Finally get to do this amazing cycle trail. Camped up at Piro Piro campsite and got a shuttle. Fabulous day for it. Started chilly and now beautiful sunshine. Awesome country side. Many thanks for sharing a cache here.

A drizzly start to the day leaving camp but honestly not as bad as the weather predictions would have had me believe. Gee this cache is a great excuse to stop the bike and check out this whopper of a swingbridge.I was able to make short work on the find so had plenty if time to check out the bridge, take pics and read the info boards, classic touristy stuff, which I am grateful to the cache for as otherwise I would likely have just ridden onwards trying to get down the trail faster. After 979km on the Te Araroa I've learned that a few minutes to chill won't make a massive difference. I'll get there in the end.My thanks to the owner of this cache, watcache, for making my day more fun and memorable with this placement. Much obliged.-- This log is trackable ! ---- Feel free to discover ---- Please mention, in which cache you've seen this code: ---- 3TABQX --

Great spot for a bike ride. Good numbers of people out biking today, Not much water below the bridge. Lots of birds around. Well worth the ride. TFTC

Say two of the timber trail yesterday i walked 40kms to my first camp and to day going to be a 45 km day. Enjoying every step along the way .
This was a very enjoyable section and a engineering marble .
So glad the Te Araroa is part of the timber trail and the weather for the two day was perfect so amazing views .
Loved the bridges and history.
So much work to make the rail line and make the trail we have today.
Smashing out the km today and having a ball .
Just love these swing bridges beats walking down to the river and back up
Living life one foot step at a time as i walk from cape reinga to bluff and caching my way home as I walk the
