I love the old bridge here. I found the cache fast with the help of my phone - not a fan of sticking my hands into spider dwellings, but luckily none were here today. Thanks!
Barely touched it and fell. Rescued it. Be careful grabbing it. Otherwise, a bit of wire or string could save it from falling out of reach. TFTC.
So sometimes if youre a late night geocacher you have obstacles - usually people - little insects, damp logsI write this on the side of the road, heater on. Doors locked a little distance from the site. Spooked. On this occasion, whilst walking across the bridge on this frosty night, I saw a four-legged dark coloured creature run across the path into the paddock. Fox, whatever. Not scary. After plucking out the cache (nice one Wolla), I was greeted by a little huntsman. No issue, just shook it onto the grass. Not scary. Opened up the log book under the convenient glare of the iPhone, which I diligently tucked into the front of my top, tsked at a stamp taking up a whole page - a bugbear and began writing. Name done. Date done. Not scary. As I wrote the time - ten to eleven - I thought gee glad its not witching hour, thats a little bit spooky Then scary happened. From a thicket of trees about ten metres to my right came a scream. It was blood-curdling, and sounded like a witch. Seriously its the only way to describe it. Truly horrifying. However..Id heard this before, and can explain.Vixens in season have this love-call which Ive heard only once before and it caused me to run outside my old house to find, well nothing as the fox had pissed off but I didnt know that. A neighbour had heard it, and came outside also to investigate. She told me that she thought it sounded like a fox, but wanted to check it wasnt a person. No longer scary. So, incase youre wondering why I hauled-arse, copy and paste this delightful cacophony of sweet sounds: https://youtu.be/NIyOiwGfJ1I?si=ZeCakAPBrgt48zBeScary. A. F.(Turn the sound right down too!)TL:DR - if you want the potential of self-soiling, do this cache alone laaaate at night. Thanks for the cache!!!!!!!!!Favourited for the scare factor
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. Interesting piece of history here, thanks for the cache. LNCU.
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Spending a few days in Warrnambool to grab some local finds. Thanks for the hideLNCU
This impressive bridge looked in great condition but then we read the sign as we left and realised it had been refurbished in 2019.The cache was in the first place we checked but was quickly dropped as it was crawling with ants - hundreds of them. They had even managed to get inside the container.Tapped them off but I suspect they will find their way back again. Thanks for the cache and the information here. Hard to believe the water was up to the red bits of the bridge.
We are in Portland staying with Dad for a few days and thought a trip to Warnambool would be a nice outing. We had found the previous cache here and were happy to come and have another look at this fascinating bridge. When we pulled up there was a group of kids that had just been swimming not far from where the GPS was pointing so we started looking for the next cache on the list when we noticed them packing up. A kittle while later they were on their way and so were we. Happily the cache was located in the first place we looked and the log book now contains our name. Many thanks Wollaston for the history and also for keeping this cache alive.
Winning!! First place a put my hand and BOOM.... got you . Replaced and ready for its next visitor. Thanks for the hide

We have come down from Kaniva to take a friend to Panmure, after dropping them off we headed off to find a few caches. Heading to Warrnambool this was the next cache that was attempted and found. We recall finding a cache on this beautiful bridge in the past and were very happy to return here for this cache. SL TFTC
Up and about early for day 2 of a work conference (just a few caches before I head home). I had found the first version of this so nice t o come back for this one. Easy find here. Thanks for the cache.
scramping & I were visiting Warrnambool for a 4-day long weekend. After our event Chook (ChooknChunk), Eviloffspring, scramping & I did some caching around town.We arrived at this lovely bridge and parked in the carpark. The car with the dodgy spray paint job and dodgy number plate on the back (none on the front) was still there from our encounter on Friday night but no-one in sight. (Reported to Police) We walked across the bridge and located the cache reasonably easy without help from the previous finder in our group, stamped and placed back as found.TFTC Wollaston
Returned to this one with hevwalker after our weird experience on Friday night where we didn't feel safe doing this one in the dark. Today Chooknchunk and eviloffspring had joined us in grabbing some caches after hevwalkers event. The cache was found relatively quickly. The bridge is a magnificent specimen of history being kept for all to experience and visit. The dodgy car was still there from Friday night. (we reported the car the next day after noticing it was still there when we drove past on our way home, very curious on the outcome, but probably will never know) Thanks for showing us this beautiful piece of history. TFTC
After attending an event this morning in Warrnambool, Chook teamed up with Hevwalker, Scramping and Eviloffspring to find a few more caches around town before she had to head home.A lovely day to stroll across the bridge and a nice quick find too. TFTC Wollaston.
Found It.............It was decided while having breakfast to head down to grab a few caches. After pulling up we wandered over to GZ where a quick search between the muggles had us with the prize and with the log signed and cache replaced we took in the views. Thanks Wollaston for the cache
Found on a damp morning. Another day for the Wheel of Challenges.

Some days off work so time for Mr and Mrs JTreeTrack2 to head SouthWest, to clear the brain and see some beautiful countryside and ocean views. So we packed up the Camry geocar, put the tent on the roof racks (the heater also packed) and headed out to base ourselves at Killarney and range off from here. Warnambool, Nelson, Mount Gambier and some bits in between.
What a beautiful old bridge, it is great that it is maintained to show off the history. We enjoyed the walk across and the birdshow in the water below. Cache was intact and the log nice and dry.

Had to dissuade local wildlife about setting up house in cache. All in order. Tftc
The boys couldn’t find it so I had a feel and then looked on the ground inside to see it had fallen down. Signed the log and placed back where it should have been. TFTC
Day 4 and it was the last day of my road trip through the south west of Victoria... time to head home to Melbourne... but not without finding lots of caches along the way. Having spent the morning traveling around Moyne Shire, while *geocaching.com* was off line, I headed back into Warrnambool for more caches when the site was back.
Skirting around the northern edge, I was grabbing caches to reach a total of twenty 's for this road trip. This cache was a nice easy find after a walk across the bridge... it was interesting to note that despite its size, you could still feel the deck move under the foot-fall of just one person.
Thanks **Wollaston** for placing this cache and bringing the bridge to our attention.

Touring around the town of Warrnambool today in the wet and windy weather, not stopping us from grabbing some caches. Didn’t take too long to locate the cache at a cool little old bridge here. Signed log and left as found, cheers.

I was wondering why such an elaborate bridge for a river crossing of the walking trail when it was explained by the CO that it used to be the main road to access the Wollaston Estate.
Thanks Wollaston.

A cold and rainy day exploring warrnambool. Came across this bridge and thought we'd check to see if there was a cache here, and there was! TFTC. Found by Cache in the Hat
Popped into town with Trailstevo to do Port Fairy Parkrun in the morning. Stayed at our usual, The Cally, and went for a wander to develop a walk and encourage an appetite ready for the evening Pizzas. 13km walked in all, got a bit wet, was a bit windy but we did It. Thanks to all the CO,s for the hides. Looking forward to coming back to do another sweep!

Spending a lovely caching day around the Warrnambool area, discovering many things about this place Nearly hidden TFTC Wollaston
Catching up on some late logs, now that I have time, while travelling.
Needed a cache for the day, so targeted this one. It was a quick find but the ants had decided to build a nest around it. Cleaned out and stamped.
This is a lovely old bridge.
Thanks for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoyed finding it.

A busy day's caching around Warrnambool with The Morris.
Not sure how we ended up with so many to do, but we got most that we didn't need special equipment, or weren't locked out of.
Great to see the bridge still in such good condition counting all the water that has flowed both under and over it.
We had a muggle sitting in the middle playing with her phone, but she couldn't see us at GZ.
Thanks for replacing this hide.
Thanks, Robmc.

This bridge is very familiar - I think once seen never forgotten, we must've done the original cache. This one was a quick find, thanks for the hide. Lovely old bridge.
Maintenance run today:

The bridge certainly stands out in the landscape because of its sturdy construction and bright paint job. Harrowang and Beavar walked over it to the cache. SL at 4.17pm and then walked back to the GeoCruiser. #8095 TFTC Wollaston - another heritage site highlighted.
They’re doing some bridge works on one side but there weren’t any workmen here today, just their digger. TFTC
In Warnie for some specialty shopping and to collect Mr Morris from the train. It was a beautiful day and there was time for some caching.
A quick stop to grab this one and admire the old bridge.
Thanks for showing us this part of the world Wollaston

After attending the "Let's Strain The Drain - Warrnambool CITO" this morning, we plotted a course around town in an effort to convert the green tear drops on our Cachly map to smiley faces. We have seen the bridge in a number of guises over the years, thank to Geocaching - it certainly looks great at the moment.
Our thanks to Wollaston for placing interesting caches on the gameboard.

Geowife loves old bridges, so there was no choice about visiting this location cache or no cache. Although we probably wouldn't have been aware of its existence if it wasn't for Geocaching. Beautiful old even in the rain. TFTC
We had a good look inside but couldn’t find it.
Someone found it today so hopefully we’ll have better luck next time.
Thanks for the cache ️

Great to see another cache at this location, it's airways nice to cone down here and admire this grand old bridge.
Would have been an easy find had it been attached as it was supposed to be. Was a bit of a struggle to reach the cache on the ground inside the hide, but got there eventually and returned it as it was meant to be hidden. Thx Wollaston ftc.
