See you in 5 five years.
See you in 5 five years.
I discovered on an online event tonight that I hadn't logged my attendance at this event. Hahaha apparently I was there - sure I had a great time. Not sure how I missed logging it. Thanks again SDL
Woo hoo what an awesome event!!! Sadly I wasn’t able to stay long but I very much appreciated a piece of cache thanks for pulling us all together to celebrate all things ACT caching!!
Good see peoples and chats..No Lunch for me.... i stay for one hour then go home to rest.... thanks
Event was great fun, really nice to meet some new people and hear some fun stories, lot's of new caches have been added to the 'to find' list in my head ??
Massive thanks to Sol de lune for hosting this, I had a great time!

Headed into Canberra with fitzy_1965 for a day of events.
In-between events, we teamed up with albida33 for a couple of out of the way hides then headed over to this celebration a bit early. I was lucky to have picked a winning chair and was one of 5 rewarded with a bag of pathtags!
Great idea for this type of event. I collected Canberra Nature Park as one of my Jasmer caches not too long ago. Definitely glad the community is keeping it alive.

Today was event day with three to get to. It was great to have the chance to see people at each and for Throsbyonchurch for arranging two and Sol De Lune for the 5 year birthday ! It was interesting that there were different attendees at each.
The third event was this celebration of the ACT's caching birthday. I'm looking forward to the next one !
Thanks.

Number 11 on my hunt for 12 Caches! My penultimate type for the day, with only a Traditional to go! Fantastic to sit down to lunch and have a chat to the Canberra Geocaching community. As a new cacher to the area, having moved from Melbourne in January, I loved having the chance to meet everyone, and to talk about everyone's efforts to find as many types in a day. My last type for the day will be a Traditional, but just not any Traditional, the very cache this event is celebrating! Finding Canberra Nature Park so close to its 20th Birthday, as well as my 12th cache in a day felt like the correct amount of importance for Canberra's first! Thanks for the excellent event Sol de lune, I look forward to coming to more.
Type 11!
Today the geocaching stars aligned, and 12 types in a day was possible! This was in large part thanks to Throsbyonchurch and Sol de lune for hosting three types of events between them, at conveniently spaced times that allowed for travel and a couple of caches between, as well as the GeoCaching HQ Locationless release. I had a great day caching, met many of the amazing cachers of the Canberra region, and got my second diamond Project GC Badge! Thanks to all the CO's who owned the great caches I visited today!
Types:
1. Multi: Lake's Edge (GC5DR10)
2. Adventure: Lake George, where are you? Geographical Features.

Attended 1:05:29 PM -- Thank you very much for hosting this event **Sol de lune**.
We were on top of *Black Mountain* when your event started. After finding and signing the log for the old cache up here and completing requirements for other caches we headed down and over to your event. We arrived after lunch, but that wasn't a problem. We grabbed a drink and a snack before joining one of the two tables set aside for the event. Everyone must have been enjoying each others company as it wasn't until after 3:20pm that we had departed and a couple of others follwed behind too. It was enjoyable mixing with the Canberra crew today and getting to know more people.
It wasn't on my list of priorities to attempt finding as many different cache types in one day as I could. It wasn't until the NEAT locationless arrived that I began to consider it. Even though I attended a CITO specifically for the NEAT locationless, I decided to save mine for another time such as one of the Megas this year. The idea of of the cache types challenge faded in my mind for a while and I missed a few opportunities. Recently the idea came to mind again, and when I saw the *GC8K0BB ACT Caching Birthday Event - 20 Years* I realised I could attend the event, host a CITO, claim the NEAT locationless and find some other cache types to fulfill the 12 cache types challenge, plus it would give other cachers the opportunity to increase their numbers too.
We had a great week camping up to last weekend and cruising around Canberra collecting caches over the few days and seeing more of the nations capital that we have before. Today was no different. I really quite like this city.

As always an excellent event. Blueiris said thanks for the prize. Always great to spend time with friends and to make some new friends
Was great to come to an event again. Found the original quite quite while ago now. Some familiar faces, a lot of new ones for me.
It was great to talk to you guys: Loci, 2legDrive, #2 of search4, akayem and sol de lune (and anyone I have accidently missed) !
Thanks for organising Sol, (and for the record, I was 8 nearly 9 when I started in 2009, so naturally lots of the names I used to see lots aren't particularly active lol).

A great event. Was reminded of having not completed the oldest ACT cache during this event, so obviously I went a got it afterwards thx SDL for hosting. TFTCCE.
What an adventure. Found it, and had a great time.
Thanks

Attended with plenty of other people - a lovely get together! Great catching up with everyone - thanks for organising Sol de lune.
Made it! Did not think I would be able to make this event as I had a family commitment, but managed to turn up about 10 minutes before the end. Still plenty of peeps at the event and we were chatting way past the event close. Even managed to get my name on the log without the mandatory beer payment!
Thanks for hosting this 20th anniversary event Sol de Lune. I found Canberra Nature Park as my 500 cache milestone way back in 2014, my first year of geocaching! And am very happy we have such a nice old cache in the ACT!

This was a quick stop. FFLL no 1 was unwell so we thought it best she doesn't come to the indoors event, so she was waiting in the car while FFLL no 2 flew in and out. A great turnout for this one, hope you all had great afternoon relaxing. Thanks for hosting Sol de Lune
Lovely idea to celebrate 20 years of caching. I was pleased that I could attend this afternoon even though it was the second half of the event. As always, it was good catching up with familiar and new faces.
Many thx for the great company Sol de lune, and the fresh glass of water - perfect temperature! I loved reminiscing over your caches that have fabulous views and often with spectacular rocky features. Back then I didn’t know the face behind these caches

It has been a fabulous day. Beautiful weather, great company, daily target reached, as well as a CITO , this event, with scrummy lunch, and about 5 GCA caches. Thanks for organising this event to commemorate such a wonderful occasion Sol de Lune. I can't wait for the next one in 5 years? SL
I wasn't able to attend until the second half of the event, but pleased I was able to get there! Was quite nice to sit and chat and catch up with those I was able to.
I found it interesting that I found this cache within the 1st year of my caching, and on the 16th April 2017. One day after its 16th birthday... a complete coincidence!
Being a newbie, I had no idea about it's significance of age or importance then, something I hold highly in my caching these days. 4 years a little late but favourite added today!
Thanks for the event and its prompting my little look back over my caching for this cache!

It was great to see everyone again as well as a few new faces. Great venue with great food. TFTH
With three events and a weekend off I decided on heading over to Canberra to attempt the ‘Most cache types in a day challenge’. After arriving Friday night and having a great night sleep, it was morning and I headed off to find the caches between the motel and the first event. It was a great drive across the country side picking up the finds plus the caches at both parts of the rest area where the first event was held. A fun little event for everyone to meet and greet before heading into Canberra for the CITO. Next, it was time for the CITO plus claiming the find on nearby virtual cache. After the CITO, I was up to 7 cache types already. Then, it head off to find a WIG and LB to add the next two types to the list before heading to the final event. At the final event, I had a delicious Chicken Snitty and spoke all things Geo with the other attendees. Finally it was time to get a mystery cache to make it 11 for the day. Just before heading back to my motel I passed by the GCA History series along the Anzac Parade. I may head out and find some caches around Queanbeyan tonight before heading to bed. TB visit on all caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found today and for allowing them to bring enjoyment to me and the rest of the caching community. TFTC’s and TFTE’s

#11267 - 1:36:00 PM; It was a possibility I may have been out of town for this one, but turns out I wasn't. A bit late arriving, but stayed on until the end socialising and celebrating Canberra's oldest cache. Great use of the Community Celebration Event and handy that COVID extended availability to capture this milestone in the local caching scene. TFTE Sol de lune
A great day outside and a pretty good day for an inside event as well. Thanks to all who turned up to help celebrate another anniversary our first cache. All seemed to go well, even with the odd sticker or two pulled off the underside of a few chairs. My bad...
Hope all enjoyed the food, drink and the general conversation. See you all in a few years to do it all again....

24,508. Attended the third of three events today with minniek.
We couldn't miss attending three different types of events in a day, so in towards Canberra we went, and after stopping at the lookout at Lake George at the lookout for the first one, and Mt Ainslie for the second one, and then grabbing some traditionals, it was time for this Community Celebration Event. This was a fun event, lots of familiar faces, yummy food, and prizes ! As the CO said we have to preserve the caching history we have in the ACT and that includes keeping the Canberra Nature Park cache alive and well, as well as all the 'older' caches around. Something people should consider before putting in a 'Needs Maintenance' log.
Thanks Sol de Lune !!

This is always a top spot for an event! Huge venue with plenty of room for a large attendance, and they always do a pretty decent lunch as well! I got the Wagyu Burger this time for something a bit different, and it was very good!
Was amazed to see KingPin show up too, or injuryman as some may remember him Great to catch up again, been many years since I had seen you at an event! Hope you stick around a bit!
Was also fortunate enough to win one of the door prizes! Wooohooo A nice little bag of pathtags.
Thanks Sol de lune for hosting, enjoyed celebrating this special event, and great that we still have ACT's first cache active!

Hoping to be there for the event and lunch to know some more Canberra cachers! Just 1 of me
Sadly I didn't make it to any of the previous events and this one will also elude me because I will be out of town. Best wishes for a very happy 20th birthday event...
Was thinking of the CO while watching a certain sports match, and remembered I had to put my will attend in for this! I have many fond memories of the 2011 event, oh so long ago. I intend to attend this one too! (only if uni's not too busy though, but PM you if that's the case). 1 person for lunch though, please!
Hmmmm ... I think I will have to leave Qld a day or 2 earlier than I was planning, so I can make it back home in time for this event
... I am planning on driving up for the Dayboro Mega, then spending a week and a 1/2 staying with my Parents, who live up near there (in Caloundra) ... I need to be back for work on the 19th, and being home from a holiday with a spare day or 2 before work is not something I usually do, but is probably something I should do - so this event gives me the perfect reason to actually try and do that - lol
So ...
I intend to attend
(and of course I will be partaking of lunch, and probably also a beer - to give a happy birthday toast to the 20 year old cache ... well - that's my excuse, and I am sticking to it

Will be back in town (if we get to leave) so looking forward to it. Will likely have lunch too
Count me in!
Will have already eaten lunch (no food) but will grab a drink to celebrate
Many thx Sol de lune.
