Hey, I solved the gravestone details and found the cache safe and sound. A pretty cool little camouflaged cache container.I got some wayward gps readings, so I had to widen my GZ search area. Sneaky little bugger, well hidden. The log is safe and dry but full... I managed to make my mark.My luck also held out this time here, the diving magpies were harrassing a poor old lady attending a grave rather than me. I guess winners are grinners.TFTC cbrchic
Reperio 11:22Day 2 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I travelled from Tarago, through to Bungendore and then on to Captains Flat. It was quite an eventful day, from finding a dog on a lonely country road, to having a brown snake slide up next to me while signing a cache, to having a police officer pull over and put his lights on for us as we were pulling road kill off the roadand of course, lots of geocaches found. A great day out full of geocaching and adventure. Love visiting these historic places.Gratias CBRCHICAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
TFTC CBRCHIC your cache Bungendore Resting Place that we found today. The Canberra Mega is over but we are staying in town for a few more days. We went out with Honeysucker, Wollaston and MeAndDe to Batemans Bay. The main aim was Earthcache 1 and Honeysuckers 19,000th find. We stopped at other caches on the way and on our return. This was one of themFind Count: 19542
An opportunity arose today to head from Canberra down to South Durras to find [Earthcache I - a simple geology tour of Wasp Head](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCHFT2_earthcache-i-a-simple-geology-tour-of-wasp-head) with Wollaston, HansandLinda and Honeysucker. Of course I couldn't pass up such an offer. We headed off, only stopping occasionally and had a very enjoyable day in the sunshine while back in Canberra the weather was less than friendly. Thanks for find #6071TNLN

Big thanks to CBRCHIC for placing this cache. Cache number 8849 on March 29, 2024
Found during the Mega event in Canberra over the Easter long weekend. Our team comprised courtneyrose_, Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, Freddo, gridge98 and Team Waldron, signing the logs as ABP to save time and space in the logbooks , or with our individual caching names. Enjoyed a great weekend away finding a rewarding range of cache types, d/t combinations, cache hides and retrievals. Thanks for the cache CBRCHIC!
A quick find here, cache is all goodHeaded over to the Capital GeoBash in Canberra, ACT with Freddo over 5 days, travelling through the central part of NSW before caching around the hinterlands. A nice few days over with great weather. Thanks for the cache
I see dead people. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. Found as I headed to Canberra for the Mega event over Easter.I identified some caches of interest and took a rather circuitous route, hoping to find as many of the targets as possible in the relatively short time available. So many caches; so little time! Thanks CBRCHIC for the cache.
Another short drive from Goulburn to Bungendore chipping away at the days until the Mega starts. We hav setup at the showgrounds for a couple of days and maybe get the chance to do some repairs on the landcruiser side step.A cool day in the shade but pleasant in the sun. Found on a drive in Queanbeyan and Bungendore to side-track to highly favourited caches for the Signal's Labyrinth challenge this month. Sad story behind this gravestone. I got a good looking set of numbers pretty quickly but once at GZ I wasn't having any luck. I went back to the gravestone and realised I plugged-in the final south coords wrong; I didn't need to go back in the first place! Quick find once at the correct GZ. Peaceful location, TFTC CBRCHIC!
Many thanks for this multi. We spent the day meandering from Collector through to Bungendore before heading back to Canberra.

I love these old weathered headstones, they are so beautifully decorated and have a lovely patina. I crunched the numbers and found the cache without too much effort. I do love caches in cemeteries.
Teamnanbombana, Membsec, Nyssaflutterby were on the coast for EC weekend.
Heading back towards the airport now but time for some stops along the way.
Always time to stop for a cemetery cache, I really should start working out how many cemeteries we have visited for caches!
There were some snakes eeek but the cache was located and log signed as QTAS.

Spending a couple of days in and around ACT with 3 Queenslanders and 1 Tasmanian, then down to the coast for a few days! Weather not great so we have been trying to get caches that are not long walks so we can keep reasonable dry.
Due to this weekend being “Earthcache Day” we were aiming at doing as many Earthcaches as possible and anything else that we thought was worth a stop. Found with Nyssaflutterby, teamnanabombane and wombles&co.
On our way back to Canberra to go our separated ways unfortunately. We couldn’t resist this area as we all love cemeteries and there were a few things to achieve from here….one to get out alive!!!! As Lady membsec was heading to GZ, on top of one of the graves was a huge snake that got a fright like me and slithered down a nearby hole!! A few deep breaths and onward. Cache was successfully found! Signed as QTAS to save time and space.
Now for our next adventure…..

#2745 Collected the data at the grave stone before making the short stroll to GZ for a quick find. Luckily the log was dry as the cap had not been completely screwed on. Later in the day we drove over the creek that the poor chap drowned in. Thanks CBRCHIC for preparing this Multi.
#861 Turtle and I decided to venture out to Bungendore today to hopefully clear out the area. In total I picked up 30 finds so it was a fairly positive outing.
A quick coordinate retrieval at the posted coordinates before heading off to GZ. Spent no more than a few minutes searching before Turtle spotted the hide. Was glad to find a dry log after finding the cache hadn’t been completely shut properly. We actually ended up driving over the bridge of the creek he drowned on later in the day, we’d never have noticed it before without this multi. Thanks CBRCHIC

Was at the cemetery for the AL (where I saw two of the biggest brown snakes I’ve ever seen!) so thought I’d have a go at this one while I was there.
Found WP and got the numbers I needed.
Lots of places at GZ for a micro. There was a muggle in a parked car at GZ so I didn’t look for too long before calling it a DNF.

Find Number 2388 found at 11:19. Today we found 18 caches plus 6 Adventure lab stages. We had 6 DNF.
22/2/22 - a significant date with four souvenirs up for grabs.
I headed to Bungendore hoping to achieve three aims: get all 4 douvenirs; get the two multicaches I needed for a challenge and get as many caches with 6 months or more unfound time as possible.
I obtained the necessary data and headed off to the final location. I found the cache easily enough, dismantled it and signed the log. However, when I tried to put it back together I couldn't find the rest of it. Unusually, it took me far longer to replace the cache than it did to find it.
Anyway, it was all in good condition and is finally ready for the next seeker.
Thanks CBRCHIC for the cache.

Aquilus1 and I spent a horrible wet, windy do doing what everyone should: caching in the car.
A little loop taking us out through Bungendore & Braidwood doing lots of multi's, then back through Captains Flat, with a bonus AL in Queanbeyan as we were going to be early for the Xmas event.
All hides found relatively easily, thank you to all the CO's for placing.

It was a day out and about Bungendore and Braidwood with the FFLL ladies and the ladies picked the best day to do it. It was a warm day with the sun shining and our main target was to get some multi's under our belts. A day of lots of laughs and quite a few caches found, including multi's, puzzles, traditionals, adventure labs and even an earthcache. Finished the day off getting caught in a hail storm on the way home, was a day of all kinds of weather.
A nice easy multi in a nice old cemetery, do have a soft spot wandering around old headstones. Information gathered and coordinates calculated. No issues locating the cache, signed and replaced.
Thanks for the cache placement CBRCHIC and thanks for the lovely day out FFLL ladies.

With one of the team being restricted to home we decided to take a road trip to at least get out of the house. So a trip to Bungendore and Braidwood was planned with Rapidlywild. Thankfully it was lovely weather although a little warm at times. We planned to clean up both places but will need to return to Bungendore at some stage as we notched up a DNF. On return to Canberra the weather had turned pretty nasty hitting a storm along the way.
A nice multi here, cache found and signed.
Thanks for the cache CBRCHIC and for the company and assistance Rapidlywild, it was a fun day out.

Lockdown has bought a totally different approach to caching with the introduction of homework! Much time for homework in fact. Therefore many more puzzles solved, both as a solo and collective effort. Thanks to my fellow geo buddies for assistance when needed.
And in between there are still some traditionals, though not nearly as many of them left these days
Out with Marmaduke Rothschild for a drive interstate and in the country because we can.
Super enjoyable single offset multi in beautiful spots with soft late afternoon breeze and plenty of flowers.
Logs all in good condition unless otherwise noted.
Thanks to CBRCHIC for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment!

An interesting grave for sure. After doing the calculations it was off to GZ and took a couple of minutes to spot the cache. TFTC!
Took a few re-reads of the cache details before I figured out the exact information required.
Logical gz calculated moments later.
A large case of cache blindness then followed.

This week consisted of getting away from work early enough to visit a cache, either on my scooter or driving, to try and continue building up my calendar finds days. Some days needed a specific cache type as well. This week was nice weather wise and made for a pleasant afternoon.
A very wet afternoon, but it had eased by the time I was ready to walk around. GZ is very well protected. A nice walk.

#10488 - 9:15:00 AM; Out on a mission with Sol de lune this morning to undertake a caching circumnavigation of Lake George. Our goal for the day was to collect the various caches, including some Adventure Labs, along or near our route with stops in Bungendore and Collector as we made our way around. Collected the ALs and info for some other multis around the town, then headed to the dead centre of town for this cache. Gathered the info and then headed to GZ where after a few minutes, Sdl finally spotted the cache. TFTC CBRCHIC
Out with LuckyL10n on a Sunday caching run involving a lap of Lake George and a stop in Bungendore for a couple of multi's. This was a neat little walk around the area and we soon had our GZ sorted. Took a couple of minutes to make the find, but all was good and the log was soon signed.

Had a quick preliminary look for this a couple of weeks back with no luck. Nearby muggles precluded a more systematic search in the dense growth.
A bit of a nudge from a previous finder, who sensibly had completed this cache in the winter months, helped me to narrow down the search and today after a short hunt the container was finally spotted in the undergrowth. Quite tough at this time of year. Spent some time admiring the spectacular roses in the cemetery. TFTC CBRCHIC and a FP awarded

The new AL in Bungendore brought us to this lovely and interesting cemetery, so why not grab another cache while here. The nearby trad did not appeal, I am not climbing a tree to sign a log roll in a bison for anyone... so many tree climbs being published of late. Anyway, this little multi was much more pleasant, from the interesting gravestone (there was much speculation as to how the young man came to meet his demise... with one conclusion, that perhaps a few beverages had been consumed?), to the lovely leafy arbour. It took a few minutes, but the cache was soon in hand. TFTC CBRCHIC
I guess only geocachers saunter around a cemetery in freezing rain.
Was actually trying to do some research for an AL, but no retreated into my car. Some really interesting gravestones around and, sadly a lot for children.

fitzy_1965 and I were up early and on the road to get to Canberra for a day of Leap Day caching.
CITOing done and some general chatting before we left for a long walk around Mulligan's Flat Reserve to help us get 10 types in a day accompanied by Smittengranny.
After another event, a FTF and an AL, we started making our way home.
In dying light, we decided to attempt this multi. We had to trust the GPS to find the correct gravestone. Then when at GZ using torches, we eventually rang another finder to confirm we were in the right spot (we were). With more fervent looking, we finally found the sneaky little hide.

20,222. Found during an epic days caching (mainly with minniek and smittengranny) while celebrating the elusive 29 February.
Last time round in 2016 I went for numbers (before today I had 118 caches on 29 Feb), so this year I went for cache types - managing 10 ! Heading home after a long day but a successful one we had 2 more caches on our list. We arrived at the cemetery just on dusk but managed to narrow down the required headstone. Once at GZ it was a tough search in the Dark but we soon managed to locate it.
Thanks CBRCHIC !!

After being down in Royalla and up huge mountains, we were headed back into the city.
Wow what pot-luck we had that we had just turned off the Monaro Highway when this was published! It meant all we needed to do was a U-Turn at the first roundabout, and we were already on the road to Queanbeyan!
So we raced down, through Queanbeyan, and onto Bungendore, to soon reach a familiar location. I remember climbing the pine tree at the back of the cemetery, and then watching someone climb it on a second occasion!
We got to WP1, and ummed and ahhed about which headstone we should be looking at. Luckily the coordinates were very spot on, so we only had 2 choices to pick from. Reading the two headstones, one of them sounded more interesting than the other, so we decided this would be the one to choose.
We soon proved ourselves correct, as we reached GZ in a VERY good place to hide a cache! Surprised someone hadn't already taken this spot in fact!
Took a couple of minutes to locate, but soon enough we had the empty log in hand, and went down to the Bungendore Pie Shop to reward ourselves
Thanks CBRCHIC! I think this is a great multi, with an interesting WP and a top quality hide! All I would suggest is maybe saying "The Gravestone on the left, of the two, when facing the road"
Doesn't spoil the waypoint or the person on the stone, but it just helps know which one you should be looking at so mistakes aren't made!
