I can't believe I forgot to log this! Not only was it memorable because of the date and the COVID delay and the reason, but also for the torrential rain that hit as I arrived. Luckily, I spotted some friends sheltering in a lovely dry gazebo and they graciously shared their space. Cake was consumed, stories were swapped, and we even accompanied the lucky winners of the FTF prize on their jaunt. A great time was had by all.

This was a great event thank you for hosting Orange Crew. I attended with Quesera
A fun event to celebrate geoching's 20th year. Thanks for holding this event, Orange Crew.
I was determined to make this event as I wasn't sure how many more I could get to as I often work weekends. Today I had a friend's engagement party starting at 10:30 so I thought I could spend a few hours there and then head over for the community celebration.
I arrived at the same time as the saintsmadhouse crew and we headed over to the party to catch up with friends. Soon the rain came down and I looked behind me and saw Fang and MinnieMoo with the gazebo. I have never been happier to see Fang! A quick hand to get the thing up and sides on and then quickly brace for wind. I ended up with a slightly wet behind but it was worth it for the rest of me to be dry.
I had a great time catching up with friends in the month off restrictions. Thanks for the event Orange Crew!

Out today with Selva Girls and Curious Quest and after the sound series and few at Fig Tree Pocket we headed back to Joyner for Orange Crew Event and couple more caches TFTC Orange Crew . *3748* Finds
Thanks for this great catch up! Not my best decision to arrive on a bike but it was definitely worth it!
Cheers,

Thank you Orange Crew for putting on this event. Was great to see so many fellow cachers.
Great event. Thank you for organising *Orang Crew* ! Got to meet new people and log a whole lot of trackables. TFTE !
Thankyou so much for organising this event. Was great to have a chat and a laugh and collect some smilies along the way. Plans were made for an outing next weekend with a few other geocachers. We enjoy the finding and hiding side of the game but also love the social side as well.
Thank you Kieran for the organisation, beautiful cake and nibbles and raffle !
We enjoyed the event meeting known and unknown fellow cachers.
We had fun, and the showers inbetween were needed... Not for the event, but for the nature and our dams.
Cheers Susan

Well it seems Fangsoki and I turned up at this one just in time. As the heavens began to open, out came Fangsoki’s gazebo, and those in the know rushed over to help us get it up and get in underneath.
With Net88 using her backside as a wind and rain breaker in the corner, those of us near the middle stayed well dry.
It was fantastic to see such a great turnout here, the rain didn’t seem to hold anyone back. Another enjoyable Orange Crew event with many faces, new and old.
Thanks for the event Orange Crew.

Saturday. How could we not attend an Orange Crew event! Stayed for the fun, the company and the food was an added bonus! Glad to have picked up another souvenir.
This was the 3rd of 4 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***Orange Crew*** for showing us this place

I enjoyed catching up with everyone, and then heading off for a group cache of the trad, and fun little wherigo ??
Check my attached picture for a trackable code and info about the Dayboro event for Easter, 2021!

We discovered that we were arriving into Brisbane with just enough time to pick up our hire car and attend this Event.
Arrived a little late but in time for celebratory cake and the raffles.
Met plenty of catchers and tagged along with several to make some nearby finds.
Thanks Orange Crew for organising this Event.
Look forward to seeing you all in another 10 years ..... if not before.

That was fantastic! It was a great catch-up. I came away with a smilie on a traitional cache, a travel bug to move on and some questions answered. Thanks Orange Crew.
This was such a fun afternoon. Since arriving in Brisbane, we have enjoyed finding so many geocaches ihidden by friends whose faces we have never seen live.?
Today was a wonderful opportunity to put names and faces together and meet some new friends and say hello to others we have connected with over the last months.
The cake was delicious! Thank you!
And then it was time to find some caches! Following the crowd, rather than focusing, we found ourselves walking in all sorts of wrong directions but eventually found what we were looking for along the way and had a good giggle, chat and laugh together.
Although we had some rain, the heavy wet did not last too long and we were soon enjoying the walks around this beautiful area. Our new tree fishing tool came in very handy today for a few of the finds.
Thanks Orange Crew For putting together such an excellent event and friendly get together. What a lovely group of people to share this hobby with.
Cheers

What a fun afternoon!!! Despite the weather turning on us there was a big turn out and we got to meet so many fellow cachers. The perfect way to spend international geocaching day. Thanks heaps OC for putting on the celebration event and for the delicious choc fudge cake
What a fun event this was. All morning there was sunshine but as soon as we got to the event it started to rain. No problem , I huddled in close to the cake. Yummy. Not long after the rain settled then it was off to find the new multi and wherigo. A couple of times we thought we were following the crew buy realised we were just walking along. I became besties with a few people as I had a brand new fishing pole. It's just like having a Ute. Lol. We had a lot of laughs and continued to find a few more fishing caches until my neck just couldn't cope. Really had a fantastic time. Thankyou for all the fun
A great afternoon and a great turn out even with the rain. It was great to catch upand to put faces to names of cachers I hadn't yet met. It is funny who you meet through geocaching - an old primary school classmate I haven't seen since finishing Year 8!
A big thank you for organising the event and for putting the prizes and new caches together. I'd give it a fav point if I could

Wow, what a terrific turnout for this event There were so many new caching teams that I had never seen before, and of course the usual suspects
Even though the rain came to try to spoil the parade, we all still managed to enjoy the celebration I managed to meet a few new caching teams before I was whisked away by AtTheLakeHouse for some tree fishing
Thank you Orange Crew for organising the celebration event for everyone to enjoy

It was so exciting to be back at an event again and a few people shy of a mega at that. As we were driving in we saw clusters of people on the road side and it was clear they were all geocachers. We knew they all they were all looking for the plastic because they were shifty and untrustworthy looking.
Normally people doing a drug deal or crime are swift, get their business done and move on. The group we saw were all hanging around while one person did all the work. This wasn’t a group of geocachers but an impromptu union meeting.
The rain didn’t dampen anything but just made the whole afternoon more exciting. I took a photo of everyone cramped under the one shelter and then deleted it when it could have appeared on the front page of the Courier Mail. Sometimes you just need to socially distance from the rain (and from stupid). Thanks for organising the event and it was great to see some familiar faces again. tfte

Thanks for setting up the event Orange Crew. Pity about the rain but was good to come down and say hello.
*"Geocachers are resilient.. they'll live mate"*
Those are the words I said to Orange Crew when we were discussing the expected weather for today's Event. And of course, it was just as I said
1MinnieMoo and I rocked up with a gazebo.... and I felt a need to get it in use pronto. Not two seconds later, the heavens opened on us. Everyone made do and found shelter and talked among themselves.
It was so good to catch up with good friends a few new faces. There was a wonderful turnout for this Event. Congratulations to those who won prizes. (I seem to have received the wrong ticket, Orange Crew )
It was obvious Orange Crew had put in a **lot** of effort for his Event. The rain did not dampens our spirits. Every 100th cache I try to do something special. So this is my 9300th cache. Thank you for your effort and everything you did for us, Orange Crew. TFTCC

Well that was memorable! We first had this event slated for Big Blue Switch day on May 2nd, after receiving the exciting news via email back in February confirming we had received a community celebration event. Unfortunately COVID put rest to those plans, so we were keen to reschedule it ASAP when events were once again able to be published.
As the will-attends have been rolling in, we were very surprised to see over 70 teams intending to attend! Sheesh, we need a bigger cake
The cachers all started rolling up and things were going well, with plenty of TBs to discover, cake being scoffed, kids running around on the grass, and lots of great conversations being had. Then the rain came down and we all scurried under shelters and umbrellas, but everyone seemed to keep dry enough, and before long the rain eased off, the FTFs were drawn and everyone could head off and do some caching.
It was lovely to see so many familiar faces, events really are a great way to keep in touch. So
a big heartfelt thank you to everyone who came, contributed and made it a great success, our biggest event yet, we really appreciate it

Thank you Orange Crew for a great Event . Thoroughly enjoyed! Weather initially was not the best, but hey, rain is rain, and we need it. The weather eventually came good. Nice to catchup
with old geo friends and also meet new ones. That's what theses Events are also about ! A good afternoon had caching around the park too.

It was good to be able to take hatzofff (aka Mrs RoddyC) to a Northside event with heaps of company. A great day with the weather, then right on cue at 2pm down came the rains and any thoughts of social distancing went down the drain! Enjoyed the follow-up on a new Wherigo and Multi. Thsnks Orange Crew for this occasion and a souvenir or two.
Out with Richmond Lad and RoddyC to start out adventure into the modern and ancient world and souvenirs.
A good time of catching up with friends at the event even though it was a little wet
Great day out of the house.

Eskies5 and I hatched a plan to head down to Toowoomba for this event. Rain pounded the ground in Toowoomba all morning and I had my fingers crossed we would get a reprieve when heading to Bris. We did,, it didn't rain the entire journey to the entire. But making the last couple of turns the windscreen saw a few spits and by the time we were arriving we were reaching for rain jackets and things to tame the hair.
We said our hellos and had a few chats. Was great to catch up with the familiar and meet a few more new faces. Thanks for putting this event on Orange Crew

Arrived at the event just in time for the rain to start pelting down. Oh well, will just have to find a space under the shelter & eat a piece of the yummy cake. Luckily it didn't last too long & we could head off to find a few caches & meet some old friends & make some new ones.
Thanks for the fab event Orange Crew, was great to be able to gather in person again.

Why would anyone schedule a storm at the exact moment a celebration event was locked in?
Social distancing thrown out the window as we all huddled for shelter until the skies cleared... soon we were headed off for more adventures. Thanks for the cake

Great roll up for this even as the heavens opened more and more people managed to get their brollies out of dry dock and huddle close by under the already packed shelter. In between showers, got to speak with some familiar cachers that I hadn't seen in ages and grab a slice of the very tasty cake.
Thanks Orange Crew for all the effort that was put in to organise this very special event for our benefit

Hello Strangers! Finally! We arrived to blue and cloudy sky and started to mill around with a good number of people who we had not seen in quite some time, delicious cake was had, trackables swapped and discovered, pathtags too. Fangsoki pulled up with his ever trusty gazebo just as the heavens opened so there was lots of help to erect and shelter and hold it so it wouldn't blow away, I rushed to the car to look for a hammer for the pegs, got drenched but to no avail. I returned to socialise and then assist Saint175 to do the Wherigo he won as he hadn't ever done one before, Thanks Net88 for the use of the smartphone when mine wouldn't cooperate. Thanks Orange Crew for a great location and event. Rain does not stop us!
After having a very slow start to the morning it was a rush to get from lunch at home to the event. As I was running out the door the hubby asked it I needed a jacket - looking at the sky I was like ‘nah, don’t be silly!’ Well the weather gods pointed out exactly who was silly soon enough! The worst part was when I got back to my car afterwards and opened my boot there was my rain jacket silently laughing at me not to mention perfectly dry!
The event itself was great, so awesome to see so many cachers back in one spot. Looking forward to more future events.

Out for a solo run this afternoon to attend this event and gather a few caches nearby
Very glad to finally be able to attend a GC20 event I arrived early but folks were already here. Such a great turn out, but that is to be expected at an event hosted by Orange Crew! There was cake, rain, friends to catch up with, new people to meet, and caches to be found. My kind of day, really! Thanks for hosting us all, OC.

Thanks Orange Crew for putting on this event. Had a good time, despite a bit of rain. Loved the cake too
Kestal and I left Toowoomba at midday just as the sun appeared after a wet, wet morning. It remained fine until we were just pulling into Bullocky Rest. By the time we made it to GZ the heavens opened and the temp plummeted. Thankfully it was shortlived and after the prize draw we left to grab a few caches of interest before heading back to Tba. Thanks for organising, Orange Crew.
A great event,! This was the first outing of the CacheQLD banner, which had been obtained right before COVID emerged. Maybe needs some work to stay upright on its own...
Thanks for organizing Orange Crew. Great to catch up with a few familiar faces, and meet some more.
Great cake, great downpour.
Great cake, great downpour.
What awesome day until the heavens broke but luckily it only lasted a while. The cake was delicious and I'll have it on my hips for a while. Unlucky in the FTFs but that's ok. A huge crowd and some I knew, some I've seen their log of caches and some i met for the first. Great day and thanks for organising Orange Crew. TFTE
Great event despite the bit of rain at the start. Good to be able to catch-up with so many people.
The multi has been published, those who found it can log a find. http://coord.info/GC8XD97
The wherigo GC8X9CG will be published tomorrow morning.
Also, someone left an old green camp chair near the BBQ at the event. If you want it back contact me
