Once again I am spending the weekend in Wanganui, and once again I have a Saturday afternoon free. Today I was prepared. I needed one more day of 50+ find to complete one part of the DGSc Challenge, and so today I was to focus on clearing out the Feilding area. An I did (mostly) thanks to a large number of recently published high quality hides, and a beautiful summers day. I had a lot of fun, spending ten hours floating around the region and gathering up Geocaches. Here's one I found. So many times I have driven past here and not known how to actually access the cache location. Today I was determined to figure it out, so armed with plenty of time I drove around and sure enough on my second or third lap I finally spotted the access point. Phew! After that, it was just a wee walk and the cache was found safe and well.---Thanks to by watcache for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.
Day #2 of the Team SEAC extra long weekend little road trip for Labour Weekend.Yussss! Spied the track nice and easy so started on the hidden pathway. Some sheep along the way were keen to join in the find and followed us for a bit (and then followed us back out, probably to ensure we left ha ha!!). Nice quick find. Thanks for the cache.
We managed to unlock the hidden path for this one today, and just before GZ, we were drawing the attention of 3 quite sizable sheep...one had an impressive set of horns on him to boot....luckily they were friendly.....Day 2 of our caching trip to Palmerston North area with HeMaLuDy, UncleSamNZ, Keylev, and myself, signing in as SEAC or TEAM SEAC to save logbook space. A big thanks to all the CO's for cache placement and maintenance, making this trip the success that it was.TFTC.
A small group of us from Team SEAC consisting of Keylev, Stik-A-Crane, Uncle Sam and ourselves had come down from Auckland to spend the long weekend caching in the Manawatu area. The plan was to get as many as possible. Along the way we had some great adventures, many laughs, met some interesting people and found a wide selection of caches. Signed SEAC to save space on the log. TFTC.On the way to our previous cache we had spied the entry to this hidden pathway. We wandered along the path which was muddier than expected in places, and past the farmers rubbish fire. Along the way we encountered 3 sheep who must have been previous pets as they just wanted to follow us. Through to the cache location and a nice quick find, thankfully not piquing the interest of the cattle in the paddock. Then back past the sheep and the fire and the mud, back to the car.
Small group of caching buddies drove down from Auckland for the long weekend, and headed for Palmerston North area. Sorry for the generic posts, but we had so many caches to find.Had a great time, with so many laughs. Thanks to all the Cache owners who placed the caches. All logs signed "SEAC" or "Team Seac"
After wondering where to start, I remembered I still had the TA trail app on my phone from following a friend who walked it last year. That sussed I made the walk through the long wet grass to make the find. Not much of a trail, but plenty of markers to follow, and some friendly sheep to keep me company. TFTC
Searched the wrong hint object at first but eventually found it. What a fun bit of trail! Tftc.

Almost a DNF (the pathway that is)
had to drive around the block till I spotted the entrance to the hidden path, then a traipse through the wet grass in Jandals and soon had the cache in hand, nice wee path, almost feels like your walking through the back yard of the houses!

Maintenance run today and have checked this guy and he has been a little in the weather so have replaced container and log so all good to go again.
Enjoyed a nice little walk along this hidden walkway that we definitely didn't know about. The bridge was very scectchy. The log was very wet and it was soaking for so long that it turned green! Needs an upgraded container.
I wrote in the log and concealed it carefully back as found,
TFTCSL Thanks watcache for this Traditional cache!

This cacher reported this cache needs maintenance.
Logs is green from mold and water and probably needs a better container

An interesting walk in to the cache. We probably would have felt like we shouldn't have been there if it hadn't been for the triangles and signs.
Two very friendly lambs followed us along one section.
Found the cache fairly easily, but couldn't sign the log because it was too wet. I took a photo of the cache instead.
Thanks.

When to the house warming for Etherlord clan and just as I arrived to the house I was pulled along on a maintenances trip for the singnoid so of course we stopped for a few catches a long the way
It's my 40th birthday!
*Actually it's not, that was 4 months ago. Let's try that again shall we?*
It's my 40th birthday party!
*That's better *
After my originally planned party was covid-cancelled a number of times, EtherLady and I decided to make it a joint event with the housewarming party for the Clan's new Castle, and today's the day.
Apparently we have a lot of friends! because the number of people (and therefore the ambient volume) got a bit high for some of the attendees who looked for a period of quieter chaos.
Somehow I got dragged along for this 'quick' junket that turned into quite a bit longer than "quick" [B)]
...in fact we were away so long that I received a call from EtherLady saying "Where are you?!?"
Uh-oh
This was my second find of the foray.
I thought it was a lot closer to the previous cache (ManRail: Mugby Junction) and so elected to walk.
Turns out it it was twice the minimum distance, and involved entering the railway corridor - something that I normally avoid
As we neared GZ, [@TwigNZ](http://coord.info/PRPHK6E)'s vehicle of vagabonds zoomed past us on the main road and screeched to a halt at the "best" (subjective!) parking spot he could locate.
By the time we had perambulated to the passage of posts and pickets, Twig and the Seagnoid had already located the host and the container, and were signing the log.
They were insistent that the ground was sufficiently boggy that [@the Seagnoid](http://coord.info/PR5DMHT) was the only one who would enjoy the squelching and to stay on the "drier" (also subjective!) side of the fence.
Thanks for the hide, and the fun

HGidden pathway?? Where?? After a manitenance check on a nearby cache some of the team walked and me and TwigNZ rode to GZ. We climbed up the bank, crossed the railroad, over the fence and braved the boggy bit to GZ. When we got there we could see the rest of the crew walking along the rail line to approach GZ the same way we did - it looks like this cache is in desperate need of a trail head way point, as the entire crew found that the only way to GZ was by illegal means. And even at GZ we are obviously walking through private land, but then I saw the DoC triangles.
Having driven up this morning from the Hutt Valley to Palmerston North to attend Etherlords birthday celebrations, joint with the Clans housewarming, a few of us (Myself, Etherlord, TwigNZ, the Seagnoid, Mart0r & Stardust718) decided to pop out for a bit of caching late afternoon. Bunnythorpe was the target, as the Seagnoid needed to attend to some cache maintenance out that way.
I think a few of us went the wrong way... But what was the RIGHT way? It was hard to know, but hey, we all got there in the end.
TwigNZ and the Seagnoid approached GZ first, and when the other 3 of us arrived there was a holla of "we've got it, no need to come through the bog", so I at least got to keep my shoes dry.
It always makes me feel awkward when caches are located on private property, but I guess with the Te Araroa Trail coming through here the locals will be used to people passing through.

Despite reading the cache page thoroughly and using Edvern's helpful start point I still made an initial mess withe my approach to this one. Eventually I got it right and crossed the stile and down the paddocks. A nice late afternoon stroll in the Autumn sun and soon at GZ. After checking the hint I reached down and grabbed the cache and added my name to the damp, but signable, log. Another wee slice of Te Araroa completed. Tack them all together and I'll be still well short of this awesome trail. T F T C watcache
After a whistle-stop trip to Hawkes Bay on Saturday for a couple of Geotour placements, followed by a day in the garden with chores to be completed and some lawn enhancements begun, which may yet turn out to be bigger than the chariot driving Benjamin Hurr. I was determined to attend an Anzac Day service too, and picked Colyton as being a viable destination, and my attendance in the improving weather was both moving and solemn.
Followed this observance with a trip to a call the troops event in Palmy and after that I picked off a few random caches, as well as completing stages on three previously started Ad Labs, and beginning and ending a fourth one. So just the one left in Palmy, for now. Thanks to all COs fore their hides today, the weather was awesome and a good day to be out and about.

This was a walk down memory lane for me. I lived in Bunnythorpe as a child and often spent my weekends exploring around this area.
It has changed a bit since then but with soggy feet and fence jumping I got to find the cache and remember my childhood.
TFTC - super thanks

This certainly is a secret pathway. Even with our local knowledge it took a bit of thought as to where to find a safe start to this path without crossing the railway line. Access from a stile on Stoney Creek Road at S 40 17.108 E 175 38.012. A pleasant little walk, well signposted. Good to see a safe off road walk for TA walkers. All good, thanks watcache
Found this today after a walk in some very long grass at some point it wasup ro my shoulders lol im guessing this use to be or still is some kind of walk way. The cattle didn't look to impressed to have my company either . Glad i found it though. Tftc
Took a while just to find the hidden pathway but was determined to find it. Finally found and of we went. A beautiful walk didn’t take to long to find the cache. Signed log and replaced as found. Tftc an smiley
This was fun with the animals being inquisitive but the lumps and bumps along with the long grass made think Te Araroa Trail might be tougher than I tought (especially with a 20kg pack on.). TFTC
Out on a weekend caching trip with Buttels with the aim of picking up the SHIELD and 20/20 series and mostly solved puzzles along the way. Now this is what I love about geocaching. Had no idea this existed.. The walk was uniquely interesting. Got to pet a few goats along the way. The couch along the path, the roosters, and so much more. A real kiwi experience it felt like. Definitely deserves a FP.
I love it. Thought I was going to get rained on. Thanks for showing me the hidden walkway.
After driving past several times I finally found what looked like the entrance. I parked up near the corner of Campbell road and stoney creek road and made the 7 minute walk towards GZ. After dodging overly friendly sheep a chicken and a wrecked car I finally made it to a likely hiding spot. It wasn't long before the cashe was spotted and the log signed. Thank you for bringing me to another interesting walkway in the local area.
A quick easy find after walking along from Clevely Line, although the hint object was deeper than we expected. TFTC
Slow cross country journey to Whanganui for work. Caching today in Ashhurst and on to Fielding. One of my daughters has been talking about doing the TA trail this summer so was interested to see where it passes through this area. Cache all fine. Thanks
Nice walk through the paddock to find this one having safely parked on Clevely Line, TA markers nearby. The TA is on our list of things to do, and we are gradually doing sections of the Trail. Cache all dry and replaced as found. TFTC
wow very hidden indeed, quick pullover and off I went - only took a few minutes to get to GZ all while avoiding the mud - cache all in good order thanks for the placement
Very nice find with woolwood9 after the International Geocaching Day Event in Palmerston North. Good walk to cache location, no problem with the find and area close to cache a bit soft but not really too bad at all.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We were really keen to log a Leap Day Event cache and collect the souvenir, but our nearest was the camp-out at Awhitu. We have already cached in that area and wanted to use our time a bit more effectively, so we reasoned that a trip south would be worthwhile. There were three events in the Manawatu region. Road trip...
Another Leap Day marked and confined to history - Now it’s time to head home to some normality, but not before we visit a few more caches along the way... This was a tricky little cache to approach given our lack of local knowledge. We found the easiest access - not necessarily the correct route. The hide was quite straight forward with a clear hint. Thanks watcache and TFTC.

Another interesting part of the walkway that I didn't know was here.A quick find and a good cache. No muggles about,so was able to sign the log at my leisure!Re-concealed carefully, thanks for this cache!
At 03:00 this morning when I was getting ready to start work I saw this cache had been published at midnight. No time to hunt it out before work so came hunting after finishing.
My GPS had me (badly) park nearby but that is a steep little climb to the railway line and I could find no path through the extensive gorse, so determined that is not the way to access this cache. Driving down to Cleverly Road the parking is much better by the railway line and there's the Te Araroa signage and a style. From there it was an easy walk along the pathway, being careful to not step in the animal spoor, or unduly disturb them.
Found at 13:45 and despite the signatures of five OPs who signed the log ten days before publication I claim this as a {FTF}.
I think it is amazing that this little pathway is part of Te Araroa. There's been recent work on the track and new Walkway poles placed. All very interesting and an opportunistic hide. TFTC

Found with geodatum after "Oh Two - Oh Two - Two Oh Two Oh" event in Feilding for joint [FTF]
Thanks watcache for this new cache.
Thanks watcache for this new cache.
This is in deed an interesting trail which is very rough and ready- or unready- but it is definitely safer than walking along the busy road between P. N and Bunnythorpe. I saw a black sheep that had got itself stuck in the stream and mud and even with me scaring it and it making a strong effort to get away and out it was still stuck. so i left a note on the owners door so i hope they saw it when they got home. This is logged as a {FTF} as in keeping with the permission from the C O after the event at Timoana park for the 02 02 2020 . I loved the wee bridge nearby and the manuka sticks that had been placed over the wet areas. Thanks for this new cache and this new part of the te araroa trail of new Zealand ..
The excuse of attending an event to earn a digital souvenir to celebrate the palindromic date seemed like an ideal opportunity to come up to Feilding to catch up with some friendly faces. The trip was made all the more beneficial as those attending were offered the opportunity to seek out a couple of new (as yet unpublished) caches, of which this was one.
searchSteve and I had teamed up to go looking for a few caches after the event, and then decided to grab this one on the way home. Initially it was unclear how best to make our way to GZ, but we had soon enough made it to (what we agreed at the time) what seemed like an unusual point of interest. The cache itself was an easy find in the first place I looked and I'm happy to claim a joint {FTF} with the other event attendees.
Thanks for the cache Watcache.

We were given the welcome opportunity by the CO of a joint FTF for attendees at the event today in Feilding, GC8HYV "Oh Two - Oh Two - Two Oh Two Oh", for two new caches.
We found this one with Popmac on our way home. It was quite a surprise to find we were on part of the Te Araroa Trail - we’d have remained completely unaware of this hidden pathway had it not been for the cache. So thanks for bringing us here watcache, and TFTC. The joint {FTF} opportunity is also very much appreciated.

Found with TwigNZ after the Timona Park 02022020 event - thanks for offering us joint {FTF}.
I am sure that over time this trail will be developed into a smoother scenic track instead of a cow paddock, and those walking the TA will appreciate the section being moved off the road.
