about geocaching but they didn't ask me what I was up to so I didn't bother and we just had a short conversation about fishing. They were just packing up to go so poor timing here as well. Thanks juc cacher for an interesting cache and story.
Dag 1 Australi: Great Ocean Road part 1. Hier even gestopt, gewandeld en gecachet. Gemakkelijk gevonden; TFTC!
It was a bit of a scramble to get to GZ, but when we got there some caching sense regarding tides and strong seas kicked in and narrowed the search area.We headed off down the Great Ocean Road for a few days for a belated wedding anniversary celebration. The weather was kind and the scenery along the road spectacular. We based ourselves in Lorne and then tripped around checking out the local places. While we had visited the area some time ago it was great to spend more time exploring the area, and of course the caching.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache juc_cacher.**SKI Pair****
On our road trip to the Mega. After message a local cacher yesterday he recommended this cache. We loved reading the story so it became a must do as we headed towards Apollo Bay. Ms M isnt great at rock hoping these days but she got to gz without too much trouble.A quick find and sign and off back to the car. +FP for the interesting story. TFTC
Back in the area again. Decided to have a crack at finding this one again as it was Mia last time we tried. Found nice and easily around 7am, not a muggle in sight. Nice back story. TFTC
Had fun finding it as well as exploring the many surrounding rock pools. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes
Nice spot! How the Korean sailors ever thought theyd land a boat here in high seas is beyond me!
Found on a windy rainy day. Container is a smaller 250g Sistema now. Thanks for a good hunt
We know this story so well as locals. We were here when the Pong Su visited and we all have stories to tell about it. Our friend even started a business selling Pong Su t shirts. Thanks for the cache.

Unfortunately, nothing seems to have happened, so the cache is being temporarily disable - see here: [**Geocache Health Score.**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713)
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days,** so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.
#What you need to do:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache** - once checked, place an Owner Maintenance log and then enable the cache.
- **Place A Write Note Log** - indicating a date when you expect it will be restored.
- **Adopt Out or Archive** - depending on whether you want it kept or for it to disappear.
Full details for each of the above choices can be found at [**GEOCACHE MAINTENANCE**]( https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/Victoria) on the Regional Policies page.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of the above. Well, when the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, or there is no acknowledgment as requested above, it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned. [xx(]
It would be far better if you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

I'm currently interstate and will tend to this one when I get back in November.
After 30 minutes of scratching around. No luck. Will try again in a couple of days while in the area.

A lovely east find after a lovley walk along the roacks.

We’ve coincidentally been listening to the podcast about the Pong Su and was excited to have this cache pop up on our journey back from Apollo Bay. Terrifying to think about ending up out on the rocks here in the dark!
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Hubby Wespro had to do the rocky scramble for me while I took lots of photos of the beautiful greens in the ocean
*The Post May Day Apollo Bay Or Bust Adventure #13*
The mighty adventure is over, and we are homeward bound. There's barely enough daylight for another cache or two. This one involved a beach rock scramble, so earns a fave from me.
Thanks heaps for the cache, Juc Cacher!

Enjoyed the trek to GZ, as we've had a great intro to rock hopping from earlier adventures, and the view is simply stunning!
Had a but if a search around wondering what exactly it was that we might be looking for. Took a trek in to the blackberry's (not recommended!!) and the bushes, before heading in another direction and trying a different tactic.
Cache was soon spotted and we were soon adding our names to the log. Container and log in good condition. Everything replaced as found, including the camo that may have been intended for the cache.

I was on a mission that took me to Skenes Creek and on the Journey home I just had to stop here and turn this into a smiley. But in my hurry to get out the door I forgot to throw my caching boots in the car so I was left only with the sandals that I had on. Not exactly the right shoes for the rocks here, Oh well nothing I can do about it now.
Three quarters of the way to GZ from the car I realized I had left the pen in the car. I better hope there is a pen in the car or this will take longer than expected. Finally I managed to get to GZ and after a little hunting I found my prize. Luckily there was a pen in the cache so I was able to sign the log and didn't have to hobble my way back to the car again.
Thank you juc_cacher for bringing me here

Cache hardly needs archiving due to a snake sighting. There wouldn't be too many caches left in play if that was a legit reason.
Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to search longer as we have a tight schedule on our journey along the coast to Melbourne. So I had to give up Very nice drive on the great ocean road, we love it. Greetings from Switzerland

Thanks for the cache and walk! High seas today but an easier find. Hard walk!
After hiking and camping along the Great Ocean Walk for the last few days, I wasn't ready to leave this beautiful area. It was nice to spend an extra day exploring the rock shelfs and hearing about the ships.
This cache was a little leap of faith with the tall grass. It may have been a little silly jumping in too as on my way back to the stairs a snake slithered by.
Thanks for the story and scenic stop.

Found without the need to climb into the scratchy surrounds. Had time tonight to stop on way home from Wye. I remember the incident well. We had seen this strange ship too close to shore and wondered what it was. The weekend after, we had police searching the beaches at Wye and Sep Creek.
Longer walk than we thought it would be but manageable. I love rock pools so I was very happy and safe many, many crabs!
After thinking about tides we found the cache being guarded by a snake! Luckily my boyfriend is Crocodile Dundee and we all came out unscathed. My next mission is to buy some trades that are worth looking at for caches, none of this rubbish we see so often. Thanks for the cache!

Great yarn, we walked around the spot wondering where everything went down. Keen to listen to the podcast.
Log is fairly damp, but still managed to sign.

This was a great spot to stop and stretch the legs before a weekend of r&r by the beach (that is, until lockdown was announced the following day!). Enjoyed reading the story on the way and an enjoyable walk along to the cache. A fav for the history. TFTC
Geo hubby found after a short search lovely spot we sat on the rock and watch the waves thanks
On my way down to Apollo Bay for a maintenance run and stopped to check this guy out.
I remember the story well but even though I looked today I like others could find no loot.
The GPS took me straight to the well hidden cache, noticed a rock out of place among all the others and was quickly signing the nice dry log.
Thanks for placing.

No dead bodies or 50kg packages of heroin laying around on the beach today, just rain and wind. Coordinates were a few metres off but that just adds to the challenge. TFTC.
A short weekend getaway to this beautiful and familiar area to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. This was the the main target for the weekend as just prior to COVID (on LeeLee's birthday) we visited Fighter World in Newcastle where one of the F111's A8-148 is located. (LL loves fighter jets ) Lee Lee used her charm and was lucky enough to be granted access to sit in the pilot seat of one the fighters who took down the Pong Su.
The Pong Su was just not scuttled, it was used as target practice by 2 RAAF F-111C fighter/bombers. They each dropped a GBU-10 Paveway II Laser Guided Bomb, which sunk the Pong Su. A great piece of history we have been fortunate to see full circle.
Miss these aircraft at the air shows.
TFTC a def FP.
TB dropped.

Good spot, can see why you need it to be low tide. Absolutely stunning. Thanks a bunch.
Found with J*Delux and Purple_ Octopus. Only 2 bandaids required after this rock hopping adventure! Thanks. Added a couple of small items to the inventory.
Of all the places to land a ship I do remember the story and it's still odd!
So, I seemed to take the most difficult route to GZ and it took me forever. Found the cache safe and in order, logged and replaced. Walked back on the larger rocks, much easier!

Thank you juc_cacher, for creating, placing and maintaining this cache. I have enjoyed finding it and visiting this spot.
Fp worthy.. great experience! Got some great shots of my husband at this location! Thanks for the experience. I do think that the Terrain rating could be higher.

Out for a coastal drive on a warm afternoon, and thought, I'll just check if there is a cache along here I haven't found. Sure enough, just 2.8 kms away, so drove to the designated parking area. Then looked, 158 ms of rock hopping, terrain 2.0, am I up for it? A careful walk to GZ, over there looks a likely spot, and sure enough after exploring several hides the prize was soon in hand. Took TB. TFTC.
TFTC. We had so much fun. On a cache maintenance day we got side tracked and decided to clean up the caches we hadn't done between home and Lorne. Being rock hounds we loved scrambling to this cache, although it probably took much longer than it should have due to checking out the local geology. Cache was an easy find. Thanks for the fun. And the yarn!
Haven't been caching or even gone away for a long time chance to go caching for an afternoon while away, had a TB for a long time also and what a great place for it to visit and be part of the story, thanks for this, what an infamous place then, TFTC and,, cheers, DD
Suscoe headed out today to enjoy a trip to Apollo Bay along the coast and we returned via the inland route.
Bass Strait was calm with some small clean waves breaking here and there.
It was a pleasant day for caching, mild temperatures, almost no wind and a nice bit of cloud cover. The weather in Apollo Bay was interesting as there was quite solid drizzle on the hills but the Bay was almost dry, just the odd spot of wet stuff.
Thanks to juc_cacher for this hide, a pleasant but rocky walk to GZ. There are a couple of fairly large old tree trunks on the shore up near the high tide line.
We remember this saga quite well.
Strangely there was a small boat not far off shore, we suspect they were fishing, not sure for what though!!!!!!!!!

After a hard morning spent out exploring hidden waterfalls in the Otways, it was nice to see the Ocean! Dense bush with lots of mud! This made for a nice sea change. I love this part of the world. Thanks for the history here and the quick find
I started the podcast. Really need to give it a listen.
On the way here I tried to give Chris and Anikano a short version of the story.
A ship crashed. Had heroin in it or something.
Must be down here.
Was nice to walk along the rugged coastline and grab the cache.
Makes you wonder which way there were planning on going.
Maybe I need to listen to the podcast.

Don’t forget to bring a treasure for this box, and it was a few metres away from the map marker. Beautiful little spot! TFTC
Searched for soooo long for this but couldn't find it anywhere. It needs a clue!
Travelling along the Great Ocean Road. Stunning landscapes, beautiful beaches and cliffs, lovely wildlife, good food... and, of course, some nice caches.
We loved the rocky beach and the walk to the cache, a classic hide. Interesting story, too.
TFTC juc_cacher. A favourite point from us.

Very intersting story this one.
Had a mate that was driving by and witnessed the arrest that took place nearby in Lorne.
As for the cache it was a fairly quick find.
It's amazing the diferent types of rock that are on this beach area.

Found It.....While down in the area getting a FTF we continued on our way west. After missing the park and heading further around we made a quick U turn and dashed back. After parking i set off as MrsH_3 decided to sit this one out, Making my way to G.Z. without injuring myself i soon had a likely hiding spot and sure enough Bingo. So with the log signed we continued our journey homeward. Thanks juc_cacher for the cache (sorry for the late log just realised we forgot to log it while planing a trip)
Find it.
I let in this cach a treasure that I just brought from Tasmania. I forgot to hide it there. I hope that the next person who will carry it will enjoy it as much as I did. Please make it travel or bring it back on its island.

Starting our day at Phantom Falls in the rain with Dyst0pia getting some good slow shutter photos we then headed on to Teddys Lookout to do the newish earthcache. While we were in the car park the notification came through for Pong Su, what were the chances? So after gathering the information needed and some more photos we headed back down to the GOR towards the cache albeit slowly due to the Learner in front of us. This gave us time to read about the tales of the Pong Su and the apprehension of the baddies. As we arrived at the pull off area coincidently the CO posted on social media that it would be a good day for a drive down the Ocean Rd.....well it certainly was, despite the intermittent rain.
With some careful rock hopping we soon had ourselves at GZ. Our caching buddies spotted the hide and we added our names in the fresh logbook as joint {FTF} yay!
Thanks juc_cacher for the interesting cache notes and the excitement of ftf in a stunning location.
