Arrived in Manawhai this afternoon having travelled from Otorohanga today. Went on a little tiki tour late afternoon and picked up a couple of caches including this one. It was a reasonably quick find although the log sheet was without any container. #8028. TFTC.
Replaced the cache container, so now a log and container. Orange top medical vial as it was. Enjoy!
Found it today after going to the chocolate shop. No container, only paper, doesn't seem very durable? TFTC!
Was here early as this chocky place is very popular. Checked a few spots before spotting the right spot. [TFTC]
A fun day out caching in the North of Auckland and South of Northland today, despite the weather. I managed to find this sneaky little cache quite quickly, and perhaps more importantly, I managed to resist the urge to go inside. TFTC!
New vial put back in place. Has an orange lid. Enjoy and please place back as found.
Nice Easter find. But not sure how much longer will survive as no container. TFTC
I was down in Auckland this weekend for a catch up with the kids and Grandkids. I didn't have time for any events unfortunately but we had a great family weekend. After dropping one son off at the Hibiscus Coast bus stop to go back to Uni I just wanted to grab a few caches. With the Brenderwyns closed this cache was now on my way home. It was a 5pm on Sunday so I thought I'd have a better chance of a muggle free zone. I do love chocolate but cheap Cadbury's or Whittakers does me nicely. I parked nearby and had to wait a few minutes for the last workers to leave. A quick find then. Good to get the March Solstice souvenir all sorted. Thanks for the cache
A chocolate factory - of course we had to stop, and having a cache here was an added bonus. Being vertically challenged 4Clubs and I were worried we might not have been able to retrieve this cache, but we managed just fine. Added a pic of the yummy chocolates we treated ourselves to. TFTC
Unfortunately too late for a coffee. Nice and easy find. Thanks for placing the cache
Tftc. Perfect spot to keep kids busy while we enjoyed a coffee and chocolate.
Been buying this choc as gifts for years and never knew it came from here. We were up here for a weekend trip and thought we would get a few caches. Well worth the stop in the hot choc was lovely and the carrot cake was enjoyed by us all.TFTC#146
Staying at Mangawhai for the long weekend, we wanted to visit both the cafe and chocolate shop. We arrived approx 11.30 and the cafe was busy, but got even busier as it got closer to lunchtime. After a yummy light lunch, we made our way into the chocolate shop - there were some cute white Halloween ghosts as well as chocolate pumpkins, as its nearly that time of year. After getting our chocolate fix, we headed towards gz where this tiny cache was spotted on approach. No problem for MrJAG to reach this cache. TFTC and smilie
Wanted to take the kids for a caching adventure but we just couldnt get to the ones we had targeted, so decided to come into town for the ones here and go grab a drink and snack from the SuperValue. Micro McArgister spotted this on approach so asked to go on my shoulders to retrieve. Mini McArgister signed us in and replaced with a lift from me. Thanks for the bite sized cache!
What a great spot for a visit. Yummy meal, quick find cache. All safe and dry. Thanks for the placement.
Great to be back in Mangawhai! We had to stop and get some vital supplies here tftc FP from this chocoholic
Thank you! I was too short to see it but my boyfriend found it fairly quickly
Great hiding spot first time for us so didn’t really no what we were doing but when one of us found it we were all so surprised to what great hiding spot it was so thanks
Decided to come down and grab a few caches. Grabbed this one on the way back, not without grabbing some choccies from Bennetts first! Quick find. TFTC
Evening walk and no mugglers around ️. Quick find. Maybe we have to come back during daytime.
Final day (3) of our three day Geocaching trip to Whangarei. This stage included a large loop to the West of Whangarei picking up solved puzzles and then heading south getting some of the most northern caches in Auckland and then heading back to the airport for a flight back to Wellington. It rained on and off through the morning and some caches were done in pouring rain whilst others were in gaps in between. We signed the log as BIC for BFG, Infoferret and CrystalFairy.
Ohhh..Chocolates are dangerous.. I think we all spent some money here buying chocolates.. Apparently the Feijoa Chocolates pack a powerful punch (according to the Fairy half)..

15:01 Final day of a 3 day expedition to the areas north of Auckland with Crystal Fairy and Barefootguru, most logs signed as BIC to save space and time. The focus of the trip was to find a number of puzzle caches solved over the last couple of years, plus other caches of interest we passed. The rain has arrived with a vengeance, so being somewhat selective in the ones we stop for & how long we search...that was a dangerous location, but managed to extract myself before my wallet suffered too much damage...
TFTC HeathcoteXHunters for placing this cache, number 11989 for me.

We did a bit of shopping here in this town, and I think RG was quite sated by the retail therapy. Then I told her I had a secret spot - I had noticed the chocolate shop here due to this cache. So we rocked up, we both made purchases, and we found a cache while at it. Result. TFTC HeathcoteXHunters.
Day 2 of a 14 day road trip around Northland for RG1972 and I.
Today, Red Beach to Whangārei.
A nice drive through a number of towns today, although the weather was a bit iffy.
We spent time in Waiwera, Puhoi, Matakana, Mangawhai and Waipu as well as a couple of other stops. Plenty of shopping for RG72, and where I could I slipped away for a nearby cache or two.
We had a good day without overdoing it. Thanks all COs.

Sorry but finding this cache was completely secondary to acquiring chocolate. In fact we had been caching along our route to Bennett's all day and as we were leaving with a bag of goodies I had an after thought of checking to see if there was a cache nearby.... well well well, time to re park the car to collect a cache before we leave. Unfortunately the previous cache, '161 steps ' will never offset the extra calories we went home with, but life is like a box of chocolates... you have to grab one while you can or you might regret it. Tftc
Awesome hide..good thing Beeba was with me as I am a little short to reach it! Thank you for leading us to this little shop. Tftc
I was torn between find this cx and finding the chox inside. Why not do both? It took me longer to find the cx, but then I just bought more inside. TFTC.
Glad my wife and daughters weren't with me when I found this cache, as we would of definitely had to go inside. Took a minute or 2 to locate the well hidden cache, nicely done.
Hubby didn’t want to stop for this one in case I went into the store. I promised not to so we got the cache. TOTT needed for extraction from hiding spot and also for the log in the container. Found now so won’t need to come back. Except for choccie. TFTC.
In the area today and after choosing my timing I made a nice quick find. I had my work colleagues helping which was awesome. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next geo-hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this geocache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC
DNF the first time I was here two years ago, so glad I found it the second time round! Beautiful location on a stunning day
Took the kids geocaching, no way were they going to find this one! Way above even my head, lucky we had dad to help haha
1st cache for 2022.
Was in Mangawhai for a few days. Lovely area, love the town. Took my bike with me and took a ride one night to explore and find some caches.
Quick easy find.

Sorry it has been muggled and I can’t replace being in Level 3. Will replace when Auckland and Northland change levels.
Looked all over the big sign where the map sent us. Climbed up. Couldn’t find it. Maybe been muggled??
After a successful FTF on an interesting new cache in Kaiwaka, I couldn't just head back to Whangarei, without at least looking for a few more on the way.
A few muggles starting to arrive here in the early-ish morning, but managed to retrieve the cache unseen and after taking it back to the cache mobile to sign the log, was able to also put it back without being noticed.
Was careful not to venture inside, as that might have been dangerous for a chocaholic. TFTC

Wow...didn't know about all these fancy shops here at Mangas!
Haven't been out this way for years.
Easy find...but needed trusty safety pin to extract log paper from container!
Luckily I was tall enough .
