We have been coming to Marahau for four years for holidays and weve never quite got to this cache. However coming in winter provides more opportunities for quieter walks and less muggles! We walked along the roadside with only one car passing in the same direction, and now the cachettes (AGEE & NZ5) will do mudflat walking home again. TFTC
Staying in the area and stopped here after a walk along the waterfront. Such a beautiful and calm area. TFTC
Spent a few hours at Marahau today. Great day for it! Picked up a few caches too. Heading away from the area when I stopped to look for this one. It was a quick find. #7502. TFTC.

During our roadtrip in New Zealand, we also found this cache. Thanks for hiding!
The rain has stopped and it was a lovely evening for a walk. Nice easy find. TFTC
A revisit after logging this cache two years ago. Despite covid restrictions possibly getting in the way, I’m surprised how few entries there are since Jan 2021

A quick dash out of the car and then trying not to slip in. This must be such a beautiful location on a nice day! TFTC!!
#11,294. I stayed the night in Takaka with some friends. My plans today are to cache around this area until early afternoon then head over the hill to Marahau and then south to Murchison where I am staying the night. I am now heading into the PWGT cache at Marahau. Parked close by to this one and dropped down to sea level to look for the container. Found it soon after. It can be reached from the road level. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Missed the fact it had a code for a puzzle final. Thanks math not lost for hiding it here.
My wife and I last visited here more than 20 years ago. We swung by today to reminisce anh enjoyed an ice cream. Pulled in here for a quick find on our way back to Motueka
I was really worried that I might get wet since the tide was in. I looked a bit and spotted something that was reachable without getting wet. TFTC.
Out doing a kayaking trip from Marahau today, enjoying the scenery and great weather.
Grabbed a handful of caches along the way.

Was here to get the PWGT cache and this was to close not to get while we were here. Found with 1andonlyholly. TFTC
Luckily the parking spot was free.
It took me a while to find. I was being watched by a kingfisher.
We're on our first summer campervan trip. JDScout and I plan to do three this summer. This trip is from Christchurch to Motueka to Blenheim and back.
Thanks for hiding this cache math not lost I appreciate it. It has helped add an extra layer of fun in our holiday.

Quick find and replaced as found
It was one if a few that I could park and grab after completing the Abel Tasman coastal track... we did 69km over 4days so feeling a bit tired now.

11th cache of 44 today. thanks math not lost for the cache. Off on a day trip around Tasman picking up some missing D T spots, the PWGeoTour 3 up at Marahau and as many others as I can find.
A nice quick find thanks.
Another long weekend, another wee road trip, this time up to Golden Bay area, with Ms_KR. The daylight hours are are certainly getting shorter, but luckily the weather is mostly dry and warm. Today we cruised Over to Golden Bay and back to Motueka.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

It is a long weekend (Anzac Weekend) and NZDi wanted a few days away. We spent a few days in Motueka over Easter and intended to tack a couple of days at Kaiteriteri to that trip, but end up staying at Mot, so this trip is to make up for that. Our intention was to come across on Friday, spend two nights at the camping ground, then head home. But we enjoyed the first two days so much, we tacked another day onto it and will go home on Monday.
Today is day three of our holiday and being Anzac Day, first up is to attend an Anzac service before any geocaching is contemplated. This year I chose the Riwaka service. If I am away from home on Anzac Day I always attend a local service in the area where I am. That way I have been to dozens of different services around the country.
After the service, we packed a picnic lunch and headed towards Marahau, caching along the way. This was our fourteenth find of the day and I made the approach from below which I think was the easier option for me. From the log I see that we aren't the only cachers aprt from Madcow2 in the area today with Karma Reprint and Mrs KR also enjoying the local caching scene.
This was our second in this series today, so we recorded the numbers and letters and headed straight to the third.

#1485. Day 4 of a 9 day caching holiday in the Tasman region with GB Leader. First stop, Nelson, for 2 days after arriving in Picton. Then on to Kaiteriteri. After doing a lunchtime Coffee cruise to Split Apple Rock, we thought we’d explore the countryside en route to Marahau. Picked up some caches along the way, and then finally, reached the start (or end) of the Abel Tasman Track. Time to pick up a couple on the way back to Kaiteri, this was the first. Once I spotted the hint item, all was well.

A quick find with Tregearp whilst on our way out to the Able Tasman for an afternoon walk. All in good order. Thanks math not lost for the cache.
Quick find today with SJT_NZ but we need to go back because we have now found all three but I forgot to record the numbers so not able to complete the associated puzzle. Will revisit next time I'm in the area. Thanks math not lost for the cache all in good order.
Found with no.13. Knelt for this one so hope passersby thought I was praying on good friday. Tftc
Our motor home blocked off the fact I was on my hands and knees. Soon had cache in hand, signed and replaced. Thanks for the placement math not lost.
Nice fast drive by cache...hood to view the estuary from a different aspect thanks
Had biked out from Marahau to find the caches a wee bit further on. A car parked here in my way out so stopped in the way back. Good timing for a rest as a brisk head wind had come up while I was away
Having dropped HorseGirlNZ at friend's a way back down the road I set off for a dog walk, or two, or three with some end-of-year caching to boot!
After a quick convenience stop up the road (what's that? Too much information?) I returned to the GZ for a look for the second in the CO's three-piece puzzle.
Approaching from the wrong side had me thinking I'd need to be fossicking around a dead pukeko but common sense prevailed and I took a look the other side and immediately saw a far more likely hiding place.
Thanks math not lost...happy new year

My fifth and final find of the day as I headed towards Marahau on a stunning evening. This was an instant find in the first place I looked. I retrieved this from the roadside, luckily all went according to plan A and I didn't embarrass myself by slipping and getting it wrong.
I retrieved the trackable that was in it as it was starting to go a wee bit rusty, so I will move that along as soon as I can. Then I realised I had left the pen in the car, so took it to the car to sign.
I signed the log and returned it as I had found it.
Thank you for placing the cache, it was a nice quick find to help the numbers keep ticking over, and of course thank you for the smiley

There's hardly any traffic so pulling over on the wrong side didn't cause any probs. With two likely hiding places we choose one each. I won. The hide reminded me a bit of GC3RTV1 "Dublin Creek Bridge Remnant". We're all set now for the final on the way back later. Thank you math not lost
We had decided it was time we looked at the caches on the Kaiteriteri/Marahau loop since it was some time since we had been this way.
As we stopped here there was some hail beginning so we waited to see how that developed since it was earlier this year the car had extensive repairs after being caught in the tremendous hail storm that hit Timaru late last year. Luckily it was soon over and no harm done.
With some rain still threatening Hazedarus went in one direction and I went in the other to find this, he found it.

Pulled over to clean my sunnies and thought I’d be rude not to collect this one since I was so close. TFTC.

Today RG1972 and I went to Marahau. A first for me, I have never been here. Which is a bit odd, as I have previously found caches just a few kms down the road.
It was a great day. We loaded the bikes and parked out of town, then rode on in for a bit of casual cache collecting and to enjoy the views.
On the way out we did a loop walk that was slippery but fun, and bumped into a few friends along the way.
A fun day. Thanks all COs.

I love the stretch of road along here and even on a grey and drizzly day it is extra special with the tide in. Isn't it great when you find a spot that is specially made for a cache! Thanks for bringing us to Marahau today and thanks for the hide .
Caching with Sidewaze. Nice to find a few before the weather closed in. Clever hide! TFTC
On a drive out to marahau today for a customer, finally made time to quickly grab this one. Nice easy find
On our hike along the coastal walkway this was our seventh catch for today! Thanks for the Cache!:)
Nice quick park, grab and write down the numbers then off toward the next one in the series. TFTC #15,399
We had a new cache we wanted to place and we knew just where we wanted to put it so we headed over in this direction for a days caching to pick up new or re-enabled or just plain unfound caches before stopping at our hiding spot.

Out for a caching trip with bumandworker today. A nice hide here.
The tide was well out this afternoon. No water in this bay.
All the numbers gathered so bum worked out the final while I made a dodgy U-Turn.

Today I was visiting Abel Tasman National Park and Golden Bay. I was driving through amazing landscape. I saw beautiful things like the split apple rock, Takaka Hill and Parapara. In Marahau I was walking along the beach looking for some caches. Thank you for hiding!
