Doing a few caches around Highbrook with Team Welsh this morning.
Thankfully we had a quick find here without disturbing some nearby muggles. Thanks.

There was a car parked near GZ but they were asleep so we could look without worry. Cache located in the first spot we looked and it was nice to get another one signed off. TFTC

Almost back to the car at the end of the loop. Picked the wrong (singular) hint item before looking there. Nice camo here, simple and effective.

The recipe - mrs c at work? Check. Me, with a day off to go caching? Check. A decent weather forecast? Check. And so it came to pass that I headed out to Highbrook for a few hours caching having visited the area earlier in the year forsome vaccination stuff, and not enough time to do the area justice. Plenty of finds this morning, but a nasty accident on Highbrook Drive early this morning meant coming in from Pakuranga way, and back the same way. All good though. Even encountered another family out caching, kylerrrr, and saw them a couple of times on the trails, nice. Thanks to all COs.

I spent a bit of time exploring this end of Highbrook before checking in at the Quest. A nice quick find here late this afternoon. He he that was clever. TFTC

Out for an afternoon of caching with UncleSamNZ to pick up a few caches in the Highbrook area and get out for a nice walk on a beautifully sunny day. After meeting UncleSamNZ and hatching a plan of attack, started to execute it.

Heading back to the cars, we passed this cache and just had to go find it. A good look around and we couldn't find it at first. Then a more rigorous search soon revealed the hiding place of the cache. The log was signed and the cache returned safely to where it came from.

Roadtrip time, day 4.
Seeing as this is Easter weekend, I have taken 4 days leave next week to get in a driving tour, hoping to get as far north as 90 mile beach in order to seek the recently published PWGT caches throughout Northland, as well as catch up with 4 different sets of friends.

I was visiting a friend in Pakuranga, and that was my main focus for today. But with today also being a dot day that I wished to deal to, I was able to pop out briefly and look for a few caches that have been placed in this area since I was last up here.

This was a straightforward find at GZ, thanks to accurate co-ords and the Hint. There were a few people around this evening, but no real problem in waiting for the right moment to retrieve the cache. There were no issues with the cache or the log etc so once signed everything was replaced back exactly as found.

Thanks for placing this cache.

Was at a bit lost and bored....so decided to go caching. Put the bike on the back of the car after pumping up the tires, and out I went.

Unpacked the bike. Did take me a little while to find this one...longer than it should have. Great cache container

30-Sep-20
Sneaky cache i love it

28-Sep-20
Great container. Not exactly what I was expecting given the GZ, but that's what makes a good hide, right?

After a lost water bottle and magnifying glass incident, me and the assistant finally made it to GZ.

After prodding about the blocks for 5 minutes we were about to give up when the assistant pulled on something and the treasure appeared.

Another well designed cache. Log signed as Bruno + Dad

I'm working not too far from here today so I came out early to find a few caches before starting my meetings. Classic camo job. Cache found as per the hint. TFTC, Biggles.

Decided a bit of a bike ride was in order and the caches in and around Highbrooke had all been replaced so we took this challenge on today.

Packed the bikes into the back of the car and headed out here.

Mrs NZT made a quick find of this one after Mr NZT headed for a more obvious item of interest which turned out to be 10 meters to far away... DOH!

Made plans with TheWonderStuff to head out to the Eastern Beaches to target a number of caches that we both hadn't found. On our way back to where TWS had left his car, we detoured to these newish caches in Highbrook.

As we pulled up in the dead-end road some muggles were loading their dog in the car and gave us a weird look. They soon left and we continued our search, soon having the cache in hand.

Had to travel down to the "big smoke" today to buy a new welder from Machinery Warehouse for my home workshop and had never been to this part of Auckland before. Being Saturday morning there didn't seem to be the usual multitudes out walking, riding, or possibly geocaching.

Once we had spent a fair amount at the shop we decided to check out the area as the walkway looked interesting. A quick check on the phone showed there were quite a few caches in the area so it was a pity we didn't have more time today. However the lack of muggles meant we just had to go for a wander and get a few of the nearby caches.

Time to head home, with a planned stop at the Albany mall, but as we drove away from the wharf the phone showed a cache hidden close to the round-about so we just had to stop for a quick look. As the phone was still giving lousy GPS location (I need to make sure I bring the real GPS) we had to rely on the hint and our cache sense. Luckily there wasn't too many hiding places so after looking where we thought (re-bar...) we reread the cache details and hint before moving to somewhere to sit. Liz again made the find so another smiley for us.

Thanks for the cache, we will need to come back for some of the others when we next have some spare time in Auckland.

Nice quick find here. Interesting camo! Thanks for hiding. Tftc

Had a parcel to pick up this morning but didn’t realise the collection centre wouldn’t be open.Knew some more caches had been placed around here so thought we would see what we could find.Parked up near this one and wondered over.Knew what was meant by the hint item which allowed us to make a quick find of this well cameoed cache.Unfortunately there was a dead bird on top so we have moved the hide slightly.

16-May-20
Took a bit of hunting to find this one but got there in the end. Nice camo.TFTC Big Grin

24-Mar-20
Ariba Ariba! Well maybe I wasn't really Speedy Gonzales here. Another midnight outing for our daily cache. Unsurprisingly all quiet around GZ. Circled the structures a couple of times before spotting where the hide was likely located. Just as I was about to look more closely the heavens opened and I dashed back to the car. Only needed to wait 2-3 minutes and the shower had passed by. Hide quickly located after that. All good.

Certainly starting to feel a little bit paranoid sneaking around in the dark at the moment and we are only at level 2. Not sure how I will feel once we hit Stage 4. TFTC Smile

Mrs Sp8 went straight past the spot, but I know rebar is.

First of an after-work trifecta. Hot afternoon, no time for sitting around here. Also did the lap around before deciding what to do. Nice work here, thanks for putting this out, and all the others around Highbrook and beyond. Much appreciated. TFTC

04-Feb-20
No time for pondering...straight to the find thanks!
Plus I find tall pylony things a bit spooky and menacing....
especially in the dark.
But was daylight today...
Great to be able to have several hours of daylight for afterwork caching!
Plus so good to have new trads to find in Auckland....

04-Feb-20
Found! Had to revisit this one as I mistook what I saw as what it is. TFTC

04-Feb-20
Ftf at 10.40pm log to come

03-Feb-20
Had just sat down for dinner and a movie on tv after getting the tamariki to bed when this came out. Left it for the East Auckland crew and watched the film (Game Night on Netflix, ridiculous but funny). Just as I was about to do the dishes I remembered so thought it was worth popping out to check. Some weird cars parked up near GZ but not close enough to bother me so the search commenced. Took a full circumnavigation before reaching in and grabbing it. Surprisingly the log was still blank so FTF for me! Thanks for the post credit cache!
