TFTC. Seems I timed this one perfectly as the previous cachers left a path in the otherwise jungle of a trek to the cache.

Wheres a machete when you need one? The access to this cache gave a jungle exploration vibe as we traipsed through very tall grass, fought off lantana branches, stumbled over debris and finally made it to the largest cache container we have ever seen. Probably a wise choice as we dont like the chances of finding anything smaller in this exuberant undergrowth. Tftc.

We were here a few days ago and had no time to try for it. We did get some help to get this dune and dusted. The cache is there to be found.

I couldn't fins any access that didn't need a machete so gave it a miss.

Found quickly

Together with my favorite geocacher Milonguera we traveled to Australia We went to Melbourne via Singapore and from there we explored the south, the center and the east coast.
We walked around Melbourne and had a nice meet & greet event. Than we visited Philip Island with the pinguins and the Great Ocean Road. We fed and petted kangaroos visited the koalas and continued north via Coober Pedy to Alice Springs. We hiked around the impressive Uluru and through the beautiful Kata Tjuta and breathtaking Kings Canyon. The gorges of the Macdonell-Ranges are nice too. We traveled north and than east to Townsville and Magnetic Island. From Airlie Beach we rafted to the Whitsunday Islands for snorkeling and swimming at Whitehaven Beach and took a seaplane to the Great Barrier Reef.
On the way south we visited the capricorn coast, Great Keppel Island, 1770, Bundaberg and Rainbow Beach.

**Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for showing the location and for hiding the cache. You should come to Berlin in Germany to find a lot of interesting geocaches, visit lost places in the surrounding Brandenburg and meet nice people at many events.
I wish you a lot of fun and great adventures while searching for the next geocache!**

Ich bedanke mich bei youngoldfella für den Cache, das Zeigen dieses Ortes, das Legen und Pflegen der Dose und den Spaß beim Finden! Thanks for the cache!

Good to come across a large container here

Thank you for hiding

29-Nov-22
Hi there youngoldfella, we found your cache Old Crossing today.

We started the day off by nominating a cache cluster in an area we would like to visit, and then took a route that was determined (mostly) by the next closest cache as determined by our GPS.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area and ended up finding a variety of container types, sizes and ratings.

Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache where our GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: Good.

Regards
Ian & Penny

A great sized cache. Mrs SKI was relieved it wasn't as far up the hill as she had first thought!

We have moved on from Caboolture and wound our way north to Woodgate. Not much caching to be done but some relaxing time walking and riding along the beach and catching up with family.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache youngoldfella.

Fabulous day for some caching! We were a bit worried about the fence then saw that GZ was nowhere near it. Battled the lantana and forged a way to GZ where we found the cache in good condition with lots of swag. Mozzies attacked as I signed the log then we took a more direct route back down.

Day 17 of the road trip to Townsville with LuckyL10n for the mega and today was day 4 of the drive back to Canberra.

After a second night in Bundy it was time to head off for Caboolture, with a few stops along the way of course. Heading along the back road to Childers we stopped for a few interesting caches to help with a few different cache types. No issue with any of the first few and the caches were all in good condition.

Many thanks for yet another cache on the trip YOF....

TFTC. We had been in town for an appointment. On the return we decided to detour down Goodwood Road to find a few caches. This was the second of three before we had to get back to continue work on the Motorhome. Things should be dry by now.

I came home yesterday and was given a suitable container so today I am back to replace it at another spot. This time the container is a 15 Litre plastic bucket with lid that fits really snugly so you may struggle removing it. Please replace the lid securely.

Large container has been taken. Replaced with a temporary regular sized container till I can get my hands on another 15 litre container. There is currently no letter box stamp in this one. I hope to have the large container back in place within the next 7 days. Co ordinates still good. Will relocate this one when I replace the large sized container. Look at the end of the concrete abutment and behind.

A few weeks back I was asked if I would like to go on a weekend caching trip chasing some target caches. With a leave passed granted, if I got all my work done at home, and seeing i would be on holidays anyways, a green light soon appeared.
Our first day of caching in a group and with target caches set, we were off. We had some multi’s, oldies, letterboxes, trads, puzzles and a lab series on the list to collect today, yes a busy day. The list did get added to as we passed a few others along the way.
This was one from the list, there’s a love for letterboxes and there seems to be a lack of them getting around so when it was spied it was a must do. All good with this cache and with the log signed and cache replaced as found it was off to our next target cache. Thank you for placing this one here.

The last letterbox for this area today for me, while Fangsoki watched on from the car.
I got out of the car and looked over. And up. And wondered just what would be the best way to attack this, hoping there would be a bit of a better way than straight through all that long grass, and my uncertainty of the ground it hides.
Fangsoki called out something about heading up to it from the right, so I headed over and found a nice track. Ahhh well that’s better. Then I headed across...
And came out a little higher than I needed to be. A bit of a leg stretch down and I was at the cache. Then it was time to head back to the car. Well this time I headed down the opposite way and managed to navigate my way through a bit of a geotrail and avoid most of that long grass.
Now it’s off to Kilkivan for us.
Thanks for the cache youngoldfella.

Heading back toward Bundaberg - I headed for this one next.

I pulled up and the smartphone indicated I was 3m from it. Hmmm.

I read the listing and the clue.. and noted the terrain rating. I knew where it was going to be. After a bit of a trot, I soon found the handsome cache container. I signed the log and recorded my own version of the coordinates (mine were recorded on a smartphone!)

I love a cache at old infrastructure - so I enjoyed this one. TFTC youngoldfella Smile

Despite the poor weather forecast, Crookedpete, JezNDez and I set off on an impromptu road trip from Brisbane to Bundaberg chasing a large patch of potential FTFs which appeared to still be on offer. After encountering rain on the drive up, we lucked in with the rest of the day remaining precipitation free. In the end, a great day to be out caching.

As this was the first cache of the trip, we were a little tense as we searched for the cache, eager for the status of the logbook to tell us if the four hour drive had been worth the effort. We quickly found the rather large container (although not quite big enough to house the enormous TB Dez had brought along), and an inspection of the logbook revealed we had made the **FTF**, much to our delight. {*FTF*} @ 09.39 on 8.2.20 with SeffnJarah and DeznJez.

Some heavy rain forecasts scuttled the planned Bromance camping weekend in North NSW. The forecast around Bundy looked reasonable, and there were 70 FTF's with some generous DT up for grabs. Swellerfungus opted to continue the repairs arsing from his 10 cent bathroom washer replacement (current cost is into the $1,000's), leaving the Bromance Lite* heading north early this morning.

This was the first for the day. After driving through the rain we arrived here in sunshine. The long grass looked pretty snakey, but none were sighted. A nice quick find revealed a clean logbook. We were treated to a train passing whilst at GZ. The team conducted an impromptu CITO at GZ removing a few recyclable containers to cash in later.

Logs were signed with the team's Bromance stamp. Many thanks youngoldfella
